Overcllocking Processor of An Ultrabook/Sleekbook

I have HP Envy 6 1002TX Sleekbook or Ultrabook i don't know.
what's the point of having this laptop if it doesn't even provide adequete power, idon't think 1.70GHZ isof any use.
tell me exactly what's the point of having a dedicated VRAM of 2GB with this CPU if this can't even fullfill the min requement for most of the games?
So, at last i would like to ask if i can overclock this computer or must get it replaced by any other computer:-

you can easily run alan wake,batman arkham city ,battlefield 3,crysis,mass effect 3 with high settings dude what is the exact problem you have?its a great laptop ,if you are facing issues then reinstall your windows and drivers and setup everything again ...my suggestion would be try to keep your laptop connected to direct ac power while gaming for better performance,the laptop i have has the same problem it doesnt allow me to play games with good fps on battery even if i put the power settings on high performance ..but when i connect it to direct ac power i get good results with better frame rates ...so dont panic reinstall everything ,if you are facing those issues again then get your laptop checked to your nearest hp centre ..

How to enable the bios in my sleekbook

Hi Im trying to enable the bios in my sleekbook so I can run 64 bit virtual machines on it.
I'm using VMware workstation 9 as the virtual software and trying to run Windows 2008 Server R2 64 bit.
My computers specs are:
Model: HP ENVY Touchsmart Ultrabook Sleekbook 4-1115dx
OS: Windows 8 64 bit

I tried looking online and there was nothing mention on how to do it. Please help.

This should be an option in BIOS provided it supports virtualization (most do).
Power the notebook off.
Power the notebook on and press F10 about once every second.
Eventually, the BIOS should load. Select System Configuration at the top and your screen should look similar to the one below.
You should be able to enable virtualization here.
Let me know what happens.

Synaptics multi-touch driver not working

Hello,
I've got a problem with my multi-touch pad. I have, without meaning to, deleted my synaptics pointing device driver and, obviously, it stopped working. I have already followed severeal times instructions by other forums but it wouldn't work anyway. The driver is already installed but it doesn't work any way. I have also tried to enable it but it was already enabled. Rebooting and restarting my computer wouldn't work.
please help me.

Be prepared:
Create a Restore Point Create a Restore Point – Win7 OR Create a restore point Win8
Next:
Perform the Hard Reset . Boot the computer and log in
That may do jar loose any cobwebs.
Version update...
If you are not using this version and you are running Windows 8 or 8.1,
you might install this driver for HP ENVY 14-k010us Sleekbook :
sp62794 Synaptics TouchPad V17.0.2.4

Ultrabook for InDesign

While I continue to set aside money for a new home desktop (for my heavier design purposes), I am in need of a new laptop. Since my day job consists of using InDesign on a daily basis I would like to put a copy of InDesign on this new laptop. I can find ultrabooks with dedicated graphics and plenty of RAM. My question is would an ultrabook with a 3rd gen. Intel i7 processor be enough for me to run InDesign CS5.5/6? (The print projects I work on are mostly text and not heavy on imagery.) HP Pavillion 14 Touchsmart Sleekbook smoking

Hi I just recently bought a HP pavillion 14 Touchsmart sleekbook and for some reason it started smoking really bad near the on button. it started melting the plastic around it so I immediately shut it off. I tried to restart it again but as soo as i turned it on a lot of smoke came out from the on button! How can I fix this?

Please stop using the computer immediately. It sounds like there may be a short or at least a component that is overheating. This could cause it to fail completely. You should contact the dealer where you bought it for help.

Memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1 on pages 3 & 4.
Make sure you get the memory that matches what is listed for the chipset and processor your model has.
Check the existing 2 GB module you have to see if it indicates if it is DDR3L or just DDR3.
DDR3L is Low Voltage memory that = 1.35V.
You will need to get a memory chip that matches whatever voltage that one is.

HP Split x2 Ultrabook (unresponsive upon start, and defective screen)

Dear Sir/Miss,
I purchased the HP Split x2 13" Ultrabook PC (i5 Intel Processor) from BestBuy a little over a year ago. For the duration of the first year everything was fine. I did have some issues with the trackpad being unresponsive, but I was able to resolve that issue on my own. However, over the past week the computer has not been responsive when I press the power button. I am forced to press the button 10 to 15 times just to get the computer to start. Additionally, whenever I adjust the angle of the screen, the PC shuts off and goes into sleep mode. I had a guy from Geek Squad check it out and he told me he believed some of the connectors/wires between the keyboard, and tablet we're defective or damaged (apparently a common issue with hybrid laptops). The laptop has never been dropped, or handled roughly. I did check some of the HP support forums and found that many other individuals expirienced the same problem with this particular model. To rule out any software issues, I ran a virus scan using Norton 360, and Malwarebytes, and then I performed a factory reset on the PC, however, the issues with the power button, and screen still persists leading me to believe that the malfuntion is related to a hardware defect. My warranty expired on December 4th of 2014, however, if this is a defect in the PC's hardware will HP service the laptop? Any repsonse is greatly appriciated!

Laptop AMD Processor upgrade

Product information: HP Pavilion DV2615nr running Win Vista 32-bit, 1GB RAM, AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-58 (1.9GHz, socket S1, power wattage 31W). Speccy indicates laptop has a Wistron 30D6 motherboard (socket A).
I want to upgrade this slow system with a faster processor, more RAM and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (or even downgrade to Win XP Pro 64-bit, at least for the short term)
I'm currently looking into adding RAM to a total of 4 GB.
I would appreciate some information in regards to the right processor I can upgrade to. At this time I'm thinking to upgrade to a AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-68, which runs at 2.4GHz, although the wattage is different, 35 watts, whereas the current TL-58 specification is 31 watts, and both processors are 65nm SOI process technology.
Can someone indicate if I'm in the right track in choosing a compatible processor (the TL-68)? Also, is there a better processor that I can successfully upgrade to, other that the TL-68? I've heard that not all socket S1 processors will run on the same socket even if they physically fit in the socket, hence I'm a bit confused as to which processor to go to.

U410 Ultrabook

Recently received a U410 Ultrabook with 1TB hard drive and 32 GB SSD. Wondring if anyone else is having the same issues i am having regarding the following:
1. Upon completing the initial set up, i rebooted and checked to see if there were any issue in the Event Viewer. I had numerous Bootshieldsvc errors! Also had Kernel-Processor-Power warning messages stating speed of process is limited by firmware (I believe this can be remedied by changing the power settings?). Other than going through the initial set up, nothing else was done on the laptop.
2. Also had wininit erros as well (Event Viewer). "Custom dynamic libraries are beling loaded for every application. ....
2. Ignoring the errors, i attempted to update Windows. Will not complete windows updates. It fails each time. (only workaround was to install each upate individually. After going through 50 somthing updates, i was hoping the other issue would be resolved but nope....
I did a one key recovery back to intial status. No change. I contacted support, they sent me another laptop! Of course this was after a few hours of being transferred here to there, and at each stop having to give my name, number, serial#, email, ....well i'm sure you get the idea! So guess what support wants to do again...Send me another, as they claim its a hardware issue...and again after a few hours of the same...being transferred ..... i though i'd try to post here...
However before i give up...(Since the price of the hardware is a really great price $849) I am trying to find every reason to keep the laptop inspite of the poor customer support!
Any help would be appreciated....

Get rid of the laptop all together. I have the same computer and have had nothing but issues with it. I sent it to the depot to get repaired and it's been almost a month now and nothing is happening. This is the third time I call about it and they keep telling me that they're going to send an email to someone to have it escalated and to call back in 24 to 48 hours and still I have heard nothing.
I've spent countless hours on the phone trying to see what's going on. Honestly, it's been "getting repaired" longer than I've actually been able to use it. If you can, get rid of it and buy a laptop from some other company, definitely not worth the price.
