Just for information, but I built myself a HTPC system using the Media Live, the same WinTV Nova-DT 500 tuner as topic starter and Windows Vista Home Premium.
I also got the same stuttering problem, which I discovered is caused by the default built-in Microsoft MPEG2 codec.
Fix:
# Purchase and install a third-party MPEG2 (DVD) codec, such as PowerDVD, WinDVD or Nvidia Pure Decoder.
# Download and run the Vista Decoder Selection Tool
# Change your video decoder from the Microsoft MPEG2 codec to the one you just installed
# Restart Windows Media Center, and you should find the stuttering a lot better. Any stuttering I get now, I know is down to bad TV signal!
Thank your post, Mr. Stu
The same stuttering problem in Vista confused me a lot of time.
Now, I will try to fix the issue by your suggestoin.

Hey Guys.
I have my MythTV setup at home with 2 HVR4000 DVB-S/S2 (Hauppauge) Which have runned without any problems earliere on.
But after getting a new Masterbackend server and added the HVR cards and ionstalled everything - something about the cards goes wrong.
I have installed the lipian-s2 (I think they are named) drivers and downloaded the firmware.
But no matter what - I just getting several errors - and jumping backl out to main menu.
I cannot figure out what to do! - and where it goes wrong - sasc-ng log:

MSI TV@nywhere A/D nb: problem with DVB-t
HI! I'm new!
I've bought a TV@nywhere A/D NB on 4 April 2007...and I've some troubles with the DVB-T!!!
With the Analog TV everything is OK, but when I try to see Digital TV the program crashes!!!
1) I click on DVB button (OK)
2) I click on Search (in Italian RICERCA)
3) again on Search for some seconds it seems to be OK...but it crashes without any message but the windows one!!!
HELP ME!!!
I might say the MSI drivers are a little be old and also the program!
Ah!my pc is:
Aspire 2001 wlmi
Intel centrino
Windows XP SP 2
ram 1256 megabites
ati radeon 9200 64nope , it isn't.And i say so because with the very same antenna (central bulding antenna) and with the same cable it worked fine at my media center pc through a pci to pcmcia adapter. It worked with both MSI and Lifeview drivers/apps.
At this media center i have installed also the above mendioned codec packs. No need to do anything more than the driver and apps installations.Scan for channels and that was it....Worked. -
Advanced overlay problem with white
I'm trying to create an advanced overlay using all four grayscale shades. All of the color mapping is working correctly except that bringing up the white opacity maps the color over areas that are transparent in the .psd file.
In other words in the overlay my text is white. I have a green color mapped to white. Bringing up the opacity results in green text but also green in the surrounding areas that in the PS file are transparent.
Any suggestions?
ThanksThe reason is that white and transparent are effectively the same thing when you do this - the white setting needs to be on zero to ensure the areas around your shape within the button area remain clear.
To get around it you have to use only three of the grey shades - 33%, 66% and 100% (Black).
Make your overlay text black and map that to be green, then raise the opacity and you should be OK. Anything you currently have set as black needs to go to 66% and anything else needs to be at 33%.
It's very limiting, I know, but it is the way sub picture streams work, I'm afraid. -
Overlay problem with embedded video
On the homepage of http://www.koersoprollen.eu you will see an embedded youtube video.
When you hover the Google+ button on the bottom and you are logged in in Google+, you will see that a part of the dialog box is underneath the video and an other part is on top.
Thank you.I know that all fullscreen videos are flexible to both orientation. What´s happens here is before show your vertical layout the viewer shows the vertical video. You need to try in custom app...Produce an IPA file and test it.
Maybe be a bug...

OK WE HAVE DONE IT AN ORANGE PROTECTIVE SCREEN OVERLAY FOR IPOD AND IPAD STOPPING JOHN'S SEIZURES AND STOPPING EYE PROBLEMS WITH USAGE ABLE TO CUT ANY SIZE FOR PHONES EG
Contact me Steve the idea is great and the pictures are reveal a better depth perception of colour call me a Mum that created a diffence for her son and kept him communicating on his ipod and his ipad proffessors were amazed at childrens hospital and would love to show you my ideas in making it built in to your ipod and ipads or any computer for that matter everyone i show is blown away not only that but a wider customer level will be reached from a Mum that made a difference for her son that was unable to communicate and then had seizures so developed my own cover that allows him to chat all day without having any eye problems.
So we now sell the covers on ebay to help others access technology that they need in order to survive and live happily as without his ipod or ipad and him telling us what was wrong he would of died he had respritory lung disease photosensitive epilepsy a metabolic condition that could of killed him anytime from stroke or seizure battled with using all types of technology but now is a dream come true.
Would love for this to be enabled in the setup of all computers alike to protect eyes and allow more users to speak and communicate a big thankyou to the creators and designers fabulous but please can you call me as this could make you even better i mean will and also give me more time.
From one praying God fearing Mum
Nadine
Call me i do have better pics they were too big to upload orange covering on right hand sideGoing through the feedback and support pages will be a waste of your time. Apple won't respond to feedback, and support can't do anything regarding product suggestions, particularly not from a company with an existing product they wish to sell. The only attention you might get from Apple would be possible interest in selling your product through the Apple Stores, and I don't know how Apple chooses the third-party products they sell. All I could suggest would be writing to Apple's corporate headquarters:
Apple
1 Infinite Loop
Cupertino, CA 95014
with perhaps "Attention: Retail Sales Division" and telling them about your product and your interest in it being sold through the Apple Stores.

[GeForce 6] Big Problems with NX6600GT VTD128 AGP and Video Overlay
Got trouble to Install the NX6600GT VTD128 AGP VGA-Adapter right.
I already tried out with latest Drivers from MSI 71.22 and the ForceWare 66.93 NVidiadrivers, but no Overlay at all in my Grabbing Software.
It's a DV-Storm of Canopus with Storm Edit installed. With my Ti4200 (also MSI VGA-Card) never had those Problems.
In the Canopus Storm-Edit Software is an Preview-Window to check the grabbing Process. Now, with the new 6600GT Card it's a black screen.
When I press any key, shortly I see a TV Picture. It's an Overlay Problem of the 6600GT.
How do I have to install/configure the 6600GT VGA that Overlay is working fine.
The System:
Intel P4 HT 3,2 GHz
ASUS P4P800 with AGP 8x
DV-Storm in PCI Slot 2
IDE Raid Promise Fasttrack 100
1024 MB DDR400 Corsair CL2
Latency Timer on 128 (doesn't work with PCI Latency Timer = 64 too)
DirectX 9.0c, XP with SP2 and latest Patches, MSI-Driver Version 71.22 (or Reference Driver 66.93 NVidia)
This Configuration is working fine (Overlay = OK) when re-install the GeForce4 Ti4200 of MSI
>>>Problem solved<<<
.....a wonderful Canopus Patch to "clean" the ForceWare Drivers like a big LIGHT in the Nvidia-DARKNESS gives hope and wellness to my PCI found the solution while I cruised in the forum, I used Driver Cleaner to erase the driver file on my HD, and the installation worked perfectly... Sorry about my useless post

Bubble chart - problem with overlaying bubble
Hi all,
I have problem with bubble chart. Two bubbles are overlaying, that wouldn't be a problem, but one of this two bubbles is bigger and other is smaller. This smaller is beneath bigger. Why smaller is not on top of bigger? How to solve this?
ThanksHi Andrew,
We have experienced similar problems, however they usually were with much larger models (10+ tabs, 10+ components in each).
If you're using a lot of data or more intensive processes/components, that may have caused the problem to express earlier, though.
The best recommendation is to keep Tabset use shallow: don't embed containers within containers, not too many components in a tab, not too many tabs. -
Problems with Overlay Layout - can anyone spot something wrong/missing?
Hi folks, I'm developing a tool that allows you to draw rectangles around objects on an image. The rectangles are then saved, and you can move between images. For some reason, though my rectangles are not drawing on the panel. I am using the Overlay Layout. Can anyone spot what I'm doing wrong? (The TopPanel canvas appears to be there, as it's taking input from the mouse - the problem is simply that the red rectangles are not drawing on the panel). Please help!!
So you know, there is a JFrame in another class which adds an instance of the ObjectMarker panel to it. It also provides buttons for using the next and previous Image methods.
Any other general advice is appreciated too.

}Regards,
EricAlright so I fixed it! I created a new class called BottomPanel extends JPanel, which I then gave the responsibility of drawing the image. I gave it an update method which took the details of the currentImage and displayed it on the screen.
If anybody's interested I also discovered/solved a problem with my mouseListener - I couldn't drag backwards. I fixed this by adding tests looking for negative widths and heights. I compensated accordingly by reseting the rectangle origin to e.getX(), e.getY() and by setting the to original_origin.x - e.getX() and original_origin.y - e.getY().
No problem! -

Peferling
==================
Boy, you are not kidding, I was running both the cloud and CS6, and I was ready to throw in the towel.
I have changed computer's twice now, have a solid state hd, (which I love) with 10 terabytes on externals, I run NOTHING except adobe's stuff on my HD now, and only one version of it, and it runs like a dream.
So, I updated the OS to win 8.1, updated my peripherals,
I dumped CS6 (hated to, but for some reason my 3D won't work on it, it works fine with the cloud) but in CS6 the software was turning it off after adobe's last update.
I've made a virtual machine for my development environments which do not play well with adobe's stuff.
My rule of thumb has always been double what the manufacturer states is required for RAM, but imho, with my current upgrades: upgraded to win8.1, and other peripherals, spent two weeks changing stuff over and it's about 100 times better than trying to run CC and CS6. - No kidding, the change is astronomical
But for anything PC I'm way over powered, and for Adobe, I'm still underpowered.
Next, I'll just get a mac for Adobe, and stick with my pc's for ms/CentOS. Too, it seems like since the cloud was initiated Adobe is rolling out the updates faster and changes without warning. The processor/3D issue, I had no warning on it, just woke up one day and "no more 3d" :S
But I do love the cloud, so, guess there's got to be some dark lining to it. <g> -
Latest version is not very good! I am using Firefox and have just installed the latest version (11,7,700,224). Playing Forge of Empires it is massively laggy, can wait for several minutes before it accepts mouse clicks (when scrolling so far as I can see - it just blocks); and the bug which causes it to crash whenever the screen is turned off is still there.
tHIS IS MY PROBLEM:
I have problems with adobe flash 11.7.700.224 that it is causing my Mozilla Firefox to constantly crash, 20 times in 5 seconds. And now I have another problem with adobe flash that it interfears with Mozilla Firefox making it not to work.

Some problems with 3D with xorg 1.9.2-1 and xf86-video-intel 2.12.0-3
I have some problems with the upgrade to xorg 1.9.1-1 and xf86-video-intel 2.12.0-3. Glxgears does not run smoothly at all and I got 15-20 fps (instead of the normal 60 because intel should sync with the V refresh rate). Very curiously, these problems disapear if I move the mouse cursor somewhere in the screen. Then glxgears run smooth and I have indeed the expected 60 fps
There are no error messages and glxinfo say that 3D is indeed enabled.

Do you have problems with anything that's *not* glxgears?
I have indeed not seen other problems. Presently the only other software that I believe use openGL that I use is googleearth; which run fine. Could it be a problem with glxgears? -
Lenovo 3000 n200 problem with usb tv-stick
hi guys,
i have a problem with my lenovo 3000 and the hvr-900 usb tv-stick from hauppauge. driver installation and software installation from wintv is no problem. finding the channels ist also no problem. sound is good but i have no pictures... the display ist black.
my grafik chip is the intel GMA X3100 onboard. i thought it was a problem with the overlay function. the wintv software shows me "surface vmr" on my old desktop with the old wintv pci card it shows me "surface overlay".
internet tv (tvu, tv ants...) works without any difficulties. but i can`t find a function to activate "overlay".
has anyone an idea? thanks for helping.i try an older usb machine from hauppauge which supports analog only (the new stick supports analog/digital) and... it works... the wintv software shows me "surface overlay"... crazy...
now i use this until i find a solution for the stick ;-)
thanks for helping -
No TV sound - Problem with Pulseaudio and Gnome
Hi Community!
Since January 2013 I got big problems with the sound of my tvcard. The card is a Sundtek Media TV Pro. But after all the problems have nothing to to with the card itself!
So far I found out, that the problem is with Pulseaudio.
- Sound works under Windows on same PC.
- Sound don't work under Arch - not with tvtime, not with vlc, etc.
- Problem occurs even on a new installed system with the Arch-2013-02-01 install medium.
cat /etc/mediasrv.log
[1033] Pulseaudio connect reported an error (6 - Connection refused)

After setting up a new Arch installation with just xorg-server, gnome, tvtime and the sundtek driver from AUR I run journalctl -b:

With sudo journalctl | grep 'Feb 10 16:2' I get the following output:

So, if I understand right, pulseaudio is alreade started by the rtkit-daemon and gnome couldn't start it again.
At https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/30926 I found a hint concerning /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio.desktop and /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio-kde.desktop.
After removing them from /etc/xdg/autostart and running journalctl -b there are no more errors.
With sudo journalctl | grep 'pulseaudio' I get:
sudo journalctl | grep 'Feb 10 17:4' | grep 'pulse*'
Feb 10 17:41:42 hightower rtkit-daemon[485]: Successfully made thread 484 of process 484 (/usr/bin/pulseaudio) owned by '120' high priority at nice level -11.
Feb 10 17:41:55 hightower rtkit-daemon[485]: Successfully made thread 625 of process 625 (/usr/bin/pulseaudio) owned by '1000' high priority at nice level -11.
In my opinion all looks ok! I also checked the channels with the alsamixer and it looks good, too.
So I ran vlc v4l2://:dev=/dev/video0:width=720:height=576:tuner-frequency=510750:adev=/dev/null:standard=255 - but still no sound.
With cat /var/log/mediasrv.log I checked the drivers logfile:

I started tvtime again. This time I ran rm -rf ~/.config/pulse/ and killall pulseaudio to kill the Pulseaudio server. I instantly got a loud noise out of my speakers.
I closed tvtime and re-opened it. And there it was: TV SOUND OUT OF MY SPEAKERS!
But now, when I run pavucontrol I get:
Connection to PulseAudio failed. Automatic retry in 5s.
In this cas this is likely because PULSE_SERVER in the Environment/X11 root Windows Properties or default-server in client.conf is misconfigured.
This situation can also arrise when PulseAudio crashed and left stale details in the X11 Root Windows.
If this is the case, then PuseAudio should autospawn again, or if this is not configured you sould run start-pulseaudio-x11 manually.
I got the information from Sundtek, that Pulseaudio should not be started as system service. Instead, every user should have an own Pulseaudio daemon and that PA was concepted this way. But they don't know how it is implemented in ArchLinux.
I also don't know it exactly. So the question to all you ArchLinu pro's:
How is PA implemented in Arch? And how can I sustainable solve my problem?
Thank you for your time and help!
DuragThere is just one more thing I found out.
After logging into Gnome and running ps aux | grep pulse I get:
rebel 727 0.7 0.2 444316 10288 ? S<l 03:02 0:00 /usr/bin/pulseaudio --start --log-target=syslog
rebel 731 0.0 0.0 71236 2652 ? S 03:02 0:00 /usr/lib/pulse/gconf-helper
rebel 843 0.0 0.0 17396 1184 pts/0 D+ 03:03 0:00 grep pulse
To get the sound to work I run:
rm -rf .config/pulse/
killall pulseaudio
killall -9 pulseaudio
I again run ps aux | grep pulse
rebel 4016 4.2 0.2 510124 11528 ? Sl 03:06 0:02 /usr/bin/pulseaudio --start --log-target=syslog
rebel 4020 0.0 0.0 71368 2700 ? S 03:06 0:00 /usr/lib/pulse/gconf-helper
rebel 4046 0.0 0.0 19456 1216 pts/0 R+ 03:07 0:00 grep pulse
I can recognize that the STATs have changed. Maybe this can help to solve the problem? -
Problem with Classroom in a book
I have been working through the lessons in Adobe Premier Elements 11 Classroom in a book and am having a problem with Lesson 6 "Creating a Picture-in-Picture overlay. the lesson comes with Greenscreen.mov file to be used in the lesson but when I try to use it I get the error message in a pop up "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed. As this is the file downloaded from the CD that came with the book and can't understand why I am having a problem using it.

It appears that my first impression of your situation was correct, that is, another Classroom in a Book corrupt/damaged lesson file as confirmed by nealeh's detailed post numbered 5.
You may want to bookmark this thread and the link to the publisher since you may run into other corrupt/damaged files are you proceed through the book's lessons.
Regarding what you wrote
As a further note I went on to lesson 7 creating transitions. You start by openning Lesson07_Start_Win.prel. It tells me to open the file Lesson07_Movie.mov in the project assets panel and to open and play it in the preview window. When I do that the greenscreen.mov that I could not open in lesson 6 appears to be running in the preview mode but maybe that is because the whold clip is done together as a completed mov file??
That might be explained by nealeh's report that the greenscreen.mov exists in more than one place.
The following is the link to the Premiere Elements 12 Help PDF. You might want to cross check with it as you go through your book's lessons.

Give the keyframing another look. If problems with the concept and its working through, please let us know and we can provide some step by step information on that.
Glad for the opportunity to be of assistance. Please do not hesitate to ask if you need any help with your Premiere Elements workflows.
Thanks.
