Ovi suite & nokia 6136

All I want to do is to download games from the web to my phone,  I have a data cable but I can see how to use it to download games or should I do it some other way
Any help appreciated

1. You may download the Games using the phones browser if you have an active data plan..
2. Am not sure about this but you may try..( as I am not very conversant with S40 devices..)
a.) Download the game to your PC ( Confirm that its compatible with your Phone )
b.) Download and install the PC suite on to your PC from            http://www.nokia.co.in/support/download-software/nokia-pc-suites
c.) Connect you phone to PC using the USB Cable
d.) Open PC Suite and goto File-->Install applications
e.) In the Left side window.. go browsing till you see the downloaded application (Game)
f.) Select the application and click --> between 2 windows
g.) Follow instructions on your phone screen..( Select Memory card when prompted
        to select destination..

Nokia PC Suite - Ovi Suite - Nokia Suite.
What are the differences between these software suites?

The earlier means of communication between your Phone and the PC is the PC Suite. Then came the OVI Suite which was later renamed as Nokia Suite. Though cont. improvements are in process, many users still think the PC Suite to be more stable, more user friendly and more feature filled...

  • Contacts list edits through Ovi Suite, Nokia 5230 ...

After I imported the contacts from the SIM card to the Nokia 5230 phone memory. All the names appear as Last name. I want to change this globally without having to go to each address and copy pasting the contents. If the address book were able to be imported to a .csv format, then I could just use Excel to do this manipulation. Does anyone know whether such thing can be achieved through the Ovi Suite. I tried to address this at the Nokia care. They seemed to be from Mars.
Also the contacts search in the Nokia 5230 does not follow common logic. Despite setting to show names by the first name it still shows by whatever it thinks. I have shown this to the Nokia care at Abu Dhabi where they told me that it shows the same in the phone that they have too!

Download and install the Nokia PC Suite..

  • Ovi suite, Nokia Software Updater and my Nokia 573...

I have a nokia 5730 xpress music. I was trying to update its software via my device, but everytime i was trying to download the software i had ''connection error'' message while the internet connection was ok. Then i tried to update my nokia via ovi suite. Same problems. A message was coming that i have no internet connection but my internet connection was working. Later i tried nokia software updater. Everytime i try to open the program it says "sorry, the nokia Software Updater service is currently unavailable. Please try again later." I would be very glad if anyone could help me with this.

  • OVI Suite - Nokia shooting themselves in the foot ...

I've been using PC Suite for quite some time, as I'm responsible for updates and general maintenance for the users where I work. PC Suite has been working like a charm, easy to use, easy to update. Even some of our senior users have been installing it themselves with ease.
So.. when OVI suite came along, I considered this to be at least as easy and fast to use as PC Suite. But no.
First of all they demand your create a OVI suite account, which is annoying. Extreme lag, phones crashing when connecting, the computer crashing when connecting phones (yes, newer models), backups and restore not working properly (hangs) And if you want to install a program via OVI Suite, you have to go via the internet?? Sending a download link to your phone takes forever..if it makes it to the phone at all..what is Nokia doing here?
This is a serious blow for our part. 90% of our users have Nokia, but I'm not sure whether this will continue in the future..too much hassle with OVI suite. I might encourage them to go for other phones unless OVI suite improves...soon!

I agree, ovi suite is horrible. Installed and uninstalled 2 different versions over the past few months and gone back to pc suite.
Ovi is far too unstable and isn't any easier to use. Infact for what I need to do ovi as a lot more difficult!
The GUI is a laugh and yes I agree it constantly falls over and locks up when doing things.
I tried to update a hundred contacts via USB and it fell over a number of times, went back to PC suite and it does it flawlessly.
If you have PC Suite I urge you NOT to upgrade unless you absolutely have to!!!!!

  • N86 noted detected by OVI Suite, Nokia Music, Noki...

I bought a N86 8MP 3 days back and the package came with OVI Suite DVD. This DVD installed the below software on my PC:
    Nokia Ovi Suite 1.1.243
    Nokia Photos v 1.6.103
    Nokia Music v 1.1.11203.00
My PC satisfies the system requirements for OVI Suite and runs Windows XP SP3.
While OVI Suite seems to detect the phone & displays the Memory status, the Nokia Photos & Nokia Music do not even detect the phone.
I also found that OVI Suite compatibility page on Nokia website not listing N86 8MP as compatible phone... Is that true?
If that is true, why is OVI Suite DVD bundled with N86 8MP Package?
What should I do to resolve so that I can start transferring contents between PC & N86?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Shankar

Thanks Cricfancy -- Your response helped... Tried with the latest download of both OVI Suite 2.0 as well as PC Suite 7.1.
The Phone is getting detected properly and so the basic issue seem to be resolved.
The next issue I now have is:
Issue#1: I tried "Copy to Device" option in OVI Suite 2.0's Nokia Music module to copy few MP3s from my PC onto my N86 Phone but it keeps giving an error as "could not be transferred".
I have tried this using both PC Suite USB mode as well as Media Transfer USB mode.
Other details are same as available on the initial post -- I have Win XP SP3 as OS.
Does Nokia Music require specific media file format to transfer from PC to Phone?
Does MP3 files need to be converted?
Issue#2: I used Mass Storage USB option and copied these MP3 files onto the Music directory onto the 8GB memory.
On the N86 phone, I'm able to use "Applications" ==> "Office" ==> "File Mgr" ==> "Mass Memory" ==> Navigate to Music folder ==> Open the specific MP3 and play.
But now I need to physically navigate thru the above path and select each media file individually -- can't get them playing one after another or access thru the Music Player !
How do I configure these media files within Music folder to be accessible from the Music Player within N86 phone?
    Is that not possible?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Shankar

  • Ovi Suite + Nokia C-5 sucks

**bleep** is this? i can't do anything with this stupid program? why don't they let the pc suite? I can't connect to internet, i can't browse the content of phone.. (only in transfer data mode) it's fkin annoying. I just like my old 6120c + pc suite then this **bleep**.

Don't worry you're not the only one. I have paid €170 for a small GPS when I thought I was buying a good business phone to read my e-mail. I have Nokia PC Suite installed on my PC and it works perfectly well with the Nokia 5130 (a little gem for the price). When I plug in the C5, PC Suite recognises it but doesn't work, saying I have to install software. Even the helpdesk in my office cannot make it work (they have admin rights).
The 16M colours are a disppointment with everything white on back going back to the Middle Ages. My 162.000 colours on my 5130 are much better.
Outlook appears in French on the C5 and text in a window doesn't wrap but runs off the screen. While on the 5130 Outlook is in English & text opens in a full-screen window.
So for 0,2cm extra I have even more difficulty reading e-mails!
Very disappointing - this is about my 10th Nokia so maybe I'll return to Ericsson which was the 1st phone I used. For neary €200 it really is a rip-off. The 5130 is much much better.
If however you want a good keyboard and GPS then the C5 is good but would be even better at half the price for just phone+GPS. Having said that DO NOT get the 2710 which is smart looking but has an awful GPS which doesn't even work properly and has such a basic display. Advertised as a Navigation phone, I must say the extra for a C5 is worth it.

  • Ovi Suite / Nokia Photos Tag editing

I added a tag to 788 photos. That was easy :-)
Now comes the hard part, figuring out how to remove the tag for all these files in one go, as I did a typo.
I can figure out how to select them all and add new tags but I can't figure how how to delete a tag on all files without opening each individual file.
    Any suggestions?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    D'oh!
It's actually quite simple to remove the tags:
    Select the files:
Edit / batch Edit / Content or Location Tags
Remove the tag you don't like
    Ok
My problem was I had selected one file that I had manually removed the tag from, so the wrong tag did not appear as a common tag to remove anymore :-)

HELP why cant i update my phone via usb through the nokia ovi suite+ nokia suite........help me please.
nokia e7-00 is my first ever nokia phone

I had this problem too with Ovi suite & the new Nokia suite, reinstalled several times with no luck, failed to realise that I had to also uninstally other Nokia software too like Nokia connectivity cable driver.
You could try uninstalling these in this order & then reinstalling Ovi/Nokia suite to see if that fixes your problem:
Nokia connectivity cable driver,  PC connectivity solution, Windows driver package - Nokia pccsmcfd, Ovi/Nokia suite.

  • HELP: Nokia Ovi Suite not syncing specific MS Offi...

Hi. I've searched the discussions and couldn't find anything matching this specific problem.
Nokia Ovi Suite is not syncing certain MS Outlook calendar items properly.
N.O.S. pushes reoccouring calendar items (ie: birthdays & anniversaries) plus all reoccouring tasks forward by one day (on both my desktop and phone).  Other appointments are not changed.
Has anybody else come across this problem and found a fix?  I'd hate to abandon using the calendar on my phone, or abandon the phone all together.
    My details are as follows:
Phone: Nokia E7-00 (USA version) with software release PR1.1, custom version 014.002.282.04, product code 059F6L7
    Nokia Ovi Suite: version 3.1.1.90
    Desktop: Windows 7 Ultimate 64b
    MS Office 2007 Ultimate 32b
    Sync connection via USB
I hope someone is able to provide a solution.  Is a Nokia support person able to respond?

    Hi,
We would like to investigate this issue.
Since we were not able to reproduce this error, we would like to have the debug logs.
These can be created by following the steps:-
For [phone imei] included in sync, open fileC:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Nokia\Intellisync\[phone imei]\Configuration\iloptcfg.cfg
    with Notepad and change:
    TifLog=0 to TifLog=200
    TranslatorLogVerbosity=0 to TranslatorLogVerbosity=200
    LevelAll=Yes
    DumpRecords=Yes
Exit Ovi Suite if it is running and Start Ovi Suite.
    Run synchronization.
Attach Logs from 3 different areas to error report: 1) Nokia Connector logs, 2) Configuration folder and 3) Nokia Data store.
     1) Nokia Connector Logs: Zip the contents of
        C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Nokia Ovi Suite\Nokia Connector\
      2) Configuration Folder: For each [phone imei] included in sync, zip the contents of
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Nokia\Intellisync\[phone imei]\Configuration\ and attach it to the report.
    3) Nokia Data Store: Zip the contents of
       C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store
Please could you provide us with these logs which can lead us to a proper solution.
    Thanks,
    Sagar

  • Ovi Suite sync issues

My N95 and PC Suite sync'ed perfectly, then came Ovi. What a pain, however I got used to it.
In the last week I have installed the latest bug fix for Ovi Suite. Now my phone will not sync. Ovi suite sees the phone, and I can message etc from my PC keyboard, but Ovi suite just sits inert when asked to sync. It shows in the various boxes "waiting to sync" but just does nothing and frquently hangs.
    Any solution?

    Hi All,
Please read my post in following link for a workaround to this sync issue.

  • Ovi Suite doesn't detect Phone

    Well I have N97
Used to have problem 'USB phone parent' driver couldnt be instaled - Just done PC suite cleaner and fixed that problem.
Now its installed driver wise, so 'My computer' sees N97, and phone says its in PC suite mode BUT
Ovi suite doesn't detect it. I tried 'add new device' it still didnt find it.
I can browse it fine through my computer.
And before you say - yes phone is in PC suite mode.
I also just did hard reset of phone

Please follow the steps provided below and check.
    Uninstall the following from add/remove
    - Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Nokia Connecting cable driver
    - PC Connectivity Solution
Then go to device manager ( Right Click My Computer-Manage) then ports- Uninstall all the ports which is by name nokia (
there might be multiple entries, but remove them), but please dont remove any other from there which might lead to
    malfunction.
    - go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache and remove all the sub folders inside that.
For windows vista and windows 7 it will be C:/Program Data/OviInstallerCache
    - Restart Computer
    - Download and install ovi suite
    - Restart computer
    - Then connnect the device and wait till all the drivers are downloaded.
    - Then launch Ovi Suite connect the device.
This has solved the issue in many cases.
    Hopefully this works.

  • Ovi Suite version 2.2.0.245 Error 83930001

When syncing my Nokia Ovi Suite version 2.2.0.245 I get an error 83930001 when it is in the process of syncing my calendar and tasks. Everything else syncs properly except for my calendar and tasks function. This was not a problem before, it has only started recently. My phone is a Nokia N97

    Hi Angsta,
You could try updating to the latest version 2.2.1.23 either thru' software updates from OVi suite or manually downloading it from www.ovi.com/suite
But before doing tat keep in mind tat the latest version has a sync issue, but have a temperory workaround as well. Go thru my post in the below link for the workaround.

I hope syncing someway is better than getting an error and not able to sync.

  • Help me !! Ovi Suite 2.2.0.241 can neither be inst...

The upgrad of the OVI suite 2.1 to version 0.241 caused a Vista installation and
a win7 installation to run in problems to recognize a nokia 5800.
After the update: neither the ovi suite 0.241 of the vista OS nor the win7 OS
could recognize the nokia 5800 any more.(driver could not be installed)
I de-installed the ovi suite on both systems and tried to re-install again.
I managed this on the win7 system ( to do this i had to clear all nokia folders and also clean
all registry entrys of the ovi installation).
Finally the re-installation of the ovi suite 0.241 on win7 OS was done.without problems
The great problem is the vista system.
i also cleaned the whole system with entries of the ovi-suite, nokia installation, folders
registry and so on.(i used special software to to this professionally).
    Now the following problem resists:
If i want wo install the new ovi-suite i get a screen either to repair or to de-install the
    ovi-suite.
Both possibilities lead to an error code 1610/1612.
So i can not install and i can not repair nor can i deinstall the ovi-suite.
I feel sure, that i have cleaned all folders and the registry from the installation of the
    ovi-suite 2.1
Please give me some hints what i can try more to manage the re-installation.
    My ideas run out.

    thatsa,
If you can't uninstall or upgrade your installation you can use Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove Ovi Suite so that it's possible to reinstall it. http://www.filestube.com/2889cc34930c97e403ea/go.html . Microsoft used to offer this utility online, but have removed it. The file behind filestube link has Microsoft's digital signature so it should be safe to use.
More info about the utility: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility
