Ovi removed facebook s60v5 compatibility with 5800...

For some reason the facebook app on my phone stopped working, so I uninstalled it and proceeded to download the facebook app again from ovi. I the middle of the download it stopped and ovi restarted. Then when I checked again, the facebook appsays that it is not available for the 5800, even if it says that its for the 5800. I the app getting an update or something? Or was this some kind of server error?

I managed to install it again. It seems that when I removed the facebook installer in installed apps, it became available again....hmmm

Ovi Sute version: 2.1.0.87 (clean install after uninstallation of ALL previous Nokia sottware products)
Sync setup:
Sync all = contacts, photos, messages, calendar
Contacts are to be synced with MS Outlook 2007 and Ovi online
Calendar is to be synced with MS Outlook 2007 (wth Outlook preservation of data in case of conflict)
When trying to do a "sync all" Error message:
"Completed syncing the following content types: Messaging
Failed to sync the following content types: Contacts and Photos and Calendar.
Reconnect the USB cable to your device or connect via Bluetooth. Then try syncing again.
80043c0b"
When trying to sync Contacts alone:
"Reading contacts from Nokia 5800 XpressMusic failed. Reconnect the USB cable to your device or connect via Bluetooth."
When trying to sync Calendar and Tasks only::
"Could not sync calendar item and tasks. Plug the USB cable into your device again or connect via Bluetooth. The sync again."
If someone has any ideas why this is happening, please advise.
Also the "My Pictures", "My Videos" and "My Music" folders are by default selected as the folders for Pictures, Videos and Music WITHOUT the possibility to change them.

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

I have removed and re-installed CS2 twice now and still get the same library application error.
DO NOT INSTALL WINDOWS 8 ONTO YOUR COMPUTER IF YOU WANT TO KEEP CS2!
Telling us to spend more money to upgrade our software to meet OS does not show trust to the users. CS2 should be able to work with new OS systems and if not users should be allowed to update their current program for free to be able to use it on the new OS.

E5: Ovi Suite has lost connection with your device...

I am trying to update the software on my E5 using OVI suite but I keep getting an error during the install phase (after backup). The following error and instructions are displayed in the OVI suite window but makes no difference when I follow these instructions (just end up back with the same error).
"Nokia Ovi Suite has lost connection with your device. Follow these steps to help reconnect your device:
1. Remove USB cable from your device.
2. Restart the device (turn off and on again).
3. Re-insert the USB cable.
4. Click 'Ok' below to continue updating."
Current E5 software version is 042.007.
I am trying to update to E5 software v. 043.115
Any ideas?

Yep having the same issue. Just got a replacement handset due to the random restarting issue, soon after setting up the new handset I get a message on phone saying software update is available. Both OVI suite and Nokia software updater say version 43.115 is available (about 200mb in size), I currently have the same version as you 42.007. It claims to do a lot of improvements to the handset. The update downloads fine but when it comes to installing I keep getting the same issue. Phone simply will not restart automatically and the update restarts then fails at the same point over and over. Had the same problem with my previous handset.
I spoke with my network provider to see if it was an issue with the handset needing firmware specific to them but they said no it is an issue with the firmware itself and has been happening to everyone since its release!!! They said I should not download it until Nokia has resolved the issues with it. But how do I know when that will happen as I cannot find anything put out by Nokia stating there is an issue or anywhere on web forums saying there is actually a problem.

How can I remove Facebook from the iPhoto source list?

Lately when I use iPhoto it will not let me quit and I have to force quit. I recently moved to college where there are several separate internet routers. I realized I still had iPhoto sharing turned on from using it at home and thought that might be messing it up, but even after I turn off sharing it will not let me quit. I think it is a problem with Facebook because it asks, "still syncing would you like to stop and quit?" whenever I try to quit the program. I would like to just remove Facebook from my source list, but I can't figure out how. It used to ask me to sign in to Facebook if I wanted to upload pictures but now it doesn't so I have no idea how to make it quit syncing.

HELP printer compatability with computor.

Help...Have hp psc 1310 hp officejet 4200 series......Got a new gateway which is Vista and my old one was XP......my printer will print, but can not scan and tried to program the cd in again and computor would not accept it. Will I need to get a new printer that is compatable with Vista? Any thing to update of just have to get new?

Thank you for posting your request. You should have no issues updating to 10.10 Yosemite. Below are a couple links that should help.
If you run the Software Updates from the Apple Menu, to check for updates. Some have had issues not seeing updates, so simply click on "Store" from the top menu, and then click on Reload Page". Select to install HP Updates to ensure you have the latest drivers.
In some instances, the printer can be updated in the printer queue to resolve other issues, so check to make sure that the printer is listed with the HP Printer Series driver and not just AirPrint. System Prefernces/Printers & Scanners/ select your printer on the left and check on the right side under "Location:" that Kind: is the printer series. You can also click the "-" symbol to remove and then re-add the printer queue again, choosing the HP Printer series name to install the drivers.

If so, then Flash is installed fine. Note, though, that Flash

only play when viewed in a browser (html file) or when

application using ActiveX or similar. So if you are tryting
to play a swf

A730 keyboard and mouse compatibility with other machines

I would like to have a USB keyboard mouse with the machine. Unfortunately there is not an option for that with this machine. I would like to sell the k/m that comes with the machine.
What machines including ones not made my Lenovo would the k/m be compatible with?
According to the Lenovo support page for the drivers for this k/m the drivers are compatable with various Lenovo machines.

honestly i'm not sure its my 865PE Neo2 LS or not,it may be a software issue. I'm just guessing because that was a the biggest change in my system before I started to experiance this problem.
I have experianced this problem with the default windows drivers as well as with logitechs current Mouseware drivers, although i have not tried to install older mouseware drivers
I've had lockups with CoreCell installed as well as removed.In DirectX 8.1 as well as DirectX 9
I thought perhaps it might have been my soundcard because prior to buying that I didnt have any problems...so I removed that...but i still got the same problem (although as i type this i realize i didnt uninstall the Audigy software before i tested....hhmmm. I'll have to test that)
I have noticed it happens more often in OSP/Quake3 (a competition mod) than in plain vanilla Quake3, but it does happen in both.
One intersting thing i discovered by trying out a Belkin KB with my set up was that when i hit a certain combination of keys it would exec a chat bind i had bound to a whole other key ?!?
the combination was r + g + spacebar = keypad home
That particular problem stopped once I went back to original Keyboard. It did stick in my mind however that when playing Q3 i am hitting combinations of keys all the time and that maybe I'm hitting a combination that is problematic for my system. I have not been able to figure out what that combintion is yet (I tried for quite a while ...but was unable to find the correct combination to reproduce the problem )

JDK 1.5 Serialization Compatibility with assert()

I have the following class:
class xyz implements java.io.Serializable {

}If I compile it on both JDK 1.4 (with -source=1.4) and 1.5 (with -source=1.5) platforms, the serialVersion IDs are different. If I comment out the assert statement, the serialVersion on 1.5 platform changes to be the same as the 1.4. If I rebuild the 1.4 with the assert commented out, the serialVersionID does not change.
Am I missing something here? I have code that needs to be compatible between these versions, but it now seems that the use of assert (other than the statment "assert true") built with 1.5 effects the serialization ID.

Sure, I can define my own version, but the point is that I've got many fielded classes that have not changed, but now will fail serialization when comunicating with the new system simply because of the use of assertions with 1.5.
It looks like I will be forced to either go back to 1.4, test all classes for serialization compatibility with 1.4, or remove the asserts from the code.
In any case, it does not make sence to me why adding an assertion should change the serialVersionUID of a class in the first place when compiling under 1.5 and not under 1.4.

I am very happy to report that my server connection tech, which I called via landline, informed me to : 1. Open Tools 2. Scan down to Clear Recent History 3. Delete All. That was it! Unbelievable! Six hours of searching through the Windows catagories. I checked the results on an internet site, and viola! It was gone! Mozilla Firefox seems to remember the usernames and passwords irregardless of the option window that asks if you if want it to remember the user and password. I finally got in touch with my friend and he said he did not answer yes to the window, even though he was aware of it. No damage. I surely do appreciate everyones' concern in this, now what seems to be, a very simple solution. Cudos to Firefox! Thank-you! P.S. I now have to enter my information at the beginning of any password protected sites...no harm done! My friend is now condemned to the 'user account' site! lol...

Logic Pro X compatibility with mbox 2 mini and 2009 core duo macbook

I currently have Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 and an Mbox2 Mini, both of which amazingly still work on Mountain Lion 10.8.4. I'm interested in learning Logic and am trying to confirm compatitility with the Mbox2 Mini on a first generation core duo Aluminum Macbook (2.4 Ghz) running 4gb of RAM. The system requirements just say 10.8.4 or later with a 64 bit processor. The Macbook runs fine, and I primarily just record stereo piano tracks, so it's not like I'm going to have 16 tracks running on it. Anyone using an Mbox2 Mini, and any issues with the hardware?

It's not an external device's compatibility with LPX that matters...
It's your external hardware's compatibility with whatever OS X version you are using to run LPX in.... that is important.
Im guessing you upgraded OS X about the same time you switched to LPX?

Note: Why is it showing Duet and not Quartet briefly? Are you sure you installed the correct drivers or did you, at one time have a Duet?
Additional: You might want to try this.. though I doubt it will fix things... but this can cure all kinds of weird issues...
Delete both the main plist and the CS file...
Delete the user preferences
You can resolve many issues by restoring Logic Pro X back to its original settings. This will not impact your media files. To reset your Logic Pro X user preference settings to their original state, do the following:
Quit Logic Pro
In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
Press the Go button.
Remove the com.apple.logic10.plist file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro X User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro X, then you may also wish to delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.
Restart the computer.
Note: if you cannot find either of these files you didn't follow the instructions exactly as described

Photoshop CS5 compatibility with windows 7 and windows 8

I do not understand the technical side of computers - I just use them for my work as a photographer
I have Photoshop CS5 32 bit installed on my PC with Vista home premium. I am buying a new PC with 64 bit Windows 7 installed, and it also has the option to upgrade for free to Windows 8 pro.
Will my CS5 work on windows 7 and if I take the free upgrade will it work on Windows 8 pro?
Does it matter that CS5 is 32 bit and the new PC will be 64 bit?
I don't want to get the free upgrade if it means my CS5 won't work on it, as I am happy wioth CS5 and do not need to upgrade to CS6 yet.

Photoshop CS5 is a 32/64 bit application, so when you install it on your new system it will install both 32 and 64 bit versions by default. This will give you compatibility with your 32 bit plug-ins, as well as 64 bit capability to edit large documents.
You may want to avoid the upgrade to Windows 8 at this time. It's still immature and the drivers (e.g., for ATI video cards) leave something to be desired. Plus, in general Windows 8 doesn't offer any compelling new features over Windows 7 (and actually removes some very useful one) - unless you really want the silly full-screen Metro/Modern games they offer at their new App Store.
If you DO decide to install the Windows 8 upgrade, I recommend you take whatever steps are necessary to install the new system as a full, virgin installation, rather than trying to upgrade the Windows 7 system you already have installed - and by this I mean you should NOT take the "keep programs and settings" upgrade, but do a Custom installation and install Windows 8 as though on a blank disk. Operating systems installed as upgrades to prior versions virtually never work right.
In any case, after having run Photoshop on Windows 7 for a while, you'll want to DEactivate your Adobe software before making the transition (you can do this through the Help menu), then reactivate it after you're up on the new system. This keeps control of your activation/licensing in your hand.
I strongly suggest you read up on Windows 8 before deciding to upgrade. You'll find a lot of experts agree that it's not an improvement over Windows 7, which is hard to imagine because all prior versions - even Vista - have been improvements over their predecessors.

Remove facebook integration

Is there a way to remove FaceBook integration from OSX ML either from a GUI service or from an environmenal setting at the shell prompt?
It really bugs me that after using Safari to visit financial / banking sites (after ALL cookies / history are deleted and empty), there is a Facebook cookie that seems to grow and grow.
When I try to remove this cookie, clear cache, etc, it is still there. There always seem to be 4 or so of these stubborn cookies that -- even after clearing history and cookies / cache -- seem to still hang around.
I have had some luck completely clearing "Top Sites" but these sites continue to populate with sites I do not visit -- ie, Facebook.
So here are my questions :-D
1. Is there a way to "opt out" of Facebook integration
2. Is there a way to turn off "Top Sites"
PS: I understand (?) doing Private Browsing might not put encrypted cookies on my system (which I have no idea what they are storing) -- It would be great to be able to say "accept cookies only from these SITES" etc. Private browsing frequently visited sites sort of defeats the purpose of storing settings for those sites as they are blown away once the browser is closed. I understand there is a value in tracking my online behavior ONCE I VISIT A SITE (like facebook, which I don't) ... but I see something completely different storing behavior when I have not specifically ENABLED tracking cookies or ever VISITED a site -- even after I have supposedly cleared them from Safari.
Seriously -- This really bugs me.
