Ovi Calendar CSV import bug

Hi
I've got problems importing a .csv file to the calendar. I have a calendar exported from Outlook with ~200 entries. I can import them with ease, no errors here. However when I look at the imported entries, they all show up on the same day. All 200 of them. And the time on them is the same as the time I tried to import them.
I also tried with some less entries with same results.
Anyone know a solution?

Seems like I have to live in US to use it - it was date format that caused this issue.
Fixing it was easy. Change your location information from Windows Control panel to English (US), export your calendar from outlook - and change back your settings. Now import the csv to Ovi calendar. Oh btw, you might have to adjust the times also, it somehow imagined I live in GMT-time zone, so I had to adjust all my appointments by two hours.
Easy to use...

  • Bug in OVI calendar (web)

     Hello
I've found bug in OVI calendar (web).
When I change date of events (Edit all event occurrences), or name of events, the date of changed event is not a valid date
    Ex.
I have event: EXAMLE, 22-10-2009 (How often will it happen? - WEEKLY). Next, I changing date 21-10-2009 and... The date of events it is finally 23-10-2009.
BTW: In google calendar it is OK.

    Both bugs still exist.
When I create an all day event, initially it shows as a full day event for the correct day. When I check back later, the event is shown as full day for two days. Synced to the phone (N8) the events are displayed correctly.
I am also unable to edit e.g. birthdays that started in 1980's. I get a message saying I need to edit the first instance.

  • Bug: Ovi Calendar and pre-1975 events

I was quite puzzled to discover the hard way that OVI Calendar does not support events dated before 1/1/1975. Apparently not  all developers learned from the Y2K bug.
Why do I need events in the past, you may ask. Well, to store birthdays/years.I have stored birthdays of my contacts as yearly repeated events in Outlook, starting from the day of birth. That's handy to remember their age. I first synchronised them with my phone (Nokia 5800) and everything went right. When I synchronised them with OVI, all events scheduled before 1975 got moved to December 2010 or January 2011 (day of month was preserved, though).
This is a bug and users should be warned/informed.

If I set MD-Soft Birthdays to create memo events rather than anniversary events for my contacts' birthdays, one-time-only memos are created for the current and next year and at least they are not moved to december.
However, another strange behaviour/bug happens when syncing: the synced memo events appear in the online OVI calendar one day earlier, i.e. a memo scheduled in the device's calendar on 25 August (because that's the birthday date) will appear on OVI calendar on the 24 August. The memo is then not further synced with the calendar, i.e. if I delete the 25 Aug memo from the device's calendar, the corresponding (wrong) 24 Aug memo is not deleted from OVI and, vice versa, the 24 Aug memo is not synced back to device's calendar even if it appears in OVI.  Further, the wrong 24 Aug memo is then treated as an independent entry and synced back to the device.
That's annoying, because besides not working, now I have to remove all those wrong events! Luckily, Birthdays allows to search and remove all events starting with '[B]' (not only those it created itself), which also takes care of the wrong memos that got synced back. Otherwise, since OVI Calendar does not allow to search for strings shorter than 4 characters [DOH!], I would have needed to delete them manually!

  • Import calendar csv on Nokia C7

Is it possible to import a calendar csv file into Nokia Calendar? I sync my main work calendar on the Nokia with google but want to import this csv file containing calendar dates into a personal calendar on the nokia that should not sync.

I'm talking about on the icloud website. I don't own a MAC just an iphone (which syncs with my calendar). Is there an option for this on the icloud website or no?

  • Ovi Calendar server back end lost shared calendar ...

Setup a shared calendar between the Ovi web suite, and two devices, a C5 and an N8
Day 1 - Syncing fine between web and phones
Day 2 - Go into web page, now the calendar is shared with 0 others! Each phone also has a separate calendar. No configuration changes were made between days 1 and 2
It seems this to be a major bug in the Ovi Calendar suite? Is the Calendar service now deprecated and shutting down? The Calendar web page looks and feels like it's not being actively updated and supported

Thanks so much for your comment ~morgen.
Sorry, I should have mentioned, that it what my first thought so I tested by ensuring the email address associated with the user account (not hosted on the server but by Google Apps) is recieving all other mail.
    I have also tried:
    - Setting all accounts (calendar, email and contact card with associated email address) in another local user on a defferent Mac. So it's not a local user or Mail app issue.
    - Sending invites from different Calendar apps and email accounts - iCloud, Gmail (both using Apple Calendar and the web interface).
That's why I came back around to thinking it must be calendar server related. However is there is absolutly no conntact with the server with incoming email invites I must be looking in the wrong place (and the wrong forum - sorry!).
Does anyone have any ideas where I should be focusing my efforts?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • New OVI Calendar web application syncronization is...

    Hi @ll,
I don't know about you, but I can't sync calendar events back & forth since last week (when Ovi Calendar 1.6 went from beta to live).
No errors reported by the phone ovi sync app. It's just no calendar appointments being sent (contacts is working though).
    I've even master-resetted my X6.. no way.
Are you experiencing the same? As a long-time Nokia supporter, I MUST think this is not a general issue in such an essential feature.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Just for the record, I have the exact same issue on my phone. Syncing from server to phone fails without any error message. (Phone to server is ok.) At least good to see that it's a server issue and not a problem with my phone...
What is it with these seemingly trivial calendar bugs that service providers aren't able to fix??? I wanted to use Google calendar's web interface on my previous phone, but it has a bug which prevents users from setting up reminders of any kind (I was hoping to have e-mail reminders mailed to my phone). This bug, which basically renders the interface totally unusable, has been around for a long time now, but Google apparently doesn't want to fix it.
I seriously don't hope we have to wait that long for a fix from Nokia. Without proper calendar synchronization I basically don't have any good reason to continue to use the phone.

  • Ovi Calendar dates off

When I Sync my phone with Ovi, calendar items show one day ahead on the Ovi website. (Ex: An event on 2nd Apr is shown as 1st Apr, and an event on 1st Apr is shown as 30th Apr) It's very annoying. The events show perfectly on the phone. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
I have the same timezone and 12hr format both on PC and phone.
    5800XM + N70
    Nokia Forever!

I have same problem. I have identified it as following: Create a new "anniversary" entry on calendar on N97. Sync to OVI calendar online. Entry in OVI calendar is created as an "all-day-event" box ticked for the correct day but also wrongly has a "start time" of 01:00 (which is greyed out)!! This makes it roll-over onto the following day. Sync then sometimes seems to shufflye this "Anniversary" forward by one day. Is is all to do with the incorrect creation of the Calendar entry on OVI calendar when the item is first sync'ed. The solution it to either create an "all-day" entry on OVI calendar and THEN sync to phone OR untick and then tick the "all-day" check box which blanks the "at" time box for the event.

  • How do I "save" a calendar before importing it?

How do I "save" a calendar before importing it?

    Ghanpoh,
It really depends on what it is, exactly, that you wish to do. There are basically four ways to "save."
1.) As you note, Save, Save_As and Save_as_a_Copy are for saving the Project file ONLY. I posted an article here on the differences amongst the three and why one would choose one over the others.
2.) Archiver - this is accessed from the Toolbar and can "save" the Project with the media files in a couple of forms. This is used when a Project is complete, and one wishes to clear their HDD, but wants an "archived" copy of the Project with all media, in case they have to come back to it later.
3.) Export - this is used to send the edited media to an AV file for play, distribution, etc. It is limited in formats, but is the quickest way to, well "export" you edited file (or part of it, using the WAB [Work Area Bar] to an AV file. Export>Movie is probably the most common.
4.) Share - similar to Export, this is used when on is going to "export" the edited file to another medium, usually a "streaming" medium, like the Web, but also offers a myriad of other formats, like WMV (many flavors), or MOV (again, many flavors).
The choice will be based on what the editor needs and wishes.
Please tell us what you wish to do with your edited material, and someone can suggest the best method for you.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Nwrfc 0.0.5 with important bug fix!

I have just pushed version 0.0.5 of the new gem to rubygems.org (you can also access the latest repo at GitHub).
0.0.5 introduces an important bug fix in Table#each. Previously only the first row would continuously be returned. Now you can actually treat a Table like an Enumerable!

  • 30EA1: Determine column lengths before csv-Import

    Hello out there,
I tried to import a csv (actually semicolon separated and enclosed in double quotes) into a new table using SQL Developer.
I got error messages that some columns are to short (ORA-12899). Now the question is, is there an option having SQL Developer determine the maximum length of the data to propose a suitable column width?
Wenn I convert the csv to Excel an import that, I get similar errors but much later in the process. So Excel-import seems to look much farther ahead than csv-import.
What I need is SQL Developer scanning the whole file to determine the maximum length of data an not only the first row or the first few 1000 rows.
    Can this be achieved somehow?
    Regards,
    dhalek

    Hi Dhalek,
Not sure if your problem is that we are not calculating the size of the columns correctly, we are not generating the inserts correctly or if we are not reading the rows with the columns that are large during the preview phase which is where we profile the data and determine the size of the columns. Can you see the rows that are rejected in the preview? When the table is created, are the sizes of the columns correct? Is it possible that your csv file is having the same problem with the single quote as the excel file? Once we have read the data, the generation is handled in the same way for both so the inserts should look the same.
Sqldeveloper uses java batch insert for the Insert method which is different from standard insert and inserting via a script. The rules are slightly different so rejections may differ. Also, failures reject the entire batch not just the bad row. For now, to limit the number of rejected rows, you can set the preferences->database->advanced-Sql Array Fetch Size to 1 for the import. This will generate only bad rows in the bad file and should make it easier to pinpoint the problem. You'll want to restore that value because it also affects any fetches done by SQLDeveloper. I'll need to research our generation of the single quote in the data.
Also you may want to try setting the preferences->database->load->preview characters limit to a very high number if you think the problem is that we are not reading the rows with the large columns during the preview. This is the overalll limit of characters that will be read from the file during the preview.
You can also try the insert script method to load your data which will eliminate any java batch insert issues.
    Thanks,
    Joyce

  • I believe I found an import bug in LR 5.4

I believe I've uncovered an import bug in Lightroom 5.4 under Mavericks.  I noticed a folder with 19 photos and videos, but LR was only showing 18.  So I tried synchronizing the folder, and still only 18 were found.  So, in the import screen I unchecked "Don't import suspected duplicates", and it still would not import.  So, I removed the folder containing the photos from LR, then re-imported them, and still only 18 photos!
So, the .jpg file listed here will NOT import into LR regardless of my efforts.  The mp4 imports just fine.  It seems like a bug pertaining to files with the same name but different extensions, or something similar.  Here are the file names:
    bernie3_blue_baby_shopping_walmart-09-2.mp4 - IMPORTS OK
    bernie3_blue_baby_shopping_walmart-09-2.jpg   - WILL NOT IMPORT

I’m not sure it’s a bug but rather by design. For example if you do external editing from Lightroom in Photoshop the word Edit is automatically added to the tiff or PSD file with the same name. Simply change the file name for the jpeg and it will import. LR does permit jpeg and raw files with the same name but it requires enabling in the prefs. I assume there is no similar pref setting for videos, as they would always be numbered separately when importing directly from a camera card; so the situation would never usually arise.

  • Broken Feature: CSV Import does not set First, Las...

Hi, I recently signed up our 40+ employee company for Skype for business. The setup process has been terribly onerous and this seems to be the only place to provide feedback. I plan to post several individual items to describe some frustrations.
To configure out 40+ users I elected to use the CSV import feature. This requires: First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Skype Name, Password.
The CSV file imported successfully into Skype, and successfully created Skype names in our Skype Manager. It also successfully sent emails to our 40+ employees (which I would have preferred not to happen). However, that is about all it did successfully.
The password for each user did not import successfully. I was not able to log-in to any user's account with the known password. Only after I reset the user's password could I log into the account. Thus, I had to manually reset 40+ user's passwords. Yuck.
The First name and last name appear to have done nothing. The user's accounts were not updated with these names. I suspect they were only used to craft personlized emails to the users. Thus, I had to manually update each user's first and last name. Yuck.
Additionally, users received an "Activation Required Email", despite their account showing up in Skype Manager and being active; I confirmed with a Skype chat representative that the accounts should have been active and that no "activation" was necessary. This email should not have been sent.
All of our users have been configured and it took about 6 hours to correct the issues and to distribute contacts for what probable should have taken a few minutes.

Same thing here - each user listed received an invite mail to activate their account, despite having provided passwords for each account in the upload file.  This was a problem since they did not yet know about this project
The activation page asks them to set their first and last name and password - about the only thing that gets preserved is the email address!  Very disappointing given how much time I spent making sure all the data was correct in the upload CSV.

  • Where to find out what happened? CSV Importer throws Exception of type 'Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.CSVImport.CSVInstanceException' was thrown."

    Hi all,
I'm using a CSV Importer in Service Manager Console to import Windows.Computer class data.
The XML "format" file passes muster.
Yet none of my CSV records succeed in being loaded due to this error:
Error: Could not import the row on line ... of CSV file D:\Peter\CMDB II\Exported MPs\TestMPs\SUS_WindowsComputer.csv. Object creation failed with the following error:
--> Exception of type 'Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.CSVImport.CSVInstanceException' was thrown.
Though, like the Microsoft Joke about the Lost Airplane punchline, "...The answer ... was 100 percent correct but absolutely useless...."
Where/ how can I find the cause of this error in the CSV Importer's exception?

to paraphrase another bad joke: "Yo Dawg, i herd you liek exceptions, so i put exceptions in your exception so you can debug while you debug".
    the
system.exception.innerexception property is a way to wrap one exception in another exception and throw it again. This is probably the property you want to look for in the details portion of the exception window. this will likely tell you what the root
    problem is.
