Overheating problems with 865PE Neo2-S ( 6728 )

I have the same problem with my MB. When the CPU is idle it's temperature is 42 degrees C, but when it get's stressed up it growes up to 62 degrees C. THe heatsink is well in place, and has good contact with the CPU as well as the fan which is working correctly. Once the temp grew up to even 72 degrees but when I touched the heatsink it wasn't hot as I suspected. Also quite often a situation happens when the graphics in a game are starting to get " jumpy " which is followed by sound slowing and eventually the computer stalls, so I think that the overheating is real. I would really use some assistance.

I dont think there is anything wrong with the CPU, CPU cooler or not even the casing fans.
My system config is
Pentium 4 2.8GHz C Processor
MSI NEO2 865PE Mobo 512MB DDR333 Kingston (BIOS 1.1)
450W PSU w/4 Fans cooler system
ATI Hercules Radeon 9500 Pro
Iomega 48-24-48x CDRW
WD SATA 36GB HDD
WinXP Home SP1
SB Live
Creative 4400 Inspire 4.1 Speaker
When I boot up my PC, without running any application it is already 52 degree celsius.  After running General 5 it goes to 60+ ,  Dark Age of Camelot (Graphics intensive) it goes to 70 degree (Sometimes it just reboot while i am playing this game).  What is this?  My casing has 4 fans and my system temp is only 37 degree celsius.  How can my CPU temperature be so high when I didnt even overclock.  So what could be the cause of the problem.  Problematic Corecentre or MSI 865 PE NEO2 bug or whatever.  I really regret choosing this Mobo over Gigabyte PE1000.  FYI, my friend who fix the same system has the same problem as me.  So it is impossible that all of us didnt fixed our CPU cooler properly.

You should be fine running stock cooling (if you dont overclock) ...your problem is more likely to be airflow in and out of the case -to prove this try running with the side pannel/Casing off
If that works then you need to provide more airflow to the case not change your cpu cooler ...a bigger/more efficient CPU cooler will just increase you case temp unless you provide more airflow to the case

  • Weird start up problem with K8N Neo2

    Hello all,
I'm hoping SOMEONE can help me with a very annoying and very perplexing problem with my Neo2. I've read quite a few posts and can't seem to find anything similar to my problem.
Ever since the first time I booted my setup I've gotten this problem where when I power up my PC all the fans start up and the HD starts to spin up as well, but then it makes this click, spins down, then spins back up, clicks, spins down... and well, you get the picture.  It keeps doing this until I power off the PC.
The first time this happened I thought the HD had died, especially since I heard a lot of people where having sudden deaths of their Deskstars. So I hooked up another HD I had lying around, but, same problem. So at least I knew the HD was not the problem, and here I was starting to think about how an excellent excuse this was to get a new WD Raptor, LOL!
After fiddling around with the connectors, the cables, the CPU and the memory, I made this last ditch effort to clear the CMOS. Well, low and behold, the damn thing booted up fine. I thought, oh well, sometimes the most obvious solutions are the ones that you never think about. So I install everything and turn it off. Next morning I wake up, turn on the PC, and the hard drive spins up, clicks, spins down, spins back up, clicks and I start to cry.
Well, for the past few days, whenever I want to use my PC I have to clear the CMOS to get it to boot. Stangely enough it works just fine if I don't power it down and after some grueling Doom 3 sessions.
Im thinking it might be a bad CMOS battery, but then it would still boot and it would just loose the settings, right? Or maybe I have a bad CMOS? Or is the board just plain defective?
I'll appreciate any help and insight you guys can give.

    Sounds like you are shorted out on a standoff or something. You may want to pull the motherboard and start fresh. Here is some good reading material at this point;

  • Questions on DOT with 865PE Neo2

I did the "Load High Performance Defaults" for the first time.
Just wondering if everyone experiences the same results??
I have read many thread here on problems, but want to post some
positive results and in the same breath have some questions.
I have burnt in the system and done some SiSoftware Sandra benchmarking
with good results. Also used Performance Test 4.0 software that gave a
PassMark of 344.5 and MegaFlops of 1243.3   This is running in the "Load Bios Defaults". So no DOT!!
When I set the High Performance Defaults, I have to go back into Integrated Periphials/ On chip IDE config to set the ATA config again for my hard drive that is connected to channel one of the S-ATA.  Everyone, the Quick User Guide is just that, a guide.  Would someone kindly explain the settings??   1st, Does it make a difference with the S-ATA only or S-ATA and P-ATA in the ATA configuration??
2nd question. Why is the S-ATA Keep Enabled and Combined Mode Operation a light blue/green color where the others are white??  I think I understand the difference in S-ATA and P-ATA. that is Serial- ATA and Parallel ATA.  I am using the Maxtor Serial- ATA drive connected to channel one and I have a MSI cd writer connected to the secondary parellel conntroller.  Future connection with a MSI DVD writer on the primary ATA controller.
So far I have not experienced any crash in the High Performance Defaults mode and ran the SiSoftware Sandra last night for about 1 hour.
In fact I just ran and compared the Performance Test 4.0 software again and compared with a test ran without the DOT.  Guess what??  The DOT is noticeable lower results this morning... Why is that??  I thought the DOT and Hperthreading would increase performance??  PassMark is now 303.2 and MegaFlops is 227.2
I have noticed that the SiSoftware Sandra performance tips say the "mainboard temperature is too high" that is at 39 degress C.  Processor is at 45C  and case temp at 35C.. This sounds ok to me!!  Any comments?

    USR 56K MODEM

For SATA Only, SATA & PATA, PATA Only Qn, the answer is, there are differences in all these mode. 1st, if you switch to SATA only and PATA Keep Enabled to "NO", then you can only run SATA drives and no PATA drives. If you've switch to PATA and SATA, this will enabled you to run both types of drives in your system, but if you've encountered problems, then you may have to switched to SATA only and set PATA Keep Enabled to Yes. Hence for PATA Only, will means that this will enabled your system to support only PATA drives.
As for the coloring of the modes, I think that they are being purposely color coded for the ease of the user on the different options available.
D.O.T is supposed for you to adjust settings in a ranking order starting from Private status to General. Each has a certain increment percentage of the FSB starting from 3% to 10% Max. In your case, I don't think that you're o/cing through D.O.T yet, but having to run at high performance stablely is a good start.
HT- HyperThreading. This technology will virtually splits your current processor to run in Dual mode. As I've mentioned "Virtually", so it will only split your processor calculation and arthematics of your CPU into 2 so that each can process data transfer etc on its own and in turns giving more advantage to application and server like processing and not really in terms of gaming or other applications.
    Hope all this helps.
    All the Best... :D!!!

  • Having Problems With The Neo2 ? Read This!!!!

    Hi,
i just bought a neo2 motherboard, with a p4 2,6 HT and 512 mb Kingston hyper ram ( 2 peaces of 256, else it won't use the dual bandwith :D)
In the beginning everything seemed fine, until i got some sudden reboots and other vague stuff. I read it could be the SB audigy messing things up. I removed the card and windows Xp pro runs fine now. no more sudden reboots or explorer not resonding crashes.
But, i still had problems with games crashing. I got reboots. After i set the "automatic reboot after crash" to false, i got blue screens or lock-ups in my games.
I wondered what it could be. Then i started to put my videocard ( a radeon 9700 pro 128 mb) in agp 4x mode instead of agp 8x! Now my games run without crashes, but benchmarks are not that high. 4780 marks with 3dmark 2003.
I think i will send msi and Ati a mail concerning this problem. I don't know if it is PSU related. Maybe the videocard demands a little more power in agp 8x mode.
    Well, having probs with you're NEO2 ??
remove the sb Audigy and turn the agp back to 4 using smartgart ( it's located in you're display settings screen ).
First i tought it was a PSU related problem, because i swapped my 350 Watt enermax with a Q-tec 400 watt psu. The 400 watt PSU died while i was gaming. Maybe the enermax is the better PSU :D So, it could still be a PSU related problem. Maybe the agp 8x settings demands a lot more from you're psu. Anyway, i'll receive a 550 watt Antec PSU soon, so i can check this out....
Btw. I cant run the motherboard in anything better than "slow" mode. In all other modes Xp won't boot. I haven't tryed it since the AGP is at 4X, but i don't think it will matter.
    Regards,
Welcome to the real world NEO :D

    Ok.....
i raised the memory voltage setting in the bios from 2.65 to 2.8 and the agp voltage from 1.5 to 1.7
Everything seems fine, but games crash back to the desktop now without an error message or the either lockup.
Whatever i do, i can't make the mobo crash in anything but games!
Btw. the following message caught my attention, when i ran f1 2002 with directx 8.1. Since i have directx 9, i haven't seen it anymore. Maybe because the ati-drivers are made for directx 9....

  • [865PE/G Neo2 Series] DDR Memory with 865PE Neo2-PFS Platinum

SYSTEM SPEC: 400w PSU, Pentium 4 3.2ghz 800mhz FSB (HT), Matrox Parhelia 128 8x AGP card, MSI Neo2 PFS Platinum motherboard.
Hi there. Im looking for some serious help with my computer. I have a MSI 865PE Neo2-PFS Platinum mobo and have been using 512mb DDR RAM with it- the ram is PC2700 (333mhz), non-ECC, ubuffered, non-parity, 184 pin. Now, I have just purchased a new DIMM. This one is
    1gb PC3200 (400mhz), non-ECC, Unbuffered, non-parity, HIGH DENSITY- DUAL IN LINE, 128 x 64, 184 pin
It doesnt work and my system refuses to boot up. I checked out the specs of the 865PE Neo2-PFS Platinum, and it says in the table that you can only use 400mhz DDR RAM with an 800mhz FSB processor (which I have). It says it supports 400mhz RAM, "DUAL CHANNEL", non-ECC, unbuffered memory, but no mention of "HIGH DENSITY" or "DUAL IN LINE". Is there a difference between "DUAL CHANNEL" and "DUAL IN-LINE". Also, does anyone know what the difference is between 128 x 4 and 128 x 64, they are both 1gb? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!! I have seen some RAM from the same dealer which is not "HIGH DENSITY" and has the 128 x 4 configuration, and is still a 1gb module. Is that safe to buy? What RAM do I need (in detail) for my motherboard. Thanks!

Always useful with a complete systemspec.including PSU and biosversion, so please make one.
Can´t see anything wrong with the basic RAM specification - it also matches the MoBo basic specifications:
    - Supports four unbuffered DIMM of 2.5V DDR SDRAM.
    - Supports up to 4GB memory size without ECC.
    - Supports Dual channel DDR266/333/400/433/466/500/533 MHz and up.
Have you tried removing the old RAM and booting only with the new 1GB stick alone ?
Using mixed RAM, sometimes works in "Single mode" (see mobo manual), but is not recommended.
Running Dual-channel ( 2x512 or 1024x2 ) is preferable and gives best performance, but then you need two identical sticks.
You may also need to increase RAM voltage some in bios (example 2.7v) to achieve best stability.
If you have some RAM compability issues with 1GB sticks - 2x512 RAM stick would be safer and give better performance, unless your aiming for more then 2GB in total.
    You can also read about the RAM testreport here;
    http://www.msi.com.tw/html/products/mainboard/testreport_pdf/6728v2.0/memory.pdf
About "Dual In line Memory Module" - I think it´s the long version for older DIMM description.
Just like "Double Data Rate" is the long version for DDR RAM.
DDR means Double Data Rate RAM (in opposition to the SDRAM or Single Data Rate). DDR RAM bends the transfer rate for clock cycle. It can go quicker because it executes 2 instructions for cycle of clock of the RAM instead of an only instruction like it is the case of the SDR.

  • Problem with K8N Neo2

    Hello,
I am having problems with my new MB.  I have a K8N Neo2 Platinum ms-7025 and when I go into BIOS it will lock up when I enter the HT Frequency area.  I have Crucial Ballistix Memory and am trying to get more than 200fsb.
I have built several other systems and haven't had problems with overclocking before.
I am using a SATA in SATA 1, with an ATI Radeon 9500, 1 gig of Crucial Ballistix memory, an Antec slk 3700bke with 350 watt P/S.

    Thanks,
Between this and moving my SATA to 3 I was able to get the system to 233fsb and it posts at 260 fsb.
It locks up during Memtest86 at 260.  I'm not sure if it's PowerSupply or Heat, so next on my list of things to do is a new 500+ watt PS and replacing the AMD heatsink.

  • Overheating problem with PowerBook G4 17"

    Hi,
I've recently noticed my PowerBook getting really hot. Is this likely to be a problem with the fan and if so how would I be able to find out?
    Thanks

You need to read the actual temps to tell if there is a problem. "Rather hot" can mean different things to different people. As you have Tiger, get a free Dashboard widget here:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/status/istatpro.html
iStat Pro provides a lot of info about your system. Download it and post the temps you see to get advice on whether your are too hot. Supposedly, processor temps can approach 212F/100C before the computer does a safety shutdown.
Can you hear the fans? The ones on my PB17 1G come on around 125-140F (60F).
    Other things to consider:
    1) Are you placing the Powerbook on a blanket of pillow? Not recommended--the aluminum case bottom is part of the heat dissipation system.
    2) There is a long, narrow hot air aexhaust vent under the hinge in the back. It must not be blocked
    3) Use your Activity Monitor (AM) utility to check for runaway background processes. To see them you will need to set AM's "Show" menu to "All processes." It defaults to show only user processes.
Be aware that Apple had trouble with Apple Hardware test for the PowerBook G4. Apparently versions shipped with some computers did not work and neither did later ones posted as disk images on the support site. My 1Ghz PB is so affected.

  • Motherboard/card reader/overheating problem with pavilion dv2000 series

I bought an HP dv2845se notebook in April of 2008.  Soon after purchasing I noticed that the laptop would get extremely hot, sometimes to the point that it would burn my legs if I kept it on my lap too long.  After doing some research, I noticed that on some HP laptops the nVidia GPU could be defective and that HP recalled many of its notebooks' batteries.  However, my computer was not included in the recall nor the class action lawsuit against nVidia.  Almost since purchasing this computer, I cannot watch videos or play graphic-intensive video games due to the computer getting so hot that the video/game would become unbearably choppy.  In August of 2009, 4 months after my warranty was up due to the fact that I was not included in any extended warranty offered by HP, my hard drive stopped working.  Luckily I had purchased a service plan through Best Buy and they informed me that my laptop had gotten so hot that it damaged the hard drive beyond repair.  They replaced it but I lost all of my music and important documents for school.  Angry, I tried contacting HP support regarding the overheating issue and multiple people told me that since my warranty was up I would have to pay if I wanted anything repaired or replaced.  Fast forward to a few days ago.  My card reader and firewire port only work every few times I turn on my computer.  They show up as three Base System Devices and an IEEE 1394 Controller when not working and trying to update drivers does not work.  I have tried everything, including taking out my battery and holding down the power button.  After hours of research I have discovered that my motherboard is probably failing because the card reader still lights up when a card is inserted.  Is anybody else having these problems?  Am I correct in my diagnosis?  I would like to bring my computer back to Best Buy before my service plan is up to see if they could replace my motherboard.

If you still have warranty from best buy go use it. Compaint about the card reader and IEEE port. Fixing that items would be a complete motherboard replacement. dv2700 series with Nvidia GPU has been known as a "warm" notebook. I purchase 3 years warranty but till now still working fine with normal usage, barely not playing any games in it.

  • IRQ problems with 865PE Neo2V and MSI NX6600-VTD256 VGA

    Hi All,
I thought I would try a posting here first for help before filling out the cumbersome service request form. I recently purchased the 865PE Neo2V motherboard with an intel 3.2Ghz processor, 1 Twinmos 1024MB DDr400 memory, 2 Maxtor Diamond 250GB S-ATA HDD's and the MSI NX6600 VTD 256  AGP VGA card. I am also running a Plextor 716a dvd burner and a Toshiba DVD Rom on the secondary IDE slot nothing on the primary for 2 S-ATA drives and 2 P-ATA for a total of 4.  I have always had a very good experience with MSI products in the past, easy to install and for the most part problem free. That is until now. I am having a rough time with the VGA card and IRQ conflicts. In the past with all my MSI motherboards I was able to choose ( Reserve IRQ for VGA) Not so with the 865PE NEO 2V.( Unless I am missing something and doing it wrong) To make a long story short the MSI NX 6600 (NVIDIA GeForce 6600) VGA card is sharing IRQ 16 with Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D2 and Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24DE. For the most part the system runs OK except every so often during startup the system loses the VGA Card and tries to reinstall the card and software. After reinstalling the software the first time it happened I subsequently tried choosing Cancel on the prompt to install and simply reboot the computer. To my surprise the system always seems to see the VGA card on the second boot! and works fine. I have been running the system for two days now with the USB disabled in the bios which gives the VGA card IRQ 16 by itself,  so far the system has seen the VGA card each and every startup without problems. Since the USB and AGP are fixed I am unable to move anything. Unfortunately I need the USB for my printer and scanner. I would also like to add that I have the latest BIOS upgrade for the Motherboard and the latest MSI Drivers for the VGA card.
Any suggestions on how to get the VGA card on its own IRQ?
    Thanks for any input

Edited to add that For an OS I have WinXP Pro service pack2

or rather, the poorly installed drivers.
    Frankenputer
I take umbrage with your statement. I installed the latest drivers from MSI correctly! I also chose not to install the very latest as they are a Beta version with the warning they may be unstable!  Perhaps I was under the misguided impression that I would be better off with the latest drivers offered by MSI for the particular VGA card I paid my good money for! ( this is the main reason I thought the problem was not driver related!) It is not my fault that MSI dropped the ball in its offerings to its valued customers!
Just because I was being polite to Hans who offered so much good advice and showed such a genuine concern for my troubles doesn't mean I had not read the advice from Nvidia on how to uninstall and reinstall "their" drivers! I will admit though that from my read on Nvidias suggestions they did not go as far as to recommend uninstalling the norton works completely, only disabling it!
On another note My computer seems to be starting so far without the problem!  On yet another note after installing Nvidias driver package Version: 91.31 You get a warning every time you start up that the SLI is disabled. (unless your sli equipped) I found a fix for it and have it stored on my web space if anyone wants it. It is a zip file and I guarantee that I've scanned it with Norton and it is virus free. After unzipping it and clicking on it it makes an entry into the system registry removing the warning.

The latest driver for the VGA can be found on www.nvidia.com. We (and
other VGA vendors) do not make our own drivers, nVidia (and ATI) make
the drivers. So at the website from nVidia the latest drivers can be
    found.

  • Dual DDR problem with K8N Neo2 Platinium.

    Hi all,
    I have a new K8N Neo2 Platinium since last week. My configuration is : AMD 64 Venice 3000+, 2 x 256 MB Kingston Value RAM (KVR400X64C25/256) 160GB Seagate SATA, MSI FX5700 VTD 256MB etc...
The problem is I cannot work them in dual DDR mode! But they works in single mode very good. I know that my RAM pairs are not in vendor list! But I love my RAMs..They are CL2.5 and I think they are valuable...
    So what can I do?

Deathstalker , lots of value kinston ram is qualified .
Just take a look at NF4 testreport:
    http://www.msi.com.tw/html/products/mainboard/testreport_pdf/7125/memory.pdf
And what you say about value ram vs non jedec spec OC ram is often quite the opposite as valueram follows the jedec spec
and is a more "hit" than miss with most motherboards contra what OC ram is .
Dxvideo , make sure you use memory slot 1+2 as said, also try booting to bios with one stick and save cas as 3.0
then install second module . Se if it helps with looser cas value .They also follow jedec SSTL 2.5v standard
but is verified by vendor -/+ 0.25v so you can also set voltage manually to 2.6v (or more) to help them out .
If it worked in dual chl on NF2 doesn't neccesary mean they will on A64 system as this memory controller is more picky than
the external memory controller on NF2 boards.

The problem is that I can´t enter bios on any of the machines, the second i try i get either "green green red green" or the video dies.
I tried changing something randomly when the screen went black, the computer rebooted after i struck F10 + enter, I guess that is the standard "exit & save" key so it seems that it´s working, just that I can´t see anything.
Also, the only thing that booted was an original WinXP disc, got halfway through the installation and then the video died. Seems to be quite random, sometimes it happens after a few seconds, sometimes after a couple minutes.
I already tried with a different graphic card, single stick of ram, no hdd or rw, usb or ps/2 keyboard etc, so I´m running out of ideas.
I flashed to 1.8 on one of the machines, no difference.

I would suggest trying another brand of Graphics card besides XFX.  Because PCI-E Gen 2 is suppose to be backwards compatible with Gen 1; so XFX telling you that they are not compatible is a bunch of bull.  I'm running a BFG 8800 GTS 512 (a gen 2 card) in my system (P35D3) which is 1.0a compliant and I'm not having any problems.  I think it is more XFX is having trouble getting some of their Gen 2 cards to work in a Gen 1 PCI-E slot.

Probably, but returning the cards takes atleast a week, and i have til next wednesday to fix this.
The computers are bought to a meeting place, sort of community center as gaming computers, thus they are bought through a municipality.
So the normal 30-day etc don´t apply here, we have to pay a fee for each unit returned.
That´s why it would be nice if I could flash and get six working cards
I found a modified bios, now I only have to find another computer with a mobo that accepts this card, flash one of them and cross my fingers hoping it will work.

    small update:
Nothing new yet, i´m still searching for a computer to flash the card in and finding one was harder than i thought.
XFX hasn´t provided any new information, although i´m not surprised by that since i read kerrys whole thread including the xfx support ticket.
    cheers, Jonas

  • BIOS problems with K8T Neo2

    K8T Neo2, AMD64 3400, 2x 512 3200 DDR (slots 1 & 3), PNY nVidia Quadro FX500, WD Caviar 60GB.
The system will not boot (cold or warm) without first clearing the BIOS via the JBAT. If I try to restart the system, the LED panel shows four red (processor error). If I clear the CMOS, it will post then say that there was an error in the BIOS. It will then ask if I want to enter the setup (F1) or load defaults and continue (F2). If I go into the setup, make any changes (even just the date and time) and restart the system, it won't post until I clear the CMOS again.
The owner is getting fed up and is threatening to go buy a Dell, so any help would be very much appreciated!!!

Not sure how good the beta version is, after flashing I am unable to get the system to post.
Have you tried bootblock-programming, as described somewhere on MSI website? FDD is needed for that.

Talked with MSI and they are sending me another board and instructed me to re-flash with the same file (3.34).  Apparently it resolves an issue with endusers using an AMD 64 3400+ chip
This is a CPU that is intended to be sold to OEMs like HP/Medion only. It runs only with 600MHz HTT. Maybe you should ask your dealer to replace that with a retail CPU, e.g. 3200+ with Winchester Core.

and more importantly (see my thread) will fix my problem of not being able to save CMOS settings.
That might be a problem related to the "wrong" CPU, IMHO.

*One other note, MSI said that I need to change the front side bus to 800 for these processors not 1000 as the default would have it.... If its not changed the system wont post.
Indeed - had you been able to enter BIOS setup previously? If yes, then try flashing BIOS 3.30 using the Boot Block method and set your HTT to 800. Maybe then you will be able to save your BIOS settings.

If you still want the file, I could send it to you, but use it at your own risk..just post your email.
I am still interested, just use the "PM"-or Mail-button on the left. Thanks in advance.

  • Problem with K8N neo2 plat. and ram

    Hello everyone
Recently I had 2*512mo of PC3200 ( double side ),  they hold all approximately 235mhz has 2.5/3/3/8 1T (tested separately)
But, when I puts them into dual they are stable under memtest always with 235 2.5/3/3/8 1T but are unstable under Windows,  under xp they are stable until 207mhz maximum whereas they hold much higher under memtest
If I want to be stable A 235mhz under Windows it is necessary that I put them in 2T but y' has an enormous loss of perf
I tested different bios (1.37mod, 1.4 official, 1.41mod, 1.5 official, 1.8r3mod, 1.9 official and 1.B4mod) and always the same problem I also tested on port 1 and 3 (near to the CPU) and 2 and 4 but there it is still worse

  • Overheating problem with Pavilion dv7-1464nr and some other problems

My laptop has always been very hot on bottom left upper side and blows hot air out the back, it has blistered my leg twice.  I even use a dual cooling fan pad. I have had the power supply replaced through warranty once and the second one has already burned up too. I purchased one at Wal-Mart that cost me over $100, was on vacation and I need laptop for Garmin GPS, I even purchased a 1000 watt converter hardwired to a diesel truck for better performance, power supply is still hot but working.  Laptop is now overheating to the point of shutting down and the fan has always run at highest speed which is very loud and annoying.  I only have 20 days left on warranty, suggestions.
I also have trouble with the top touch control bar on keyboard not working, sometimes it does sometimes not and the left key on mouse has never worked right, usually have to click it two or three time for it to work.  Also have one USB port that broke, when I unplugged a USB cord the part that it insert into came out with it in the cord.  I have had to tape my battery so it will stay in,  I think the Iocking switch has a broken piece, had it 3 months when this happened but decided to wait to see if anything else went wrong!!
Does HP have a replacement for lemon laptop???  Please help

OMG......this could have been my post right down to the burned body part (my belly). I also bought the cooling pad and  new power supply. My laptop also shuts down all the time. My solution to the left  click problem was to run every virus removal I could and that helped with the key problem.  If you hear of any solutions please let me know [Personal Information Removed]
