Overview of EP documentation

Hi experts,
I am an XI specialist (so know already Netweaver) and I have been asked to work a bit on an enterprise portal architecture. I can't find a good documentation with EP's "big picture". Can someone help ?

the questions themselves are requested not to be disclosed [as per the testing agreements]
I would however recommend that you study from the official course material, as most questions (and their answers) are specified within.
a google search could lead you to a few questions which are posted on a website.
SAP is aware of those, and those questions have been flagged rendering them useless, but you will get to know the level of difficulty by reading those.
Also it becomes an ethical issue which directly affects the livelyhood of many consultants, so i hope you dont mind that few will be at liberty to give you the explicit questions you seek

Overview of (relation between) products wanted....

Hi,
I have BI beans installed, with the global-schema (example for Analytic Workspace Manager).
I think that's a starschema (built with warehouse builder, based on the global computing compay gccrep) but I'm not sure.
Can anyone explain the relation between transactional data, data in starschema's, workspaces of analytic workspace manager, oracle data mining, a datamart in warehouse builder and an EUL of Discoverer Administrator? Or have a suggestion where to find an overview within existing documentation?
And how can I build data from transactional data without using warehouse builder, (more specific: the global schema based on source-date) to be used with BI beans?

My suggestion is that You can assign the batch when you release the process order for Semi Finished Good & Finished Goods
Prerequisites
You can only create batches and batch master records for a material if the material is to be handled in batches. To do this, you must set the Batch management indicator in the material master record.
The system creates a batch master record in the background in the following procedures:
The first time goods are received for a batch
During creation of a process or production order
When a usage decision is made in quality management
During a recurring inspection
For transfer postings (when you want to split a batch, for example)
When creating a purchase order
And then, how would it be possible to trace them back in purpose of to precisely find which batches were put in each batch of product?
Yes With Tcode MB56 - This component determines how a batch is created and used in Production Planning PP through various stages of production and displays the result in a list.
You can use this to find out:
In which other batches a batch was used
From which other batches a batch was created
Prerequisites
Batch management requirement
All materials that are part of the batch where-used list must be subject to management in batches.
Batch where-used file
You can only create a batch where-used list if the receipt records and issue records are stored in the batch where-used file.
You will find further information in the section Make settings for batch where-used list in Customizing for Batch Management.

Hi,
Based on your country legislation you have to follow the instruction of application setup rules. Once you complete the setup you can apply required patches if any comes after the version you have installed. Best to check at Metalink for latest patches.
To meet local legislation you have to keep up-to-date your application always.

[SLD] Autoregistration of ABAP System in SLD

Hi,
want to registrate an ABAP system in SLD.
RZ70 create errors, because RFC destination is missing.
Trying to create a destination type T to the SLD sytstem. I'm
using same parameter as define in another system that is
also connect to SLD, but he doesn't recognize the gateway service.
Without gateway information he says that the programm is not
registered yet.
Where to register the programm? In ABAP system or XI?

Need help with Business One Certification

Hello,
I need help preparing for the B1 certification. I have taken the test once already and failed. I found it very tricky with multiple correct answers for each question.
I have gone thru the eLearning several times now. And this week I am taking the instructor led training. I have also purchased and studied the Ebook. I have a good grasp of the product, but I feel that this is not enough to help prepare for the test.
I want to know if there are any other resources I could use to help prepare for the test. Are there any practice exams

when I was studying for the 2007 certfication I found the info in the DRC & the ETSs very good.
Channel Partner Portal -> Solutions -> SAP Business One -> Solution Overview -> Additional Resources -> Documentation Resource Centre
There was also a lot of info on the Landing pages:

I have two main questions.
First:
What are the limitations of the trial version against the commercial version?
Specifically It is written:
SAP NetWeaver Application Server, Java EE 5 Edition
SAP Composition Tools
SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (with Java EE support), based on Eclipse Callisto
MaxDB 7.6 database
Web Dynpro
Which are the composition tools? and
Is the Service registry and repository for service management missing?

to start with, the links provided by Abhijith represent a nice overview of the documentation delivered with <b>the older version (SAP NetWeaver 7.0)</b>, and are of no help regarding the SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1.

The main differences are that the trial has limited license (30-day, which can be extended to 90-days). It's only a developer installation (i.e. compared to productive install options in the commercial one)

The Services Registry <b>is part of the trial version</b>. The Enterprise Services Repository is not part of it, neither in the commercial release of SAP NW CE 7.1, SP01.

A good number of getting started tutorials and sample code is available if you browse the Welcome page of your developer studio. You can open it by selecting Help -> Welcome from the main menu of the developer studio.
In the Tutorials tag page, you can find getting started tutorials for different technologies included in the composition environment. In the Samples tab page, you can click on the links to import the sample apps code right to your Developer Studio workspace and play around with them.
In addition, if you'd like to get an overview of what a composite application is, I'd recommend reading <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/beddad24a252f5e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm">the following section</a> in the Developer's Guide.

Need suggetions on Central SLD as Solution Manager!

Hi Experts,
I need a help/ suggestion on deciding the Central SLD system in our landscape. We are using Solution Manager 7.01 as the Central SLD for the new Installations and including the old Systems too. But We came to know that SAP is not recommending using Solution Manager as Central SLD System. So please tell me, is it recommended or not and what problems may occur in future if we continue Solution Manager as Central SLD.

In the source tarball for 2.4.*, take a look at "dbxml/examples/php".
Also, while you're there, take a look at "dbxml/docs/index.html" to get an overview of the documentation that is available. Particularly, consider reading the "Introductory Guide". That should definitely help you.

SCN 5.0/2007 - any GERMAN documentations/overviews available?

Are there any GERMAN documentation/overviews available? http://service.sap.com/scm has only English information and powerpoints, unfortunately the people in the implementation project don´t understand them bar the fact, that English and "SAP-english terminology" are also a different languages...
All I see translated is help.sap.com - however, this does not help in getting an overview about the possibilities of SCM...

Where is the conceptual overview / UML / Documentation?

I am trying to audit the OSMF framework for adoption at work. However, it is difficult to get a handle on the scope of this project. I have no idea what your packages are metaphors for (speaking of, why do the asdocs include the entire AS3 codebase?) or the patterns and concepts you based the code on. Heck, I can't even tell what exactly this framework does! The only insight I have into the thinking behind this project is by reading bits from the devs on these forums. Believe me, I know how hard it is to provide documentation for the product while trying to support an ongoing development process. I just hope you guys pause the coding and spend a couple weeks really documenting this project. :-)
Are there any posts or anything that will give me a head start on this information? I found a couple random blog entries that had some info on Strobe, but they were not very thorough.

If you'd rather see running code, the most succinct app for seeing what OSMF can do is the ExamplePlayer (source is here).
