Ovi is in Thai language - help

I'm spending a few days in Thailand and thought I'd take advantage of the access to ovi that my country doesn't have. Unfortunately it's all in Thai language. Is there anyway that I can change it? Thnks

You can set the Interface Language via the Search settings link on the http://www.google.com/ncr site. That should work for the Google Firefox page as well.<br />
That setting is stored in a Google PREF cookie that you need to keep (allow).

  • Which Language version of Indesign CC supports Thai language?

    Greetings,
I'm trying to troubleshoot floating vowel characters in our selected font (Sukhumvit) in Indesign CC, and can't find which version I should be using to be able to mark my text as thai language. I can of course download any version, but right now am in the English/arabic version.
The troubleshooting involves what can and can't be done in terms of tracking and kerning, and I'm helping to author guidelines for Thai usage for this font for global use.
I'm running a Mac Pro (not the cool new one, yet) Mavericks 10.9.1 and using the most recent update for Indesign
    Please help?
    Thanks
    Mo

I thought that Sukhumvit was a Mac system font, but I was of course completely wrong. Turns out it's an iOS system font, so I couldn't do any testing at all. I assume that you purchased the font directly from Cadson Demak, and I'd take my questions directly to them. It's probably a font build issue.
If I were using a font where I knew the foundry wouldn't listen to my concerns, I might write a fistful of GREP styles that would remove tracking from the floating vowels. Or I might use Peter Kahrel's kerning table script. It's brilliant.
But the most important bit is this: I would also write my style guide so that tracking wasn't indiscriminately applied to all writing systems. That strikes me as a no-brainer. Perhaps your default Latin-script font needs some brathing room at body text sizes in the language(s) you read, and the easiest way to get said breathing room in your workflow is to use tracking instead of a different font or careful kerning. but once again I'd rather use the kerning table script than just track everything willy-nilly.
That being said, It's likely that I'll have to recommend that no tracking or kerning be used with this language. Our creatives won't like that at all, as they like to be able to control every facet.
If your creatives can't read Thai then they should absolutely have that control taken away from them. I'm a localization wonk, not a "creative" so perhaps I'm judging a bit harshly, but if they want to "control every facet" then they'd best understand exactly how Thai is supposed to look - an understanding best achieved by literacy.

    Satya vani

    Hi Satya,
Have you checked if Thai Language is installed completely on the PC you are working.
If not it can be done from Control Panel --> Regional and Language Options. Here check with Regional Options and Advanced Tabs whether Thai has been installed.
One more thing which you can try/see if it is done or not is on any SAP screen on the top right icon see whether everthing has been set properly in Options (I18N)...
    Thanks & Regards,
    YJR.

  • Thai Language Support

Just got my 8900 and wondering how to make it readable on Thai language? My firmware is 4.6.1.94 (platform 4.2.0.69). Scanned through the forums and found the way to make bold read/type Thai, not sure whether I can apply the same process to 8900. Please help.. Many thanks!!

I think is too early to obtain a thai version, you need update the software with a multilingual version but like the 8900 is new, i don't think you have yet.
If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.
If your issue has been solved, please mark the post was solved.

  • Using Thai Language in Forms 6i

    Dear all,
I am trying to use Thai Language as one of the Input in my forms 6i. I've installed the Thai characterset in my computers and i've chosen the thai font for the field which i want in thai. Its entering thai characters but i am unable to print a few characters. When I do the same in Word or notepad it prints the characters correctly but in forms input box it does not. can anybody help me out with this.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Warm Regards
    Vivek Bajaj

Thanks a lot for your reply Frank. I seached on the Net for the solution and found that if we use UTF8 in NLS_LANG registry entry we can solve the problem but our database should support the character set.
Thanks a lot for ur kind Help.

  • Thai Language displaying in '#' in print preview

    Hi experts,
By use of smartform, I am printing the address by fetching datas from tables which are of Thai language.
But in print preview, I am getting '#' characters instead of thai characters.
FYI: I used the Thai lang paragraph format only.
While debugging I can see thai language format correctly but only displaying print preview I am getting
the '#' characters instead of thai characters.
    FYI:
I installed thai languages and also my system supports thai lang.
Kindly help  me in this regard.

    Hi,
If you are able to print it properly and not able to view it in print preview or not even able to print it, then you need to do some addition of adding them in the UNIX server i guess, usually basis people will know about this.
Another possibility could be, UNICODE issue. Let's say if you are using any OPEN DATASET commands, check the ENCODING used, whether it supports these characters or not.
    Regards,
    Santhosh.
