Overview/content tab and starting a discussion
On overview tab, the "Start a discussion" is on the right frame. When you are on the content tab, it's on the left.
Rather disturbing... and not really user friendly.

When on overview tab, drag the mouse over a discussion, you'll get a "reply" link.
Click on it, then you get a button named "Comment".
Going to content tab, click on a dicussion you want to go to, reply to one of the posts, you'll get a button named "Add Reply".
Not sure to understand why there's no consistency.

Before 4.0 I could right click on an open tab and start a new tab. Now the option to do so is no longer on the right click menu, and I have to click the plus sign if I want to open a new tab. It is kind of bugging the hell out of me. Is there a way to fix it other than uninstalling and reinstalling the old firefox? Because this is a big part of the way I browse.
You can also use ctrl-T or File > New tab (if you have the menubar showing). I can't find an extension that will help you bring back the previous behavior but there probably will be one soon.

Firefox 9.01; Windows 7 64 bit;
One of my set of home pages is the basic Google search page. When I open this, I can immediately start typing and the words appear in the Google search box.
If however I open a new tab (white cross far right of tab bar) and start typing, the words appear in the address bar, not in the Google search box. Of course once I click in the search box I can carry on: but I'd like to make it start there as it does with the homepage.If you want a specific webpage (like the Google page) to always open when you open a New Tab, you can use the following add-on to Open New Tabs with your Favorite Pages:

When I close FF the window that is active becomes window #1 when I restart. No matter which one becomes window #2 the first pinned tab is missing and the "+" is on the far left. Same occurs if the tabs are not pinned. If I close FF and cause a switch between W#1 and W#2, W#2 loses that 1st tab and in W#1 the missing tab reappears.
hello ppsffvt, it sounds like an extension might be interfering here. please try launching firefox in safe mode once and see if the issue is occurring there too.

walked through two additional reinstalls of Snow Leopard (preserving my programs) following AppleCare's directions. All of that was BEFORE I posted my question, I also have the appropriate Disk Warrior for 10.6. I still cannot do the discussion justice, but I plan to get back to it as soon as I can and to give sufficient background information so that the generous people who respond will not be frustrated.
Thank you very much, and I will correspond pretty in a couple of weeks. Right now, I have urgent work and family issues monopolizing my time.

I upgraded my Mac Pro from Leopard to Snow Leopard, and have a raft of new problems. Disk Utility will not load.

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
Do the following:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/.

Same problem after applying 10.6.8 Supplemental Update. Disk Utility won't run (gives similar error message). And I can't boot into Bootcamp any more, though I can access that partition fine through VMWare Fusion 3.1.
Going to try the HD Repair step tonight.

This file's missing: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/QuickLookUI.framework/Versions/A/QuickLookUI
Follow Kappy's advice and reinstall.

When I unpacked the computer, the hard drive did not include OS X either. Actually, it was completely blank. Did not even have a partition table! I have also had random problems with the machine not charging.

I have bought an HP laptop and setup Ubuntu on it. Hope it turns out better than my previous four various Mac models. All have had various repeating hardware issues that Apple Certified technicians have been unable or unwilling to correct. -
It can be on any site or multiple sites. I usually have multiple tabs & windows open. I have checked the version and It tells me that it is up to date. I have removed all add-ons and reset it. What else can I do?

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

It sounds like Wifi syncing may be enabled in iTunes. The article iOS: Syncing with iTunes found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1386 outlines how to enable Wifi syncing but rather than checking the box that enables it, you would uncheck it.
Wi-Fi syncing
Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable. Select your device under Devices on the left-hand side.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi".
Whenever the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when all of the following are true:
The iOS device is plugged in to power
iTunes is open on the computer
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network
While the iOS device appears in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
If the iOS device does not appear in the Devices section or you are unable to sync, please see this article for troubleshooting.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

Minefield just would not open pages, whatever I tries to type in the addressbar the URL just stayed there and nothing happened. When I go into option menu, then click on the content tab, nothing happens; regardless of the duration of the waiting period, as when you click it and wait, you might as well walk away, because it will not load even if you wait an hour; THE OTHER TABS LOAD (THOUGH SLOWER THAN PREVIOUS VERSION) and function as far as I can determine. There is not the Firefox "One button for everything" at the top left like in the tutorial for this 4th gen. update either, and in general it's functioning rather sluggishly; I think I will be uninstalling the new version tomorrow as soon as I can.

I regularly need to open the same website in two tabs, to be able to view changes made between opening the first and second tabs. In Firefox 3.x I could press Ctrl+T and start typing the website title or URL, which would be auto-completed by Firefox. This enabled me to quickly open the same website in a second tab. Firefox 4 does not do this, instead it wants me to switch to the existing tab. This is not what I need.
Of course it is possible to open the same website in a second tab via e.g. a bookmark, but this takes more time and effort. It would be great if I could select Firefox's behavior in this situation.To create a duplicate of an existing tab in Firefox 4, do one of the following:

Not able to see material and operation overview as tab in production order

While creating the production order by T.C CO01, after giving the material code , production plant and order type, system took me inside it.There i am not able to see component overview, operation overview as tab.Whereas in menu option Goto - overview - component , i can see there.But i want this things as tab in screen where we give qty and dates.
So guys do you know where to do configuration for it.

In Production Order you will find Component and Operation screen under two different icons (not tab) production Header screen.
- For Component Overview it is something like Balance or on pressing F6 you will branch to Component overview Screen.You will find it just after Hat icon
- And for Operation over view it looks like ladder or on pressing F5 you will branch directly to operation screen.you will find this icon just after Component overview Icon.
