Overlapping trips

Hi,
I just wanted to make changes in the trip schema by clicking on over lapping of trips to allow employee to create one or more travel request on the same date.
I am able to do the changes in Development & Quality, but I am not able to do changes in Production client (Says: it is not modifiable).
Please suggest to select the Overlapping of trips.
Regards,
S.Srikanth

Hi Rajagaopalan,
Thanks for your reply.
I know that we cannot make direct changes in Production and it has to go through Develpment -> Quality -> Production.
We move the changes based on the Transport request from Develpment -> Quality -> Production.
In this case, when I am selecting the Schema and clicking on the tick box of Over lapping trips in Travel Management - > Employee Self Services - > Interface Configuration for Web Dynpro Interface in Travel Management - > Schema and Single Field Control for Web Dynpro and click on Save it is getting Saved but no Transport request  no.
And thats were I got confused, if no Transport request how to change it in Production.

  • Overlapping trips (for Travel Request - TP04)

    Hi, Gurus
Is there any way so that I can create 2 or more travel requests using the same period for the same employee? It would be a desirable requirement here in our company.
I know that through 'FITVFELD' transaction I can choose, for a given travel schema, if I want to allow overlapping trips (checkbox "Overlapping Trips Allowed"). But it works only for the expense reports ("TRIP" transaction) related to the schema selected. For travel request (TP04) I can't do that.
An example: with "Overlapping Trips Allowed" checked for schema A, I am able to create 2 or more expense reports (schema A) from 11/09/2010 to 11/16/2010. But if I try to create a new travel request (TP04) within this period, the system throws an error.
PS: As we know, unfortunately schema "PL" (Travel Planning) doesn't have "Overlapping Trips Allowed" checkbox... It manages some travel request parameters.
    Thank you
    Roberto

    Hi robtaboaco  ,
you can create two or more overlapping trip.
it will just give u warning if u have overlap trip. but you can still save it.
here's the link, hope it helps to explain..

  • Overlapping Trips using Transaction PR05

We are in the process of upgrading from 4.6C to ECC 6.0.  In our 4.6C system we allow overlapping trips between a Weekly Report (transaction PR04) and a Travel Expense Manager Report (transaction PR05).  This is accomplished using feature TRVPA, the WRC part is set to 1.  This part is working correctly in our new ECC 6.0 system.  In our 4.6C system we are also allowed to have overlapping trips in just the Travel Expense Manager transaction.  What we are experiencing with the ECC system is that this is no longer allowed.  We get a hard error message stating that "trip data for that period already exists.
Is there any way around this?  We have a need to allow overlapping trips using transaction PR05.  Any help would be greatly appreciated seeing as we are to "go live" this weekend.
    Thanks,
    Sue

    Good afternoon
Sorry for being retrieving this issue, but I have the same requirement. Can you please share what was the solution you found for this? Thanks a lot in advance.

  • System should not allow overlapping trips

How to restrict the sytem - overlapping trips should not be allowed in R3 as well as ESS. Error message should be displayed.

    That is a standard functionality.
Say  you have created a trip from 01.01.2009 to 05.01.2009 and created an expense report for it.
Now you try to create another travel request from 03.01.2009 to 07.01.2009, system will give error

  • Creating overlapping trips in PR05

    Hi all,
I am currently working on a  Travel and Expense project. The client requires the ability to create Travel Requests and other trip objects that could possibly overlap in terms of time.  SAP returns a stop-error when a trip is to be created in PR05 (or PR01, PR02, HRTRV_IF_MODIFY_TRIP, etc) that overlaps the period of an existing trip.  Has anyone encountered this as a requirement, and can you make a recommendation on how to proceed?
    Thanks for the help,
    Marcos Suero
    Arinso International

    Hello Marcos,
It is possible to do what you are describing.  However, this functionality is only available in the later releases of SAP.  I believe that this became available in ECC 5.0 (but it could have been 4.7).  If you are running one of these versions, the control is accessed via the FITVFELD or FITVFELD_WEB transactions.  It appears in the form of a checkbox called "Overlapping Trips Allowed" on the main config screen for a schema.
    Best Regards,
    Marc

  • Enhancement for overlapping trips in MTR

I am implementing MTT2.0, previously we used the ZEnhancementProvider to allow overlapping trips by writing the validation for the "TRIP_OVERLAPPING_VALIDATION" action.  However in MTR2.0 I cannot find sufficient documentation to help me to  recreate this validation, the concept seems to have changed completely.  (I have a copy of the enhancement guide, this does not contain enough detail).
Is it possible to trap the default validation and write my own any more?  If so can you let me know where the supporting documentation is for this?

    Hello Marina,
The new MTT 2.0 uses mCAF. The enhancements are completly different. They are much more powerful because you can enhance almost all parts of the application.
For mCAF I suggest you read this <a href="/people/karsten.strothmann/blog/2006/12/12/the-mobile-client-application-framework--enhancing-mobile-applications-made-easy.
For the enhancement you are talking about please have a look at com.sap.mbs.mtr.trip.process.impl.TripValidationImpl.validateOverlappingTrips()
    Have a nice day!

  • Travel Management - Overlaping Trips

    Hi,
This is a Travel Managment issue.
I have a requirement to permit overlaping of trips in transaction PR05.
For example, there is an approved trip from 01/01/2009 to 05/01/2009 in PR05. If you try to enter an overlapping (concurrent) trip say from 02/01/2009 to 04/01/2009, the sytem will not allow you to do so. My requirement is to remove this restiction. Hence allowing the user to create expense claims for overlaping periods in PR05 which is linked to ESS.
Your response is highly appreciated and will be rewarded with points.
    Thanks
    KP

    HI,
In the trip schema select the tick box of over lapping of trips. Once you select this, you would be able to create multiple travel request on the same day.
    Goto the following node:
Travel Management --> Travel Expenses --> Dialog and Travel Expenses Control --> Dialog Control --> Define Schema and Individual Field Control.
In the above select overlapping of trips allowed tick box.
    Hope this helps.

  • Same day same time trip

I am able to create two travel requests in the same time and same date. There is no error from the system.
I have checked schema and there "Overlapping trips allowed" is not checked.
Moreover in TRVPA feature I have made WRC 0.
    Still there is no error
Please sugeest how to get rid of this.

    Hi Chandra
Sorry I could not understand what exactly you wanted to say.
What I understand is if I have created a trip request (e.g 01.10.2008 to 10.10.2008) and it has not been settled till now, I can create another one in that period,
    but
If the first one is already settled, I will not be able to create another one.
    Right?
    Please explain

  • Overlapping Travel Requests

My system is allowing travel requests to overlap (not sure how it was set by consultant).  In previous threads there are many whose systems will NOT allow overlapping requests.  I want to prevent overlapping requests.  Can someone tell me what the settings are to prevent the overlapping?

    Hi Sally
In standard Travel Request uses the trip schema PL and for organizational reasons, it should be possible in the planning phase
to create two travel request that overlap. and as long as there is no expense report linked to a travel request it is possible to create further request that overlaps with the first one. The standard response for TRIP is that a warning will occur when you try to create overlapping trip
You need to check in T code PE03 for TRVPA for feature "WRC" as follows
    The following values are possible:
o   0 = Overlapping times are not possible
    o   1 = Overlapping times are possible
BUT this is only possible of the trip schema 01. For trip schema PL
it is NOT possible to configure overlapping trip unless by modification.
And also this is relevant for trips only created in PR04 with this feature as the
value here will depend on whether you also have trip from PR05 , PR02 etc
The only way to prevent this fully is to modify the coding in include
    FITP_GET_VALUE, TRIP_WISH_CHECK_OVERLAP and CHECK_OVERLAP.

  • Warning when the trip for the date already exist

    hi friends
In the travel. When the trip is applied for a particular date when i again try to apply the trip for the same date it shows only waring but actually it should be a error. I want to make the warning into error. How to make that which BADI is called. Since am applying the trip from my portal. I want to display the warning into error to portal. Which BADI or Function Module is evolved .
    Regards
    vijay

    Hello Vijay,
As long as there is no expense report linked to a travel request it is
possible to create a further request that overlaps with the first one.
This system behaviour is generally correct as during the planning
phase of a trip it should be possible to create overlapping trips.
Thus you only get a warning message that there are already trip dates
and not an error (as soon as an expense report has been created an error
message occurs if you try to create a new travel request that overlaps
    the expense report).
This is the standard design for overlapping checks concerning travel
    requests.
In TRVPA you can set the warning message into an error message.

    Raynard

  • Same date travel not allowed

    Hi experts..
    I want to ask,
how to block or restrict employee from creating the same date for travel request for another request?
so if the employee has already had trip for 01.04.2010 - 04.04.2010, he will not be able to create another travel request for the same date?!
i want it the same for travel expense too.
    thanks

    Hi,
To block overlapping trips in travel expense,
TM-->Travel Expenses >Dialog and travel expenses control>dialog control-->Define Schema and individual Field Control         -->trip schema(domestic)
uncheck the field "overlapping trips allowed"

  • Travel Expense: Error: Travel Exp already exist not possible to switch schema

    Dear Team,
I am supporting Travel Management in one reputed company.
User facing one issue where TRF raised by copying one old TRF, during that time Travel expense report also getting copied. It is not giving any error while raising TRF in this process, but when the user trying to raise TER for the same he is geeing error: 'Travel Expenses already exist not possible to switch schema' Kindly suggest how can I stop this. Attached is the ESS Screen.
    Regards,
    Adi.

    Hi Adi,
no. Leave that as it is. I wasn't entirely sure whether the field's value influences the TER in any way. But since it is = 1 and your TER schema collides, this is completely irrelevant. Still good to have this ruled out.
Have you checked what I wrote concerning FITVFELD_WEB? There's a checkbox in the schema "Overlapping Trips allowed" (loosely translated from German, might not be verbatim). If it's not checked, check it and retry.
Again though: 4 years ago, as I already stated in my earlier posts, these settings had no impact on the collision of Travel Expense Claims and coexisting TERs in the same time were not possible. I assume it is still not possible, so we're clutching at straws here.
However. If I understood your business needs correctly, you actually do not want the expense report data/indicators to be taken into account, because you just need the copy for the Travel Request, right? There might be chances for implicit enhancements and "killing" that bit information from the copied TE-Cluster entry so it doesn't stray into the copy of the Travel Request Copy anymore.
    Cheers, Lukas

  • Overlapped I/O error 997 installing SQL Server 2014 Express on Windows Server 2012 R2

I'm attempting to install SQL Server 2014 Express on a Windows Server 2012 R2 system. When I do the install, it fails (several times) with an "Error: 997. Overlapped I/O operation is in progress.". From searching the web, I can see many people
have had this problem with this installer and other non-SQL server installers.
I've tried every solution I can find discussed, but none help with my problems The system is fully updated, with the exception of the KB2538243 (VC 2008 SP1 redist), which is probably failing for the same reason.
I've tried removing several updates mentioned in other articles (KB2918614). I've confirmed that I'm not using a temporary profile.
Does anyone have an idea of how I can solve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Zack

  • How do I merge overlapping catalogs??

Julieanne Kost tutorial mentions that when you have overlapping catalogs there is a different problem. Unfortunately, she doesn't tell how to deal with that. When I merged my catalogs with LR4 (they were created in LR3), I got the new catalog with new folders but no photos available. I am trying to consolidate several overlapping catalogs (don't ask how that happened.) onto a new external hard drive where most of my folders now reside. I moved the foldes to the new drive with LR3, not by dragging the folders themselves. I also want to transfer some photos from a pocket drive usedn ona trip to the new 2TB external drive.

When you import a catalog into another, Lightroom is supposed to recognize whicf file is new and which file is already in the catalog.

  • Trip Number Range

    Hi,
In PR10, for Personal Area 'A' we have two trip number ranges : first from 0001 to 0050 which is exhasted fully. And another is from 9000 to 9999.
Now when user is trying to create trip , the error is coming "Number assignment: Last number has been assigned".
I am not able to crack as to why system is not picking second number range.
    What should I do ?
    Regards
    Krunal

Transaction SNUM or PR10.. you can do this there and close the first range and then create the new range for personnel area, it is the same transaction.
New personnel area is object RP_PREL and trip is RP_REINR ...for example:
When a new personnel number is entered, the system determines which number range the control data is assigned to.
The number range is maintained using transaction PA04. (obj RP_PREL)
    for example, in RP_PREL:
    01 00000001 90000000
    02 90000001 99990000   X
    feature NUMKR:
    NUMKR Infotype 0000 (Actions)
            BUKRS Company Code
                AU01 Country Template AU
                    01
                DE01 Country Template DE
                    02
so when create a new employee, if the company code is AU01, then it will use internal assignment; while if the company code is DE01, then it will use the external assignment.
You then need to consider accordingly for travel number range RP_REINR when assigning the personnel area to trip number range.
Also, whilst it is possible to change the trip range as I mentioned previously, it would be advisable to perhaps start in a
different trip range eg 1000000 as opposed to changing the existing range as this means there is less potential of trip incurring duplicate number or being assigned to two different personnel.
If you want to change a number range, you must first set the current current number to initial, then delete the numbe range interval and then create a new interval which is not overlapping with thedeleted one and not overlapping with any existing one!
    One more point to remember:
You can create this directly in PRD without transporting from QA and in fact note 91212 explains more, You might also want to check the SAP help regarding this
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/2a/fa0365493111d182b70000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
o  For reasons of data consistency (this is the main reason why number ranges must not be transported automatically!!), you should    generally avoid transporting number ranges and recreate these in  the target system.
    Best of luck with it
    Sally
