  • Ovi games install via Ovi Suite

    Hello,
How can I download free games from Ovi store, save the file to my PC and transfer/install it to my  X2-01mobile via Ovi suite? I don't want to download and install directly from my mobile. Thanks.

    Hello,
THanks for the reply, I wanted to post a new query but can't seem to find the 'Start new message" link:
My Nokia phone X2-01 seems to have a preset security code, although I have never set any codes nor pin codes since I purchased it. I just wanted to delete some message counters logs, but it asks me for security code when I select clear counters menu.
Is there any factory set - security code for Nokia phones? Thank you once again for your advice.
    Regards..

  • OVI Games all need internet to work?

    Im sorry, Im having a feeling there is a catch somewhere and this should be obvious, but I couldn't find the solution for this one;
Im downloading games to my E61i smartphone... but all these games need to load adds and therefor it needs internet everythime I want to play. How frustrating!
So does this website offer stand alone games, where you just click and play.
Please im really looking for a good website. Ovi store looks nice, but im not willing to pay for a simple game like snake or anything. do i have to 'pay to play', or whats the deal?

Though not in all cases, there is a mention that the application will require Network Connection if you read the details...

  • Computer crashing all the time

when i play ,ovies, games it restarts. I put some round cables in could this be the problem

Could you possibly be a little more vague about your system specs. While I truly do believe anything is possible I doubt that is the problem. While I have heard some have a few more write errors with round IDE cables, it's still HIGHLY doubtful that is the cause. I have used them for years w/o a problem in many systems.

  • Wifi connection and ovi store large mb games

e have wifi in the house. I have c7 and there's no problem at all connecting to wifi and browsing the net. It's flawless. BUT when i download videos and games whether from the ovi store or in other net sites, if it is more than say, 20 mb, the download stops in the middle and i observed that i am also not able to access regular websites. I am seeing that wifi status is still connected so i cant understand why it does it.i always have to disconnect and then reconnect the wifi and continue download but games in ovi store and some flash videos do not start from where it was cut! It starts all over again! I end up not able to download it wasting money i paid for the games. Other phones and tabs we have in the house dont get cut off in downloading 20 mb up files. Help please.

Yes, the same occurs to me.  I mean, with my phone... Only freezes when using wifi connection.
Sim, o mesmo ocorre comigo. Quero dizer, com o meu telefone ... Apenas congela ao usar a conexão wifi.

  • Got double charged in ovi store and no download

I wanted to buy a game, entered my credit card info, and got through the confirmation page only to receive the error:
    Card error
Card errors encountered. please try again later or change payment method on the next screen.
This problem wouldn't be so bad except I checked my credit card, and I got charged TWICE even though there was an "error"! The transactions are from Bibit Global Payment Services. Because the transaction supposedly didn't go through in the ovi store, I can't even download the game. I would like a refund for the charges. I've already sent a support request through the contact us page.

@darkmage136 Apparently you can call Nokia-care and ask for a refund.
If a reply has solved your problem click Accept as solution button, doing it will help others know the solution. Thanks.

  • E71x ovi store and apps trouble

on my e71x i am unable to access the ovi store or apps.  when i open the link that had been sent to my phone for the app, it tells me i need to download the ovi store mobile app.  This has been done several times but then there is no way to open this app.  Is there any other way for me to access these apps or the store? if so please give detailed instructions

I was having the same problem.  I would download and install the Ovi store app and after it installed, I couldn't find it on my phone.
    I found a work-around on the AT&T support site.
    1. If you already downloaded Ovi Store from their website on your Nokia E71x you should uninstall it.  To do so go to--menu--settings--App.mgr.--Installed apps.--highlight Ovi Store--click options--Uninstall.
    2. On your PC go to this site.
    http://beta.www.getjar.com/mobile/30928/ovi-store- by-nokia-for-nokia-e71/?c=704x22186624
    3. You should see a small window asking what phone you have. If not, try clicking the tab that says "compatible phones". You are going to notice that the Nokia E71x is not one of the phones listed so just go with the Nokia E71.
    4. Click the orange "download app" tab on the right side of the page. A window will come up with instructions to download.  Follow the instructions to download to phone. There will be a code that you need to write down.
    5. Using your phone go to menu--media net--options(bot left)--go to web address--put in this address exactly http://m.getjar.com
    6. Once you get to that web address, scroll down until you see the words "Quick download code" and click on that.  It will then ask you for that code from step 4. Enter the code and click download. Shouldn't take long at all to download and install. When I was done, I switched off my phone and restarted it.
    7. Once complete with the reboot, there will be an Ovi Store icon/app(a blue bag) under menu--Games&Apps.
Just remember you will need to register an account with them.

  • OVI store and SUPPORT is NOT working, I just lost ...

    Dear Sir or Madam,
I want to inform you (altogether with all forum readers) in case you don't know yet, that OVI Store is NOT working!
Just now I had bought 3 games in Ovi Online Store: Chinese Chess Pro II, Reversi Pro II and Gomoku Pro II. I download and installed Chinese Chess, but two other games gave me 'error' on downloading... The 'error' is in my log now, and only option I have now is to BUY it again! So it seems I lost 2x186 RUR, about 8 EUR on this.
I report it immediately through your online support form. Soon afterwards I received returned message from your server, means my e-mail was not delivered. You can see it below.
I have all e-mails confirming transactions made. I can provide it at any time. Nevertheless, I must tell you this is definitely NOT the way of treating customers and doing business. I am waiting for some action to be taken, so at least I'll have the items I paid my money for.

I'm having the exact same problems!!!! So far I have notified Visa, Digg, and any possible Nokia forum I can find to tell people to stop buying product from Ovi.  I'm even contacting the developers directly.
This is a complete failure on Nokia's part.  I would not expect this sort of thing from the worlds largest phone maker..

  • Ovi Store and my E71

Ok so I'm quite new to this nokia, but the one thing i have been rtying to do this past week is to get some free apps and games on it and so far I have wasted 1 Gigabits of data just re-downloading the same 3 - 4 apps that always seem to fail when Installing, this has to be a problem with the software because prior to this my phone was factory reset.
I find this to be very annoying... tell me how to fix this problem or how I can go about a way to get these free games and apps without using Ovi Store if that is the problem

Not a whole lot that I can help with, but. Im having an issue with the Ovi store myself. I cant even acces it. I have resorted to downloading themes and other things from other websites such as Zedge, and Moblle9.
You cant download content from these sites unless you switch some settings around though. So if you wish to be able to install software from other sits. ( keep in mind that even though they are free there could be a potential virus floating around somewere in some of the downloads) just go to:
Menu > Installations > App. Manager.
(app manger is the key thing here, so get to it with howerver means neccisary)
From there: Left soft key(options) > Settings
Now you will see "Software instalations" turn it to "all"
now enjoy downloading some free themes. dont get a virus though!!!! lol

  • OVI Won't install on my XpressMusic 5730 (hangs at...

I am trying to install the OVI application on my phone so that I can download apps and games but it won't install. After the install it starts up and I see the loading screen but that is all that I get. I do get an icon for OVI but if I try to use it it just does the same thing. Does anyone know how to resolve this? I have tried doing a hard reset and that does not resolve the issue at all.

    Hi Smileyfrog,
Could you be more specific about your issue.
Which operating system do u use?
    Which model handset you use?
Which firmware version do you have in your mobile? ( *#0000# will reveal the details)
Are you trying to connect thru cable or thru Bluetooth?
Which version of OVI suite you use?
Go to OVI suite -> help -> About nokia OVI suite -> System information. Paste the information...
Please attach a screen-shot of the issue which you are mentioning.

  • Why won't Ovi Store let me download any programs -...

I have an E71 and just updated the firmware. As moving settings over messed my wifi up last time, I opted to do this manually and reinstall all my programs - I set aside a few hours last night to get this done.
Ovi Store is widely known to have serious design flaws. The main being it does offer a direct download of the .sisx files on the PC version, only a text message with a link - which goes without saying is a terrible way of receiving files.
Last time I used the PC version my text messages showed up several days later - and this time none have appeared yet, as expected.
So I used the phones built-in Ovi Store, which does the job.
However, after just about installing all my programs I checked out the 'settings' in Ovi Store and saw that the default was for them to be stored on the memory card, which fundamental logic dictates is wrong - they go on the phone memory because it is faster.
Why is the default for programs to be stored somewhere no sensible, intelligent person would store them?
As there does not appear to be any semblance of a functional file system on the E71 (certainly not something capable of showing which memory various applications are saved to, or the option of being able to move them from the memory card back to the phone) I decided formatting the card would be the most sensible option.
I did this, lost a bunch of my apps that were on the memory card and went over to the Ovi store on my phone to re-download them.
It now has these apps greyed out as if they are still installed - which they are not!
I then went on my PC - and of course the website might as well not exist, because Nokia don't send me SMS messages for a few days, if at all.
I really don't know what I've done to deserve this. I've purchased two E71s, Nokia drive AND the traffic updates (which are now free) in the last 18 months - and all Nokia do is work as hard as they can to punish me, ruin my phone experience and force me onto the new Windows 7 phone that I am almost certain to order on release.
There is no coincidence about the degree of deliberately compromising hardware/software decisions I've complained about on this forum, Nokia never sending me programs I want via SMS but happily filling my SMS and email inbox with marketing - and waiting until I paid up for my Maps before making it free and now this.
It is clear that Nokia do NOT want me to enjoy their phone and buy an E72 soon - and instead want me to go with Windows 7. They have put great time, resources and effort into forcing me into this decision.
    - Why does Ovi store online not have the manual download function that any sensible, reasonable human would demand?
    - Why does the second-rate, third-world SMS download function not bother sending the link for several days?
    - Why does the Ovi software install programs somewhere that no human with the slightest comprehension of IT skills would advocate installing them?
    - Why does the Ovi software not let me re-install programs from the built-in store that are no longer on my phone?
I will be the last of my friends who have returned various phones such as the disasterous N97 and permamently moved to different phone manufacturers when my contract ends this summer.

    1. Actually, any sensible intelligent person would store the programs on the memory card. Not doing so would mean that he has less knowledge of the phone. If any of the programs come into conflict with other programs causing certain problems like restarts general hangs, and unable to start the phone, if this app is on the phone memory, it would be hell of a problem. You can change it if you want. Your choice. Also I keep too many apps for them to be stored on phone memory. Python, Java 2.0, Flash Lite, MS Silverlight for Symbian and Ovi Maps already take up too much space to leave enough for buffer.
    2. There is an application manager on the E71. Also, AFAIK the application manager also shows which memory the app is stored in (a little memory card icon beside apps in memory card). It should be in Menu>Tools>Manager
    3. The apps are greyed out because you did not uninstall them properly. On the phone memory, where the Oinstallation logs are saved, there is no log of the apps being uninstalled, so Ovi Suite sees them as installed.
    FOr the questions in bold:
    1. This is done through a firefox plugin. We do not know why, but I suspect its with distribution rights and to make sure that only Nokia phones can access several apps that are exclusive for Nokia users only. For example, Gameloft and Polarbit gave away several paid games for free to Nokia users. If the apps were downloadable in sis files, the game manufacturers would not earn from Sony users who can get the files for their Satio for free through Nokia sites.
    2. Not really sure. There are times I receive the SMS instantaneously, sometimes I receive them a few hours late.
    3. False. In fact as I already stated above, it is more advisable to install apps in memory card as opposed to phone memory.
    4. Also already explained above.
