Ovi Store update v2.12.033 on N8 failed to work

I have updated Ovi Store 2.12.033 on my N8 (PR 1.2) today but it failed to update completely. I uninstalled it and downloaded it from ovi store, installed it but it fixed on the loading page. Restarting also dosen't help. Now I also not able to install previous versions also. What to do to fix problem? I also not want to hard reset.

I had the same problem on my E7. Failed update, then it would just stay in loading screen.
I fixed it by installing the following component (which prompts you to overwrite other components as well)
http://nds2.betalabs.nokia.com/reader/Ovi_Notifications_Support_Package_Symbian3_v1.1.11118.sis
Reboot, then hopefully it should work.

  • E5 Ovi Store update Problem/Bug

    Hi,
Had a notification that a newer version of Nokia / OVI store was available today (22/02/12 Ver. Ovistore_32prdSrv_1_22_014.sisx) so I downloaded and installed it.....
    BUT....
It stores cache on the phone memory in a directory  imagecache/Juniper and is full of all the icon pictures of apps on the nokia store.........so the phone memory is filling up.
    EVEN WORSE...
If I go into my pictures gallery they are all being displayed there!!!
Can't find any of my own photo's because all these stupid icons/pictures from the store!
Nokia.....you really didn't test this update fully................. did you?

Reinstalled The Device Software from Nokia Suite..........Still no joy
Open the Nokia Store from the main menu and its tell me I must download the new version or exit.
Download the new version and screws up the phone as per previous posts.
Does anyone know where to get the previous version that was active upto yesterday ??
    i.e. BEFORE  "Ovistore_32prdSrv_1_22_014"
Tried emailing Nokia from the OVI online store and I quote  "Contact publisher for issues found in content: http://nokia.com/ | [email protected]"  and the email bounced back!! Great customer support

  • Ovi Store and X7

My husband and I about a month ago got two new X7 phones. ever since we have had the phone we have had problems with the Ovi store. I have been in contact with Nokia support to try and resolve this issue with no luck.
Today when I was talking to them try to fix this issue i went to my husbands phone, clicked on the ovi store and it told me that it needed to update so I allowed it to. Guess what now it workes perfectly fine on his phone and still will not work on mine. They have done a factory reset on my phone and then manually tried to do it using Nokia Suite still no luck.
I did some digging and noticed that there are two different versions of the Ovi store on both of our phones, 2.08.035 on his and 2.12.045 on mine. Ovi as well is different, 0.6.11121 on his and 1.0.11122 on mine. Looking into it more there are other default aplications on his phone that i know are not on mine.Is there any way for me to transfer these from his phone to mine? Maybe it'll make everything work..

Hello Chew22, I think the file transfer cannot be done. Because some files come with the firmware and we cannot send them. For Ovi/Nokia store you may try to download the latest client and then check whether its working or not. You may check these two links http://n8fanclub.com/2011/09/ovi-store-updated-to-nokia-store-316030.html?m=1 or http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/store-qml-client . The latter one is a beta version but you may try.

  • Download error - ovi store- N8

I was perfectly happy with my ovi store, until a week ago where I had to update my ovi store on my N8. I'm not sure if the problem is from the update or not, all I know is that every time I try to download something (anything for that matter), I get a download error without even starting the download and I am redirected to the  '' My stuff " page with an inspiringly annoying caption saying: Download is not completed, please download file again. I can only wonder, is Ovi store suck? or is it just my phone? Does anyone have encountered this problem before? If yes, how did you solved it?
ps: I am not looking for formatting or rebooting or hard-wiring anything. I am much too scared for losing my memory and applications. There! I admitted it.

I have managed to get the Ovi store working on my N8 now, after a convoluted route.
There was a device software update reported by Ovi suite (from 011.012 to 014.002), which failed to install. I then did it successfully via over air update from Menu >Settings >Phone >Phone management >Device updates >Options >Check for updates
After this completed, Ovi store was still broke, but there was an Ovi store update available under the device updates location above. Selected this, which downloaded fine, started to install, but just hung on installing. After about 10 minutes I hit the cancel button, and it said installation successful!!. Went to the main menu, clicked the Ovi store icon, and it started a new look application (not the browser one). It then said an update was available, which downloaded and installed fine - and now connects to the Ovi store.
It worked for me, may even work for others.

  • E72 and App. mgr. and Ovi Store link

I clicked the 'download themes' shortcut from within the themes menu.  It wanted me to update Ovi Store.  That took 2 tries, but it worked.  The Ovi Store shortcut works fine.  However, the download themes option still points to a web page that wants me to download and install updated Ovi.  App. mgr. does the same thing.  After a couple seconds, Ovi Store starts, but when I exit, it takes me to this Ovi Store update page.  Is the link in app.mgr. and download themes just needing a change??

The link currently used is http://go.store.ovi.mobi/entry/van/apps/E72-2. I suspect that needs changing to fix this nuisance.

  • Regardless of what you might think of the OVI stor...

...I am so glad I do not have to limit myself to working through iTunes.  I just now received notice of some free book downloads that I had an interest in, only to find that I had to go through several steps in order to re-authorize my computer to work with iTunes.  After numerous steps, verification of identity as well as payment methods, I was finally assured that I was ready to download the book.  Surprise!  I had apparently exceeded the number of authorized devices associated with my itunes account. I would have to de-authorize a device first.  But here's the problem: I no longer have any of the older devices to de-authorize.  At that point I closed iTunes, thanking my stars that I don't have an iPhone, and am not locked into using iTunes and its Byzantine licensing labyrinth!

The five device limit for protected iTunes content has been in place forever.
It no longer applies to audio files as they are no loner protected.
If you run into the five device limit, you can de-authroize all your devices once every month from one computer running iTunes and then re-add those you still need.
Whenever possible, I buy symbian apps from the developer instead of Ovi. Not only are the apps in the Ovi-Store often several versions behind, but you can't even see in the Ovi-store which version you are buying.
All in all the experience with iTunes (I support fruit phones here @ work) is far less tedious than wrestling with the notoriously unstable, buggy and unreliable Ovi-Suite and the IMHO quite painful to navigate Ovi-Store.
    @kiltbear
Thought that de-authorising allowed once a year not month if 5 devices authorised:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
At least if you buy from developer you have the downloaded application forever, as can easily disappear from OVI store.
If you purchase app. from iTunes it is not tied to IMEI when you re-sync new device.
Yes you are right about the de-authorize feature in iTunes, my memory failed me :-)
Well, as for being tied to IMEI, Gravity for Symbian is when bought from the developer, but you can transfer it if you switch phones.  That won't be happening as I don't plan on buying another Nokia device after the dreadful N97. After 16 or so years of only Nokia devices I'll look elsewhere when my 24 month N97 ordeal, err contract is up in December.
As for the Ovi-Store and Ovi-Music, I tried to get the non-DRM version of albums and songs that I had purchased (with vouchers from the 5800XM and N97) just prior to Nokia finally going non-DRM because an Ovi-Suite update had nuked my licenses and failed miserably.
Only one album was offered for re-download, in DRM-protected form, but hey, at least it was listed twice! None of my other music showed and support was living up to their trade-mark Nokia uselessness. I'm just glad I didn't actually pay for those downloads.
IM+ was a similar story. Ancient version in the Ovi-Store, no update and the Ovi-Version key did not work with the version downloaded from shape Services (the developer) did not accept the Nokia key. This was followed by more Nokia support uselessness.
Haven't bought anything from the Ovi Store since. I always check if I can get it from the developer or another store portal (e.g. Handango).
Suffice it to say that every other dowload store I buy and bought stuff from (Sony, Handango, PalmGear, Apple, Audible)  was able to solve any problems efficiently, swiftly and satisfactorily, with the one big exception being Ovi. Of the issues with purchases I reported to support (four all in all) none were resolved at all and no response by a human was received without contacting them SEVERAL times for each problem, a first reply took upwards of three working days and then it was only a useless boilerplate with no relevance to the problem described.
Ever seen a black lemon? They turn black when they rot. My N97 is black. 'nuff said

  • Problem updating ovi store and downloading whatsap...

When i try to open ovi store on my x2-01 it tells me to update it before i would be able to download it and when i try it always tells me page not found.my other problem is when i try to download any software e.g whatsapp application using my phone it tells page not found i have restore it factory setting but am still having the same problem please what should i do because i really love to use other softwares e.g whatsapp

Unfortunately that is one of the outstanding issues with the current firmware in the N8, E7 and C7. The hard reset does not reinstall Qt which is required for the apps you mentions. See this.
    /t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/N8-Maps-problem-after-hard-reset/td-p/783327
Although it is possible to reinstall Qt, the process is highly complicated and should only be atempted by expert users. My suggestion would be to either get your phone reflashed at your local Nokia Care Point or to wait for the next firmware up[date which will hopefully include a fix for this.

  • How can remove OVi store widget after update to Be...

    Hi! Everyone.
    I'm using Nokia N8.
Any one can help me remove OVi Store widget version 2.12.040 and Ovi version 1,0,21129 on my device?
I was hear and I knew "Ovi" brand has replace entirely by "Nokia" brand.
After update Belle official success, I couldn't find Ovistore widget on my device (Nokia N8) but in section "Already installed" it's still there.
Some time I was try remove them, but my device always notice " Cancelled remove".
I don't understand OVi Store widget version 2.12.040 and Ovi version 1,0,21129 has useful what on my device? Because, on Belle, we can not use OVi Store widget version 2.12.040 and Ovi version 1,0,21129.
Any one have some solutions or give to me some ways for this problem.
    Thank you.

I have the same issue and have come to the conclusion that its much better to live a peaceful life without the ovi store then to be worried about it and start hating your gorgeous e7 even more all the ovi apps are available over the internet you can download them from some other website .... unfortunately till nokia doesnt do another anna update this trouble will not be solved.... people will tell you to get your phone flashed from ncc but i think thats pathetic that you pay this much money and keep running to ncc to fkash your phone after every update, so just relax and enjoy the standard stuff and hoppe that nokia makes some magical anna update which cures it all

  • How to see an updated application on OVI Store?

    Hello,
I'd like to know if it's possible to see on OVI store when a previously download application has been updated on the store?
    Thanks

Unfortunately it is not a joined up process like the App. Store and just a marketplace for a host of developer's whom seem to add or remove applications at will.

  • Unable to open Ovi Store after updating

pls help me my ovi store has refuse to come up after udating
    Moderator's note:
We have moved your post to the appropriate board and we have edited its subject as well so that other users can easily help you.

This is a very common problem in devices like c6, e72, 5230 nd many others. The update of ovi siit is provided to yhese phones but unfortunately if the phone is not new it cannot take the load of the updated version. This problem os also sometimes followed by 'memory full close some applications' error.. This might be solved by hard reset. Just try it out..

  • Software Update, Mail and Ovi Store

    Hello,
I have Nokia C6 01 it was working okay, until now. I can use internet go in to google or the other sites etc. But I have been trying to connect Ovi Store for days and when I try to log in or even want to create a new account it says,
"Unable to complete the operation due to connection errer. Please try again later."
When I want to set up a mail box,
"Unable to connect to mail service server. Please try again later."
or when I want to check for updates,
    "Server not responding."
I tried with wifi and wap. I restored factory setting but nothing is working!!!! Please help!

    Hi ozde,
This might be an issue with the server. You may try again some other time and check if you are able to access the Nokia Store, your mailbox and SW update.

  • Ovi store not working after Anna update on N8

    Hi,
I have successfully updated my N8 firmware to Anna including all s/w updates (mandatory as well as optional) and all the updates were successful.
However, now when I try to launch Ovi store, I just see the launch screen and the app closes automatically. I have tried hard reset, manual installation of ovi store but nothing worked for me.
Did anyone face a similar problem? Any ideas to fix this problem will be highly appreciated.

    This solution worked for me:
    >3-Button Hard Reset
    NOTE:
*You will lose all data such as messages, contacts, notes, photos & videos etc., so please make a backup before you do this.
*All preinstalled applications will be removed, but after the update process you will have Quickoffice, Adobe Reader, Ovi Store, Ovi Maps, Ovi Music, Internet Radio, Shazam, Microsoft Communicator and a few others.
*You MUST have at least 75% battery.
    >SW Update:
    1. Symbian Anna 1/2
    2. Symbian Anna 2/2
    3. Ovi Store
    4. NFC with free game
    5. Social
    (restart after every install)
Mine works perfect now, Anna icons and everything (C7-00, 059B7W4).
    NOTE:
*When restoring data do not restore applications & settings as this may cause the problem to re-occur.
I hope you find this information helpful.
