Overdrive media console for downloading digital media from library
new hp laptop has windows 7 I can download audio books from library (NC digital library). But when I click to play book nothing happens. A small circle spins a one second. Can you help me find the right path to get this to work?
yes, yes, and yes. Now it's worse. when the display goes in stand by it shuts down. I am now installing the latest iphone version and seeing if it helps. I have gone to getting audible books.
What's changed is that i got an ipad and kindle and am syncing between devices for books from amazon.
On i side note why i am not running latest version of iphone. I stayed away from syncing or upgrading the iphone from laptop because of previously losing all data. Apples answer was that I should use more than their itunes software for backup since they don't maintain multiple versions. (during version upgrade the backup it took was corrupted thereby losing data of last good backup) so any istore app that had data was lost.

I use an Mac OSX 10.6.8 with iPhoto 09 to download digital images from two Canon DSLRs. Until the last week, there has been no problem whatever in launching the import procedure once the USB connection has been connected and the camera switched on. Now the process will not kick in at all for either camera. I can't find a solution through iPhoto help or from other sources.
Any ideas to fix? (I admit I have not tested the USB cable at this time).What does "kick in" mean?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

I have been charged for downloading Indira Budiman from itunes multiple times, how to report to itunes? Is anybody else also having problems like this? And also need to know how to block them from charging again?
I don't know who/what Indira Budiman is, but you can contact iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If it's an app then does it allow you to make in-app purchases within it ? If it does then you can turn off in-app purchases via Settings > General > Restrictions on your device. -
HT1351 Using OverDrive Media from my library I can't transfer audiobooks to my ipod classic
Can anyone tell me how to configure my ipod Classic so I can transfer audiobooks from the library using OverDrive Media. These particular books are labeled "ipod compatible" but when I try to transfer, after downloading to my computer, I get an error message saying they can't be transferred to my ipod. I selected the option on my ipod to manually manage something which I know requires that I eject my ipod before disconnecting it from the computer. Any other help?
What format are these audiobook tracks in? If it's the WAV format it will not work with the iPod Classic. You'll want to use the MP3 version instead from OverDrive.

Using digital editions 2.0, I cannot transfer books downloaded to digital editions from the library to my nook. I get an error message: failed to write destination file. At first, this happened once in a while but now every time. Help!!!
Modern kobo books should just use regular Adobe DRM and be readable on compatible ereaders that are authorized to the correct Adobe ID.

When Adobe DRM book information say 'no copying', that generally means no copying outside those Adobe DRM limitations.
You should be able to copy within the restrictions. You can double-check that with the sellers (Kobo).

menu/Help/Authorize Device when plugged into ADE: Library/Authorize Device if using the older more reliable ADE 1.7.2
If the pocket book is already authorized but to a different ID, you will need to deauthorize it first, ctrl-shift-E to ADE with device plugged in (or cmd-shift-E on Mac).
Be aware that will lose the ability to read DRM books authorized with the previous ID. -
Downloading digital video from camcorder using USB
I know this is not really a new topic, but I am new to all this and can't figure out how to post to an existing topic which addresses it. I found a posting which says I can download digital video by opening "Image Capture" and under preferences telling what I want done when a USB camcorder is connected. I find that preferences does not specifically ask about USB, but does ask, when a camcorder is connected, if I want to open Image Capture, IPhoto, or no application. I selected Image Capture, connected the camcorder through a USB port, set the camcorder to play/edit, and got nothing, no acknowledgement that the computer recognizes the presence of the camcorder. Now what?
Well, I tried Firewire, which I thought myself would solve the problem. Bought a new Firewire cable because I have never had one. Plugged the 4-pin into my camcorder, and the 6-pin into a Firewire port on my eMac. Turned the camcorder on to Play/edit, which is the playback setting. No indication on the computer that the camcorder is connected. Tried Image Capture, iPhoto, iDVD, and iMovie. None of them gave me anything. I suppose there is a slim possibility that the cable is defective, but I don't have any other Firewire peripherals, so I don't know how to check it. Any suggestions on that or any other way to troubleshoot? I also tried playback of a video in the camcorder. It plays fine internally, but still no response from the computer.

Error Downloading Digital Copy from Purchased Blu-Ray
Having Trouble downloading digital copy of purchased Blu-Ray. I am logged in, have active internet, and i get an error with a -50 code. It says please check that the connection to the network is active. I'm confused
If those films are only in HD in the store then you will only be able to get the HD versions - what options do the films have against them in the store (HD only, HD and SD ?), and (if the SD version is in the store) if you go to the Purchased link Quick Links on the right-had side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes do you get the option of downloading an SD version of them ?
The 'sync SD' version setting only works if you have the SD and HD versions in your iTunes library, if you don't then it will only sync what you have i.e. the HD version. -

If you have to delete apps in order to download the video chances are you still do not have enough free space on your iPhone for that video to run smoothly.

The iWork apps are normally paid apps unless you qualify for them for free. And when you qualify to get them free, the button says free.
You will receive an emailed receipt for the purchase. Use the Report a Problem link to make your request for a refund. It may or it may not happen. Apple considers all sales final. -
Downloaded 2 books from library but can't open them invalid Why?
Been using Overdrive Media Console for 2 yrs without a hitch & without having to sign in. Now asked to sign in which I have done an innumerable times with no success. Have changed my password, turned off IPad & on again. Librarian said Adobe support told them that I had too many devises with the same user name. However, I have only this devise I use for using Overdrive. I do not read on any other devise.Can someone help me out & tell me what I have to do to fix this?I would prefer not deleting the app & starting again but that was my next option. Thanks. Carole

welcome to this forum! I gather from your information that you are not ON-LINE when you try to open the message. Most likely you are using a phone-in acount and somewhere in your acccount settings, messages over a certain size (e.g. 30kB) are left on the server. You have to decide that you want to receive them, reconnect to your server and than the whole message is downloaded to your computer! So I've fixed the activation error, but when trying to get an ebook from the sample site I'm now getting "LICENSE_SIGN_ERROR." And I'm still getting the license error (CANNOT_OPEN) when trying to download library books, no matter how many times I de/reauthorize ADE, restart the computer and the program, and try to dl the book from the library website.
Thanks for any additional advice!
Edit, a few days later - still experiencing the problem, no matter how many times I try to download the library book I get the same error. Any ideas? Thanks @shreya -
Downloading rented movie from library to ATV
I rented a movie from itunes and downloaded it on my laptop. I have not watched the movie yet and I wanted to watch it on Apple TV (ATV). I open my itunes and it is listed on rented movies and gives me an option to "move" from library to ATV (only after I downloaded the new update), but it will not sync to the ATV. The syncing starts but then 10 sec later just returns to the orignal screen without transfer. Suggestions???
Only the newest iPods (Touch, iPhone, Classic, 3rd gen Nano) support rental movies. You've posted in the forum for a much older iPod, one that doesn't supprt videos of any kind. Which iPod do you actually have? When did you buy it?

Download digital copy from another computer
I am out of town visiting family and I bought a diney movie with digital copy to put on my ipad. I installed itunes on my moms computer then downloaded the movie. Itunes only shows that movie downloaded and one other. I have 3 on my ipad. When I try and sync the new movie to my ipad it wants to delete the 3 I have on my ipad then only put 2 back. I can't redownload the disney movie to my computer at home nor can I sync the movies from home back to my ipad without losing the newest movie. Is there something I'm missing when I am trying to sync my ipad?
iTunes is designed so that devices sync with a single library. Depending on the terms that apply to the movie in question having redeemed the code it may show up on the device under iTunes > Purchased > Movies > Not on this iPad for you to steam/download to the device. Otherwise put the copy you have downloaded onto a memory stick, take it home and add it to your library later.
If you've really managed to confuse the device and it wants to start deleting things when you get it home see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Downloading epub files from library into digital editions 2
I am unable to download from my library to digital editions 2. They told me to make sure the acsm and epub files are pointing to Digital Editions, which they are, they also had me uninstall and reinstall the adobe digital editions which I've done. I have even tried using different browsers all of which the same problem exists. Please help this is so frustrating I am using a toshiba 32-bit operating system with Windows Vista and firefox browser. I have also disabled my firewalls and still nothing is working. Please help me someone..... I have searched for help and it appears there is a problem with the newest version of Digital editions, but I cannot find anywhere where I can try installing a lower version of this application.

(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)

The problem i have been encountered with is...
Some URL's does not return any bytes, The code is not totally broken. In such cases, my code is hanging off at that particular URL and waiting to get some output data from the URL. The execution does not proceed furthur But if the URL is a totally broken link, the code is throwing an exception and I am able to handle it successfully.
But in the case of partially broken links, I am not able to go furthur because the code keeps waiting to get some data.
So for this reason I want to setup a timer and tell the code to wait for 5-10 min, in that time if it does not get any data, proceed furthur to download other links...
Please tell me how can I do this.. or plzzz tell me an alternative...
