Ovi Suite Installation Error (Error Code 2)
Hi I was using old OVI suite(ver: 2.x.x.x.);
yesterday I downloaded the latest version of ovi suite (3.0.0.290).
But when I m trying to install it exits with saying error code 2 what it is ????
I already removed my old ovi suite ...
I want some help on thisHello,
Could you check that the 3.0.0.290 installation file has not been corrupted during the download? This can be done by right clicking the Nokia_Ovi_Suite_webinstaller_ALL.exe. Then from the Properties -> Digital Sigantures (tab) you should be able to see Nokia signature. Select that and then push the Details button and you should see a new dialog and there the text "This digital signature is OK." if the file is valid. If you can get find the signature, the file has got corrupted and you should try to download the latest version again from here.

For some reason Ovi Suite on my PC (runnning Windows 7) got corrupted and I couldn't repair it, so I downloaded the Ovi Suite installer and tried to install it, and the installation failed with a message
"There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program required for this install could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".
Solved!
Go to Solution.the problem is a Windows error, which involves a number of steps to fix
This is what finally resolved the problem:
1. Download and install 7-Zip application (or other Zip app)
2. Use 7-Zip to extract the contents of NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_en.exe into a folder on your computer.
3. Inside that folder, locate the file Packages\NokiaSoftwareUpdater\Setup\NokiaSoftwareUpdater.msi
4. Double-click on that file to start the installation.
If the issue is still present, please try the following steps:
1. Make sure you have administrator rights on the machine
2. Open Registry (Start->Run->type regedit in Open field and click Ok)
3. Take a back up of the registry (Highlight My computer->File->Export)
4. Navigate to HK_CURRENT_USER\Software/PCSuite and delete the complete folder
5. Navigate to HK_CURRENT_USER\Software/Nokia and delete the complete folder
6. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/PCSuite and delete the complete folder
7. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Nokia and delete the complete folder
8. Uninstall Nokia PC Suite

1328 Error applying patch to [filename].
A file has changed or is missing. Uninstall and reinstall the program.
I have tried this solution twice and it did not resolve the issue.Anand8502
Hi,
I have tried all of your suggestions but I still have the issue with Error 1328 and the following message:
“Error applying patch to file D:\Config.Msi\PT78AF.tmp. It has probably been updated by other means and no longer can it be modified by this patch”. The Patch seems to update other files successfully, so is this an issue if this does not update this file and as previously stated I cannot find the file that it refers to on either drives (C:\ or D:\).
Cheers

Ovi Suite installation fails: something's gone wro...
Ovi suite installation fails: "Something's gone wrong. Nokia Ovi Suite Installation requires that PC Connectivity Solution 7.0.0.0 or later is installed before you can continue." I tried all possible options; removing all related items, drivers, registry entries. Nothing helps. No decent logging. Where can I find this PC Connectivity Solution? No decent help. Complete lack of information. After failure, lots of items are still installed and remain. No decent rollback. Windows installer cleanup is no longer available from Microsoft due to issues. So I'm stuck with an invalid piece of installed software. Just tried the third time I'm giving up. Spent the whole day on this. Has this been tested properly anyway on Windows 7 32 bits? The message in itself "something's gone wrong" does not really give me any hope on this. Please provide a solution.
Solved!

Ovi Suite Installer Hangs on Windows XP SP3
Hi,
I'm getting really frustrated trying to Install the Ovi Suite Installer 2.2.0.241 on my Thinkpad T400. I still have about 8G free, but the installer hangs at about 50%. I have tried to install numerous times, with and without restarting the machine., but get the same unsuccessful results. For now I have to do with the Nokia PC Suite which was successfully installed, but I really look forward to using the OVI.
I just purchased a Nokia N97 mini after having spent 5 years on Windows Mobile due to hardward and software issues. I hope I did not make another mistake by moving back to Symbian! Even when I cancel the installation, it still hangs. Help please.
Thanks.

every time i run an update for the PC suite software or OVI suite i get an error that prevents the process from complete itself; here's the message i get:
Module C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Codecs\EmzMP3SourceFilter.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147467259. Contact your support personnel.
Any ideas?
I'd like to thank you all in advance for your interest.
DanHi,
Seems the installation may not be successful, can you try this?
Do have backup of your phone data & PC registries then Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia flashing cable driver(if any on your PC), Run PC Suite cleaner and reliable PC cleaner. Install latest Nokia PC Suite from www.europe.nokia.com/pcsuite, reboot your pc. Once pc started, connect your phone with USB in different ports of your PC and check
Also you can try Nokia OVI Suite 2.0.2.42 too www.europe.nokia.com/ovisuite -

Hi, I just got a new 7020 phone which came with an usb cable but no applications disk. I downloaded the latest ovi pc suite and tried to install it. After a bit it's installing I always receive a generic 1622 error and the installer quits. Stopped the avast antivirus and tried reinstalling, still no success. Any clue? The computer is an acer laptop with a centrino processor, 512mb ram and windows xp sp3.

Am trying to upgrade a 11.5.10 instance to R12 and while trying to apply patch 6435000, am getting stuck at the stage where worker is executing job jtf_diag_dependencies.xdf. Worker log indicates the system is unable to get a connection to db. The service name being used is actually the sid, but don't understand where the system is picking this up from.
Have verifed the context file and env files to ensure that the service name and sid are specified appropriately (hrtc and hrtc1 respectively).
Any pointers on where to look next greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
VijayHi,
The error is, as you see, the inability to get a connection. The problem is that I don't understand why the service name is listed with the sid instead of the service name in the connection string. The listing a few lines above the error does indicate the service name (hrtc) and instance name (hrtc1) correctly. Where is this information being picked up from? I have reviewed the context file and environment files. The sid and service name are correctly listed in these files.
Any pointers?
Thanks,
Vijay
