Ovi Suite Unistalled - But New version ask repair ...

Need Help, I had nokia ovi suite 3.3.86 installed however when a update message was received for version 3.4.49 i got message "Some thing went wrong, cannot create file name already exist". After lot of frustration i uninstalled ovi suite / cleaned registry / uninstalled connectivity driver, etc.
Then I tried to installed new version 3.4.49 however, i got same message several times again.
So finally i decided to install old version 3.3.86 but now it asks for Repair or Uninstall when i tried repair it gives message cannot locate file Nokia suite setup.msi when i tried uninstall got same message.
Request to help in above case how do i install 3.3.86 or if i can still be able to install 3.4.49.

The thread in reference is the one I have pasted the link for.. What I meant was that, that thread is not soved yet..still you could try the suggestions there-in. Since, you mention that you did not get any solution thru' any other thread on this Forum, I suggest you to report the issue (log) as mentioned...

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Restart the programme all should be well
In case that your OS is (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
3. Now paste it in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

F6 focuses the first selectable element.<br />
If "Tabs on Top" is selected then the active tab is selectable, so the location bar is not selected.<br />
Press F6 to set focus on the Tab bar and press the Tab key until the location bar gets focus.
To get the 3.6 behavior uncheck "Firefox button > options > [] Tabs on Top" or use Alt + D or Ctrl + L

Ovi Suite keeps on crashing (version 2.2.0.245)

I was looking through the support forum and found several people in the same situation as I am. However, I was unable to use any of their solutions, such as running in compatibility mode.
I am running this on Windows 7 Home 64-bit. Here's the error message:

When ever I try to open the programme, it will run for several seconds and crash. In the past few tries in didn't even open.

- On application crash, you'll see the dialog asking whether you want to Debug or Close. Don't do either. Closing the dialog destroys the dump file before you have a chance to copy it.
- Click the "For more information about this error, click here" link in the crash dialog, and copy the "Error signature" contents. The relevant content can be selected with mouse, and copied. Paste the text to the notepad.
- Find the minidump file (probably C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp\???.DMP) . If there are multiple .DMP files, check the modification time the find the one that was created at the same time the application crashed.
- Start Task Manager and kill process "dwwin.exe", the dump file is locked by this process.
-The dump file can now be copied.
Windows Vista and Windows 7
- On application crash, you'll see the dialog suggesting "Check online for a solution and close the program" AND "close the program". Do not click either yet! Leave that pop up open.
- Open Task Manager (e.g. press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC simultaneously).
- Find NokiaOviSuite.exe from the processes list in Task Manager.
- Right click NokiaOviSuite.exe and select Create Dump File.
- When the dump is ready, a dialog opens and tells where the dump was stored.
- Also expand the crash popup dialog window's "View problem details" and copy the contents to this email.
- After you have got the needed data press "Check online for a solution and close the program" in the crash dialog.
NOTE: If the crash dump is huge in size then follow the steps provided here.
Here are the step by step instructions to send files on Ovi.
1. Log into Ovi.com
2. Click on files
3. Type in your username and password
For a user who has not set up files on ovi on his computer, it will give an option to download the file connector.
4. Click Download and install the file connector.
5. Then you will find the Sign in to Ovi Files icon in the desktop.
6. Close the browser and then click on Sign in to Ovi Files icon from desktop.
7. It will connect to ovi.com again. Login with username and password.
8. Left pane shows the directory like the windows explorer.
9. Anytime file status will show the respective file/folder
10. Select the file which you want to send and then right click the file and select the option send.
11. Type the email address [email protected]
12. Select the expiration date and then add comments if any.
13. Then select the option to store in anytime file.
The email recipient will receive an email with a link to download the file.

I install Nokia Ovi Suite. It works excrelent. But software update dont see updates. On nokia site wrote that latest version is 08.63, but on my phone is 7.20, and ovi suite tell that is no mew version of softvare for my phone. How to update software.

Availability of update depends on Region / Product Code.. Also if the phone is Network locked, then the update will be possible only after an approval from the Operator...Hence the update may not be available for your phone yet...
...You may also try thru' Nokia Software Updater...sometimes if one (OVI Suite) doesn't show... the other (NSU) shows.. and vice versa...

Can't open Numbers on computer, it says to download new version but new version is already installed

I cant open Numbers in my computer, it says to download new version in app store. i have done that but it still continues to give me that message.

Are you launching Numbers from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Numbers from there then right-click on the Dock icon & select Options > Keep in Dock.
Installing new versions of iWork has never replaced existing versions. This is nothing new. The only thing new is that the '09 apps are moved to an iWork '09 folder if they were purchased from the Mac App Store. If they were installed from disk they should already be in a separate folder in Applications.

Transfer OVI Suite database to new PC

HI,
I need to transfer my OVI suite database (SMS and contacts) to a new Laptop.
I have over 4700 sms's backup'd up on my OVI suite (current PC) ... On my E72 i only keep the current months SMS's.
Now i am getting a new Laptop and cannot loose the 4700 sms's.
How do i move the OVI database with sms's to the new Laptop.

just do one thing make a backup of the folders inside the
"C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Data Store"
And put them again in the same location on your laptop after installing NOS.
Username is the login name of the computer
This will definitely solve your issue.

Just Bought A Touch, But Newer Version Out Soon?

I just picked up an ipod touch a couple of days ago. My question is what happens to me if the new version of the touch comes out in September/October? Obviously newer tech & features would make me want the new one instead. Since I just bought it, is there an exchange/grace period where I can get the new version if this happens?

I got my iPod Touch a few months after it was first released I believe, now I am stuck with the old, non-speaker having, iTouch. sigh And because I got it when it was pretty much just released, and that the newer versions came out over the months, I could NOT trade it in for a new one. Which I find unfair now since my 8gb has dropped $100 in price and can even have a speaker in it.
Currently, there's rumors that they'll be an iPod Touch that'll have a camera in it.
My Advice To You: Search out tech sites, read the rumors, return your iPod (if you want), wait a couple months, buy the awesome new iPod touch that'll come out.
Can't wait for the iPhone to come to Verizon! i'll get my moneys worth.

I want to unistall the newer version of firefox. I liked my google toolbar and I can not use it with the newer version.

Our Trend Micro security system offers a page rating scale that we use to help our sons keep to safe web sites. When I went to update Firefox to the latest version (4), it would not allow us to keep the rating scale - something which has not been a problem on previous versions. I therefore returned to the "3.6"(?) version in order to keep the scale. How can I solve this issue please?

Does it happen with the apps that came with the iPod?
Does it happen with all apps you have downloaded/installed?
Have you ried deleting the apps and redownload/install the apps? You will not be charged again if you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased the apps.
Next would be to restore from backup
Last would be to restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

Ovi suite does not find a new MP4 on my PC!

Unfortunately, after upgrading from 3.0 to 3.1 version of Ovi Suite I found that my newly added video files, mostly an MP4, can't be shown by the software. Also, much before this, I have to admit, some MP3 files are not been displayed in my gallery in the Ovi suite and I used to blame on the files, or even my PC. It did happen earlier 3.0 and still is on. I do not know what to think now, maybe some of you can explain what is going wrong!
Please, share your ideas. I would be glad to read some!

this is the answer to your issue....
the problem is not the Nokia PC Suite.... it is HP that is to blame for adding such slopy hardware that is built not to be usable by other external software.. i have a HP Probook 4530s and it uses the same but newer version, bluetooth hardware Realtek Motorola BC8 Bluetooth 3.0+HS Adapter that has to use motorola software...this motorola software is able to connect to my phone via bluetooth and acts like a built-in nokia pc suite / Windows bluetooth driver... not allowing the actual nokia pc suite access to the bluetooth hardware... in short nokia pc suite is Incompatibile with Ralink / Realtek Motorola BC4 / BC8 Bluetooth 3.0+HS Adapter... so if you have this problem ask HP to come up with new software that works on the motorola hardware that is compatible with nokia PC suite... this is the problem with products that have parts built by other companies.. (Incompatibility)
thats why i like Apple and nokia they dont out source other brands to make parts... but recently nokia ran to microsoft for the lumia windows cause there symbian software was loseing against ios and android..

Ovi suite will not recognise my new E7-00

Can anyone help: I have a new E7-00 and a PC running Vista. When I install Ovi suite and conect the phone then Ovi always says that the phone is not in PC suite (or Ovi suite) mode, but it is. I can never get beyond this which means Ovi doesn't link with the phone, I can't sync, and the phone is basically only any use as a paper weight. Nokia helpline has acknowledged a problem with the USB drivers for the E7 but offered no solution. I've spent hours on this and am getting desperate, any suggestions? Cheers

I am not sure whether this will solve your problem but you could try this once.
1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
6. Restart the computer if prompted.
7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and Ovi suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.
