Overload manually overtime work

Please, could you help me to better understand the calculating methods of MS Project because I don't well understand MS Project behaviour: To explain my problem, here is my context :
CONTEX
Calendar : Std (08:00-12:00 / 13:00-17:00) assigned to all tasks
Auto schedule activated
Resource R1 :
Calendar standard excepted for February 10 2014 with working time 08:00 - 12:00
Capacity ___
For February 10, 2014 = 100%
For February 11 to 15, 2014 = 50%
Cost rate___
for February 10 , 2014 Std rate 10€ and overtime rate 20€
for February 11, 2014 std rate 20€ overtime rate 40€
Task 1 :
Constraint Start not earlier than February 10, 2014 08:00
finish date February 11,2014 17:00
fixed Work = 15h
For the Gantt Chart, I display Resource usage view => 3 panels + 1 chart
On the left detail part, I enter 7h on the overtime work field (after manual insert of this field)
On the  right part of the resource usage view, I enter for :
February 10 , work 8 => overallocation automatically calculated  = 4 => Ok
February 11, work 7 =>  overallocation automatically calculated  = 3 => Ok
PROBLEM
But MS project calculates also overtime work, and I don't understand how because
For February 10 , overtime work  = 3,28h
For February 11, ovt work = 3,72
Firstly, no way to change this repartition, automatically calculated. Impossible to type data on ovt work field
Secondly, it's better to overload the ovt work of the Feb. 10 because this ovt rate is lower than the ovt rate of the Feb.11
Finally the total calculated cost  by Project = €327,19 but according to my own calculation it should be egal to €334,40
Feb 10 = 4h std time x 10 std rate  + 3,28h ovt x 20 ovt rate = €105,60
Feb 11 = (4 x 20 ) + (3,72 x 40) = €228,80
Total cost = €334,40
Thanks a lot for your help

No, you cannot manually enter Overtime work in the timescaled view of Task Usage or Resource Usage. Project will also not modify the amount of overtime based upon what is the most cost effective.  In my scenario, the overtime was split evenly based
upon the assignment units of 100% for both days.
I am seeing what I consider an error in the assignment values that Project is using.  When I did your scenario test yesterday (Feb 10) the resource was assigned 4 hours of work but at 100% assignment value.  The 4 hours from the edited calendar
but 100% because that was his/her max units.  The rest of the assignment was also at 100%, causing an overallocation.
However, today when I repeat the same scenario on a new file, I see the assignment units are incorrectly applied on Feb 10 - they are applied at 50% and the duration of the task blows up to 3.75 days.  It appears as though Project is assigning the resource
at what ever their max units are as of the date of the assignment and not paying attention to the contoured availability.

  • Project Server 2013---question about overtime work

    Hi all,
    I am not quite clear about the overtime work. Do we need to insert the plan overtime work cor all tasks at the beginning and project members should update it so that project server will automatically caculate the overtime work field for all tasks and resources?
    Or we need to directly update the overtime work to get the data manually? Any sharing is highly appreciated!
    Regards,
    Anna

    Hi Anna,
    If the team member enters 10h for a day whereas your project calendar specifies that working hours are 8hrs/day, Project will NOT automatically dispatch actuals between actual and overtime actual in MS Project.
    Team members have to select "overtime" in the timesheet and enter overtime actuals. If approved by the project manager, it will be reflected as overtime actual work in the project plan. The point is that a resource can do 10hrs a day but without
    counting it as overtime, since the same resource could do only 6 hrs the next day. Thus over the 2 days, there will have no overtime.
    Note that in my case, it is grayed out since it can be deactivated in the timesheet settings.
    Hope this helps,

  • Can't connect to WiFi networks via tray icon, manually adding works fine

    I've searched for about a day for anyone having a similar issue and have come up with nothing so far.  I have an older HP laptop with Windows 7 32 bit that is having issues with connecting to WiFi networks.  It will find all available wireless
    networks just fine, and when I select mine, it comes up with the prompt to enter my password, however when I hit OK to connect, the prompt disappears and nothing happens or responds afterwards.  A few things that I've tried in order to troubleshoot and
    narrow down the problem:
    -I've tried connecting to two different wireless networks; one with WPA2 encryption and one with no encryption, both have the same issue (obviously the non-encrypted wireless network doesn't prompt for a password, but once I hit connect all prompts disappear
    and acts as if I did nothing).
    -I've added the WPA2 encrypted network manually to my list of wireless networks, and once I do this it connects just fine.  When removed, it disconnects and the issue happens again (this confirms that the wireless password I'm entering is correct and
    that there are no issues with the wireless network itself, as well as other devices working flawlessly on the same wireless network).
    -I've disabled all firewalls and antivirus through this whole process, did not make a difference.
    -I've reset winsock which didn't make a difference.
    -I've run a virus scan, no viruses on the laptop.
    I've run out of ideas as to what would prevent being able to connect to a wireless network through the normal process of finding nearby access points, putting in your password, and having it work.  I understand that I could simply leave the wireless
    network added manually, but this is not an option for when the laptop is taken elsewhere as having to add whatever wireless network I'm near manually is not something that should have to be done.

    I would recommend to update the driver for you wireless nic as a first step. Also, if installed, get rid of third party utilities that 'manage' your wireless network(s)
    Also check if you can
    clear out the remembered connections i've encountered issues before when a network with same ssid but different connection settings was stored by windows.

  • NAT overload is not working when i configure Double NAT for VPN

    I have Cisco 2921 router with OS version 15.1(4)M1.
    the router is configured for NAT overload and working fine, i have site to site VPN tunnel with peer with normal NAT translation. now we need to configure Double NAT on the VPN tunnel as we need to free the subnet on peer network. for double nat i use 3.2.21.x - 3.2.23.x / 24 network and apply following command
    Double NAT translation
    ip nat inside source static network 192.168.10.0 3.2.21.0 /24 no-alias

    I have the same problem also.  Restarting isn't helping and the auto lock/unlock button is on.  Plus a couple of time when I turn it on it is asking if I want to power off.  That is when I push the button on the front to wake it up.  Not the power button on top.  I have an IPAd 2. Worked fine before the update.

  • Wicd fails to connect/inconsistently connects, manual connect works.

    Hi all, wicd is failing to connect after an update today. I've tried both my wired and wireless networks; it fails to connect to both for the majority of the time. I've been able to connect 1 or twice to both without failure, however. Manually running "sudo dhcpcd eth0" connects without issue. The issue seems to be with dhcpcd 5.5.4-1, as a downgrade to the [core] version (5.2.12-4) fixes the issue. Any ideas?

    I had a similar problem yesterday (especially reffering to the error "Exception KeyError: KeyError(-1219500352,) in <module 'threading' from '/usr/lib/python2.7/threading.pyo'> ignored"
    And after reading https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=121589 i synced my system time with my hwclock and it worked after that. The command I used:
    hwclock -u -systohc
    It may be the cause of your problem as well...
    My hardware clock and system time are in sync and there's no change of time in my logs like is mentioned in the thread. I don't think this is the issue.
    EDIT: This seems to be limited to my home network, possibly an IPv6 problem. Maybe the IPv6 address is not being assigned properly somewhere?

  • Bug in Oracle-grid/sapctl setup .. manually it works

    I want to protect the standalone enqueue server with Oracle cluster (11.2.0.2).
    Somehow the connection between crs and sapctl does not work properly - funny enough, the manual invocation of crssapactions.pl is successful (see below) .
    [root@rac11a ~]# crsctl status res -t
    sap.QRC.ERS71.startsrv
          1        OFFLINE OFFLINE
    sap.QRC.SCS51.javaenq

          1        ONLINE  UNKNOWN      rac11a
    sap.QRC.javavip
          1        ONLINE  ONLINE       rac11a
    When I want to start the sapstartsrv with crs, an error occurs
    [root@rac11a ~]# crsctl start res sap.QRC.SCS51.startsrv -n rac11a

    This is the log:

    Where's the bug....?

    Hi,
    Have you resolved this issue, If yes please let me know the solution as we are facing the same issue after upgrading the sapctl from version 4.0 to 6.0.

  • Autostart of network-service fails, but manual start works fine

    I followed a guide to set up a network connection. The steps were to create a network config (/etc/config.d/network)
    interface=eth0
    address=192.168.1.2
    netmask=24
    broadcast=192.168.1.255
    gateway=192.168.1.1
    then a service description (/etc/systemd/system/network.service)
    [Unit]
    Description=Network startup
    Wants=network.target
    Before=network.target
    [Service]
    Type=oneshot
    RemainAfterExit=yes
    EnvironmentFile=/etc/conf.d/network
    ExecStart=/sbin/ip link set dev ${interface} up
    ExecStart=/sbin/ip addr add ${address}/${netmask} broadcast ${broadcast} dev ${interface}
    ExecStart=/sbin/ip route add default via ${gateway}
    ExecStop=/sbin/ip addr flush dev ${interface}
    ExecStop=/sbin/ip link set dev ${interface} down
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
    and then enable the service using systemctl enable network.
    After the rebooting calling systemctl states the service as failed. If I start it manually using systemctl start network everything works fine.
    How do I get it to work with autostart? Thanks in advance.

    With 'a guide' I presume you referred to this guide
    The guide states
    To set static IP on enp3s0 interface you will need to create /etc/conf.d/network@enp3s0 config file and run:
    # systemctl enable [email protected]
    where enp3s0 has to be changed into your own interface name.

  • E2000 Manual Setup -- Works, but where is reference to Guest login??

    I manually set up my E2000 (with latest firmware 1.0.02 build4) and it works on my system... 5Ghz band, WPA2 Personal, with custom shared key.
    I'm actually getting faster speeds than the 54G V1 that it replaces......
    But I hear there is a guest login..... and I want to change the default password for guest login... and manually I cannot see any references to Guest login or their settings....
    Did I miss something?  Why can't I find it in the setups?
    Not using Software Setups, using the old fashioned manual setups.... So that I know the paticulars of my setups...
    Thanks for your direction....
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I've been in chat twice now...
    Aparantly if you manually set up a E2000, and I'm guessing you change the default IP, then the Cisco Connect software doesn't know how to find the E2000 router....  I'm typing through the E2000 right now, and it works for Internet and such, but the Cisco Connect Software can't find the router......
    From what I have seen of the Cisco Connect software....  It is aimed toward the "Just out of the Box" user.... and aparantly once setup manually, Cisco Connect can't find the router!!
    I prefer the HTTP access anyway....  BUT, you can't change the Guest settings that way!!!   WHY???
    So, at present, I can't access Guest Settings via HTTP, and the Cisco Connect Software Can't find the router, probably because I already set it up via HTTP.......
    Why didn't Cisco Connect just ask me what the IP of the router was!!!   I don't want to re-invent the wheel, I've already got it going fine!!!   I just need to access a setting that I can't from HTTP, because some middle management bozo decided to lock it out of HTTP!!!!
    Now Isn't that a Feature!!!

  • Pantech Jest 2 Support  - link to manual doesnt work

    If you go to this page, there is a button to see the manual for the new Pantech Jest 2
    http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/index.html?p=5725&m=
    Clicking the button just goes to an error message.
    I would like to see the maual before I get a phone, since the stores don't have this phone and many stores do not have working models of feature phones. I cannot find the manual anywhere else. Please fix the link,

    Luckily, for the time being the company offering customer support for this phone has the manual on its website
    http://www.pcdphones.com/our-devices/products/156-txt8045vw
    http://www.pcdphones.com/downloads/1274-english-manual
    But I had the same experience as you -- the download link for the manual at Verizon's website didn't work for me, either.

  • Aperture user manual not working

    I am using Aperture 3.2.2 and I wonder where my user manual is.
    When I go to help, enter something and click on that link, the help window tells me that it is currently unavailable.
    Only those links are working, which refer to the Apple Support page or to pdf documents, but the original online help seems to be gone.
    Anything I can do to bring it back? Anyone else experiencing this?
    Thanks.

    As far as I remember there never was a german version of the Aperture version available in this dialogue, only an error message  - automatic message, poor grammar:
    But the manual is hidden inside the Aperture Application in the german localization folder; you can open it from the Terminal by typing:
      open /Applications/Aperture.app/Contents/Resources/German.lproj/aperture_help/index. html
    Since it is not very convenient to type this each time you want to access the manual, I'd suggest to open the Aperture Application package and to create an alias to this file or to define an Automator action that performs this command.
    Cheers

  • Javax.print.attribute.standard.MediaTray.MANUAL not working

    Hello,
    Requirement : Printer should prompt for manual paper feed while printing a pdf.
    Code snippet:
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
    SimpleDoc simpleDoc = new SimpleDoc(*new* FileInputStream(*new* File("c:\\old.pdf")),
    DocFlavor.INPUT_STREAM.+AUTOSENSE+,*null* );
    PrintService defaultPrintService = PrintServiceLookup.+lookupDefaultPrintService+();
    DocPrintJob docPrintJob = defaultPrintService.createPrintJob();
    {color:#ff0000}PrintRequestAttributeSet aset = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet(MediaTray.+MANUAL+);{color}
    docPrintJob.print(simpleDoc, aset);
    Problem: The print attribute {color:#ff0000}MediaTray.MANUAL{color} is ignored in the above snippet. But when the same attribute when used with jasper reports library, it works fine.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks in advance.

    You get out your printer manual and check if your printer will do this or not, if it does, then look up the codes that the printer requires to do that task. If it doesn't do it, then go buy a printer that does support it and look up the codes that the printer requires to do that task. Once you have the codes that are required to do that task, then check if there are any special signals (pin activations and etc) that need to be sent to enable that mode. If there are no special signals that are needed to enable that mode, then send the codes to the printer. If you need special signals, then your probably looking at a JNI module for your project to generate the special signals needed.

  • Mobile Accounts: Manual Sync works, Automated Sync Does Not

    I've got a small office network with about 10 users. Each have mobile accounts under Tiger (server and clients) and they've been working flawlessly for years.
    All of a sudden we've noticed that for some users the background sync is no longer working. If they choose "Sync Home Now" from the menu the sync runs else. Otherwise, it does not run at all.
    All background syncing is set (via WGM) to run every 30 minutes.
    What is the best way to debug this?
    Thanks!
    scotto

    if you configure mobile prefs to popup a dialog to confirm creating a mobile account on new machines, train them to choose "no," and they'll login with network homes on other machines.

    and its not an hardware error, its software error, crippy apple does not test their releases which causes problem to users.
    Updates:
    Earlier wifi connection which i was using on my Iphone 3gs, was WPA2, which was shared from my laptop via "Microsoft virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter", was working perfectly till ios6.1.2, but when i have upgraded my iphone 3gs to ios6.1.3, my iphone 3gs became unable to join wifi,
    Today I have created "adhoc network"  on my laptop using "Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n"(default wifi adapter of my laptop), and kept security type "WEP", and found my wifi working fine with my iphone 3gs,
    So if someone using LAN internet on their laptop, they can share their LAN internet to use on their ios devices, via creating an 'adhoc network',
    How to create an 'Adhoc Network',
