  • Overlapping text in Crystal Report

I am working with Crystal Report 2012. I am suppose to create a Crystal Report which may be exported to pdf . It has certain fields with "Can Grow" property. As a result of all this I am facing overlapping text issues due increase in the text length , I don't want to limit the length of text fields. I require an urgent help to deal with this issues.
    Thanks a lot in advance

    Hi Dell,
Is this the thing you wanted me to do :
If yes then I did this but I lost the contents of the Group Footer #6b.
Before applying , in-circled are the overlapping text which are possibly lost after the application
    Before:
After applying these fields are missing
    After:
According to me this might occur due to " Group by " which is removed afterwards.
    Waiting for your reply.

  • Overlapping text is hidden

I'm creating a diagram for my book in Indesign CS5. I've got a text frame for the whole page (containing the text in the page), some shapes and some additional text frames containing labels for my diagram. Those labels are overlapping the main text frame and the label text is hidden. I want the label text to be visible.
I've tried sending the main text frame to the back (Arrange > Send to Back) and bringing the labels to the front. That didn't make a difference. I've also tried making the main text frame fill transparent, and that had no effect either. I guess it must be something simple. Or that Indesign doesn't let you have overlapping text frames and wants you to have jigsaw piece shaped frames all over your page.

Do you know about text wrap?  You apply it to objects and turn it on and off using the Text Wrap panel (Window > Text Wrap).  Then you can set text boxes to ignore that text wrap setting where necessary in their options (select the box and Ctrl + B/Cmd + B).

  • Overlapping text...Whats up?

    Hi
Most of the web pages that i visit have overlapping text & links making it impossible to access and read all of the info at those sites. I thought it was somthing I could fix in the "view" or text encoding but nothing seems to work.
Does anyone else have this problem? How can it be resolved?... Thank

    Hello cuz:
You may have a font problem (or something else).
Open font book and select all and eliminate the duplicates. Then select all and verify the fonts.
Next, clear the Safari cache, trash the preference file (com.apple.safari.plist) and restart.

  • Hidden element overlaps text when link is clicked to unhide div tag

I am using Dreamweaver CS4 and using the slide effect.
When the page loads, the div is initially hidden with (disolay:none).  But when i click the link to show the content, the content is displayed but it overlaps the table beneath it.
I am using 4 collapsible panels.  The hidden element is in the second collapsible panel.
Everything works good except that when the table is displayed after clicking the link to unhide it - it overlaps the 3rd and 4th collapsible panel.  When the table is unhidden by clicking the link, the other tables that are in the same collapsible panels move and this is good, but it overlapps the 3rd and 4th collapsible panel though. How do I fix this?

This is why you don't use absolutely positioned elements to do this kind of thing.  Because absolute positioning REMOVES the positioned element from the normal flow, this element then cannot interact with any other element on the page, nor can any other element interact with it.
The better way to do such a thing would be to use abuse 'display:none' to remove the container from the page rather than 'visibility:hidden', and of course, not to use absolute positioning.  Something like this -
<p>Velit esse cillum dolore <a href="#" onclick="document.getElementById('foo1').style.display='inline'">MORE</a> <span id="foo1" class="hidden">sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.

  • Plot legend overlapping text

I have an xygraph (from silver controls palette) (LabVIEW 2012 (SP1 12.0.1f5). I have encountered a problem where the plot legend text overlaps with plot graphic icon image. I don't know the cause of it but it always starts at my boss's end and the only solution that I have is to replace the xygraph with a new one (by right clicking the graph and selecting replace and then a new xygraph from the silver controls paltete. Is there a solution to this problem (autosize legend is turned on).
This is how it should be (and this is how it starts)
But this is how it ends up (after inderterminate time)
    Any fixes?
    Thanks in advance

Right-click on the graph and go to Advanced->Customize.  You will now have the control editor open.  Click on the wrench in the toolbar.  It should now look like tweezers.  You can now move individual peices around.  This is how you can switch the legend text and icon.

  • How does one overlap text and images

I have the text box and the image on the Pages doc and when I move either to overlap the other, the one not selected "darts" away

    Select the image.
If it is an inline object, change it to Floating.
Click the Wrap button and select 'none'.
Place the image where you want it.
    Select the text box.
Resize it to a close fit around the text.
    Drag it to the image.
If the text slides behind the image:
with the text box still selected,
       go Arrange > Move forward
repeat until the text is visible in front of the image.
    Adjust the placement as necessary.
Change the text colour as needed.
Select both the text box and the image.
Go Arrange > Group to join the two objects in a single group.

  • Pictures overlaping text on blog site

    Hello All,
My wife has been using iWeb 08 to create a blog on some of our adventures. For some reason, with our most recent entry, we've had a lot of problems getting the spacing correct. The pictures are overlapping the text. All looks fine in iWeb before publishing, but once published, it looks terrible with everything overlapping. Here is a link to the page:
    http://web.me.com/joeb78/J%26_B_in_Africa/Blog/Entries/2009/4/17_CapeTown.html
Any help advice on how to correct this issue would be great. It seems like it should publish as it looks in iWeb, but this is not the case. I am guessing it's a problem with the spacing and breaks in the HTML, but I am not sure how to correct.
    Thanks,
    JB

Thanks Fade-2-Black - this solved my problem. After doing some research, I realized that my wife was using one of the iWeb pre-formatted pages for her blogs. In order to add images, she was simply dragging the photos onto the blog page using the "Media" browser. The problem was that this was creating floating images instead of ones that were anchored. So, I just used some text boxes and then the insert/choose command as you suggested and it looks great now.
Thanks so much for the help.

  • Overlap text after first  page

I created an Oracle report using Reports 6i. The report is to generate a shipping label, which is about 6x4 inches. If I preview on the screen or create the output on a normal letter size paper on a printer (8.5x11 inches), they look just fine.
Because this report is for a shipping label, I print this on a Zebra label printer, ONLY the first page looks ok. Starting from the second page, the text was overlapped from the previous page. For example, an customer order has 3 boxes. I need to print three shipping labels by specifying an order number and it generates 3 labels.
Each label has the same type of info like weight. Say Box 1's label has Weight=12 pounds, Box 2's labels has Weight= 34 pounds. Box 3's label has Weight=56 pounds. The first label always looks fine. The second label's Weight=34 is printed, BUT THE WEIGHT FROM THE PREVIOUS LABEL WEIGHT=12 WAS ALSO PRINTED ON TOP OF THE SECOND LABEL. Because the text WEIGHT= is exactly located on both labels and has the same text, it looks fine. The second label's weight 34 has also 12 printed on top.
    1. Do I need to change the setting in the properties? Also by default, the size indicated in the header, main body section, and trailer layout properties are set to Width size of 8.5 inches andI Length of 11 inches. (This is the standard size of a letter paper.) However, I am printing the label size of 6x4 inches, which is the size of the report in the layout editor.
    2. Does it have something to do with the continuation of the previous page? As mentioned above, when I print the label for testing on a 8.5x11 letter size paper. It has no problem. I use the Margin editor to set the dimension to just smaller than 6x4 inches, which is the label size. All the text fields of the label are inside the margin. However, on the layout editor, I saw some solid lines horizontally and verticallly outside of the margin (6x4).
Note: The label printer works fine when using an existing application to print the label (report). So the printer itself does not seem to cause the problem.

The problem was caused by an old driver. Need to install the new driver and everything should work just fine. Hope I can save your time if you run into this problem!!!

  • Alternating overlapping text problem

I'm new to the adobe family and I'm working on a design for one of my friends and he came across a look he was wanting. The problem is I cant figure out how to get the text that is overlapping to alternate from in front to behind and so on and so forth. i've been stuck for a few hours now and i've searched online for a tutorial and cant find one that fits for what I am doing.

    In other words:
When it comes down to it, an Illustrator file is a stack of objects, one in front the other. You cannot have an object partially in front of and partially in back of another object. It just doesn't work that way.
So you have to use multiple objects which merely appear to be one object, and then arrange the pieces in the front/back stacking order to fake the "interlocking." The simplest way is to cut the objects where they do not overlap, and then move the appropriate pieces forward/backward.
This does not require any correspondence to Layers. A Layer is nothing more than a way to "bracket" around a contiguous portion of the object stack, much like a Group. On a simple design like that shown, you're probably going to want to Group the whole thing when you're done anyway, so that it can be seleced and moved around as if it were a single object. Doing so is going to make eveything in the Group move to the same Layer anyway.

  • How do I make subform flow down page without overlaping text?

Here is my issue. I have a checkbox and if the user clicks on the checkbox a paragraph of text (which is in a subform) appears if they uncheck it, the subform of text dissappears. But my problem is if they uncheck it the subform dissapears which is what I want but there is a big gap on white space on the form so how do I get the other text to push up to the checkbox when it is not checked and move down accordingly when the checkbox is checked and the subform appears in the middle?. I am using FormCalc for the coding. My code for the checkbox in the "click" option is
    if($.rawValue ==1)then
    option1subform.presence ="visible"
    else option1subform.presence="invisible"
    endif

    Hi,
'invisible' will make the object (subform) transparent, so that while the user cannot see it, it is still taking up space on the form.
Instead you can use 'hidden', which will not only hide the object, but it wont take up space either, allowing other object to move up and take the space.
HOWEVER, this will only work, if you have the page set to 'flowed', in the Object > Subform palette AND saved the form as a Dynamic XML form in the save as dialog.
    Here is an example: https://acrobat.com/#d=IFY2ZMg4G9XZmJnJJNSw*w
Paul Guerette is doing an online talk on dynamic forms on the 30 November, which you should attend. Details here: Tech Talk: Developing Flowable Form Content
    Hope that helps,
