Ovi suite 3.1.1.85 software update problem

Hi!
I've got a problem with software update. All the time when I want to make an update ovi displays message "A new software to manage your phone was downloaded, you must reboot your computer". I rebooted it a few times but nothing changes reinstalled ovi suit but nothing changes too. What should I do ?

I update ovi suite - nothing , I repair suite - nothing , I uninstalled ovi suite exactly as in anttih link - nothing. Ovi suite all the time wants to be rebooted when I I want to update my phones software. I rebooted PC a few time but nothings change, I all the time can read that the software was updated and I need to reboot PC. I attach a print screen but it is in polish. Any other advices ?

Nokia 6303i Software Update Problem

Hi all.
I am trying to update my 6303i software (from 06.61 to 09.83) via Ovi Suite (I tried also Nokia Software Updater) but after 4-5 minutes after the installation begins Ovi Suite says that it has lost the connection with my phone and suggest to restart my phone and continue the installation. But the story repeats again.
In that 4-5 minutes of installation the phone's display gets black (display lights are on) and the keybord is flashing every 10-15 seconds.

Sorry to hear your update issues.
-Ovi Suite:
Make sure that your phone and computer are properly connected.
Check that your USB cable is working properly.
First disconnect your phone from your computer.
Open the Windows Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’(Win7) or add/remove (WinXp+Vista)
From the list of available programs, select ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’.
Click the ‘Change’ button on the toolbar at the top toolbar.
In the set-up window that appears, click ‘Repair'. Then wait for the setup to complete.
Go to Control Panel... Right-click Nokia Ovi Suite and select "Repair".
You may need to restart your computer afterwards.
THEN Connect your phone to the computer. Wait for the driver installation to complete. Nokia Ovi Suite should now be able to connect to your phone.
If this doesn't solve the problem,
-Uninstall the following programs withAdd/Remove Programs in Control Panel (called Programs and Features in Microsoft Windows 7):
Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
Nokia Ovi Suite
PC Connectivity Solution
Then, download and install the latest version of Nokia Ovi suite at ovi.com/suite.

Nokia x6 software update Problem

Hello. I've got a problem trying to do a software update on my x6. Atm my software version is 20.0.005. In the phone it shows that it got new software to be update .. like 21.00 something. I've tryed everything i could to do that , i red similar poststs that could help me .... bah simply everything ... with reinstaling Ovi suite , repairing USP connectivite cable driver , clearing my phone's hard .... Everything .... nothing helped ... the problem continues going on and on.
SO what i mean is , When i connect my phone to the PC vie USB , everything is great the Suite shows that i got software update , downloads it , does backup. And when it starts to instal , after few seconds it shows "Connection to the phone was lost" i do not do anything ofcourse . After few more seconds "by few i mean like 5" it shows "USB connection is active" and below that in small gray letters "YOu can continue with the software instalation" . When i click the OK button belowe all that , AGAIN after 4-5 seconds shows me that my connection was lost . And that goes over and over and over, no matter what i do .
PS I did try with Nokia Software Updater ... and it doesnt even recognise my phone beeing connected . Just stays on the main page of the program that says to connect my phone and thats it.
So PLEASE help me if someone can .... cause that thing is driving my insane.

I have the same issue on my iPhone 5s
I've closed the app and re-booted the phone several times but it did not resolve the issue.
Upgrading to iOS 8.0.2 did not resolve it either.
Erasing the iPhone and restoring from a backup did not resolve it.
I'm not sure what else to do.

How to fix Software Update Problem?

I was do some update includes new 10.5.1, iTunes, QuickTime, and many more, but today I test to check new update I got blank list and I was try to do via Terminal and got this message

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. 6220 Classic: Ovi Suite Software Update problems

Hello everyone,
I am trying to update the firmware of a 6220 Classic via Ovi Suite (2.1.1.1). I connected the phone, and started the software update process. I was informed the current firmaware version is 03.23, and that version 5.15 is available. I proceeded downloading the (148mb) firmware update.
After that the update process started, and I was informed to ignore all USB connection notifications. Notifications like "Nokia Flash Parent detected" were displayed with one informing me that the driver for one of these "devices" failed to install.
I then got the "Device recovery" error, stating that Ovi Suite lost connection with my device, and presented me with 4 steps to follow to "help reconnect your device". None of this helped, and I kept on getting the same error. Now I am lost. The 5.15 update is also not available OTA. Luckily the phone was not bricked in the process, and is still working fine at version level 3.23
Any ideas on how to get Ovi Suite to install the update? My system specs: Windows XP Pro SP3 with latest fixes/updates.

I always use Ovi Suite to update 3 phone (5310, 5610, 5800), no problems so far. However once caveat on s60 phone like yours is that when problems like this occur, you could try to update without a memory card inserted. If that fails, hard reset the phone and update the blank phone (back up first before resetting of course). If that still fails, take it to a Nokia Care Center.

Ovi suite/phone can't find Software(firmware) upda...

Why is it that when the nokia site says there is an update available, ovi suite or phone says there isn't any? The old ovi said there was but it failed to download update software. This one is new version! What could be the reason?

That' wierd. Could be Nokia struggeling with their servers. Have you tried Nokia software updater as a last shot?
If not, contact Nokia by using the 'Contact us' tab and while waiting for answer check on ovi suite and your phone and NSU tomorrow.

Ovi Suite Calendar Sync Issue - crashes when updat...

Can you help me fix an Ovi Suite sync issue?
the Ovi suite will only sync when I select the time range as 3 weeks into the past (or less)
if I select 4 weeks into the past (or more) the Ovi suite crashes about 10 seconds into the sync
I'm using a Nokia C601, sync to Windows Calendar on Windows Vista
Ovi Suite Version 3.1.0.84
Device Software Version 014.002
I've tried all the obvious: uninstall / reinstall / reboot, updated to the latest version on softtware on both the phone and my PC.
I've uninstalled my previous Nokia PC Suite
I'm at a loss at to what else to try to get this working?

Could you please try this?
1. Please, check on Task Manager (press ctrl+shift+esc) if you see NokiaOviSuite.exe process twice on the process list? If yes, kill all the instances of NokiaOviSuite.exe, nokiaaserver.exe and NokiaMServer.exe. If not, a reboot should fix the issue.

2.Choose from Sync menu “Repair sync”. This operation may create duplicate entries in case the sync engine is not able match the records from different end points with each other. Also, all the deleted items which have not been removed from the other end points will be restored to the end point where the item was deleted.
or
3. Update phone software (Please take backup before going for software updates.
or
4. Atlast uninstall NOS

Nokia Suite and Nokia Software Updater problem

So I tried to synch my calendar and tasks this morning, as I usually do, from my office Windows XP laptop... and the synch failed.
The progress bar that should tell me how far along the synch has got just stayed empty.
After about ten minutes, I quit Nokia Suite, disconnected my phone, and reconnected it.
When I tried to restart Nokia Suite, I got a pop-up:
Nokia Software Updater is running
Please close Nokia Software Updater , as it stops you from opening Nokia Suite. Then, click Try again.
I looked in Task Manager, and couldn't find Nokia Software Updater...
Any ideas what I can do, other than reboot?

Sorry to hear about the situation. Please go to "Processes" sheet in Task Manager. Close the process Nokia Software Updater.
You can also go to Nokia Suite > Tools > Options > General > Automatically download software updates > Disable it. Try to sync again.
If it still fails, please tick " Nokia Suite > Tools > Options > General > Start collecting logs, in case the issue does not get resolved and you have to contact Nokia Care line and they need them.

5800 v50 software update problem

I just updated my phone to this v50 firmware as it hadn't been done in a year or so and i wanted the newer features....it installed ok according to Ovi suite but now the phone is un-useable due to the screen scolling diagonally and being offset by 10mm to the right with little or now touch screen ability..the bottom half of the screen is just speckles.
V50 is the latest available for the phone code and i've tried hard and soft resets with no joy.

Myself and 'popdown' (mentioned in the above post) have replaced ours so depending on your answer this may or may not be the reason for a wrecked screen layout! If you have was it done by yourself and was it an official 'Nokia' one or not?

Ovi Suite 3.0.0.290 - Music library problems...

Just bought a Nokia E5, looks to be a sweet phone so far...
Only, Ovi Suite is just annoying. Very slow on communicating with the phone (USB connection) and some big problems.
Impossible to delete music from the library ! How is that ?? And also the library takes ages to add a new folder.
Also, not seeing the playlist i've made on the phone ? Either on mass storage connection, in the playlist folder of the phone, nothing... But should be on a other threat.
Hope you can solve the library problem because it's quite annoying.

We get that without you plastering this message over EVERY single thread dealing with issues of that truly useless and pathetic piece of software called Ovi-Suite.
Especially since the new version DOES NOT SOLVE ANY OF THE ISSUES AT HAND IN THE THREADS YOU MASS PASTED INTO!
Ovi-Suite 3.x still no longer syncs music, which IMHO is a basic function. Who on earth wants to be forced to manually update the phone playlists and songs whenever songs are added on the PC? That is beyond backwards.
Hello? It's 2011, not 1991.
Ovi Suite 3.x still randomly refuses to add songs to the library on the PC (e.g. it skips several songs from an album folder, yet they play fine when added to the phone manually outside Ovi-Suite), an issue that can only be corrected by deleting the entire library on the PC and recreating it. A "repair library" function is notoriously absent.
I'd like a so called Smartphone to make tasks easier and more comfortable instead of harder.
Newer Nokia handsets may be slightly less bad, but the N97 with Ovi-Suite is still the smartphone/desktop combo from hell.
The fruit phone/ITunes combo is sadly restricted by the greed and desire to control everything of Apple, but at least the products work reliably and consistently for the most part. The same is true for 'Droid devices.

Well, after being advised by Vodafone Customer Service to take it to a Vodafone shop to get it fixed else they will have to take it away for repairs, so I did.
Vodafone staff says, we don't fix, but we can send it away for u.....
So, back to square one.
1. My phone has lost the bottom 2 touch icons due to a phone update
2. So, I tried using Nokia Software Update on my PC, configutation error - Darn!
3. So I use Nokia Ovi Suite - Cannot update - doubledarn!!
Anyone has a [v40.0.003] file for Nokia 5230 that I can download direct onto my PC then copy to my phone for installation?

Software update problem in Nokia C7 . Freeze and D...

I bought my Nokia C7 last March 5, 2011. Last Night, March 9,2011, I downloaded the Nokia Ovi Suite Installer to my Pc and install it to check if there are latest updates for my phone software. And yes there is. What I did was to follow the Instructions on what the Nokia Ovi Suite was sayng. After the Backing up step was done. So the next step is theInstalling part, so (120mb+) files for the installation.. So After Updating the software was finished. My Phone was restarted and I was so freaking upset cuz my phone was Frozen and Only White Screen appeared on my phone. I waited the Hand Icon to show up but it never showed up. I tried to turn it off, but my phone was not responding, so I take off the battery. So I put on again my Phone but same problem. Froze then White Screen..
Any Help?

Nokia N95 8GB software update problem

I have tried to update my phone software to V30.0.018 using software updater and nokia Ovi suite but still it won't work. The download starts saying the download is 115.7 MB long but the last time i tried it was up to 700MB and still downloading. I only have a dongle for connecting to the internet using windows7. I recently updated the software on my sony ericsson satio and it only took 15mins so why is this update not working for me ?

Once installed connect your phone to your pc using the if my memory serves me right the DKE-2 usb cable and use PC Suite to check for and install any available updates.
