If I put in my phone model, Ovi says Opera is available for the C6. Opera's site doesn't list the phone, and Opera usually has a browser for everything. So who's right? I don't like to use OVI as I don't want the item billed to my carrier. It's too open to abuse. And I can't see using a credit card for a 99 cent download. W

All opera for mobile phone devices are not tested with each and every phone. Opera's official website lists only those devices which are tested. But as nokia runs under symbian os, it should work. Go to m.opera.com from the browser you're using, preferably nokia's webkit browser and download the desired device. I'm saying this because, ovi store takes time to update contents and opera updates its browsers very frequently. I suggest to check for updates constantly. If your device is not listed you may contact opera regarding the issue. However the browser will definitely work on your phone.

Ovi App Reviews-Non English

Hi all,
Ovi App store is improving day by day...I would like to draw your attention to a small bug there. When I go to review page for any App, it shows reviews in all languages instead of English (When I browse it from UK). And some even write their names or totally rubbish words in their reviews. Is there any way to display reviews based on location? i.e Amazon UK only has reviews in English. Or possible to restrict it to English? as reviews in other languages are not useful to UK users and vice versa.

How to Download OVI apps on computer?

How to download Ovi apps to computer and then transfer it to my phone?
I dont have data plan and I dont get wifi at my work. I need to download apps on my phone?
Please help me.

My first experience with the OVI store: a few days ago.
Result? Shocked that the only option was to download to phone.
It's as if Nokia think we all have cheap data plans and internet on phones is as common as water.
On top of that they ignore decades worth of PC networks. The personal computer is the centre of the digital universe, Nokia. Not some esoteric device nobody has or finds useful. There should absolutely be an option to download to PC. It's so obvious!
The only reasons I can think for Nokia to insist on phone-only downloads is:
1) tracking you more effectively by identifying your phone and other personal data
2) reducing support costs on their staff (no more "how do I put this on my phone?" questions from those downloading to computer first)
It is truly bizarre the computer was ignored and not placed at the centre of their digital universe, but somehow this doesn't surprise me coming from Nokia.
If there is an easy way of extracting the setup file from already-installed applications, giving more details to those users stuck with this extremely restrictive problem would be very helpful.

Ovi app wizard apps on n97 mini

i cant get any of the new ovi app wizard apps to load on my n97 mini? the app opens but the feed doesnt load, does anyone have any idea how i can sort this? thanx in advance.

At last i found out that it is because you have update your ovi suite and the setting within will change.
Be sure you have check you map store location are on the correct place as if you have memory card installed.
First :- On your ovi suite, go to TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> MAPS.
On your right hand side you will see "SELECT THE DEVICE MEMORY USED FOR SAVING MAPS DATA".
Below it have a drop box. Make sure the drop box is not empty (it will be if you did not connect your phone.)
If you have connect your phone then the memory location should be MASS MEMORY (E
once this set, click ok then back to maps.
if it does not refresh. unplug your phone and plug it in again.
If this still not help then go to your phone delete CITIES folder and QF files. ( you will need to re-donwload the MAPS and voice guidance).
After delete it, you will need to acess the MAPS program on your phone to regenerate that folders and file you have delete.
also remember to check the setting on your phone is same as your computer, MAPS storage location are same MASS MEMORY (E.

Ovi apps store - how to install apps on e:

to save space on c:/ (nokia 5800 express music), i wanna ask for a possibility so that an app sent to the cell from ovi store as link by sms, isn't been installed on c:/.
is there a possibility that it's getting installed on e:/ to save space?

You cannot install the store app on E it will only install on the phone memory, I don't have it installed as I can't afford the loss of space, so go to Ovi store via web browser and reject offers to install app, can still download apps !

Ovi app re-download help!

Hi I recently purchased Labyrinth Touch from the Ovi Store. When i tried to download and install it, there was a connection issue and now it wants me to purchase again. Please can someone from Nokia help me by sending a link to download the app again or something like that, I have been trying for weeks to get some help from Nokia, I emailed Nokia twice, searched the internet and the Nokia support forums. I also have downloaded some of their free games and aplication. But, due to failure of my memory card, I'd reformat it. Then, all of those form ovi aren't available for 2nd time download. I figure out that this is because of their "rules & regulation" terms. It's because, they don't want us to re-distribute the application or games download from them. There's good and bad about their terms. I hope that Ovi can come-up with some solution to this problem.

Social network ovi apps?

Downloaded Nimbuzz and Facebook chat from the ovi.store. When checking the apps in the galery there is a gold key pictured next to both aps. Does anyone know what this means. Aps can be used but not moved as well as no messages are let though. Anyone know how I can delete these keys? THANKS

You can use Ovi store through your phones browser, just press exit if it tries to make you go to the app, and it will go back to the web version, you can then download any apps you want

Preloaded ovi app on 2730c shows as conflicting ap...

i updated my ovi store app on my nokia 2730c to 1.70 but after the update the app fails to open and shows the error message 'conflicting application. Show item'. If i click yes my phone hangs. PLEASE SUGGEST A WAY TO REINSTALL THE APP OR DELETE IT.

Redownloading ovi apps...

Finally reinstalled all app manager apps, now time for ovi. I signed in and it has 'buy' and 'downloaded', no option to redownload. If i click buy, it now says Ovi only accepts credit cards with a US billing address.
Any idea how i'm meant to download angry birds and stellarium again?

you can download stellarium for free from the testing area.
about the angry birds - i think youll have to request a download lnk. itll take few weeks..i think... but when you got the donload link, save the .install file. then you dont have to go for ovi store to re-download apps that youve bought...

You can use the iOS version of Pages on the current iPod touch. You can't use the Mac version of it on an iOS device.

OVI app crash

I did an on-line search for troubleshooting ovi and these forums are all I got so here you go...
I am running Windows XP Pro-64bit edition with SP2 on an AMD 2x2.1Ghz with 3 Gig of RAM. The issue I'm having is that OVI 2.0 fails to fully launch. I opened it up in the debugger added a ton of watches and the fail happens when OVI is requesting a paltry 24meg through malloc() while I still have 2+ gig available for use on the heap. I know how this works, one issue feeds another, but that is where the actual crash is occuring and I am at a loss. I just installed OVI for the first time and have not been impressed. Any help is always appreciated. I would love for someone to change my mind.

Short of uninstalling and re-installing, I don't know what to suggest. Make sure you download the latest version. I had problems with the first Ovi Suite V2 I downloaded.
I checked the system requirements, and there ought to be no problems with 64 bit Windows XP . The full requirements are here:-
