Overclock settings

I need some recommended overclock settings to start with for Asus x99 deluxe, haswell 5930, 32gb 2666 ram, coolermaster 212evo cpu cooler, gtx970 gpu. This will be for premiere pro as well as after effects.

Why did you up the base clock vs just the multiplier?
Im running my 5960x at 4.4, and my core clock at 4.1.

Hi guy's. I bought an  i5 4670 processor and z87m-g43 motherboard about three days ago.  I have gtx560 1GB 256 bit, 8GB (2x4) 1600 mhz dual channel ram. I want overclocking but ı don't now OC settings and i think these can uploading from Usb. Can you tell me a highest overclocking settings or someone can give me these with folder ? Please answer

I finally found the answer after a little more web searching. You have to manually enter the ratio. There is no drop down or sub menu. Now I'm trying to figure out why Windows 7 only sees a 3.4 ghz cpu..
Where do you enter the ratio though?

  • Overclocking settings?

i was just wondering if there is anyone that can give me some good overclocking settings for the amd 64 3000+ and k8n neo platinum mobo. i have stock cooling, but my temps usually read 40C idle. any help would be appreciated. my sig should contain everything about my pc setup.

u may need to relax ur ram timings.. 2,2,2,5 is quite tight while overclocking
also, a decent heatsink n fan combo will pay u good dividends when overclocking.
remember tho, overclocking is purely luck..athlon 64 overclocking is very dependant on manufacturing process...
mine is rock stable at 2.4Ghz at 1.55v...i cannot get it stable at 2.5GHz even with 1.7v :(
    even using ram dividers
drop ur timings a lil on ram then try again and see how far u can push with a lil vcore increase
make sure ur AGP is set to 67 to make sure the lock is in effect
    Good Luck dude

  • Alternative to MSI drivers with overclock settings too! (UPDATED)

    Hello all,
Well, this has been posted a lot and I just wanted it here plain as day so we don't have to keep posting with this same answer.
Many times, due to poor configuration. or any number of reasons the MSI drivers overclocking can be a bit on the buggy side, Coolbits is one of the best basic alternatives, and what you should be using anyway for overclocking and setting your card's options, however, in some cases the MSI drivers may be the only thing that works for your sytem, so this may not be for you, the only way to tell is to try it and see.
Of course there are other utilities like Riva Tuner and nVtweak, that can take settings to another level of tweakdom, but for simplicity purposes Coolbits is the basics.
    Driver Information
Download the latest Drivers from the nVidia Website. Again, you may have to search the internet for a previous version that works better for your configuration. you can go to http://driverheaven.net where they have a whole archive full of previous versions.
Also, you can go directly to nVidia's FTP site and get all the past versions here ftp://download1.nvidia.com/windows
While you are at Driverheaven, download and install the utility called Driver Cleaner, or go directly to the site dedicated to the utility http://www.drivercleaner.net
Read and follow the instructions that come with this utility PLEASE.
QI have MSI drivers installed but the Tabs are still present in Display Properties, how do I remove them?
A MSI's clock tabs are controlled by msicpl.dll and will not removed, you will manually have to eradicate the file yourself. It should be in the windows directory but if you cannot find it just do a search.
Keep in mind that XP's System Restore can also complicate things, while I won't recommend disabling it, it's something to think about.
    *Supplimental Information*
With the intoduction of MSI's DOT Overclocking DOT Explained utility, some of the guesswork is taken out of the art of overclocking your card, however, don't assume that it is safe. Overclocking in ANY case can damage hardware if not done properly. One must take proper measures in cooling, and become educated in the dynamics of overclocking in order to get the best results. Just remember that heat shortens the life of any component, overclocking simply accelerates it. Liken it to smoking, one will most likely have a shorter lifespan, or have health problems. Some may live a normal lifespan, but the former is usually the case.

  • Need help finding overclocking settings in BIOS on my Z97 Gaming 7

    Hello Folks!
As the title states I need some help finding some settings in the BIOS to help in overclocking on my awesome new MSI Z97 Gaming 7 mobo! For instance I can't find anything related to Load Line Calibration, LLC. I am unable to find additional settings for PLL and what the settings that are there do, for instance CPU PLL, the options are something like LL and SB? There is no explanation for what either of these are. These may be pretty basic things in overclocking Intel. I should also mention that I am new to Intel processors and their mobo's. I have always used AMD cpu's and overclocking seemed a bit more straight forward. This is also the first MSI motherboard I have owned so I am also new to these. I have been a great fan of MSI GPU's for years and finally had the chance to buy a motherboard and while it has been a great experience thus far I seem to be slighty behind the learning curve here. I do appreciate all the help I am able to get. I have read the guides that I have seen others pointed towards and have not really found the information I am looking for there.

Nichrome, thank you for the heads up concerning placing my rig info into my signature, I will do that immediately. Thanks for trying to help. I really do appreciate it. I am very familiar with overclocking on the AMD platform. I have previously owned and abused the PhenomII 965BE, 1055T FX-8320 and FX-8350. I guess switching from AMD to Intel and being confronted by so many new terms and settings in the BIOS I was kind of lost. I wasn't really too concerned with the PLL per say other than just desiring to know as much about my new system and motherboard as possible. I have always been a firm believer that to get the most out of your equipment you need to know it intimately, I guess I will get there with a bit of time and perseverance! I was really mainly trying to figure out where the LLC settings would be hidden or what they would be known as with an Intel based system, this setting is usually quite important when trying to stabilize higher overclocks. I am currently running and tinkering with an OC speed of 4.7-4.8GHz @ 1.275v with temps staying ~55C. I was hoping to push a little further and was trying to give myself the best possible advantage in doing so. Again, thanks for the help and information!!!

  • KT6 FISR -XP2500 Barton Overclock Settings !

I would like to know what FSB/Multiplier settings people are using with their KT6 FISR (or FIS2R) M/B and the XP2500 Barton CPU. I have had my CPU up to 2004MHz only (11 x 167) without any problems but, rather than proceed any further and "cook" my CPU, I would like information from people that are running higher settings with good stability and acceptable CPU temps.

Yes I'm saying If you buy a 2500 barton, you can try and overclock it at 200x11, if it isn't stable increase voltage a little bit, to 1.75 or even 1.80 IF YOU HAVE A GOOD COOLER.
    The most important is that it must be stable in windows and games;
in super-heavy-stressssss tests such as Prime95 it may fail... it almost doesn't even affect real world applications.
And another point, DON't buy a 2500 barton and leave it at 166x11.
2500 barton are way slower than 2400 tbreds, are more expensive, as I've found (I had one until a few day ago), and you can easily give an athlon 2400 a slight 100mhz boost by just uppering the FSB to, say 140, at no cost...
Consider this, my ex 2400 tbred @ 2100mhz (140x15), in SuperPI test it totalled 58 seconds, In stead the 2500 barton scored 1.00 minute.
Not to mention the tbred is cooler...
Definitively barton is not that "discover".
It's only a mediocre core in spec use...
    The best were tbreds.

  • [AMD] MSI Neo4-f 3500+ overclock settings

    I have the following setup...
    MSI K8N Neo4-F
    AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Antec Sonata II with 450Watt SmartPower 2.0 PSU
PowerColor ATI Radeon X800 GT 256MB
    100GB Maxtor SATA drive
    CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM (TWINX1024-3200C2PT)
I have been trying to set up my BIOS settings to achieve a nice balance between performance and stability.  I am not seeing great performance at this time (tons of HD paging and slow bootup and application launch times) and when I try to boost the settings at all the system becomes unstable.  Wondering if anyone out there has a similar setup to me and can help me achieve some better performance at a light overclock setting.  There are so many BIOS settings it is difficult to find a good combination which works.
    Thanks in advance.

    Bekoz -
Hello.  I have the exact same motherboard, cpu, and memory as you!  I'm having no luck with the overclocking and all but gave up.  The best I could get is going from 2.2 stock on the venice 3500+ to 2.4 equiv. to a 3800+.  Please see my old post from another forum below.  I'm wondering since we have the same setup what the best is that you have achieved.  Thanx!!!
    Hi All -
I'm kinda new to the planet and to actually trying to OC my system but have been reading on this subject for several weeks now and following the guidelines and multiple threads here. I'm not having the best of luck though.  I've been messing all weekend with the overclocking on my MSI Neo4-f board.  I think it either is a crappy board for OC'ing (would like an ASUS A8N SLI deluxe which I hear is good for OC) or I'm not doing something right.  I had no luck with the 1.9 bios (couldn't get it over 240HTT without something going wrong) and flashed back to 1.6 cuz I heard this is a better bios to OC.  I can't get it to post with an HTT over 250 now even though it is 10 better than with the 1.9.  I've tried changing the memory timings from 1T to 2T and CAS from 2 to 2.5 (corsair suggests 2-3-3-6 1T and 2.75V for AMD platforms) and changing the volts and divider.  I originally was running memory at 2.5-3-3-6 2T but had better PC Mark #'s with the 2-3-3-6 1T.  I also messed with the cpu volts and multiplier, as well as the chipset voltage all in different varieties and the best I could get out of my Athlon 64 3500+ venice was only 2.4ghz from the stock 2.2ghz!!!  Not too good compared to what I've read others have achieved here with an Athlon 64 3500+.
    Here's my system specs:
    -MSI K8N Neo4-F motherboard with 1.6 bios
-Athlon 64 3500+ Venice with ThermalTake Venus 12 fan and artic silver 3
-1gig Corsair XMS TwinX1024 Dual Channel PC3200 Platinum (2x512) with suggested timings 2-3-3-6 at 2.75 volts
    -EVGA 6800GT OC'ed at 416mhz core and 1.134ghz memory
-500W p.s. with air-cooled case and two fans
    -XP (32 bit) OS
Here's my settings in the BIOS right now where my system is stable (let me know if something jumps out at you as being screwed up or not normal):
    -Memory Divider / speed = 166 (from 200 stock)
-Memory timings = 2-3-3-6 at 2.75volts and 1T (dual channel in slots 1 & 2 for paired memory)
    -HTT / FSB = 240
    -HT multiplier = 4x (960 HT)
    -CPU ratio / multiplier = 10x (2.4ghz CPU from 2.2)
-VCORE = 1.45v (using 1.4 plus 3.3% over option) for a total of 1.45 volts
    -Memory = 2.75v
    -Chipset NF4 = 1.5v
    -Cool & Quiet Disabled
    -CPU Spread Spectrum Disabled
    -Aggressive Timing Disabled
I've done the CPU-ID, Memtest, Prime 95, and Super PI tests for quite a while and everything seems stable at these settings now.  I got some higher HTT's and cpu multipliers (10.5x) but system either wouldn't post or windows wouldn't boot all the way or the tests failed in Prime 95 after a few minutes.  Under load, the CPU goes to about 40 degrees and at idle it is at about 32 degrees.
My scores with the above settings are:
    PC Mark 04 = 4684
    3D Mark 01 = 24433
    3D Mark 05 = 5049
Any advice or opinions would be awesome.  I can't figure out what my bottleneck is here.  I think the memory I have is great for overclocking, as is the 3500+ Venice.  Also, how do these scores sound for my specs?  Thanx again for everyone's advice and help!

  • MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R/P4 2.4C/Corsair XMS 3200 Overclock Settings?

Sorry to bother everyone.  I'm going to be switching out my Intel 865PERL cause it only offers a 4% overclock, so I'm barerely scratching 2.5Ghz.
Plus, the funky lights on the MSI board will go nice with my all-red lit case.  Anyway, back to the matter at hand:
All I've really been able to find online is information geared towards the 865 Neo-FIS2R model and overclocking, plus the stuff on the Corsair XMS PC3200 seems to all be posted prior to JEDEC approving the 3200 standard.  So all the overclock info is back when they were using the XMS 3200 with AMD processors and overclocking to reach 400FSB or a bit higher.
I was hoping to get my 2.4C Ghz w/800mhz FSB up to a good 2.7Ghz, maybe even 3.0Ghz.  And I want to bump up my DDR as well (I assume I'll have to anyway, and lock my multipliers on the PCI and AGP ports?)  I have an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro All-In-Wonder.
I wasn't sure what I should set the DDR to (I have 2x256MB modules that will run in dual-channel)
I use Artic Silver III or 5 Thermal Paste, and I have six case fans (one top blowhole, one side window, two front intake, two rear pushing air out, plus PSU, CPU, northbridge, etc.)
While I've built systems for quite a few years now, I'm fairly new to overclocking and wasn't sure where I should begin?  Thanks for any help with settings advice!

Alright, while I wait for the new memory to arrive, I decided to get a headstart on my first overclocking attempts.
I installed the new PSU and set to work.  Here is where I ended up:
    BIOS SETTINGS
    DRAM=333mhz (underclocked 400mhz DDR)
    Spread Spectrum=Disabled
    CPU Clock=224
    AGP/PCI= 67.01/33.50
    CPU VCore = 1.5250V
    DDR Voltage= 2.50V
    AGP Voltage = 1.60V
This setup is stable insofar as it gets my system to boot into windows.  I haven't done much else with it as of yet.
If I try a 225 CPU Clock then my system won't boot and I have to clear the CMOS.  I tried this with my DDR at 266 and 333 (and it's 400mhz rated and has worked at the speed just fine before, so I don't think it's the Corsair XMS stuff)
Do I need to increase the Voltage to my CPU in order for this to work or is there something else I'm missing?  I figured I should be able to get this 2.6 up to 3.0 easy, and was hoping to shoot for somewhere between 3.2 and 3.7 if possible.
My CPU is labeled Malaysia, and I've heard those tend to overclock pretty well.  Inside my case the heatsink is cool to the touch, as are my hard drives.  Sound Card is a bit warm, but nothing crazy.  My ATI card is pretty hot though, although the increase from 66 to 67.01 on the AGP port shouldn't be too bad, and from what I recall this sucker was always hot anyway.

  • Recommended overclocked settings for Ti 4200 with AGP8X?

I was wondering which are the best settings or recommended for overclocking a Ti4200 with AGP 8X.
I searched and notice that people talk about how to when to'???.. but no one says what is the recommendation.. or jsut i have to begin trying numbers and see what happens??..
    Thanks!

    Hola Next_Gate,
I guess I am following all over this forum now. :D
As a rule of thumb, the Core will go 25 to 50Mhz over spec, but there is little performance to be gained by overclocking the Core. Your real gain is from the RAM.
RAM overclocking with a Vid Card is pot luck. It all depends on the RAM on the particular card you have in your comp. Two identical cards will have different overclocks.  If you are going to overclock it, do a 15 to 25Mhz jump the first time, and then from there only a couple of Mhz at a time. I use 3DMark2001SE to test my overclock.  If it makes it, I bump it up some more and test again, etc.
If 3DMark2001SE locks, I shut the computer off immediately and lower my overclock. If I start getting garbage on the screen during 3DMark2001SE, I hit the ESC key and lower my overclock.
Be Warned: This has a very good chance of turning your Vid Card in to a very expencive Key Chain. You have to be happy with the possibility of destroying your Vid Card. If you cannot live with that, DO NOT OVERCLOCK.
    Saludos,
    Ricardo

  • K8N Neo2: How to boot after bad overclock settings?

Does anyone know - is holding the <insert> key down whilst booting supposed to work on the K8N Neo2?  i.e. reset the clock speed back to safe settings?
I have a new 4800+ processor that I have been trying and it doesn't like high memory bus speeds.  I keep trying an overclock setting (in the BIOS) and then finding it won't post.  Then I have to clear the cmos and re-enter all of the bios settings from scratch again.  Its becoming a right pain in the backside, to be honest.
I thought you were supposed to be able to just hold the insert key down on power up and it should boot with safe settings?
Or am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks
    Chip

The insert thing only worked for me a few times. If I recall correctly, you need to power down everything, including the PSU itself. Then, hold the insert key, power up the PSU and then hit the power button on the case...The only thing is, and I don't know if it is BIOS version related or what, it will sometimes power on when you hit the switch on the back of the PSU.
If you are messing with it that much, then I suggest using some Windows apps to OC. Get the BIOS set up with some decent OC'd settings, stable ones. Then use apps like Core Center(voltages), A64 Tweaker(memory) and Clock gen(clock speed) to work things out in Windows. Once you have some good settings going in Windows, restart and set it up in the BIOS. This way, if you set something wrong in Windows and the PC hangs or restarts on its own, it will restart with the good BIOS settings that you know will work...Then you make note of what not to do, lol, and continue on...I hope that helps a little...Good Luck.

  • Re: z68a-gd80-g3 i7 2600k overclocking settings

Hi...my name is Gilang. I'm Indonesian, soory for my bad in English. I have problems to overclock my intel core i7 2600k on MSI Z68A-GD80 (G3). My cpu ratio always back to default after I save settings my bios.
    1. Enter Standard Mode
    2. Change "Adjust CPU Ratio" to 45
    3. "Adjust CPU Ratio" - Disabled
    4. Internal PLL Overvoltage - Enabled
    5. EIST - Disabled
    6. Spread Spectrum - Disabled
    7. Vdroop control - Low Vdroop
    8. CPU Core Voltage - 1.375V
    9. CPU Features:
      9.1. Hyper Threading - Enabled
9.2. Limit CPUID Maximum - Disabled
      9.3. Power Technology - Disable
      9.4. C1E Support - Disabled
      9.5. Overspeed Protection - Disabled
    10. EuP 2013 - Disabled
    11. CPU Phase Control - APS Mode
    12. Others are in default
Then I save overclocking profiles to overclocking profiles 1, but when I go to mainboard settings, then I enter save and exit, then I save changes, yes, and when I go back to my OC Settings, the CPU ratio back to default (34x). I really confused about this. Can u help me??why the cpu ratio always back to normal??
Version E7672IMS V18.2...really need your help guys..

Recommend as a first step, return everything to Auto/Stock/Defaults & update to the latest UEFI/BIOS version. Please use the forum's USB Flashing Tool, & be sure after a flash, to remove the PSU power cord, the battery for awhile, do a CMOS clear, reset & retest. Jack's Reply #86 is the newest to date:

  • Z77MA-G45 w/ i5-3570K overclock settings (screen shots)?

    Hello,
I have a Z77MA-G45 MB (bios v1.7) w/ i5-3570K cpu and would like to overclock. New to overclocking so was hoping I could just find a template or screen shots and copy the respective settings.. and avoid "reinventing the wheel!" Performed a search in this forum with no luck.. unless I missed something?
Currently all the settings under the 'Overclocking' section of the bios are the factory defaults. I see the 'Adjust CPU Ratio' and would like to enter '43' to achieve 4.3 GHz but then I'm not sure what other settings are relevant and which I can just leave at the defaults.
Any help would be much appreciated!

    Something in this thread should help. Since you have a 'k' CPU, it should be even easier;

  • Recommended Overclocked settings for 2400+

Ok, made a previous post earlier about RAM problem and someone said that setting the ratio of 1:1 for cpu/ram would help my ram problem
    it did slightly
So what I did is, my FSB is now at 145
its running fine.. my 2400+ (1996.6mhz) is now running at 2179.33mhz, not bad, I haven't really changed.. it does get a little unstable at 146 though, but I don't change any voltage or anything
so I'm curious to know what would be quality settings, and how far I could push this thing, with just a Vantech Aeroflow heatsink.. so far my temps are 44(CPU) and 40(system)
my multiplier is currently at 15..
    any heads up?

I haven't had to do that because I just increased my fsb from 133 to 166, I didn't have to change the cpu voltage, but if you're getting some instability maybe you could try bumping up the voltage a little bit? As you can see in my sig I have my 2100+ running at the same speed as you've got yours at, so I'd think you should be able to get more.
Also, about the temps, don't worry unless you start getting and staying over ~60 celsius, I seem to be stuck, can't ever get below 52 celsius idle, but have yet to get over 57 celsius under full load

don't really need more power, the only thing I want, is USB2.0, Firewire400, optical audio output, onboard Raid and some more oc features
Well, you'll like the KT6 Delta FIS2R for sure.
Of all the mobo's ive studied, none have as many USB2 inputs on the back of the board where all the other ports are. This has 6 ready for direct use without any pci slot blocking dongles. (8 with the USB2/Diagnostic lights dongle installed).
It sure has optical output, but the sound quality from it isnt as good as an Audigy.
The promise controller is very good, letting you use 2 PATA and 2 SATA at the same time.
Firewire use a pci slot blocking dongle but has 3 sockets (2 big and 1 small)
As for OC, ive tried above 200mhz FSB (208 Mhz) but it was a little unstable, not sure why, never really tested it out.
