Ovi Suite Intsallation failed

Hi,
I cannot install the Ovi Suite application, I an error message.
I have OS Win 7 (32 bit).
I changed the compatibility of the Ovi Suite.exe (Win XP PAck2) and ran it as Administrator but I still have the same error message.
Can anyone help me??

Try to check if you are using the latest OVI suite. You might be using the CD that goes with the phone upon buying it. Try to install the latest software found in this link:

Ovi suite installation fails: "Something's gone wrong. Nokia Ovi Suite Installation requires that PC Connectivity Solution 7.0.0.0 or later is installed before you can continue." I tried all possible options; removing all related items, drivers, registry entries. Nothing helps. No decent logging. Where can I find this PC Connectivity Solution? No decent help. Complete lack of information. After failure, lots of items are still installed and remain. No decent rollback. Windows installer cleanup is no longer available from Microsoft due to issues. So I'm stuck with an invalid piece of installed software. Just tried the third time I'm giving up. Spent the whole day on this. Has this been tested properly anyway on Windows 7 32 bits? The message in itself "something's gone wrong" does not really give me any hope on this. Please provide a solution.

Ovi Suite update fails

Hi, Ovi Suite started to prompt me to update to the latest version recently.
The installation runs, but fails with the error:
"Installer: The older version of Ovi Desktop Sync Engine cannot be removed. Contact your rechnical support group."
I've since uninstall all the Nokia/Ovi apps via Windows Add/Remove and tried installing again but get the same error.
After uninstalling everything from Add/Remove, All entries in the Start Menu are removed, but I can see in Program Files there is still a "Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite\NokiaOviSuite.exe" which I can run. The Help-->About info shows me this version info:

When I try to install the new version, I can see new versions of "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" and "PC Connectivity Solution" are listed in Windows Add/Remove Programs list.
Any suggestions on how to cleanly remove the existing version so i can install the newest version will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have heard this problem before. Can you try following instructions:
You can try to run repair and then uninstall Ovi Suite. If it
uninstalls then installing new Ovi Suite should also be possible.
If this doesn't help you have to download Windows Installer CleanUp
Utility. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

First clean Ovi Desktop Sync Engine with this utility and then try to
install Ovi Suite again. You may need to clean some other msi entries
too. Hopefully this helps.

Ovi Suite doesn't have an application installer?

when i used the PC Suite, i could double click a sis or jar file on my pc and if my phone was connected via bluetooth, the installer was automatically transfered to the phone and the installation started. since i installed the new ovi suite this behaviour is missing?! is this feature coming later?

If you mean by the new Ovi Suite i.e Ovi Suite 2 then yes there is no app installer, I installed it a couple of hours ago, it's sleek and nice but then I realized that it didn't have the app installer so I downgraded to my previous Ovi. It's a beta version so may be they'll include it later, I have no idea, but without the app installer Ovi Suite = Epic Fail

OVI Suite falis to Load after I formatted my memor...

Hi Pals,
Recently I bought a 5800 Nokia. Initially was very happy. But now trust me I have started to hate this phone.
Its giving me so many new probs day by day.
One of the prob is :
I formatted the Memory Card in Phone, and nw if I connect to PC, and try opening OVI suite, It fails to open giving some object exception stuff
I dono what the hell is wrong. Any body wiht the same situation???

To be frank i dont have this mobile with me to check this issue So what you can do is type *#0000# on your phone and also, if you say you are getting error message when connecting your pc, goto Eventviewer log on your pc, if you are using XP, goto Start - Run - type Eventvwr - Application - Look for Error Warning on your pc, you may get some error list, you can copy paste that in this forum, our discussion forums experts may shed some light on your issue

Connection fails between N97 mini and Ovi Suite

Hi,
I have had many kind of problems connecting my N97 mini with my laptop but have finally hitted the edge in this issue and didn't find an answer existing here.
When I updated my Ovi Suite to the latest version the connection to my N97 mini was cutted off. This was maybe two weeks ago and I haven't been able to connect the phone to the laptop with PC suite connection form ever since (and no further updates available). I can sure connect with the Ovi Music in other connection forms and store the music to my phone but any connections with the Ovi Suite fails. There for I cannot sync my photoes or address book or get the new updates by my computer. What could I do to get the connection back? Install an older version again? Where to get one?
Today I checked the program updates with my phone application and there is software version 12.0.110 available to upload. Well, my phone does offer for other updates to "start to update" but this one gives only option to "update via computer" (sorry I don't know the exact terms for the option written in the quotes since I use my Nokia in Finnish ). How could I get the updates to my phone via computer when I cannot connect with the Ovi Suite anymore??
I really hope anyone have had the same problem (it's really irritating) and still hopefully wait for some answers...

Unfortunately there is no easy solution to this one as it is probably de to the installation of the Ovi Suite update on your laptop.
The first thing you could try is to uninstall and reinstall Ovi Suite. You could also try using the PCsuite cleaner which should ensure that the previous installation is properly removed before reinstalling.

Failed to update Ovi Suite 2.2.1.23 to 3.0.0.284

I have Ovi Suite 2.2.1.23 installed on my workstation. Today I noticed that there is update available and tried to install it using current Ovi suite version. New package was donwloaded succesfully but when Ovi suite started to install the new version I got this error message:
"Unknown signature - Installation could not be started. The installation package has an unknown signature which has not been verified by Nokia. Try again later.".

I just noticed that there is a documented "Known issue" for a very similar problem (unfortunately, it is hard to find unless you already know what the solution is, and search for the right keyword). The description sounds unrelated, but the root cause is very similar:

Quoting: "With Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0 there is currently a known problem with expired certificates that can potentially prevent OVI account sign-in.
As a workaround you can remove the problematic certificates manually: Go to Internet Explorer-Tools-Internet Options-Content-Certificates-Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Delete all GTE CyberTrust certificates whose expiration date has passed. You should be left with one GTE certificate that is valid."
The issue with failing to install the update is very similar, but most likely related to an expired Verisign certificate. So it should go away if you also delete outdated Verisign certificates from your root cert store.
Alternatively, you can also locate the downloaded "webupdate" EXE in the \temp folder and launch it manually.

C7 Connection to OVI suite fail

Still having problems connecting C7 to Ovi Suite. No way to update software. None of sollutions on support discussions helped. After plugging in USB cable Suite fails to recognise C7 device. After plugging USB cable, PC registers C7 under device manager. Suite launches but fail to recognise C7. Keeps on asking to connect phone. Windows 7, 64 bit. Suite ver.: 3.4.41. Phone software 022.014.269.06

Could you please submit an error report first of all. Then if you have not tried yet, you could download the beta version of Nokia Suite 3.4.48. Could you also please link to the thread(s) in which you have received troubleshooting, so we know what you have already tried.

OVI Suite "Creating the Contact Failed"

Hi everyone!
I'm having some issues with the OVI suite when I try to create a contact and sync it with my phone. (Nokia 6720 Classic).
I can view the contacts on the device, but when I try to sync, copy or create a new contact on the computer it gives me an error saying "Creating the Contact Failed". Does anyone have a workaround this or having the same problems?

Ovi Suite download.msi corrupt CRC failed

Ovi suite was working fine on my PC XP with N82.
A few days ago the Ovi Suite toolbar Spanner,Tools icon stopped displaying tools and now just displays Nokia Download!.
When I select Nokia Download! it starts and then in notifications it shows that there is a new version of Nokia Download! to download. When I select this I get a message that Some installation files are corrupt. There is a CRC failed error
on Nokia Download.msi
Why is there a CRC error ?
Why has the previous Tools functionality gone ?

Ovi suite fails to install on 32 bit vista pro

when i try to install ovi suite on a 32 bit vista pro i get the error message: "there is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. contact your support personnel or package vendor."
any one any ideas as to what this program is that will not run. i am logged in as an administrator.

Did you turn off antivirus during install? Try the latest PC Suite as well.

OVI Suite 3.1.1.78 : N8 fails to sync/connect

Hi,
Since i upgraded OVISuite to 3.1.1.78 my N8 cannot connect to it.
That's strange because OVI suite is able to read phone detail (version from the phone R1.2, and space on memory). But when i clic on contact/Photo/Maps... it always say to set my phone on USB OVI suite mode.
The problem is that is already set on that mode.
I have already restart my phone.

Ovi Suite 3.1.0.91 fails to sync recurrent events ...

Just installed Ovi Suite 3.1.0.91 and tried to sync and this software still shifts every annual recurrent event back a day on syncing with MS Outlook 2007.
PC Suite 7.1.60.0 correctly syncs annual appointments.
I think this has been a problem with Ovi Suite from the begining.
(Phone is a Nokia E71-2 501.21.001)

Ovi Suite fails updating E7-00 for Anna 1/2 and An...

I’ve bought an E7 and immediately updated to Anna. For some reason, Quickoffice disappeared. I searched the forums and I found that the Anna I installed is in fact 1 out of 3 updates and that there are two other updates named 1/2 and 2/2 that will bring back Quickoffice. I requested the Ovi Suite to look for new updates and it could not find any. I looked again in the forums and I found a chap who suggested changing the device date to 31/8/2011. I changed the date, went to Tools/Software Update and then, Ovi found updates. I then tried to download both Anna 1/2 and 2/2 but after some twenty seconds of apparently good download speed, the download stopped and I got the following message :
« Something’s gone wrong
There’s a problem with installing : Symbian Anna update 1/2 and Symbian Anna update 2/2. There was a problem with downloading the application. Please go to tools > Software updates and start the download again. »
I retried an untold number of times and again, the same message, as above.
At some point the software update could not find updates anymore. So I reinstalled Anna and only then (with my device date still on August 31 2011) Ovi Suite found the updates. I retried to install them and then, exactly as above, the same message (« Something’s gone wrong etc… »)
OK I don’t have a great internet connection but I donwload without problem huge iPhone and other updates. What should I do if anything at all ? By the way, I live in Beirut, Lebanon.

Nokia Ovi Suite software upgrade fails

I have a Nokia 5230 but my problem is yesterday when I tried to connect my laptop to the internet through my phone using Nokia's Ovi Suite. A message DEMANDED that I first upgrade my Ovi Suite software, which obviously I could not do as I could then not connect to the internet. When I got connected through an ADSL line, the upgrade is continually unsuccesful. Message reads I may not be on the internet - clearly false - and then check my firewall settings. I have turned my firewall OFF and I get the same message. Any advice?

Hunchback: frankly it's a little more than an annoyance, it's an audacity! I started up Ovi suite to quickly download some photos I urgently needed for a presentation to find that Nokia had hacked into my computer and made software I installed and depended on unusable. I'm not sure what the legal situation is but it is certainly very bad business practice to force an update on your customers. The update has been running for 20 minutes on my PC now and is obviously hanging. I will set up my firewall to prevent any further communication between my PC and Nokia's websites as I can not have you alter software on my PC unauthorized. Frankly I'm shocked that you have that kind of access to my machine.
