Overlapping PDFs

Hi.
I have a collection of documents and I need to print them with different Headers and Footers.
Headers and Footers are complex and don't overlap the document itselt.
I have PDF's for the documents and PDF's for the headers-footers.
Is there a way to merge them while printing?
Is there a way to overlap them before printing?
Of course I can print (in paper) the logos and I can reuse that paper for printing the documents but that will increase reproduction cost.
I have about 20 different documents and 4 sets of headers-footers (logos, etc). Documents and headers-footers are regularly updated. Editing inside PDF is problematic and time consuming.
Thanks
Martins

What is IAC? ... I never used Javascript. I downloaded Acrobat SDK but don't know what to do with it.
Thanks, anyway.

I'm not sure if you can do that with CreatePDF.  Try it; you got one free use when you sign up with Acrobat.com
If not, you will have to use Adobe Acrobat; there is a full-use 30 days trial.

  • Email text overlapping pdf image

Our company sends out order confirmations which are getting scrambled when viewed on an iPad. The text of the email and the one page pdf attachment overlap in the viewing screen. Everything looks fine on a computer or the phone, it's just the pdf preview build in to the mail app that is making things weird. This does not happen with all pdf emails I get, just the one we are creating. is there an html tag or something to prevent this from happening?
    thanks!

  • Pdf's created in Indesign having problem in "Black" color when it overlap with other color.

    Hi all,I
Please respond to this as soon as possible since this is now in printing stage we need to send it immediately.
Adobe disabled attachment, I just made a screenshot and sending you the image as attachment for your reference.
The design has "Black" overlapping on "Blue" giving transparent on Blue color, see the pdf for reference.
Please not that there is no transparency in "Black" or any other color used in that page.
This is related to "preserve overprint" problem, when I switch off the preserve overprint in "distiller" setting I am getting the correct result but "Black" become "Knockout" instead of "overprint".
Is there is any way to solve this problem.
    Please advice.
    Kaviya

When you Knockout the colour it should cut a hole in the shapes below it -
Start by creating a New Black Swatch
Then Apply that swatch to your black frame
Below I have turned off the Black Separation, and you can see that it has knocked a hole right through the items below - I've also shown you the Attributes Panel - you can see in the Spearations panel to that the black is still 100%
Below is what happens when you have Black set to Overprint
YOu can clearly see that the values are added up - You now have a 284% ink coverage here - so anywhere the black goes over the green here the values are added together and that gives you a different shade of black, because the Black is PRINTING OVER the other colours and adding, as ink is transparent, not opaque.
If the black frame goes off into the white it will be 100% for whatever is touching the white, and then 284% when hitting the green here, so you get two distinct shades of black.

  • Header in pdf overlaping body of pdf doc:using fop

I'm generating PDF file with FOP, but my header contents are not fixed, they keep on changing with each report and with each locale of browser.
Because of this my static width / height setting like
    margin-top="0.25in"or
margin-top="0.95in"is failing for some reports, i.e my header is overlapping with body contents.
Is there a generic solution which can fix this?
    More details:
Header of pdf is overlapping on the contents of body of pdf, because of which I am not able to see my top contents in my body of pdf document.
I want to way by which ,if header contents are increased then body should start after the layout of header.
But in pdf api it is required to set:
    <fo:region-body margin-top="1.25in" margin-bottom="0.50in" />
    <fo:region-before extent="1.25in"/>
<fo:region-after extent="0.50in"/>which is causing problem bec. when my text in header increases beyond 1.25in which is specified in
<fo:region-body margin-top="1.25in"then in that case header text overlapps body text.

When you distribute a form using the distribute process, Acrobat replaces whatever code you placed in the button with its own. You do not need to use the distribution process to set this up. Instead, Reader-enable the form and your button should work like you want.

  • CS5 PDF export (high res) is causing lines and color shifts where transparent images overlap

Has anyone else had this issue? I've attached two samples of what is happening. Basically, I have a headline with an image that overlaps it a bit. The frame cuts through the headline (you can see it in the sample) and causes the type to break. I've also had it shift my color significantly so that the green that is under the frame is much darker than the green outside the frame. Everything is in the same color space using the same profiles.
Originally, I thought it was a PDF anomolly, but it prints just as you see it. Can someone please explain what is happening here?
Thanks in advance for any input.

That makes sense. I had a colorist that works with one of our vendor pre
-press houses set us up. We calibrated to our vendors machines so that we could share files when necessary. Their recommendation was the distiller workflow. Even setting the profile in the export to pdf option in ID caused it to be a bit different than doing it the long way. That may have changed since this was a couple of years ago, but I've just continued to do it that way.

  • Images overlap with text when after creating pdf: InDesign CS

    Good morning,
I am using bot InDesign CS and CS2, and I am having a problem as the following:
After creating the pdf, images overlap with one another, or the text overlap behind the images so on.
First, I would like to mention the overlapped images had no problem at the previous version of the pdf. If I make a change on the page "06" for example and then recreate the pdf, a couple of images in the other pages move to the different place through the document.
So I tend to "replace" the changed pages into the previous version of the pdf instead of recreating the pdf for all pages.
Is this kind of bug or features of InDesign?
It would be very much appreciated if anyone answer me.
    Warm regard, Andrew.

The PDF that was placed into ID loses all interactivity and form fields. There is no way to do what you want.

  • Interactive Links in exported PDF are too big (links overlap in TOC)

When we export our InDesign document to PDF, hyperlinks are automatically generated for each item in the Table of Contents (TOC). This is great, but the problem is the hyperlink area of each line overlaps with the hyperlink area of the next line. This can create confusion in Adobe Reader and Apple Preview when a user clicks near the top or bottom of a TOC heading on a line, thinking it will take them to that heading in the document but instead they are taken to the preceeding or following heading in the document.
We currently have to open the PDF up in Adobe Acrobat and manually go through and reduce the height of every hyperlink in our document, particularly in the TOC (using the Link Tool). Is there anyway in InDesign to change the height of hyperlinks that are exported? If not, is there a way to bulk update the height of all the hyperlinks using Acrobat rather than doing each one individually/manually (maybe some sort of script)?
    Many thanks : ) Lee

Uncheck the reflow option and apply the updates to Acrobat Pro 9.0. Windows 7 was released after Acrobat 9 and the only way to make sure you have a program that will work properly with Windows 7 is to apply the updates. There have also been some significant security patches included with the updates.

  • Chinese character overlap in PDF file

    Hi guyz,
I am working on the issue on Chinese character overlap in PDF file.
There is smartform which is being used to generate ePaySlip(Comes in email) in PDF file format which contains Chinese and English both characters.
Now the issue is that at the bottom of the ePaySlip there is a Remark section which is maintained in Chinese and English both. However, the English sentences are proper withour any problem whereas the same thing in Chinese is showing as distorted/overlapped in few words.
Can anyone suggest what could be the cause and suggest some solution.
As when I checked in smartform those characters are hard coded and Chinese characters are shown as ###.
Please response, I would be really grateful.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mini

    Hi,
there a different things to know.
I produce sapscript forms with cinese and english characters for frontend / backend and archiv printing.
    Please check:
Editor displays ###: You have to install the chinese language in your e.g. windows-system to display them.
Script: You have to chose the the font family "CNSONG" (customized for chinese simplified and LATIN).
Transaction I18N: May you have to set correct subfonts for the unicode areas (Cascading fonts, Standard is Courier).
You can print in different ways:
For archiv/PDF: Install the unicode truetype font with chinese characters for the pdf-converter.
For Frontend: Use the Frontendprinter SAPWIN or SAPWIN*CF (Cascading Font) to send it to the gui (note: SAPLPD does not support it, use the newer technology.....)
Backend printing: POSTSCRIPT is not yet implemented :-((
PLease note: What you see in spool / print preview is a simulation of the possible print, but backend print is not frontend preview!!!!

  • Fonts are overlapping in converted PDF using *.DWG through autovue 20.2.3

We were seeing this issue in 20.0.0, 20.2.2. But after installing the 20.2.3. we did not see this issue, but after few days again this issue started reproducing. Please let us know if any session, cache or any such aspects causing the issue. However we have cleared the Jetty cache, Java cache and rebooted the physical server but still issue persists.
Please find attached file, in this PDF "Notes" sections related content is overlapping.
Hope this would help you for your further investigation.

If this is tied to During creating Annotation dimensions getting Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NullP
then what you have is actually the expected result, since you are turning on all the layers, visible or not
It is not an AutoVue issue.

  • PDF output: characters overlap

    Friends,
I have an issue where, my document output is configured for sending email as PDF attachment. The issue is the PDF generated have some characters overlapping.
When printed directly from the document, the output is as expected. The spool created in SP01 also looks perfect.
But if I convert this spool into PDF using RSTXPDFT4, the PDF generated will have the same issue; 'characters are overlapped'.
Can anyone please guide me to find the cause of the issue? Any kind of help will be appreciated.
    Thanking you in anticipation.

We are getting right hand side characters truncated for PDF output when Conc Prog is run through EBS.This is the problem. Is it a seeded or custom concurrent program? Does this happen to all requests or specific ones only?
But while saving the file on dektop and printing both left and right hand side characters gets printed well within the margin area. What if you print the same file from the server using the lp command?
What could be the problem here please?Could anyone please share the resolution.
    Page size used is: 81/2 x 11 - Letter.What is the printer type/style?
    Have you tried different printer?
Also, have you tried to adjust the number of Rows/Columns of this concurrent program?
Please see if (Custom Landscape Reports In PDF Format Print In Portrait Orientation [ID 421358.1]) helps.

  • Fonts are overlapping in PDF through Autovue

    Hi,
I am generating PDF using *.dwg file through autovue 20.2.2 version. I am adding markups through program or webUI after that I am generating PDF using autovue API. After generating PDF fonts are overlapping in PDF.
Could you please let me know anybody know how to solve fonts overlapping issue.
    Thanks,
    Siva

    Hi Ricardo,
       Thanks for your response.
This is problem with mark up fonts. During converting dwg file to PDF file, mark up fonts are overlapping. With out adding markups dwg file fonts showing properly.
Please find below image file we added markup as "AutoVue solutions deliver document..." in dwg file. After converting dwg file to pdf file markup characters are overlapping.
    Thanks,

  • Why does Firefox 37.0.1 show multiple overlapped tab icons + same some pdf graphics? (36.0.4 is OK)

When running on SONY VAIO i7 WIN 7 64bit SP1 with NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M, the icons in the tabs at top of Firefox page replicate, overlapped, horizontally, offset by a few pixels in 37.0.1. Similarly, when displaying web based pdf files through Firefox 37.0.1, some graphics replicate, overlapping, vertically. There are no such problems in 36.0.4 or previous. My drivers for GeForce GT 520M are up to date, so not a driver issue. I have uninstalled 37.0.1 and reinstalled 36.0.4 until this can be fixed.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • Text overlapping when printing to PDF

I having an issue where upon printing to PDF from Adobe X Pro I am having some of my documents that were originally in landscape mode and are now rotated to a portrait style the text is overlapping on some pages causing it to be unreadable.  This is with the shrink oversized pages checked in printing options, and if you choose the fit option you will get the same result.  I have tried the actual size option under printing options and with this it is cutting the edge of the document off.  We have Nuance PDF coverter on a different system and it can do this without causing this issue so I know it can be done.  I have looked at the advanced settings and the options under properties when you go to print and I cannot find anything that will make this work.

    Hi,
I tried to reproduce the issue on my end by creating some files. But i am unable to reproduce it.It will be helpful if you can send me some files which have problems in printing.
          Thanks in advance.

  • Text overlapping when viewing pdf in Safari

When opening certain types of pdfs from a link from a private site for work, some of the text is overlapping in the document. Particularly when there are bullets and tables. These are instructional documents that were originally created in InDesign with lots of steps, tables, bullets, etc. I opened several other pdfs from various other sites, all of the pdf's seemed to work seamlessly. What could cause these types of pdfs to malfunction on the iPad and how do I fix it?

If people can open the pdf directly from a link, then it is intuitive and does not have to be explained. If it has to be copy/pasted, I don't mind doing this personally (it is an extra, unecessary step besides the conventional "click on a link" method, hence the slightly annoying part), and while it is not hard, it would have to be something that is taught and communicated to other users - thousands of other users who due to the law of large numbers, many would forget or have issues, which results in support calls. The pdfs also frequently change, which rules out preloading anything.
It doesn't seem like too much to ask to have a decent pdf reader built in without depending on an app or adding a separate step.
