Ovi Store Re-download Error

I got my N8 replaced at the local Nokia Care with a brand new handset. However, I do have one problem and was wondering if you guys know anything about it:
When I am in Ovi Store, and I try to re-download all my previously installed applications it charges me again. i.e. when i go to My stuff it says something about there being a newer version of the application. Even though I have the latest Ovi Store version 2.06 and I tried Angry Birds Seasons and I Must Run but theyre exactly the same versions i had downloaded only a few weeks ago. Is this because the Ovi Store apps u download are not linked to your username but your actual IMEI? Does anyone know what I need to do to get all the applications i had before without paying for them all again cos I've already paid for them......

Are you trying to update Angry Birds and Angry Birds Seasons? Just tap the update button on the main screen of the game, it's in the lower right portion of the screen.

OVI store app installation error - network connect...

Im downloading some app at ovi store in my PC using Nokia PC Suite, my N8 connects to my pc using Bluetooth.
i can install some app but some of them are cancelled with this error message "Network connection lost cancelling installation"
and there's a message to select a particular icon to continue installation, but i cant find that icon in my N8
some snapshot of this error is attached
what does it really mean? how can i fix this?

Problem updating ovi store and downloading whatsap...

When i try to open ovi store on my x2-01 it tells me to update it before i would be able to download it and when i try it always tells me page not found.my other problem is when i try to download any software e.g whatsapp application using my phone it tells page not found i have restore it factory setting but am still having the same problem please what should i do because i really love to use other softwares e.g whatsapp

Unfortunately that is one of the outstanding issues with the current firmware in the N8, E7 and C7. The hard reset does not reinstall Qt which is required for the apps you mentions. See this.

Although it is possible to reinstall Qt, the process is highly complicated and should only be atempted by expert users. My suggestion would be to either get your phone reflashed at your local Nokia Care Point or to wait for the next firmware up[date which will hopefully include a fix for this.

E6 - Belle | OVI store cannot download & install.

Now, I am unable to download or install OVI store. My software update says up-to-date. But in my phone, OVI store & Maps are still missing. How can I download? I have gone through store.ovi.mobi in mobile web browser, it downloads, but installation fails "Unable to install".

I had to re-install the software again using Nokia OVI suite.

App Store Purchase/Download Error !!

When I'm trying to download Xcode or any app it's give me that error.
We could not complete your purchase.
The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed.
When I try to install an update for my computer it's give me that error.
An error has occurred

Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.

Unable to sign in to ovi store and download apps

I received two download links from the Nokia website upon request. Clicking on the link gets me to the download site and it asks me to sign in or register if I don't have a Nokia account. Whoever designed this was either on drugs or intoxicated, because without a nokia account they don't send you a download link in the first place. Since I do post this message here, I obviously did register and have an account. The problem is, my username and Password is not being recognized and it sends me into a never ending loop, with other words I am unable to sign in and download the application.
i am at my wits ends and I am fuming at Nokia for giving me such a hard time to download a simple mobile app.
My phone model is the E71x and both apps I received the link for are supposed to be compatible with this model.
Has anybody ever had a similar problem? Please enlighten me if you know the solution.

I think I got the solution!!!!!
Yesterday I was so fed up with it, spending from 09:00 till 22:00 trying to fix this, but finally it works on my Nokia E72.
I noticed that every time I filled in my username, it first showed me alternative names and texts. When I chose the right one, it put an extra space behind it. Then I found that this auto tekst thing was messing **bleep** up.
Open a new text message ( SMS ), fill in a receiver, and subject and then go to the message text field. Than hit the 'options' button. Scroll down, until you find an option like text options. ( I have a Dutch version here ). Because I hate my computer/phone to interfere with thing I type I de-selected all options and voila.... it works.

Ovi store will not install. + getting quickoffice ...

Hi, today I did a hard reset of my E6. I did this because I got an error trying to install ebuddy, chat for facebook and others. (Innstallation failed error).
Now, I seem to have a similar problem with ovi store, it downloads but I get an error "Could not install" after it is downloaded. I have tried several restarts and also downloading the installe rfile to my phone, same error. I am getting very frustrated right now.
Also, how to I get the preinstalled apps like joikuspot (Is that spelled right?) and quickoffice back?
Any help would be appriciated!

I'm having the same problems with my E6. I have got it for a week or so now. My Ovi Store didn't work at all but then out of nowhere I got an update on it and now it's working fine. I even downloaded an free app called NU.nl but after that one I get errors everytime I want to download an app. I didn't do a reset because my E6 is totally new and I haven't put anything on it so don't see the point of that. Can somebody help?

E5 connection to OVI stores

Hi guys, I hope someone can help me. I have had my E5 a couple of weeks now and am having trouble connecting to OVI stores to download apps. I have a nokia account which I have set up using my PC at home but when I enter the correct credentials through my phone, it says the entered data is incorrect. I have tried selecting the game I want through the pc, OVI sends the phone a text I follow the instructions and still no good. This is driving me nuts, please help..

Ovi store doesn´t work at my N8

I have problem with my ovi store in my new Nokia N8. I can´t loggin to ovi store. The program show website, which is for "Ovi Store Application download" and if I download and install app and start app agains, the program show me the same website. I tested reinstall SW and reinstall app, but it doesn´t work.Thanks for reply....

N9 - Download error on ovi store

I tried to download some software (File Manager Beta and Battery Usage) but failed.
Ovi store showed "Can't install" "Unable to continue installation due to unresolved error".
I tried both WLAN and 3G but it failed in both way.
How can I install applications from Ovi store?

Hey Akiran! Welcome to the Nokia forums.
Initially, verify that the app has downloaded to your computer. You can do this by searching your computer for the app name as it may have downloaded to an unfamiliar location. If you cannot find the application, delete all files from Temporary internet files -folder, and try download again. You can empty the folder from Internet options:
1. Close Nokia Ovi store
2. Open Control panel > (Network and Internet - in Category view of Windows Vista and 7) > Internet options and select General -tab
3. In Windows XP select Temporary Internet files > Settings > Views files. In Windows Vista and 7 select Browsing history > Settings > Views files
4. Delete all files from the Temporary Internet files -folder (all offline content will be deleted)
Alternatively check that internet connection is working correctly and that firewall or antivirus application settings does not prevent downloads.
If you you are not able to download the application, please contact Nokia Care, and let us know the application you were trying to purchase and any error messages that were displayed. Check the Contact us -link up in this page for local Nokia Care details.

Ovi store download error

i get an error in red everytime i want to download from ovi store an application for my N8... how can i fix this??? thank you

i have had the same problem, and i phoned up nokia support and they said its some thin they are working on.
just keep looking for updates is all they said to me.

Download error - ovi store- N8

I was perfectly happy with my ovi store, until a week ago where I had to update my ovi store on my N8. I'm not sure if the problem is from the update or not, all I know is that every time I try to download something (anything for that matter), I get a download error without even starting the download and I am redirected to the '' My stuff " page with an inspiringly annoying caption saying: Download is not completed, please download file again. I can only wonder, is Ovi store suck? or is it just my phone? Does anyone have encountered this problem before? If yes, how did you solved it?
ps: I am not looking for formatting or rebooting or hard-wiring anything. I am much too scared for losing my memory and applications. There! I admitted it.

I have managed to get the Ovi store working on my N8 now, after a convoluted route.
There was a device software update reported by Ovi suite (from 011.012 to 014.002), which failed to install. I then did it successfully via over air update from Menu >Settings >Phone >Phone management >Device updates >Options >Check for updates
After this completed, Ovi store was still broke, but there was an Ovi store update available under the device updates location above. Selected this, which downloaded fine, started to install, but just hung on installing. After about 10 minutes I hit the cancel button, and it said installation successful!!. Went to the main menu, clicked the Ovi store icon, and it started a new look application (not the browser one). It then said an update was available, which downloaded and installed fine - and now connects to the Ovi store.
It worked for me, may even work for others.

Got double charged in ovi store and no download

I wanted to buy a game, entered my credit card info, and got through the confirmation page only to receive the error:
Card error
Card errors encountered. please try again later or change payment method on the next screen.
This problem wouldn't be so bad except I checked my credit card, and I got charged TWICE even though there was an "error"! The transactions are from Bibit Global Payment Services. Because the transaction supposedly didn't go through in the ovi store, I can't even download the game. I would like a refund for the charges. I've already sent a support request through the contact us page.

Nokia N8: Unable to download from Ovi Store

After making the error of trying to install Kaspersky to my N8 and so having to re-format everything to get the phone working again (using #*7370# but not the three fingered salute) almost everything is working ok except Ovi Store. I can get onto the store fine but as soon as I try to download anything it says Download Error in red. If I try to send a text to my phone with the download link, the message never arrives. Ovi verified the number fine (sent the verification text no probs) and even managed to sync somehow. But when I tried to set up the sync by getting the text with the settings, nothing happens.
Can anyone help

PS- I've updated the software for the phone and for Ovi Store so it's completely up to date.

UPDATE
Well I took the general advice and went to my nearest Nokia care centre today. They informed me that there was nothing further they could do as they flashed the firmware twice and still could not reinstall Ovi Store. They recommended that I send the phone to Nokia and that I would be without it for 3 weeks + .
This is quite disgraceful , at least with my iphone it would be repaired on the spot or replaced. I am very annoyed with the total lack of customer care particularly after spending a small fortune on this phone.
Does anyone know if Nokia are going to provide a new update for people in my position ?
Can anyone else who has suffered this difficulty let me know?
