  • Ti4200 128mb Software Issues

I just purchased a TI4200 128mb card. I cannot get MSI 3D Turbo to run. It opens an IE window and gives an error message "The web page you are using is trying to close the window. MSIVGA.OCX initialization error". I am running the current MSI drivers for the card.  I have uninstalled the Turbo software and reinstalled it several times.
In addition I get the MSI VGA Monitor Warning Message constantly. I have no idea if it is correct. It shows the video card fan at 1687 rpm.
I get the feeling the MSI Software is not reliable. :D

Thanks for the referral to the other thread. I tried changing the security settings for Active X controls and it didn't help. Left a post there as well.
I am tempted to dump their software and drivers for the video card, install the NVIDIA drivers and some overclocking software. I have seen mixed comments concerning installing the NVIDIA drivers in terms of speed.
    I installed Dirrect X 9 so I can't benchmark with MadOnion.
Any thoughts on installing the NVIDA drivers?

  • [VIA] MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU and a MSI FX5900XT 128MB DDR Video Card

Does any body out there know if a MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU and a MSI FX5900XT 128MB DDR Video Card will work well together?

like the grayone say, is true. for more ensure, try and search the graphic cards support list for your board at MSI (Sorry cause i don,t no is  where the site located)
in my opinion, most is compability for your card, when is a AGP slot.
Except the new one like the AGP slot, call AGR( Accelaration Graphic Riser slot) that really need to find a compatibility graphic cards.....

  • MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 128mb, TV IN Capture

I recently purchaced a MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 128mb (VTD) and im unable to get the tv in to work. Ive installed the nvidia capture drivers and connected the s-video lead from my VCR to my card. Is there a program i need to open or somthing in order to capture?

first. after instaling the wdm driver yous system sholud recognize 4 new devices...
the most important for you is the Nvidia WDM Video Capture (universal) couze it is the device that will by used to capture the video signal....
now you shoul use some program to view the video signal... any editing software should have some module to capture the video.. also if you have a bundled inter video software instal the winocoder as it is one of best (for me) viewers of the video in signal....
to capture the video you can use the inter video software (mpeg1 mpeg2) but try to use virtualdub's capture module as it alows to capture to any instaled codec ...and it is for free (http://www.sourceforge.net), you can also use windows media player if you dont have any other software

  • MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB refresh problem

    Hi all!
I have following WinXP refresh problem:
When I set refresh rate to value bigger than 75Hz, system tells me that refresh rate was changed, but my monitor still shows me 75 Hz.
    My HW configuration:
    Athlon XP 2000+
    ABIT KD7 (VIA KT400 chipset)
    MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB
    IBM DeskStar 45GB 7200 rpm
    17" AOC 7GLr
I have tried various graphic card drivers (both drivers that were on CD supported by MSI and downloaded detonators from nVidia), for my monitor i have correct drivers from AOC. I was able to set refresh rate to 100Hz using PowerStrip 3.3. In SiSoft Sandra Professional i found warning, that i should use PnP/DDC compatible monitor or video adapter.
Guys from AOC support told me, that problem is probably in my graphic card.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance.  :(

I experienced the same problem with a new msi 440mx VTD (8x). I tried the latest detonator drivers (41.07 and 41.09) and could not get more than 75Hz refresh in any resolution, though the configuration told me it was 85Hz. In Monitor Inf my Iiyama MT-9017T has the specs 96kHz and 55-160Hz, that used to give me 1024x768@100Hz with my old graphics adapter.
    my configuration:
    Athlon XP 1600+
    Epox KTA3pro (KT133a)
    WIN2000

  • Ti4200 128mb instability... ???

i've read in one of the reviews of ti4200 128mb that ti4200 series cards are unstable... is this true based on the experience of those users who use the card???
** i've been using the card for less than a month but i don't see any sign of instability still... how bout other users???

    What review?
I never had any unstability with any GF4 on my system.
I have seen it quite often on others and systems I had to bang my head and spent countless hours trying to get things working properly. And it's all GF4 cards by several maunufacturers, I could even say it goes back farther than GF2's...what about ATI?
I have a workstation that had NT4 and an Nvidia Riva TNT 2, it had more problems than anything I have ever used, it was simply a defective card as I noticed my other workstation identical in every aspect, never had a problem.
Usually it's on a system that someone upgraded from an earlier version of MS/OS and didn't do a clean install or just simply don't have any experience with computers. A system that was just built and thrown together without any consideration as to how to populate PCI slots, perform due diligence on hardware compatability.
Of course there is the VIA issue, and the Powersupply issue, and the many correct and incorrect ways to load OS and system drivers. What about the n00b? ...ohh I kinda said that didn't I... 8o
I am in no way trying to say it's all from inexperienced users as it happens to everyone at some point and if it hasn't yet, you'd better pack a lunch just in case! Make sure it's non perishables
Thank the stars we have forums and news sites!
    "NeverEndingStory"
    So that's my take, I don't think it's just the 4200 series.
It is one of the better overclockers and a decent bang for the buck in my opinion.
    Sorry, I was bored

  • Ti4200 128MB problem

I am having a problem, all of the sudden.
I have been using my Ti4200 128MB 8X card for a few months now, but all of the sudden video performance has suddenely decreased, and it getting worse by the minute.  At first, games were getting choppy, but its to the point now where any 3D rendering slows the computer to a less the 1 FPM crawl.  I have tried new drivers...I am now using the latest detonator drivers, but I have tried different versions. I am running my system cool with plenty of fans.
I am running the card on a 4X agp Intel board, with a P4 1.7 and 512MB rambus with ECC. Windows XP. I have an Antec power supply.  My hardware configurations have not changed in anyway.
I also have been having a problem on a cold boot.  The computer will lock up and restart before completly booting...but after the first time, it is never an issue until the next cold boot, and I know it is related to the video card as well. Perhaps this is a sign that it I am going to completely lose the card?  Running the desktop and any other applciations (explorer, outlook, photshop, dreamweaver) are not problems.
    Any advice?
    Thanks!

Your a great moderator!  Fortunately, I dont see, nor have I seen any program attached to the virus, so I dont think its ever been used (i could be wrong).  I check my processes frequently for suspicious programs, and after installing new things.  I also check all the start up items in msconfig.
The only thing im not sure of is how to change the IRQ.  Do i need to switch from ACPI to APM (or whatever the other mode is) to do it, or should I just try moving PCI cards around?
    Thanks
    Erin

  • MOVED: Overclocking options for the RS480M2-IL?

This topic has been moved to Overclockers & Modding Corner.
    Overclocking options for the RS480M2-IL?

Thanks for the reply. That is disappointing.
There are a couple other micro-ATX board I've seen on the market. First is the WinFast/FoxConn CK804K8MA-KS, which can be found for the same price or less. But this is a really basic nForce4 (non-Ultra) board. And because it's a non-Ultra, the HyperTransport links are only 800MHz (1600MHz bus). Even if it has overclocking options, I wouldn't want to get it because of the weak HT link. Everything else for S939 is 1000MHz (2000MHz bus) HT. I'd have to overclock just to match the performance anyway. And it doesn't have any of the features that make the nForce4 Ultra great like SATAII, hardware firewall (it doesn't even use the nVidia gigabit LAN, but rather some Realtek solution), and so on. It's just a cheap board. That's why I was hoping the MSI might fit better.
The other board is a WinFast/FoxConn NF3UK8MA. It's an nForce3 Ultra S939 micro-ATX motherboard and seems like it could be nice, but I'm trying to get a PCI Express board. But it'd probably make for an ideal AGP solution. And it's HT1000MHz/FSB2000. The downside is, I don't know where you can buy this one separately. So far, I've seen it only listed on Monarch Computer System's Hornet builder webpage. They also had a listing for a WinFast/FoxConn NF4UK8MA board would would have been ideal, but now they only have the cheap CK804K8MA-KS.
I sure hope MSI adds some functionality to the BIOS or adds compatibility for CoreCenter. The RS480 chipset is supposed to be a killer overclocker and that combined with a 90nm Athlon64 would just scream. If I find anything, I'll let you know as well. Thanks for the reply.

  • Resolution problem with GF4 Ti4200-TD 128MB DDR

I am having problems when I switch my display resolution to 640x480x32.
It also affects any application which runs in the affected resolution.
I tried re-installing the VGA card in its AGP slot and its drivers after removing my previous VGA card and its drivers.
The driver that i am using for the MSI VGA card, which is 4.13.2890, is already updated via LiveUpdate, which is now 4.1.3.3000
    My system consists of:
      AOpen AX34 Pro Motherboard
      AGP 2X / 4X
      Intel Pentium III 800MHz
      512MB RAM
      Direct X 8.1
      Windows Me
Looking forward to you reply. Thank you for your help.

    izel,
Get the latest Via 4in1 Drivers and try running the Card in AGP 2X.  Do not expect much from the Via Apollo Pro 133 Chipset.  Lots of problems with the GART.

  • Overclocking the MSI Ti4200-VTD8X ?

i just got my Ti4200-VTD8X MS-8894 (good card )and would like to see if it's safe to overclock it.
what would be a fairly safe speed to clock this card (msi Ti4200-VTD8X) to ? , as i would like to overclock it to get a little more speed out of it

Download and install Coolbits and install it to your registry by double clicking it...
Then reboot, open Display properties and you'll see a new entry in the settings menu for the card...enable it..
Then tweak away a little at a time until you start seeing artifacts on your screen, 3DMark2001SE is a good program to test it with...
When you start seeing artifacts then back it off to the last setting that was good and you'll be there!!
    Cheers!! 8)
