Situation :
My Apple adapter is getting overheated while charging i don't know how much temperature it reaches to, but i can say that, it feels like burning hot, touchable though. My laptop's battery used to last 10 hours in the beginning, but nowadays it hardly lasts 3 hours i guess. I don't know what to do ?
It shows 28% remaining in my battery and which shows will last only for 01:09 hours.
Will you please suggest me about what should i do ?
I bought the laptop just 3 months back and have 1 year warranty.
Should i take my laptop and adapter to nearby service centre ?
Or is there anything i can do by myself ?
I am from INDIA, is that something to do with the input/output voltage environment ?
or maybe i should use some amplifier kind of thing to prevent my laptop from heating ?
Well, am totally a beginner with an Apple product and want help to solve my situation.
Expecting for a quick reply.

Yes.  The charger and battery should be inspected and replaced if necessary under the warranty provisions.

  • Overheating iPad 3 while charged?

Hi guys, I've purchased my 3rd generation iPad 16 gig WiFi last early September and have noticed its fast deterioration of battery life. Today, I left it charging only to find it extremely hot after 5 hours of being plugged in. Before I slept it was down to 27 % and when I woke up it was at 30 and it was extremely hot so I had to unplug it and let it cool down.
Is anybody experiencing the same issue with their devices? I'd like to get some suggestions to anybody who was able to rectify this issue.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Heat shorten life of battery; remove sleeve when charging.

While charging my IPHONE 4S with the USB adapter supplied along with iphone the power line gets blown up every time  and I am left only with the option to recharge through the USB port of my laptom.Any remedy?

Have you tried other outlets? That may be an electrical problem in your house, worse case scenario. Try other USB wall adapters.

Both the system and the charger are still under warranty. If you feel you have a defective part you should take both into apple to be checked out and replaced if found defective.
I also sugest you buy the applecare extended warranty before your standard one year warranty expires, you can only buy it during the original one year warranty. Once that has expired you can no longer buy it.
To fix any mac computer once out of warranty is expensive and even more so for the retina models.

  • Overheating while charging

Okay folks... I have seen in some other posts that there are other people having some overheating issues and I have taken the advice of the posts yet my problem still persists.
1 - When charging, the back gets extremely hot, so much so that when I unplug the unit, the fan remains on so long that it drains the battery.
2 - Several times in the last week, while charging and in sleep mode, the unit will not not come out of sleep mode and I have to force a shut down and restart.
Any thoughts on this? Do I take it into the Store? I am always afraid that they are going to treat me like I should be on the short bus.

thanks Phy.I downgrade to android 5.0.2 but I have a new problem.I use magnetic charging cable but recently it charges my phone slowly.exmaple when on the phone says 3 hours to full,I stop it and use usb cable.after 10 minutes it says exmaple 2 hours. It show it charge my phone slowly. Now what should I do??What sould I check?Do you think the cable has problem or magnetic port on the phone??

  • While charging my ipad when i plugged in the adapter, the adapter and the usb port gets very very hot... Is this normal? I replaced my ipad and adapter but the problem still exist.

While i charge my ipad with adapter the adapter more specifically the internal round cell of adapter and the usb port becomes very very hot... And ultimately my ipad back starts heating a bit. Is that normal?

Take your charger, cable & iPad to an Apple Store for evaluation.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Is it normal for my charger adapter to get hot while charging.

IIs it normal for my charger to get hot while charging.  Very hot

Hot/ Very Hot are very relative.
Its normal for it to get hot while charging, but if its really unconfortably hot to touch even briefly then there might be an issue.

  • IGo universal adapter not charging the battery?

Since yesterday I have realized that my apple adapter for the PowerBook G3 PDQ (aka wallstreet) has died. I plugged in the adapter and the battery icon just stays the way it is. So I plugged in the iGo Juice 70 and yeah the laptop shows the thunderbolt on the battery. Since I know when you use the laptop while charging, it is suppose to charge slowly. In two hours it said the battery is full. I thought the adapter charged it faster. Today I used it in battery mode and it show a full battery. When it was at 92% the laptop fell asleep. I checked the battery tester and it shows that the battery is empty. So I plugged in the same adapter, woke up the laptop, and it showed it was charging from 0% and in one minute it went up to 100%. I also have realized that the battery tester doesn't light up when it is charging. I tried this in OSX 10.2.8 and OS 9.2.2. Is it the adapter, laptop, battery??? Something else???

    Vstream,
It does not sound like a power adapter issue. Since the adapter will power/run the powerbook, it has sufficient voltage to also charge the battery. Be sure to check if the battery charges in sleep or when turned off. You mentioned that the battery showed 100% charged; you then disconnected the power adapter and let the 'book run on battery; at 94% the 'book shut down. This has nothing to do with the power adapter; you either have a failing battery or a hardware problem in the 'book. Your problems are almost certainly a bad battery with classic symptoms...test LEDs refusing to light and random shutdowns when running on battery.
A definitive test is swapping batteries with a known-good Wallstreet, but this is usually not an available option.

  • Is it possible to play the iPod while charging it?

Is it possible? I am a dj and I use my iPod as a music source, but I need it to play for at least 4 hours.
Is it possible to use a power adapter to charge, and still be able to play music while charging?
If so, which accessories would be needed?
    Thanks!

Yes, I do this all the time.
You need a USB power adapter that connects an AC outlet to your USB cable and then to your iPod.
You can get one from Apple here:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB352LL/B?fnode=MTY1NDA4NA&mco=MTY1OTg1Nw
Or get one from other manufacturers (I have one from Griffin, my wife has one from DLO). Check the prices.

  • Feeling electric shock while charging Mac book Pro

    Hai everyone!
i just bought a Mac bookPro 15 inch 2.53 Ghz.
i am feeling a mild tingling/ vibrating shock while charging my mac book pro. i can feel the sensation all over the aluminium unibody part- especially while using the Mac book as well as charging it at the same time. is it Earthing/ grounding problem? or is it any voltage problem? or is it any problem with my Mac Book Pro?
    Thanks and Regards
    Chaitanya.A

"I bought my laptop from the US, but i am using it in Spain , with the aid of a plug converter (3 pong to 2 European one)...
"1) is this problem i am experiencing due to the plug converter?"
Yes and no. Outside of the US, the AC line voltage is twice as high, and that's why people outside of the US generally experience the "shock". If you use a 3-prong plug adapter inserted in a properly-grounded AC outlet, the problem will be resolved.
"2) I am staying in student resident, and so i doubt that the MBP is not properly grounded.. That would be dangerous, no??"
If you are using a 2-prong prong adapter, your unit is not properly grounded. Using an improperly grounded computer is not dangerous.
"3) Aside from being extremely annoying sensation, is it bad for the laptop??"
    No.
"Because if not, i can always use another keyboard.."
You mean, "if it IS" a problem , you can use another keyboard. Using another keyboard is does not change the grouping scheme of the computer.
"I am not saying whose fault this is, but i only felt this shock with the mac book pro (15 inch).. i owned a power book and a 13 in mac book, and never felt a shock like this before... Could it be because of the placement of the battery on the laptop?"
No, it's because you're using a metal-cased computer, at a high AC input voltage.

  • Sync with iCloud while charging crashes WiFi

When i try to sync to iCloud while charging my iPhone 5 my WiFi goes down, not the phone but the router. After restarting the router it works again. Syncing manually while running phone on battery and wifi everyting works fine. Anyone else got this problem? Discoverd this because phone hadn't made any nightly backups for two weeks. Thats when i installed iOS 8.

Gee, why didn't I think of that?  For those that may be keeping track this is a dlink Dir-655 (ON LATEST FIRMWARE).
I had no problems with my iPhone 5.  I have no problems with my iPhone 6 EXCEPT when I let the phone attempt a full iCloud backup.  I don't know what encryption or protocol this fires up but whatever it is it crashes the router.  I am hoping others with router crashing can benefit. The seemingly random crashing some have may be when the phone attempts a backup.
Because i use I jumped phones and iOS versions at the same time I don't know for sure which is to blame but I suspect it is the iOS creating malformed packets. My router wont packet capture and I don't have $2000 for a wifi N capture adapter. So there is not much more troubleshooting I can do.
MY Apple fanboy co-workers have airports and don't have iphone connectivity issues. so maybe routers do need to catch up with some wonky thing Apple is doing. I am not against buying a new router if I knew it would fix the issue but I don't have spare cash to spend right now just to make the attempt. If a new router doesn't help I will have spent money for nothing on a non-returnable item.

  • Does it harm the battery if we use the laptop while charging?

If we use while charging, is the power required directly taken from the external supply or from the battery itself. Which is the safest way to use the laptop without drawing power from the battery?

No harm is done. There is enough power from the adapter to run the laptop and charge the battery. There is hardware and software in place which prevents any problems. The laptop will not take power from the battery while the AC adapter is plugged in.

  • Still Having Problem with Battery Overheating with Car Dock/Charger when using Maps/Navigation

I'm having a problem with the battery overheating when using Google Navigation in the OEM Samsung car dock and car charger.  On a trip last weekend, I started off with a fully charged battery (because posts on other sites have complained that the Charge cannot keep up with the power draw of the Google nav app while using the car charger).  About an hour into my trip, I got a message that the battery was overheating and to unplug the charger which I did.  I then had to contend with the screen going out because it was running on the battery.  I let the phone discharge to about 70% then tried the car charger again.  Within a few minutes, I got the same overheating message.  It was not an overly hot day and the car A/C was set at 68 degrees.
This morning (with the battery at about 85%) I tried to use the Navigation without the car dock while charging and got the same results...the phone battery overheated and I had to unplug the charger. The battery temperature reached 116 degrees. (also, the battery level was also dropping while using the Maps or Nav application even though it was hooked up to the car charger).
I'm very disappointed with this situation since I was hoping I could replace my old Garmin GPS with the Charge.  But between the phone dimming the screen while running on battery, and having a depleted battery in the phone at the end of the trip, its just not a viable option.  I really like this phone, but I'm running against the "return" clock.
    Any ideas?
Could this be a software problem that will be corrected by an update in the future?
fyi:  other Charge problems in the last 5 days:
    - dropping audio on calls to other Verizon phones.
    - use of camera flash causing the phone to reboot.
(I do have the 'class 4' 32gb card in my Charge)
    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

    Jerry:
Yes, the phone is charging while in the car dock.  I confirmed it both under the "about phone-status-battery status" menu and by my battery widget.  By watching the battery widget, I also noticed that the voltage steadily increased over the ride home.  It started at about 3.90 volts and ended at 4.02 volts.  I don't know if that is significant.  This time the battery did not overheat.  The Max temp was 110 degrees, but no notice to disconnect came up.  This might be because the sun was behind me on the drive home rather than beating down on the dash like it was this weeked.
I've ordered a cheap universal dock from Amazon for about $15.00 which clips onto the a/c vent.  I want to see if this keeps the temperature down.  If this works, I can still return the fancy-schmantzy Samsung OEM car dock. (The car-dock interface wasn't that impressive anyway).
Please let me know if the volt change means anything.
And thanks again for your help!
    Rich

  • Help. Screen won't work while charging directly through a wall socket

I need help. 3 months ago I bought an iPod Touch 5th Generation and was surprised it didn't have an adapter with it. So I've been charging through my pc since. Yesterday I bought a 10W USB Adapter and tried it out. It was charging but the thing is, when I started using the iPod while it was charging, the screen isn't that sensitive anymore. It would click on itself, sometimes it won't even work. I don't know what I should do. I spent a lot on this adapter I don't want it to be a waste. And also, would it be okay if I keep using this adapter, even if it means I can't use my ipod while charging, would it have any effect on my ipod in the long run? thanks so much guys in advance for your replies. Much appreciated.
