Overview Unused data

Hi!
We have a feeling that our customer has data in BI that is not used at all. Is there a way to find out if there are queries/Multiproviders/Cubes which are not used for a period of time?

Based on BI statistics you can get an idea of Query usage etc.
On the basis on this you can analyze the used infoproviders.

Just a general question directed toward Verizon.
Why isn't my unused data carried over from month to month?
To begin with, if I purchase "X" Gig. of data, and decide that I might need more, at the $10.00/Gig rate, rather
than take a chance of doing an overage, which priced at $15.00 per Gig, but do not use all of the data that I have
purchased, why can it not be carried forward on my account, to be used the next month. I have paid for it!

I can tell people to take what is the best deal for them. If they feel that their interests are better served elsewhere, why would they stay if their needs cannot be met at present? It's not to say the change is forever as customers can come and go as they wish. Sometimes customers leave because they are mad about changes, or they don't understand some aspect of their service, other times it really is a lack of service, be it customer service or network service. A lot of the times customers come back. A Verizon rep might say that this is simply not a feature of any plan that is offered right now and that they do not have information on such a feature as it pertains to future feature inclusion. A lot of us here are objective in that we try to see where the customer might be misunderstood and where Verizon's terms and plans might be better explained. Sometimes it's not the big corporation's fault for what customers mis-perceive as it relates to opinion or fact, and sometimes it is the company's shortcomings that might have lead to a bad customer experience. Usually though, it is a lack of understanding, be it equipment or service, rate changes or plan details. We are here to inform and help. Customers decide what to do with that input.

Removing unused data sources in Web Analysis

I created report with charts and spreadsheets and it created its associated data source object in Web Analysis.
But the cube associated with data sources is renamed by my admin. so old data sources are corrupted.
How do I remove those old data source objects in WA?
I am able to create new data sources to same report and use it, but when i open report every time, it asks me to log in to validate old data sources.
Any suggestion is appreciated. i have goggled for this information i am out of luck. i would have export and import report if i was aware of changes to my cube.

-> Open the Report, switch to designer mode
-> Double click on the report.
-> Select the desired datasource
-> Hit the Delete key on your keyboard
It would ask, if it is safe to remove
-> Click ok

What happens to unused data?

I got my Galaxy Nexus last May, 2012. I went for the $50 device with new Verizon service sign-up. I liked the phone and the price, but I wanted to activate "tethering" to a notebook computer which I was using before starting Verizon service. If you don't have wi-fi hotspot, maybe it's because you have to order it after initiating service. I looked for the "tethering" feature when I signed-up, but didn't find it. Nevermind, I thought, I will get it later. When I ordered wi-fi hotspot later, I was sold a 3gb plan, in addition to my original 4gb plan, for total 7gb data, and for an extra $30/month cost. Okay, I was curious if I would use that much data. Last month I pushed my wireless use but just went over 4gb. I decided I don't really need 7gb data, and maybe I don't need wi-fi hotspot. I happen to have the Verizon mobile app, and looking at my data usage, I noticed a 4gb data plan with hotspot for $50. That's less than what I am paying for 7gb and I went for it. The app allows users to purchase available Verizon service features like the 4gb plan, which I did. The order got screwed-up, and I had to telephone customer service. I think I now have what I want. My issue with Verizon is it is not easy to find the best plan for my money. Why would any user purchase more data than needed? If it's true "unlimited" was canceled because hackers were re-selling excess wi-fi data, it is probably because some users were motivated by that reason. It does make one think.

It is also possible what you "think" you are paying for is not what Verizon is selling.
Think of it as a gym membership. You pay a monthly fee in order to use everything in that gym whether or not you actually even go 1 single time, every day or whether you only use 1 piece of equipment or 10 pieces of equipment. You don't pay for a month's membership and get to go UNTIL you have used every piece of equipment, your use of the gym expires at the end of the month whether or not you have used it at all or every day UNLESS you pay for another month. You don't get to use the gym any more next month because you did not make full use of it the previous month, you get to use it the exact same as your membership level indicates UNLESS you pay for a higher level of service.
THIS is how Verizon thinks of its service. You pay a monthly fee to have access to a set amount of data/minutes/texts. Whether or not you use that amount is up to you. If you don't use it that much, you should rethink the allowances you have set for yourself. You can change them at any time.
You can use ANY of it or you can use ALL of it, it is completely up to you. You can even incur additional fees if you go over your set usage, just like a gym where you can incur additional fees by utilizing services which are not included in your monthly membership payment.
And you are right, I can't blame a guy for hoping.

Selecting unused dates for list

Ok, last one for today..
I'm trying to populate a select list with Month-Year values between the first entry in the table and the previous month(sysdate - 1 month).
At the moment I have this, which will select all months between the last entry in the table and sysdate-1.

Overview for data in GP

we have to build a very complex Workflow with a lot of Data. One of the feature that we must implement is, that everyone inside the process can see, which data is filled in. Do you know a simple way to do that? Can I access to the stored Data via Visual Composer to show them?
The best solution is, that everyone can jump to the steps before and can see there, what data were insert. Do you know what I mean?

Into an action you can attach two Callable Objects types: One for execution and another for Display.
Display will provide what you want. Don't forget that u'll need both CO.

PLEASE HELP!! Getting charged for bogus unused data

someone please tell me why that every morning when i leave for work, the instant i walk out my door onto data off mY WiFi i get hit with ungodly data usage?? i mean for example one morning was 80% of a GIG used. now i remind u that i am sleeping all night and on wifi so how does this happen? also exactly 6 hours later i get hit with another chunk of data usage..
This happens every day i leave the house for work 530am and exactly 6 hours later at 1130.. of course customer service over the phone cant help even tho they agree it doesnt look right and at the store they dont know..
I had the phone reset to factory settings and now again a few days later its starting again.. someone, anyone if you know whats up please help!!

In your settings turn off update over cellular and chane it to update only on wifi. Additionally turn off automatic updates to your phone apps, they update on cellular unless you also change the settings to update over wifi only.
when at home and on your home wifi, turn off cellular data, and turn off cellular data roaming this should force the device to not use cellular data.
You need only turn on "cellular data" after you leave from home.
Now since verizon went to metered or tiered data use they have been raking in the cash in overage fees. I would not trust their accounting methods. I firmly believe this is a scam on the customers. Read the threads on this forum where people who never used more than 1GB or 2GB are now seeing huge data overages. It is very questionable in my opinion.

does anyone know some good links that explain what is going on with Date and Calendar etc..
It seems quite complicated - is there any docs on the general idea/framework? (and why things have been deprecated etc..)
I don't know anything about different world calendars, but theres lot on the web, so its more the java specifics I'm interested in!

Don't use Date at all, use Calendar instead (unless you need to use dates in databases). What parts of the Calendar docs aren't clear? The general idea is each instance of Calendar represents a point in time, with methods to change and retrieve various datetime fields.

Excessive unused data usage

Hi all, recently started a 100gb home broadband bundle. Last month seemed alright, however this month I've been informed that ive used 132gb in 5 days. Now I understand that using Netflix does use a lot of data. However, we realised how much it used in the first day and stopped using it straight away. There is no way I could have used this much data in 5 days. Even if I watched Netflix all day for 5 days I would not have used this much data. Any suggestions?

Netflix can use a hell of a lot of data,
according to Netflix:
1GB per hour for SD, up to 3GB per hour for HD and 7GB per hour for Ultra HD
at UHD, that is <20 hours play time... without any other usage...
That being said, there has been a couple of reported issues lately however with usage, particularly on NBN, so it might be worth a chat with the Tech Support team to find out if they can sort it out for you.

How to trigger alert Column store unload for reason :unused resource

Good day,
I have an issue with the column store unload.
As for this alert in hana studio, there are 3 reasons for the alert. Reason: Low memory, Explicit, Unused resource.
First one is lack of memory, so the column table is unloaded. Second is because someone unloads a column table by SQL. These two reason we can see easily and they are usually main reasons for this alert. However, i can't trigger the last one.
Is there any good method to trigger it?
I attached some screens files of the workaround.
Any help will be appreciated.

not too sure if the idea for KBAs has changed but in my understanding they were never meant to replace documentation or to provide complete topic overviews.
Given the nature of this alert, it would be weird to
a) get an alert at all for this
b) have someone reacting to it.
The function to unload containers after they haven't been used in a long time is part of the garbage collection in SAP HANA. Why would it be necessary to have an alert for that?
And then what should anyone do about it? What do DBAs usually do, when long unused data gets displaced to disk?

Concerning my remark about SCN usage of SAP employees: I meant that there are plenty of SAP internal forums and communities available where you can probably get less exposure to the rest of the world and might get answers that provide you with more detailed information than what is possible in SCN.
As English is the corporate language and used in SCN as in the internal forums I don't see how that is an obstacle for using the internal forums.
About your unanswered questions: just like any other forum, SCN is based on voluntary contributions. There should be no expectation about how long it takes to get answers.
Nobody is paid to answer the questions here, so it's all on a community basis.

Data will be retrieved from following table :
tables: lfa1, lfb1, bsik, bsid, kna1, t001,t005, SKAT, SKB1.
In BSIK you have both LIFNR and HKONT. You will get the data based on the LIFNR and HKONT. LIFNR is Vendor and HKONT is GL assigned to the vendor.

Enhance component ICCMP_BT_INR in BSP_WD_CMPWB if it's not been done yet.
Enhance view InrHeaderViewSet if it's not been done yet.
In view controller implementation class for this view (in my case it was ZL_ICCMP_BT_INRHEADERVIEW_IMPL) redefine GET_TAB_LINK_TABLE method in the following way:
METHOD get_tab_link_table.
CONSTANTS: c_orgdata TYPE string VALUE 'InrOrgData.BTORGSET/OrgSet',
            c_partner TYPE string VALUE 'InrPartnerId.MainWindow'.
CALL METHOD super->get_tab_link_table
   RECEIVING
     rt_result = rt_result.
* hide org. data tab
DELETE rt_result WHERE id CP c_orgdata.
* hide partners tab
DELETE rt_result WHERE id CP c_partner.
ENDMETHOD.
Other way is:
Enhance component ICCMP_BT_INR in BSP_WD_CMPWB if it's not been done yet.
Go to Runtime Repository Editor there.
Delete InrPartnerId.MainWindow and InrOrgData.BTORGSET/OrgSet views from the viewarea Header of the ICCMP_BT_INR/InrHeaderViewSet.
But personally I've preffered first one. Just to remember what was actually there in standard.

Upgrading and transferring data to a new macbook pro, given my old mac is running on Lion.

I am currently using a late 2006 black macbook running OS Lion. I have recently bought a new retina macbook pro to upgrade to which will presumably be running OS Mountain Lion. I understand there are several ways to transfer data across to new macs and so I have some questions:
- What will be the best way to transfer my data across, given I regularly back up onto an external hard drive using Time Machine? I have doubts about the best way to do this as I don't want to load a bunch of junk across. Aren't there directories and cached data stored on the computer from used applications? Given I've had this for many years, I have downloaded, installed, and deleted many applications, so don't want a load of unused data clogging up my new mac. My main things to transfer are photos, music and regularly used applications such as Office (I was also wondering if I need to reinstall Office...or will it work after the transfer?)
- And do I need to upgrade to Mountain Lion first on the current Macbook?

It is best to reinstall non Apple applications later. You should be able to install a new OS at anytime you choose without any affect in your data. With that said, always have a backup.
