Ovi Suite wont install

I get almost to the end of installation when the message 256mb space required for installation appears. Install is then aborted. There is more than enough space required on my drive.Changed the destination for install and still the same message appears. This is driving me nuts. Is it the **bleep** software or is it me? This should not be so hard.

i dnt think u can change the installation drive, keep more space in ur C: and try again the recent version of ovisuite from http://www.comms.ovi.com/m/p/ovi/suite/index_en_uk.html

HI,
Freeing space on C:\ phone memory is a problem.
Windows says that the phone's memory is full,
but after selecting the folders and files the total
use is 36.5kB ?!
So what goes wrong?

Help!!! my ovi suite wont recognize my x3-02

i just bought it 2days ago and when installed ovi suite and inserted my usb cord thru my phone it won't recognize in the software ovi suite, even if i already set my phone automatically to ovi suite not mass storage/ etc
help plssssss!!!!!!

Try one more thing..
Uninstall the Nokia Connectivity Cable drivers thru' Windows Control Panel on your Pc.. Then Re-boot the PC and connect the phone.. Wait for the drivers to get re-installed..

How long should it take Ovi Suite to install a sof...

I have been waiting for quite some time already and it is still at step 3 - Install. It says it is preparing to install and not to disconnect my device, otherwise it may stop working.
It is nothing out of common, the only thing that bothers me is that it is preparing for too long, when will it start installing?

OVI Suite not Installing

I have tried in excess of 10 times to install Nokia Ovi Suite on my PC.
I have visited this site and tried all of the suggestions, removing existing software, restarting, redownloading the newest version of NOS and installing to no avail.
The error message I get every time is:
Installer
Error 1327.
Invalid drive: S:\
Please help!!!

What version of Windows are you utilizing?
WARNING If you're comfortable with editing registry:
Hit Start, Run and type Regedit
Find the following HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows| CurrentVersion\ Explorer\User Shell Folders
In the right pane - see if these is any entries which has an F or any other alphabets not C (your OP folder) modify data to C:\

Ovi suite wont update to new ovi maps

While trying to update my n8 to the latest version of ovi maps v3.06 11wk10b01 through ovi suite i got an error message: something has gone wrong cannot update....
please help. there are some serious update glitches have been happening to ovi suite lately that need to be fixed asap by nokia

I have been facing the same problem. Even when another new build 3.6.637 has come out, it still gives the same error. I have tried to install from the phone and through the OVI suite and also using the sis file. Here is the link of the Ovi Suite error.

Pc suite wont install

I installed the dku2 cable driver first no problem then try installing pc suite 6.7 comes up with error 1935, then i try version 6.1 same error.

Nokia Ovi suite won't install!

I have recently bought an N97 mini and want to use it as a modem for my laptop. So i tried downloading Nokia Ovi suite and installing it but when it was installing it came up with a message saying:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly "Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",PublicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",version=
"8.0.50727.4053,type="win32".
I also tried Nokia PC suite but had a similar result...
Anyone have any ideas? They would be greatly appreciated!

This seems to be corrupted install component. Most of the time this happens when the executables files are not launched properly. I recommend to use the msi clean up utility (from microsoft) and remove all traces of Nokia from system. I am attaching the file as txt, please save it as .exe and then execute
Then navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache and remove all the GUID there ( unique nos).
- Restart Computer
Then download and install the latest version of Windows installer from here

Nokia OVI Suite and Nokia Care Support

Today I called Nokia Support, because I could not download maps with map loader.
The guy asked if the ovi suite is installed. I told him, that the Ovi suite keeps on crashing on start-up on my machine, and that all other software is running fine, e.g. the PC suite which I am using instead.
For a price of 14 Cent/Minutes this "Nokia-Care"-guy had the nuts telling me that probably my computer needs to be fixed. After telling him that my computer works fine with all other software, he finally told me that I need to call Microsoft, as it would be their fault that Ovi Suite is not running on my machine.
This is a poor joke called "Nokia-Care". Dear Nokia-people, that is no-support and no-care-at-all. Providing something that crashes for free, and charging money for providing rudeness on the phone.

If i hav understood ur issue correctly, u want to share the same nokia ovi suite(Contacts, Messages, Calendar and tasks etc) of ur entire family with single nokia ovi suite? If my understaning is wrong, please do correct/educate me.
AFAIK, nokia ovi suite does not work the same way how pc suite works at least when it comes to PIM sync like Contacts, Messages, calendar and tasks etc.,
In case of PC Suite, u can connect more than a device and u can sync/store messages/contacts/calendar etc separately and u can switch to the next device, there is no dedicated database to store any of ur data, if u r synching with pc suite.
In case of Ovi Suite, it has got a database where it stores user's info in a database, so u cannot sync multiple phone's data with single nokia ovi suite.

Is Ovi Suite slow or what?

Ovi Suite v. 3.0.0.290
I updated the program and it took like an hour. When I launch the program from my desktop, it takes like 5 minutes before it's fully loaded. It's generally very slow performing any function in the suite. Is this a common experience, or am I the only one? I get around 4.3 Mbps internet speed, my comp. has Celeron CPU, 2.00Ghz and 256MB RAM, 7GB free space.

It depends on what phone you have and what you want the software to do, but you could try removing ovi suite and install Nokia pc suite as it is a bit lighter to run.
Your computer will however not be able to run bigger applications as fast as you want it as it has low specs. The celeron cpu is known to be quite slow. A disk with that little space left would also make it worse. Have you thought about cleaning up and defragment the drive? If it is a harddrive...?
256 mb is getting to little for todays bigger applications. Remember that much of your ram is probably already in use by the OS and perhaps other programs you have set to boot with your system. When the computer runs out of ram it will try to access the disk to compensate for the full ram, and everything will be slower as a harddrive works much slower than ram chips, and the harddrive is quite full I guess. If you take a look here http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite/compatibility-and-download , your computer does not meet the minimum requirements of Ovi suite (too little ram).
What I suggest you do is to clean up your computer with using a clean up tool. Ccleaner is known to be quite safe and I have never had any bad experiences with it. Then you reboot your computer and run a defrag on the harddrive.
Then make sure that you close all other programs when running ovi suite as you need the ram you have.
However, with such specs, the experience will unfortunately never be as good as you want. But having a good "computer hygiene" does usually makes things a bit less painful
Have you concidered upgrading the ram of your computer? If the motherboard supports it, It would be a good Idea. I guess the RAM u need would probably be quite cheap. Also a bigger harddrive is recommended. Shouldn't be much trouble chaning that on a desktop.

Ovi Suite, privacy issue

I'm a registered user of Nokia Ovi Suite. My Ovi Suite is installed on my PC, when I start the program it goes directly to the first page showing my messages and contacts before I log in to my account. How can I privatize the software, I frankly don't want anyone using my PC to access my stored messages and contacts.

Do the others using the PC use thier own log-in profiles ?
If yes and if you are registered as the Administrator of the PC.. then try this..
Right click on the OVI Suite iconon the Desktop and select Properties..Select 'Security' tab and set the permissions..

Problem setting up ovi suite with N86

I've just downloaded the latest v of Ovi suite and installed it on my PC, but when I try to connect my phone (N86) I get a message:
"an error occured while copying file ccdcmb.sys
cannot copy file to destination directory
click retry to retry the operation or click cancel to"
when i click cancel i get a message stating:
"do you want to continue setup without copying the file"
i haven't.
when i started the setup, i got to teh screen asking whether i wanted to connect via usb, bluetooth etc. or skip. usb was automatically highlighted. at that point i connected my phone via usb before clicking 'next', but from the wording on the following screen i gather that i should have clicked 'next' first and then connected.
so....
1) how do i fix the ccdcmb.sys issue please? from other comments on ccdcmb.sys in the forum, am i correct in thinking i need to uninstall everything and start again?
2) could someone recommend to the guys who write the installation screens that it is made clear to users whether they should connect before clicking 'next' or after
3) also to the guys who write the screens, please finish the last line of the first error message
as an aside, earlier this month i tried to install an earlier version of ovi. that time the software wouldn't even install on my pc, giving an error code 9508.
my pc is running fully updated xp pro.

An odd thing about the phone is that I actually did run the s/w update at the end of Jan or start of Feb and it reported as successful. So beats me why it now states 'not updated'. I ran this update soon after I got the phone, after I successfully installed a previous v of Ovi. I had to restore my HDD soon after this, which is why I was trying to install Ovi again this week.
Anyway, any help much appreciated
