Ovi suite fails to detect my phone [C6-01]

Hello there,
When i connect my phone to pc (ovi suite mode selected in phone) ovi suite isn't detecting the phone. But the same phone when connected to my friends pc it gets detected.
I have tried installing different versions of ovi suite but leading to the same results. I don't know what is the problem.

Hi,
Please check:
Phone time and date is properly set
SIM card in phone
Free memory available in phone's C: drive
If you have a separate  Nokia Software Updater application in use,  download the latest Nokia SW Updater and install.
If it does not help:
-Go to Program and Features or Add remove in Control Panel
- Click Nokia Ovi Suite
- Click Uninstall
Uninstall also:
- Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
- PC connectivity Solution
Then restart computer.
- Download and install latest Nokia Ovi Suite
http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-ovi-suite/compatibility-and-download
- Restart Computer again
- Connect the device, do not open Nokia Ovi Suite and wait for all the driver to be loaded by windows.
- Once done then launch Nokia Ovi Suite.
- Check for the issue

  • Ovi Suite doesn't detect Phone

    Well I have N97
    Used to have problem 'USB phone parent' driver couldnt be instaled - Just done PC suite cleaner and fixed that problem.
    Now its installed driver wise, so 'My computer' sees N97, and phone says its in PC suite mode BUT
    Ovi suite doesn't detect it. I tried 'add new device' it still didnt find it.
    I can browse it fine through my computer.
    And before you say - yes phone is in PC suite mode.
    I also just did hard reset of phone

    Please follow the steps provided below and check.
    Uninstall the following from add/remove
    - Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Nokia Connecting cable driver
    - PC Connectivity Solution
    Then go to device manager ( Right Click My Computer-Manage) then ports- Uninstall all the ports which is by name nokia (
    there might be multiple entries, but remove them), but please dont remove any other from there which might lead to
    malfunction.
    - go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache and remove all the sub folders inside that.
    For windows vista and windows 7 it will be C:/Program Data/OviInstallerCache
    - Restart Computer
    - Download and install ovi suite
    - Restart computer
    - Then connnect the device and wait till all the drivers are downloaded.
    - Then launch Ovi Suite connect the device.
    This has solved the issue in many cases.

    I have to connect my C6 to Ovi Suite but why is it that Ovi can't detect it? I connected my phone by the use of both USB and Bluetooth, and both won't work. Help please :-( Thanks!

    I had this issue as well, but I performed a repair of Nokia Connectivity cable driver and then it started working fine.
    1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
    2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
    3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
    4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
    5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
    6. Restart the computer if prompted.
    7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and Ovi suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.

  • Nokia N8: SW Update app or Ovi Suite won't detect ...

    I've seen about the brand new camera mega update and I want to get it on my Nokia N8. But neither the SW update app on my N8 nor Nokia Ovi Suite detect this update. I tried but they both say "all apps up to date" / "No updates available."
    Please help me with this

    The camera update is not detected by ovi suite or sw. update on the phone just because it is not an update. It is a beta app that if you want you can install by downloading it by yourself from here:

  • C7 Connection to OVI suite fail

    Still having problems connecting C7 to Ovi Suite. No way to update software. None of sollutions on support discussions helped. After plugging in USB cable Suite fails to recognise C7 device. After plugging USB cable, PC registers C7 under device manager. Suite launches but fail to recognise C7. Keeps on asking to connect phone. Windows 7, 64 bit. Suite ver.: 3.4.41. Phone software 022.014.269.06

    Could you please submit an error report first of all. Then if you have not tried yet, you could download the beta version of Nokia Suite 3.4.48. Could you also please link to the thread(s) in which you have received troubleshooting, so we know what you have already tried.

  • PC Suite does not detect my phone

    Hi,
    I am having problems connecting my phone to my PC using Nokia PC Suite, when I try it does not detect the phone at all.
    Technical bit:
    I am using Windows XP sp2
    Cable connection DKU-2
    Phone Nokia 6070 from Tesco
    PC Suite latest on the web site.
    Please can some one help this is driving me up the wall

  • Ovi Suite fails updating E7-00 for Anna 1/2 and An...

    I’ve bought an E7 and immediately updated to Anna. For some reason, Quickoffice disappeared. I searched the forums and I found that the Anna I installed is in fact 1 out of 3 updates and that there are two other updates named 1/2 and 2/2 that will bring back Quickoffice. I requested the Ovi Suite to look for new updates and it could not find any. I looked again in the forums and I found a chap who suggested changing the device date to 31/8/2011. I changed the date, went to Tools/Software Update and then, Ovi found updates. I then tried to download both Anna 1/2 and 2/2 but after some twenty seconds of apparently good download speed, the download stopped and I got the following message :
    « Something’s gone wrong
    There’s a problem with installing : Symbian Anna update 1/2 and Symbian Anna update 2/2. There was a problem with downloading the application. Please go to tools > Software updates and start the download  again. »
    I retried an untold number of times and again, the same message, as above.
    At some point the software update could not  find updates anymore. So I reinstalled Anna and only then (with my device date still on August 31 2011) Ovi Suite found the updates. I retried to install them and then, exactly as above, the same message (« Something’s gone wrong etc… »)
    OK I don’t have a great internet connection but I donwload without problem huge iPhone and other updates. What should I do if anything at all ? By the way, I live in Beirut, Lebanon.

  • OVI suite won't connect any phone

    I'm having a regular issue with OVI suite; it won't recognise any phone connected to the PC!
    When this happens, which is quite often, the PC recognises a device being attached (the usual USB jingle), the phone recognises the connection, even OVI Player recognises the phone just fine; but OVI suite won't. Connect new phone picks up nothing.
    It happened with my old N85 and does with my new C7. I now have version 3.1.0.86 but it happened with previous versions too.
    The only way I've found to "wake it up" is to repair the installation in Wondows control panel, it then works fine. In fact I just updated to veriosn 86 today but that new installation didn't work till after I'd repaired it!
    I have XP SP3 installed.
    I realise this could be a PC issue not an OVI suite one but how come OVI player works fine so I can load music etc?
    Any ideas anyone please? Repeated "repairs" are getting annoying!!

  • Ovi Suite: Managing albums on the phone

    Hi all,
    Anyone out there know if there's a way to manage your (picture) albums on the phone via Ovi Suite?  My main goal is to get folders/albums that I already have on my computer onto my phone into an album/folder with the same name (e.g. 2010 Birthday Party).
    The albums can be created on Ovi Suite, but I don't see any way to transfer them to the phone.  (I can send all the individual pictures to the phone, but then I'll be stuck w/100s of pictures and no way to organize them w/o going to each one manually and assigning it to an album created on the phone).
    Any ideas guys?  If there's even a way to do it in Explorer I'd be open to that too

    I Have the same issue I was on the phone with Apple care for 2 hours the give some advice but it didn't help I have lost more than 200 photo due to this issue and my iPad is really slow and am not able to send any photo to my family though what's app or viber cos YA don't get camera album or ect you only get recently added this need to be fix

  • OVI Suite Doesn't Sync Car Phone and Pager Fields

    Hi,
     I'm very very disappointed with this new suite, but I had to start using it as Nokia PC Suite doesn't work with x64 version of Windows.
     Now, I'm facing this annoying issue. Fields such as "Car Phone" or Pager never get synchronized to my E90 device. Even when I'm creating a new entry on the device it doesn't sync to my OVI or Outlook!!
     It looks like if the OVI suite doesn't recognized these fields at all!!!!!!
    Any suggestions?????

    This is OVI and Nokia style of ignorance. I have sent them several request last months, no reply at all.
    They don't batter about this issue at all. I have the same problem on my N8 and from what  I can see, Nokia has forgotten to implement Carphone in Nokia Suite, which I expect to be an easy task for them to solve.
    Where is a responsible Nokia manager?

  • Ovi Suite fails to copy videos to C7

    Hi, i have a C7 and i am having problems copying videos to the phone using Ovi Suite. I copied about 6 videos without problems and then it stopped working properly. After dragging a video to the phone it started out as usual - that is the program said - transcoding, downloading, do not disconnect your phone and after a short while said - downloading, do not disconnect your phone but the indicator bar never progressed and the program continued as such until finally i cancelled the download. If anybody has any ideas i would be grateful to hear them. I am using version 3.0.0.290

    When copying photos or videos to your device, make sure that you are using the memory location with the most available space. To check or change the preferred memory location select Tools  Options and go to the My Devices view.

  • Ovi suite fails to install on 32 bit vista pro

    when i try to install ovi suite on a 32 bit vista pro i get the error message: "there is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. contact your support personnel or package vendor."
    any one any ideas as to what this program is that will not run. i am logged in as an administrator.

    Did you turn off antivirus during install? Try the latest PC Suite as well.
