Override new TV season sorting?

The other day I noticed that the TV Shows library has started to subdivide the list by season number. Must be a new feature of iTunes 7.6. Has anyone found a way to override this and return to how 7.5 looked? I tried hiding the Season column.
I don't mind the subdivision if it worked right, but it does not, at least not for shows added since the update. For example, all eps of "How I Met Your Mother," season 1, are tagged perfectly. Season #, ep #, show, album, track, year, genre---everything's accurate (I do this a lot). ITunes 7.6 subdivides the show so that the first ep is by itself and the last ep is by itself. I even tried clearing all the tags, deleting from the library, re-adding to the library, and retagging. Now I just wish I could turn the subdivision off.

On the episode that will not sort where it belongs, do this:
Get Info.
Remove the episode number from both the Track Number and the Episode Number boxes.
Click OK.
Get Info again.
Put the number back in the two boxes.
Click OK.
This almost always gets the show to sort where it belongs.

Why does my new iPod touch sort music by album artist, instead of song artist?

I recently go an iPod touch 4th Gen. My old iPod sorted music by song artist, but the new one sorts it by album artist. My problem is this: There is an album called Re:generation. It was a project in which 5 DJs each made 2 songs for the album. So I enter the info for each song, but my iPod sorts it by album artist, which is listed as "Re:generation". I wanted the songs to be sorted by the 5 artists that actually made the songs, so there would be 2 songs under 5 different artists. If I wanted to listen to the whole album, I could press the album tab, scroll down to "Re:generation" and play the whole album. This all worked fine on my old iPod, but now it doesn't.
My first solution was to change the album artist on each song to the artist that created that song. But then by iPod list 5 different albums, so I can't listen to the album as a whole if I wanted to. My next solution was to erase the album artist info for each song, but now none of the ten songs can be found under the artist tab. I have to go over to the album and pick which song I want to hear.
If you don't understand, here's an example. 2 of the songs on the Re:generation album are by Pretty Lights. I want to be able to select Pretty Lights under the artist tab, choose all songs, shuffle, and have those 2 songs play at some point. But I would also like to be able to got to the album tag, select Re:generation, and play all 10 songs in order. However, the new setup won't allow me to do this.
So I'm wondering if I can fix the problem by somehow editing the iPod's sort settings (if possible), or reverting back to the old system (if possible), and why Apple even changed the system in the first place. It seems pretty stupid to me, and I honestly see no reason to change what I thought was a perfect system.

Remote app and tv season sorting

The remote app as well as the native video app needs an overhaul when it comes to organizing the library. A specific issue I've noticed within the remote app is if you have a tv series with more than 9 seasons it will nit arrange them correctly. The order will be as follows:

4
Etc...
It basically arranges them alphabetically instead of numerically.
I have found no immediate fixes via tagging that have repaired this so I feel it is a bug within the app. Hopefully this bug will be noticed if there is a better channel for me to submit a bug please direct me I'm very new to all of this.

Actually, I rather like the new look. Getting rid of the bulky divider between the playlist list and the song list, along with moving the volume bar next to the transport buttons, give more space for the song and playlist lists. Also, the actual look matches that of Tiger's. Shiny plastic. Though, if I'm not mistaken, the bevels on the buttons look a bit thinnier now. However, the gradient and boxyness of it may take a bit of getting used to.

I bought the my little pony seaon pass on seasons 1 and 2 and they then did this multi season pass thing. Now it doesn't show as me owning these new seasons. I'm going to try and contact apple about this, but I am really dissipointed if I have to buy the same thing twice and for even more monney the second time.

New 8 Core sort of weirdness

So we just got a new 8 core Mac Pro for one of our animators and i am setting it up with software. The weird thing i just noticed is that the second drive we ordered is named, and this is straight out of the box, "NotQuiteMaxDisk".
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Can't override artist name when sorting by artist

iTunes has selected about half my library of Nine Inch Nails (hasn't been updated or shifted by me for years) and is displaying the artist name as "seasonsinthesky", which I've never heard of - but only when I'm browsing by artist (i.e. all data appears correct when browsing by Song).
All the "Get Info" data is correct, but it won't pick up "Nine Inch Nails" in search and doesn't display that half of the artist files under that artist name. I would love to fix this, but there appears to be nothing to actually manually correct, as the data and the filing system all seem correct!
This seems to have just happened with iTunes 11 and I've only just noticed it. It also doesn't appear to have happened with any other artists.
Any thoughts would be most appreciated!

Old dormant iTunes account keeps overriding new iTunes account. Need to tidy it up :)

My first post here.
Basically i had my first itunes account with alot of purchases on it. got a new email and set up a new account, so since then i use account 2, and havent even logged on to account 1 in a couple of years, since then i have upgraded and now have an ipad and iphone..
after updating to ios5 today whenever i try to update or purchase apps it comes up with my apple id for account no1.
Am i able to delete this account? if so how? and will the original purchases from account 1 still be authorised to play on account 2 or am i going to loose them??
I have tried to research this but not found much on this specific problem.
Any help would be much appreciated

You cannot and should not delete it.
All purchases made from the old account will always be tied to that account. You will always have to update teh apps from that account and you will have to authorize your computer for that account.
Why did you start a new account? Why not just change the e-mail address associated with the old account?

Why does it open all pages that I have in the tray when I try and open a new one? Sort of flustrating. I must have done something wrong because it did not do that in the past. Thanks for any help in correcting the problem. in English

I keep about 5 pages open at all times in the tray and when I open a new page all open with the new one on the top of the stack. My computer did not do that in the past. What did I do and how do I correct the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

CS4 synchronization overriding new files with old

I use FTP to connect to a remote site. I notice that occasionally a file on our server that has been left alone for some time will randomly be reverted to a previous version of that file. We think we have this narrowed down to a synchronization issue with dependent files. Another words, I open up File B which includes File A, and for some reason my local cache of the site does not grab the latest File A, but then replaces File A on the server with the older cached version when I save File B. Now, I would just assume do away with "opening dependent files" alltogether, but it seems like even if I tell CS4 to NOT "get dependent files", it still opens them. I can not find any option to NOT open dependent files. So onward to Troubleshooting:

1. Choose Site > Manage Sites, select the site you want to edit, and click Edit.
2. On the Advanced tab of the Site Definition dialog box, choose Remote Info and "Maintain synchronization information".
Uh oh... there is no Advanced tab on the Site Definition dialog box. In fact, Editting sites doesn't even pull up the Site Definition dialog box, but rather the Configure Server box. I double-checked, yes, this article claims it's for Dreamweaver CS4, which I am following along in.

1. Click the Options menu in the upper-right corner, and then select Edit > Select Newer Local or Edit > Select Newer Remote.
Uh oh again. Rolling over edit, I do not have either of those options. I only have "cut", "copy", "paste", etc.
Playing with the Preferences > Site tab, I can play with several options that sound related to my issue, but none of my preference changes are saved the next time I open Dreamweaver. What is going on with this program???

I notice that in "Manage Sites", if I choose a new "Site", then I get all the nice friendly Advanced options (including whether or not to cache) that the first article described. However, if I choose "FTP or RDS Server" (which all of my connections are), then I do not. What I do get instead is a nice friendly pop-up informing me that "Server connections allow you to work directly on the server..." etc etc. Why then if we're working "directly on the server" are we still getting issues with multiple instances of a single file existing? One of the most common annoyances I'm running into is that I can open a file (which of course also opens dependent files), and then immediately go to save that file and receive a warning that the copy of one of the dependent files on the server has changed since my last 'get' operation, and that saving may blah blah blah. Nevermind I JUST opened the file, directly after opening DW and Refreshing my FTP connection (and no one else is working on the site). We've also seen where files and folders with a same name but different case will appear in the structure, which REALLY gives us some buggy grief. If I have the file "css/mystyle1.css" on the server, but I open a file that links to "CSS/myStyle1.ss", it'll create that folder and file parallel to the actual folder and file, and any subsequent changes to the REAL file cannot be saved due to "a file already exists with that name" issue. The obvious fix is to go through all my files and make sure my case structure is universal, but this bugginess is just absolute madness, and the synchronization thing today cost us some MAJOR changes to a file that has not been touched in over a week.

View Only New Replies When Sorting Comments

I was wondering if there was a way to view only the newest replies, edits, and comments when having a dialogue between coworkers. There is the whole, "When you hide or sort comments, any replies are hidden or sorted with the original comment" dialogue box ... is there a way to turn this function off? The shared review tracker doesn't necessarily fit our needs. Essentially, I would really like to sort by the author of the reply and not by the author of the original comment.

This issue can be caused by an extension (McAfee SiteAdvisor) that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

New email settings sort of work in iMac Mail

I got the "update your settings" email and dutifully made the changes in the Preferences of Mail. Incoming test message worked fine. Outgoing test message hung for a while, then demanded my password (which it should already have had, but I'm guessing timing issues made it forget that), and eventually passed the message. I REALLY hope this behavior was an aberration because taking four minutes to send one small plain text message seems ridiculous.
It would be lovely if Verizon instructions covered non Windows boxes, but fortunately I've played with my Preferences before so it wasn't a totally foreign thing.

Can you provide a screenshot of your settings? (Obscuring any personal info, of course.) Can you provide the error message you are getting?
Many people have gotten the new settings to work on Mac platforms, but without seeing your settings it is going to be very hard to figure out where the problem is.

Old email address overriding new one

I can't log in with my new Apple ID and password as it keeps defaulting to the old one.

Settings > iTunes & App Store > Sign out.
Sign in with the correct credentials.

New TV Seasons being listed under Old TV Season coverart

Well I just got a season pass for Lost Season 3 but when the episode finishes downloading it gets listed under Season 2's cover art. Is there a way to seperate them, so Season 3 episodes can be listed under Season 3 coverart in the CoverFlow and Album view modes in iTunes?

I Have the same problem, I love battlestar galactica, and all of my episodes have the appropriate "album artwork" and are all in Info under the correct season. yet for some reason , when i want to view them in the Cover Flow view they all show up under the earliest season's artwork, I wish i could change this. I wish I could change this or an Apple Rep would give us the official lowdown some time soon!
