Overhead Paging with Callmanager

I am finding all sorts of information about setting up paging through phones on CallManager Express. What about CallManager? I can't find anything on this. I've found commands such as ephone-dn, but this doesn't apply to a 2800 series router or CallManager. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

We install a paging system mainly for our warehouses using the following equip.:
1 ata-186
1 Valcom paging control
x paging horns w/volume controls and powered by a Valcom power adapter.
This works very good. The ata is configured with a DN (cti route point). I'm pretty sure you could have multiple zones configured.
A different way that I learned last week is to use 7960 phones and assign 2 dn for paging, where 1 is the paging ext. # and the 2nd is set to autoanswer. Drawback: you need 7960s all over the place.
Also I'm looking into the possibility of using one of Valcom's IP speakers PoE (vip-410) to replace the paging control adapter+ata. Berbee has another IP speaker but it's more expensive ($750).

Anybody have any experiance with providing Overhead Paging with a Hosted VOIP system using Linksys SPA942 phones? I currently use a hosted service called Vocalocity and need to now provide overhead paging to one of our sites.

I don’t think this is possible since usually this paging opting is used with accordance with the registration from the SPA9000. I am not quite certain if this will be able to work with certain VoIP providers but if it does they should have paging capability and the paging code might also change. I suggest contacting your VoIP provider and Cisco Tech support to further look into your concern. I believe this unit belongs to the business series devices that Cisco is now supporting. Overhead Paging with Cisco Berbee InformaCast - Caller ID when paging

Hello, I'm using Cisco Berbee InformaCast with a Bogen overhead paging system. I have Call Manager 6.1.4 and would like to know if there is a way to broadcast the name/number of the IP Phone from which the page originated. If anyone knows of a means of achieving this I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Well, not sure why I haven't received any suggestions from anyone. I find it
hard to believe that there isn't anyone else who has the same need. After going from TAC to SingleWire Support here's what I have:
there is a way to have InformaCast display within message text the extension that sent a page. The only catch we were running into with your current implementation was ReliCast. If you're using a ReliCast dial pattern to page, then all InformaCast would display is the ReliCast CTI port that "called" InformaCast to make the page. It was my hope that there was a way to have the source of that trigger displayed in the reporting feature of InformaCast 7. Unfortunately InformaCast would produce the same Information. It would see the calling device as the ReliCast CTI port and log/report that information.
A possible solution to this issue, a panic button. You could setup one of the line appearance buttons on a users phone as an emergency live all page. Then, we can just add a bit of "script" to it that would display the time, day, and source device that made the page.
For example, you can create a new page type using a combination of Text and Live Audio. In the Short Text section of the message you could place the following:
"Panic Button Triggered at ${time} on ${date} by ext ${senderInfo.directoryNumbers}"

ATA-186 with overhead paging systems

Since the ATA-186 supplies 600 Ohms, would I need a seperate device such as a Bogen TAM-B to supplie the audio for overhead paging, or could I just use the ATA-186?

ATA-186 can be used as an audio source.

Music over Overhead paging

Is it possible to initiate playing music over an Valcom overhead paging by either dialing a DN or scheduling?

depending on the model of valcom controller you have, it should have a background music input... the 2003 & 2006 controllers do, for instance. Connect the source to that & then put your source on a schedule/timer...
That way you're not tying up your paging port for the music -- you can still connect paging to the fxs or fxo port & when you page it will mute the music. If you connect your music into the system port (the fxs or fxo port, depending on model) -- you can't use the unit for paging while you're playing music, because the port is busy with the music...

Overhead Paging

Does this spa122 support overhead paging for a legacy system? We have been trying to use a spa112 but can not figure out a way for the device to auto-answer to allw media to flow through. We need to set this up so that when the extension is dialed, it picks up automatically and streams through to the intercom speakers.

While I'm not trying to take away from Mikael's suggestion, the way I do it (which was implemented before the existence of "OracleCachedRowSet") is to maintain a scrollable "ResultSet" on the server, and send "Collection"s to the client. But beware of very large "ResultSet"s, because the Oracle JDBC driver implements scrollable "ResultSet"s via client memory.
In any case, paging has been discussed previously in this forum. Did you try searching the forum archives?

Good question! The simple answer is, I haven't the foggiest idea. I will be going abroad, so don't know what kind of OHP i will have to use. I have a lead that connects with a tv (HDMI - I think). But am not sure about OHPs.

i have a database and connected it, selected a table and created a service.
my table have a four coloumn. id - img - tag - date
id : as you know. table id coloumn auto increment.
img : long text area. i want to listed to page when clicking the menu item.
tag : tag is title of the img.
date : standart date coloumn.
i want to listing all data with menu style. i added to spinner list and it get to value at database tag (title) .
how can i listing to text (long text area) in to the img coloumn when selected the tag (title) at spinner list.

Griffin iMic fixed audio with callmanager 5.0

Has anyone had any luck getting the Griffin iMic USB fixed audio adapter working with CallManager 5.0 linux? Do I need to load any special drivers on the server?

I went through the Griffin iMic issue a month ago for an existing CCM 4.1 deployment.
After seeing on Griffin's website that their iMic is/was only certified for Windows XP and Mac OSX, I contacted their tech support. Below is their response to the Cisco MoH URL.
"That page is a Cisco document, not a Griffin document. We have never claimed compatibility with that system on our website or in any of our documentation. We have contacted Cisco a number of times asking them to remove the document because it has not been authorized by our company. If Cisco says they support it, then perhaps try contacting them, but we do not support the use of iMic in any other systems than Mac OSX and Windows XP SP 2."
I contacted the TAC and was given the same information that was found in the MoH documentation. No clarification.
I then contacted Cisco's PDI help desk and received the below responses.
Initial response: "The iMic cards that were supported are no longer in production. If you were able to get an older iMic card that supported Windows 2000, it will work with on the CallManager 3.3 servers, and will be supported by Cisco TAC. But the newer iMic2 cards are not supported."
Final response: "Since those cards are no longer available, we do not have a supported sound card for CallManager 4.x. I'm not sure if this is a valid option for you or not, but in a few weeks Cisco will have it's own sound card for CallManager 5.0, you could upgrade your CallManager."

How much overhead associated with messages?

So I was trying to figure out why my application seems to keep adding memory every time I turned my NSTimer call on to execute code every second. I couldn't find any memory leaks but there was a stack that appeared to keep growing because of objc_msgSend calls. Is there a lot of overhead associated with calling a method every second that I'm missing? I can't imagine the caching of pointers would take up that much memory for something so basic.
Also, I currently make a call to a parent view. I didn't know if there was a way to fire a 'global' event that all objects could just listen for.
This documentation helped, but didn't provide any real solution as to why I was losing memory or how to possibly turn off caching.

Remove the Apple ID from any iPhone you don't want it linked to.
On the Mac go to the Messages app and Sign Out of the Apple ID in iMessages account.
Quit the App.
Now open a Finder window
In the Go Menu use the ALT key at the same time and select the Library that appears.
In here navigate to the Preferences folder.
Delete the com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist file (Drag to Trash).
This will delete all Aliases and Alternatives in the iMessages account.
Re-open Messages and Add the Apple ID you want to use.
Now Add the Apple ID to any iPhone you do want to use it with.
Restart Messages on the Mac and when the pop ups appear to say what the iPhone is using Accept the option.
If any iPhone number appears in a pop up that you do not want to use then Deny the pop up.
(it will still add the Apple ID or phone number to the Alternative/Aliases list and the Start Conversation From drop down but they will not be active).
Basically once any two iPhone number become linked via iMessages it is very difficult to remove this link.
An Additional iPhone number on your iPhone as an alternative cannot be removed.
Only deleting the .plist will remove it (at that point in time) on the Mac.
Whilst denying fresh pop ups helps the items still seem to be listed.
I have two iPhones using two different Apple IDs and obviously two numbers along with an iPad and the Mac running Messages.
Periodically each devices gets a pop up saying Messages is trying to display all the options on all devices again
As William said the simplest method is to Untick the item in the list of Alternatives.

For 24 hours I’d like to run Unity Connection 1.2(1) which has SCCP ports with CallManager 8.5(1). Unity Connection 1.2 isn’t supported anymore, we are migrating to Unity Connection 8.5(1) but I wanted to do CallManager 4x to 8x upgrade the first night, and Unity Connection 1.2 to 8.5 upgrade the second night. All new hardware so using DMA and COBRAS.
I'm not looking for it to be "Supported" just want it to work 24 hours while migrating...
Unity Connection 1.x Compatability Matrix will likely never show CallManager 8.5 since UC 1.x is EoL

The primary factor in the integration here for SCCP is the TSP version. You can verify the version of TSP running on Unity Connection with the procedure noted here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/1x/release/notes/121sr2ucrn.html#wp37944
It's a Windows box so the procedure is the same as with standard Unity. Check the properties of AvSkinny.tsp in the \Windows\System32\ folder path.
If you don't care about official support and it's only temporary then I'd say check to ensure that TSP is fairly recent and, if needed, upgrade to the latest release available for install on CUC 1.2(1). Run a number and tests and make sure 1) things function as expected and 2) you don't get a load of TSP errors in the system/application logs.
Cisco notes that product support is based primarily on testing and since Unity Connection 1.2(1) is outdated and CUCM 8.5(1) is brand new, it's not likely that this combination will be tested anytime soon ... but the TSP compatibility between 8.0 and 8.5 is likely to be similar if not the same.

currently no, you need a NOKIA E series with the ICC client then your phone will look like an 7970 to the UCM and irks great over WLAN and also over VPN
There are rumours about CUMA for windows mobile but that sitll wont give you a WLAN phone it just signals over 3G and calls using PSTN anyway.
I think we are all waiting on the day when CUMC becomes a WLAN phone as well

Displaytag: paging WITH external sort

I'm doing a paging with external sort on my list as described in http://displaytag.sourceforge.net/11/tut_externalSortAndPage.html
I'm getting the correct results with my paging, but when i click the sort headers, it always shows the FIRST page sorted. When I mouseover the sort header on any page, it shows the encoded page number to be 0, even if i'm on other pages. I have specified the total list size using the size property on the table tag, how do I tell displaytag which page it's currently displayed so that the sort header sorts the correct page?
This is my table tag:

To get the number of the current page, you can do this:
request.getParameter(new ParamEncoder(tableId).encodeParameterName(TableTagParameters.PARAMETER_PAGE))
tableId is the value of id attribute of display:tag at your jsp.
But we still have a problem, because if you try to do:
request.setAttribute(new ParamEncoder(tableId).encodeParameterName(TableTagParameters.PARAMETER_PAGE), pageToGo)
The displaytag don't care about attributes and render the 1st page.
