Ovi Mail exchange

Hello,
since last 2 days I can't  access to my Ovi account using nokia messaging on my Nokia 5800xm.
I removed and then installed again nokia messaging but now I get an error while I'm creating the nokia account (can't connect to the server).
My network connection it's ok and I can access to the internet with all other application.
On my 5800 Nokia messaging sometimes had some problem (connection stays always up and the mail cannot be received).
Is it possible to use mail for exchange to connect to Ovi account?

I'm a Nokia E71 user in the US on the AT&T network.  Nokia Messaging worked great for months, starting on Tuesday it seems to have gone down entirely.  If I go to the Nokia Messaging site (email.nokia.com) I can't log in there either (just a web page not available message).  I thought it might be my phone so I've removed and reloaded the Nokia email client, but no luck.  Is anyone else having this problem?  The unavailability of the login site via PC makes me very suspicious that its something more than my E71 giving me trouble.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Custom destination for ovi mail

    Hi,
I'm using mail for exchange and ovi mail on my symbian 3 device. As I've got a low-traffic internet flat and WLAN push is extremely power-consuming, I'd like to push my mails to the phone via a GPRS connection. However for most other applications I use WLAN.
In Mail for Exchange, I've found a setting that allows me to define my desired destination, so this works. However, in the settings screen for my ovi mail account, I can't find such an option.
    Are there any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance
    saardunu

There you go. You are now being a "victim" of a feature that apparently most people wanted to have, and hated Nokia for not providing.
In the past (read: S60) you could normally configure each individual application to use a particular connection or (S60v3FP2) a destination group. Apparently (some) people didn't like that.
With Symbian 3 I think they've tried to make it more iPhone-like with no per-app settings (I don't know, I have zero experience with S3, but I think that was the idea..), so it's either WLAN or 3G, but not both..
Anyway, is your OVI account configured via Nokia Messaging or directly?. With Nokia Messaging you should be able to set-up a specific access point, but I can't tell you for sure..

  • Unable to conect the ovi-mail-server

     Hi!
I just got me a new nokia e55 and was trying to set up an ovi-mail-acount. It looks like it works find, eccept I couldent send e-mails from the phone. And after some days I couldent receve e-mails. And suddenly, those few e-mails I'v got dissepeard from the innbox. "The phone was set up to store them one month). And now it looks like the phone have been blocked from the ovimail serever.
I tryed to register a new acount and a new ovimailadress, but when I try to configure the phone it just says: unable to conect the server or something like that.
I can accsess my ovimailacount on web, and use by my computer. It works perfect. I can eaven log on the ovi webmail with my phonebrowser. But it if I do so, i can onely read e-mails. Nothing else.
What have I done wrong? Do anyone have any ideas?

Surprise!  Without doing anything, about an hour later after I had the problem, it all started working again...receiving and sending emails.
Interimly, I ued the iCloud webmail.
And in response to your question...I had highlighted a User Account in the left hand column but it still would not let me enter anything in the incoming server space.
Mysteriously... who knows why, it all is working again.
Thank you for your reply.  Terry

  • Internal and External Mail Exchange servers server not communicating with IronPort

    Hello Support Community,
I have setup external mail exchange server and an internal mail exchange server to test out ironport, those two are not communicating via IronPort neither are they both recieving eachothers sent messages in their inbox, i have setup a smart host in both of those servers to point to ironport but thats still of no help. I have two smtp routes setup as well one's recieving domain: dummy.local which is external and its destination host: softheon.local which is internal which means its smart host is pointing to ironport's data 1. Is there something that im missing which is not letting these two mail exchange servers connect to each other as well as connect with the ironport to catch the msgs being sent
    thanks

Are you trying to relay through the appliance, or just email the appliance?
If trying to relay through the appliance, make sure the IP address of your exchange server is added to the RELAYLIST under the HAT (host access table) located under Mail Policies Tab - Host Access Table.  Click on the RELAYLIST and add the IP - submit and commit changes.
If you are just trying to email the appliance, you may be getting dropped at the handshake level based on reputation (or lack thereoff).
From your exchange boxes, open up a command prompt and telnet to the ironport on port 25 and initiate a command line email.
    So:
telnet IP-OF-IRONPORT 25 (hit enter, you should connect up and see the IronPort banner)
helo (type helo - from here you'll probably get dropped by the IronPort)
mail from: [email protected] (if you dont get dropped put in your email address)
rcpt to: [email protected] (put in the other email address)
data (type data and hit enter)
This is a test. (type anything, this is the message body)
. (when done typing, type a single . (period) and hit enter.  The email should send if you got that far.
You most likely need to add the IP addresses of your exchagne boxes to the WHITELIST under the HAT to resolve any reputation issues from your test exchange boxes.
    Regards,
    Chris

  • C3-00 chat : "no service available" + OVI mail won...

    Hello all,
Bought a C3-00 goldenwhite 3 weeks ago, though never succeeded to connect to all the OVI applications (OVI chat, OVI mail + communities), which are the two main features that are the reason why i bought this phone
    - chosen connection mode : WIFI only (because prepaid card)
    - device system  version 7.20 (upgraded last week, thought it would resolve the OVI chat/mail issue) : update causes me all audio files downladed from ovi store to be "corrupted file / license expired" whereas it was free content, deleting files and downloading again doensn't bring improvement to the issue
    - restored factory settings but no improvement on OVI chat/mail application issues
    - called my operator: unlocked access to OVI mail "settings" part but wonce account is created, the "connection" wheels runs for a while but nothing happens / still have the "no services available" problem in ovi chat while communities keeps on "updating profile" but nothing happens as well soI don't have proper access to my profile (because "updating profile still runs)
precision : i have no problem to connect to OVI store or any other website through the navigator, issue of "no service available" (chat) and neverending connection (ovi mail) that prevent access to mail is only with those 2 application + communities
    eBuddy works fine
are there any settings to update?
thank you a lot for your help

@Nnova031: hello Well yes, youtube can work if You will make UDP configuration with some ports redirected on router, but this is no slution for me, because i have many wireless connections (few computers, wifi printer, other mobile phones/pda devices, and server with is got all ports redirected on it, rest of devices are using NAT).
The key to make everything work as it should is Nokia. They must fix using TCP/IP over WiFI (with NAT) by their apps. Without them they are just not useful, because all people bought this phones thinking they will use wifi and those really nice apps. Those apps are working well on GPRS/EGPRS for many reasons (like using some proxies by operators in configuration, by using external IP by device so all ports can be opened and waiting for data, while it is sooo insecure like hell, etc.).
I think it should be priority one for all Nokia developers to fix that, because they are selling product, that do not have options. that are reason 90% of all their customers did buy it. It is like buying car, that cannot drive without towing car.
Don't say you want to help - just do it! Happy user of Nokias: 6150 SAT (still work), 6021 (used as backup, still work), 5220 XpressMusic (Drown, screaming for Contact Service), C3-00 (my current phone).

  • OVI Mail - Abandoned too?

What's happening around with OVI Mail? Don't think I'm the only one to find the service being left behind. No updates or anything. Or maybe noone uses OVI mail anymore
Nokia ported everything of OVI Mail for Yahoo to manage. Thought it was done because yahoo have had a good experiencing in managing the mail services and it will be just another domain for them with the same superb yahoo service.
But, what's happening here? Yahoo improved its Yahoo Mail multiple times during this period. They introduced tabs in emails earlier and now this new lovable interface. But where's OVI? Still struck on same old Yahoo Mail interface which expired ages ago. Why? Is it that Nokia no longer wants to provide customers with email and other online services. Look at it. There's no logo of Nokia, even those **bleep** advertisements in sidebar look better than the header with poor OVI branding, which isn't even visible.
I'm just hating my OVI Mail services now. Shouldn't yahoo be asked to keep the features coming in there too? Can we expect an Improvement?
What's happening with Nokia? The once top smartphone manufacturer doesn't finds a spot in Top 10 too? Its like abandoning everything and just join the Microsoft Ship. Nokia is itself going against its own sayings. They need to listen to customers and shouldn't behave like "Hey! We can only provide you with this phone. Go away if you are looking for something else"  Microsoft isn't Nokia's cousin's company. Right? Why is Nokia having so much care (and confidence) for Microsoft than its own customers? Is it the right time to say that Microsoft is running Nokia? Surely my post will be censored. But this is something worth discussing Sorry for some hate lines. But believe me, my love for Nokia isn't any less

  • Mail: com.apple.mail.exchange.serveroverload

My customer got himself a brand new macbook pro and transfered all the data he had over from a previous version of osx.  I believe he is now 10.8 and was 10.7 but am not sure about that.  Ever since then he has had problems connecting to both imail and icalander.  The icalender must constantly have the ssl setting toggled off as it seems to randomly re-enable itself.  That is not the main issue however, he constantly gets disconnected from his mail account.  During these down times he can access webmail.  When I recreate the profile it fixes the problem for around a week and then the problem returns.  I have tried completely wiping all the accounts (he has several linked) and recreating them, but that has no affect.  I have tried combing through all settings to no avail and have reduced the number of messages in inbox since below capture was taken.  I am constantly seeing errors such as the title for this post.  I will include the general errors below.  Please help as I am out of ideas.
    9/3/13 4:33:48.062 PM Mail[16710]: Mail: com.apple.mail.exchange.serveroverload
    com.apple.message.domain: com.apple.mail.exchange.serveroverload
    com.apple.message.concurrentsyncfolderoperations: 5
    com.apple.message.ewsaccountremotetaskoperations: 3
    com.apple.message.concurrentewsrequestoperations: 10
    com.apple.message.ewsrequestbatchsize: 50
    com.apple.message.foldersyncrequestbatchsize: 128
Any attempt to synchronize to the server again will spawn a few more of these errors.
I'll let you know what tomorrow brings

The problem is knowing what other damage has been done.  For example, do Pages, Numbers and Keynote work presently.  Is your Mail system working? etc.
I would put these items in a folder of their own, in the remote possibility they are needed.  Then make a fresh install of iWork from the source disk.  If Mail is not working, it may first be necessary to go further and refresh the OS, by booting into the Recovery partition.

  • Ovi mail web browser access isn't working

    Hi all,
Wonder if anyone else has this problem. My Ovi mail which has been working beautifully all this time has suddenly decided not to show me any mails.
I can see the mail headers displayed in the upper portion, but when I click on it, it doesn't display the mail content.
    Any solutions?
    Thanks in advance.

I'd maybe try doing a search for Safari on your iPad first (swipe to the left to search). If it shows up in that search you can go to Settings > General > Reset and choose 'reset home screen layout' which will put it back where it would be by default.
    All else fails? Restore it.

I still can't get into Ovi mail directly from www.ovi.com, and it's been like this for 2 months now. However. I've found a solution!!
After 2 months of waiting for Nokia to solve this problem, I noticed a button on
my new Gmail account to import email from another POP email account. I
tried this with the following settings typed into the Gmail importer:
POP server: ovi.pop.mail.yahoo.com SSL port 995
In less than 2 minutes, it imported all my emails from the ovi.com account.
So a Google automated process managed to access a Nokia email account in 2
minutes, that Nokia support centre could not access for 2 months.
Conclusion: Google technology is vastly superior to Nokia's.
