Ovi Store Application NOT WORKING

I've been experiencing this problem for a while already. Probably like many other users, I could not access Ovi store via its application. Everytime I open it, there's a error script saying " Application Initialisation Failed"
I'm using Nokia 5800 Xpress Music
If anyone already know how to fix it, please kindly let me know......It's been very annoying.

I have exactly the same issue. Ovi store worked perfectly until i installed the latest version a few days ago. i've tried removing it from my phone and re-installing and this has had no effect i still get the same message 'application  initialisation failed'
I am also using a nokia 5800xm.
if i find something out from a different source i will inform you of my findings.

    After having to reset my phone twice now due to the Nokia X6's software issue, this time i am unable to use the Ovi store.
    I've even done a 3rd reset just to make sure.
    Firstly, for some reason, i was unable to login to my account as it said wrong password. (No idea why), so i had to reset the password via the website.
    Once i had done that, i tried logging in and after entering username/password, it failed with the "The operation could not becompleted due to an error" problem. 
    I then pressed sign in again and it worked, but this time, it put me on the "Terms and Conditions page"? But no matter how many times i hit accept, i get the "The operation could not becompleted due to an error" error and i am quite sick of it now.
    Whether i get a fix or not for this problem, i'll be going in store and returning this phone as soon as possible. It is unacceptable with the 2 resets i've had to do due to the phone crashing.
    Then the loss of contacts that are stored on the phone. (The Ovi sync feature is useless without the settings that are sent via sms! So what if i'm away from the computer for a number of days?)
    Then there is the fact i cannot use the Ovi store. So now i am going on holiday for a week, without the store, without the possibility of getting the application i could do with using during the holiday.

    see how many text you have in your phone you should keep this as free as possible ,now try a reset back your data up first the code is *#7370# security code is 12345 ,then see if you can upgrade your firmware

  • App Store Applications Not Working

    It took a few hours but I found the solution to this problem.
    Here is a brief description of what happened:
    Went to App Store on my new iPhone 3G and downloaded three applications: Monkey Ball, eBay and Jott.
    At first all three worked. (Monkey Ball is a great game but difficult to control)
    I stopped running the applications and did some other things with my iPhone 3G. (email, safari, you tube, etc...)
    I then tried to run Monkey Ball again. It showed the Splash Screen for a few seconds and then the iPhone went back to the main display. The Monkey Ball application just "turned off" and went away.
    I tried to load the other applications and ran into the same problem. They would try to load and then the main iPhone display with the icons would show.
    I tried to do a full reset by holding both buttons for 10 seconds. That did not help.
    I was about to do a restore when the solution occurred to me:
    1: Hook the iPhone to your computer and start the Sync process.
    2.1: iTunes will ask you if you want to transfer your applications to your computer. It will warn you that if you don't the applications will be deleted from your iPhone. THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT.
    2.2: If you have already transferred your applications to your computer, then BEFORE you start the sync you need to delete the applications from iTunes on your computer. Do this by clicking on Applications in the left menu and then right-clicking on the bad application and selecting Delete.
    3: Tell iTunes that you DON'T want to transfer your applications to your computer and allow it to delete the applications from your iPhone.
    4: Reset your iPhone by pressing the two buttons for 10 seconds.
    5: Go back to the App Store and re-download and install the application(s).
    NOTE: It will look like the App Store is going to charge you for the application again but at the last minute it will say that you already bought the application and will not be charged.
    Basically what you are doing is deleting the application from your iPhone and reinstalling it.

    The problem has to do with the iPhone OS 2.0.2. It is still buggy.
    My unit at first froze, however, I was able to shut down and restart the iPhone. After restart... ALL my App Store apps stopped working (launch at first then go back to home screen). ARGGGGG !!!!!!
    I noticed initially when I installed apps from my iMac to the iPhone it took:
    5 seconds per app....
    after 30 installed apps it took 60 seconds to install an app
    after 90 installed apps it took 70 seconds to install an app
    after 110 installed apps it took 75 seconds to install an app
    The last app never installed, instead I got this unknown error (0xE800002d) go figure.
    110 apps equaled to 324 MB... plenty of free space left. What gives?
    I believe, Apple's OS has a serious problem managing flash memory, in particular in the app layer of the OS. When the OS tries to thread from one mem array to another in our case, OS array to App array, there exists too much latency and the app crashes & corrupts the iphone app kernel. The temp fix would be to just re-install the iphone app kernel upon iphone reboot.

    I believe, Apple has incorporated some cheap flash memory from particular manufacturer(s) with slow read and write times and now they are having to scramble to re-write code in the OS to compensate for the NAND chip differentials of millions of deployed iphones they have put into the market.

    I own a nokia C7 since the past 4 months. Earlier it used to connect to ovi store using wifi, but now it has stopped connecting to ovi store from either wifi or the cellular network. it says 'unable to connect to service'/ what should i do?

    My Apo store does not work when I try to update applications that need to be updated

    There are a number of other threads from people reporting a problem with a blank Updates tab in the App Store app - it looks like there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.
    Some posts are suggesting that you if you go into the Purchased tab in the App Store app you might be able to update the apps from there, though you will need to scroll through the list to find those with updates and individually update them.

    After eventually updating to symbian Anna, I've noticed that some applications are not working properly, notably AccuWeather and Facebook. Uninstalled AccuWeather and re-installed it but still didn't work . Seems pointless releasing a software update and then to discover that applications from Ovi store won't work on your device! With Facebook I can only login in to my account but when I go to view a friend etc, it shuts down. 
    Has anyone any suggestions or solutions to the problem?

    i updated to the latest version 025.007 on my E7 too and a lot of the apps on the store dont work. Just blank screens.
    Somebody do something!!
    I use other devices, and havent faced this problem with any of them after an upgrade!

    I have problem with my ovi store in my new Nokia N8. I can´t loggin to ovi store. The program show website, which is for "Ovi Store Application download" and if I download  and install app  and start app agains, the program show me the same website. I tested reinstall SW and reinstall app, but it doesn´t work.Thanks for reply....

    Anyone else having problems getting onto the itunes store. Not working at all on either of my ipads or phone, just a plain white screen and the spinning circle at the top? Noticing lots of little glitches lately, letting standards slip a little I think. May look elsewhere on next contract renewal.
    Just noticed App store is the same. Have reset devices, logged off account and logged in again etc etc. Must be apple for it to be on more than one device?

    There are a couple of things you can try.  Try closing all open applications and power cycle the device.  Second, would be to reset all settings.  Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings.
    If the issue persists, try signing out of all services that require signing into your Apple ID and then signing back in.

  • Ovi store will not install. + getting quickoffice ...

    Hi, today I did a hard reset of my E6. I did this because I got an error trying to install ebuddy, chat for facebook and others. (Innstallation failed error).
    Now, I seem to have a similar problem with ovi store, it downloads but I get an error "Could not install" after it is downloaded. I have tried several restarts and also downloading the installe rfile to my phone, same error. I am getting very frustrated right now.
    Also, how to I get the preinstalled apps like joikuspot (Is that spelled right?) and quickoffice back?
    Any help would be appriciated!

    I'm having the same problems with my E6. I have got it for a week or so now. My Ovi Store didn't work at all but then out of nowhere I got an update on it and now it's working fine. I even downloaded an free app called NU.nl but after that one I get errors everytime I want to download an app. I didn't do a reset because my E6 is totally new and I haven't put anything on it so don't see the point of that. Can somebody help?

    then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.
    If you mean that you are being prompted to review your account then you could see if this post by mountaingoatgirl lets you do so without needing to enter credit card details : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24303054#24303054
    If not then you will either need to enter credit card details (you should be able to delete the card after entering it) or create a new account, and use the instructions on that HT2534 page when creating it.

    Hmmmm... would appear that you need to be actually logged in to enable the additional menu features.
    Have you tried deletting the plists for MAS?
