Ovi contacts - can I specify Outlook folder?

Have had to install Ovi as PC suite 7 wont run on Win 7 upgrade (says already installed when NOT!). Sync with calendar fine, but in Outlook 2007 i have 2 folders - 'Contacts'(1300) and 'Phone Contacts'(250) (in pc suite i didnt want 1500 all contacts in phone).
Does anyone know how to get Ovi to sync ONLY 'Phone contacts'? is there a registry entry/or option to make contacts sync point ONLY to this Outlook folder like there is in PC Suite?
Have just synced of course and now have ALL contacts in my phone which is a nightmare!!

I tried specifying every .pst file on my PC and each time Ovi said 'This information service has not been configured. Select an existing file to configure, or type the name of a new file to create.'
This locked me into an endless loop. The only way out is to use Task Manager to kill Ovi.
OK I thought, I'll load my address book into Thunderbird and sync with that. Ovi still insists on having one of my .pst files. Thunderbird does NOT USE .pst files.
Just to make life more difficult a stupid error message saying Nokia M platform has a problem keeps popping up whilst I'm trying to type.
I now have a new Nokia phone which is about as much use as the Samsung it replaced. That had no battery life, this one has no contacts, so I can't phone, or text anyone.
I'm using Ovi 2.2.0.245, so everyone who was advised to upgrade will be wasting their time if they expect it to be better.

Is there a solution to choose a folder on my external hdd to do the auto-backups? I just can choose the volume to backup but not a folder on it. Where does the system strore all the data? just chaotic on my hdd in the root directory?

Yes. Time Machine is an archival backup utility meaning it stores copies of changed or deleted files in case the user needs to retrieve older versions of files. As such Time Machine continues to add hourly to the backup drive. Over time the drive will fill up until it is no longer usable by Time Machine due to lack of space. Having a large backup drive prolongs the inevitable.
If you find this is not something you require for your backup strategy, the use a different backup utility that simply overwrites old files with new ones. Such a backup utility only requires a backup drive equal to the size of the drive being backed up.

Can't sync Outlook folder with 6021

Hi All,
Windows XP Pro SP2, PC Suite version 6.81.13.0, bluetooth connection.
I was able to synchronize the folders just once. During synchronization I received an icoming call and since then (a few days now) I am unable to get it to work again...
I have uninstalled and reinstalled every piece of software/hardware that is related to synching via bluetooth, but I got nowhere... Please give me a clue as to what I should do here.. I don't mind running the software in debug mode if it is accessible in any way.

I think the last syncronisation session was interrupted with something (normally an incoming call does not disturb sync, but maybe this time it did) and what you now have in your phone is a syncronisation log that is corrupted (I cannot be sure of course, bu that is my pet).
You have a S40 device and I don't think there is debug softwares available for it for normal users. I maybe wrong though, you can find loads of interesting stuff in the internet, but putting that to your phone is kind a harsh also.
(I am assuming you have made a battery boot to your phone already)

To follow up on what Jared has posted, an example of what one of the GPP registry settings should look like:
The Key Path is: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\domain.com\website
So that would add in 'website.domain.com' into a users trusted sites but they should still be able to add more sites to the list.
To add more, just create more registry settings in GPP and change the website (and possibly domain) to reflect what you require.

Can Nokia Ovi Suite 2.2.0.241 support outlook fold...

in PC suite, I can choose the different folder to sync with my Nokia device, I downloaded previous versions of Ovi Suite several times when it is released, but everytime I am disappointed, then I remove Ovi Suite and use the PC suite again.
Is this time still letting me disappointed or giving me supprising??
Nokia, it is shame on you, when you release a new suite, but remove all useful function in your program, I guess you have a very detailed specification for the PC Suite, but why not develope your new Ovi suite according to the latest PC suite specification??
I am not disappointed with the Ovi Suite itself, but disappointed your way of working really!!

Can't get all contacts to sync with Outlook 2007,

I've been trying this for a year and I've had no success. This 8900 is my 4th Blackberry. While I've done backups with the others this is the first time I've tried to sync the info. When I first synced I thought everything was OK, but then I noticed a lot of the contacts didnt sync. A lot of iportant ones. I've tried everything and hit a wall. I've gone thru all the 395 contacts, deleted a bunch, fixed a bunch and made everything ready. I've talked to Microsoft, AT&T and the BB folks and still nothing. When I synced it to my PC, 179 of 395 synced and the Outlook folder size is 297kb. I just synced to my laptop and only 124 synced and the folder size is 120kb. I checked the options on the 8900 contact list and it shows my gmail address as the name of my Contact list. I've NEVER loaded my gmail info on this or any other BB. I checked my gmail and there are NO contacts listed. Never have been. I followed the instructions, went to Default Services and there is no Contacts option, only Calendar and Messaging which have my primary email ([email protected]) as the services. I have loaded info for the Netzero email, Roadrunner email and Blackberry email. Did load the Yahoo account name but never connected it. Just checked the service books and there is no gmail info. There'sno option to rename the contact list and I can't see if there are any subfolders under it. I HAVE TO GET ALL THIS INFO TO A PLACE WHERE I CAN ACCESS IT TO TRANSFER TO A NEW NON-BLACKBERRY PHONE. I've literally spent hours researching, talking on the phone and it is still not working. I lost 3 days on it this we3ek that I was supposed to be on the other coast of Florida visiting a High School beauty thats down for a week, a cousin that's fighting cancer and a musician friend. I worked on the highest problem parts of the Space Shuttle Boosters and worked thru some seemingly impossible problems. As a result I had a mental breakdown and now have to depend on othersm whicdh I never did before. Seems like everybody that could help or might have info isn't sharing. I CAN'T BE THE FIRST PERSON THAT'S HAD THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I found out, that the problem what we have is our Public Folder Structure in the company. We have more as 40'000 public folders in this structure.
Now i find out that when i start my Outlook in a offline modus i can selct my special folder after i press the "Select Folder" button.
When i try the same thing in online modus the PC-Suite hangs...
The only combinations that i see is the Public Folder.
I try a test in the evening: I push the button "Select Folder" and have run my PC over the Night. On the next morning the Window was appear.
Also was is my problem the Public Folder Structure that the PC-Suite scans after i push the button "select Folder"

How to get them back in Outlook? Understand iCloud erased them and transferred them in an other outlook account. In Outlook 2007, I can see a folder called "iCloud" but get an error message ("The set of folders cannot be opened...") when clicking on it. I suspect all is there, but no access possible. I assume some Outlook settings are uncorrect, but wonder which settings...?

Can a rule be applied to an individual's Outlook folder from the Exchange Server?

ok... what I want do is create a series of rules so:
an email sent to my inbox is automatically sent to an Outlook folder
a rule is then created to send any emails in the folder to a new external email address
Now - I can do that with client-based rules, but I also want this to work when Outlook is closed and my PC switched off - so can I send a folder from my inbox to another of my folders and then email it out...using SERVER-based rules only?

1. Based on my knowledge, "an email sent to my inbox is automatically sent to an Outlook folder", we can't create a transport rule to achieve it. But we can create a Inbox rule on Outlook or OWA to achieve it. Here is an example：
2. About point 2, you can create a transport rule on EAC or EMS to copy the message user1 received to a mail contact(external email address). Here is an example for your reference.

Right, I finally managed to get it sorted out.
iCloud only accept version 3.0 vcards, and the one I was using were version 2.1 so that's why it wasn't picking it up. So the easy way to get that sorted out is, use a gmail account.
I know you don't wanna do it because you think it's too much hassle and stuff, but trust me it only takes 5 minutes and that's it.
1. Create a Gmail Account.
2. Export your Old VCard files to the Gmail Account.
3. Now Import them from Gmail to your PC again.
And, that's it, that's just makes the new imported version in 1 file contains your all contacts in version 3.0. Now you can just upload that on icloud and then sync it with your iphone.
That's what I did and it worked, and I am sure if you wanna replace this file in the Contacts folder under your User Account in Windows and then try to sync Contacts in Tunes, it should work, but as I said, I did it with iCloud and it worked for me. So aye, that's pretty much it. Phewwww..
Been searching for it for the whole day and it took 5 minutes in the end, badass...
Anyway, don't lose hope and always Google for everything!

Outlook 2013: I can't find the folder where a message is stored

In old versions of Outlook I could right click and go to the properties of the message to see what folder it is in, but that seems to be missing in Outlook 2013. Anyone know how I can enable this functionality?

The "In folder" field can be added to the view or you can look on the File tab, next to the Move to Folder command to see the folder name, but if you need to see the path to the folder, can pull it up from the Advanced Search dialog - open the message, press
Ctrl+Shift+F to open advanced find then click Browse - the message is in the current folder. Complete instructions and screenshots are here:

Help! Can't sync Outlook 2007 contacts & calendar with iPhone 5 or iPad Air

After upgrading software on iPhone 5 & iTunes, I can no longer sync any contacts or calendar from Outlook 2007.
I have been syncing happily for years, but just this week after downloading software updates for iPhone 5 and iTunes, I can no longer sync.
Music and Podcasts and even notes appear ok, but no contacts or calendar.
At one point, I managed to get the calendar to appear but no contacts; then on a later attempt, the calendar completely disappeared from my iPhone and Outlook - with no USB connection at the time. I had a backup, but strange!
I have tried the following with no success (most tips picked up from this forum):
Reset sync and tried again
Reset my phone to be a new phone; deleted everything - no success;
Ensured my default account on outlook was the same standard account as before
Deleted all the addons in Outlook except for iTunes (though iCloud keeps coming back!)
I have run malware software and found nothing
I have shut down and restarted many many times!
I am syncing via USB.
Please help!! I have spent hours trying to get this to work.

By any chance are you running any Eset security software products (like Nod32) on that PC?
If so, there's a couple of alternatives.
Either try the procedure in Samoreen's post:

Or, see if you can get hold of the Eset beta addressing the problem. As Samoreen notes in another post:
ESET have a workaround for this issue. They gave me access to a test version of the HIPS module and this fixed the problem. So I could re-enable the ESET_OPTIONS environment variable (although I still consider that it's a questionable idea). I upgraded to iTunes 11.1.5.5 and there was no problem.
So maybe you should get in touch with ESET support and request the new module ? Just send a message to Marcos in the ESET forum.

I have similar problems trying to synchronize my calendar, also after update on 7.1.1. on my Iphone 5.
It doesn;t replace the outlook entries on Iphone 5.
I didn,t try to synchronize the contacts, because it may fail.
Has any one an idea what could be the reasson for thid synchronize problems.
