Ovi Sync all gone to pot
On my OVI account it shows I have two N97s (I only have one). It tells me neither is fully configured, but it fails to configure when I try:
It says- "sorry we couldn't provision your device", but then sends the configuration txt to my phone, which I then can't open because it didn't give me the PIN.
I can't delete either N97 from my account.
Also OVI suite on my laptop fails to sync with my OVI account.
It looks to me like my whole account needs cleaning out and starting again - any ideas?
BTW "share on OVI" from the camera works fine.

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
Unfortunately Ovi sync has been discontinued some time ago, so it is no longer possible to fetch your saved contacts from the service. Please see here for more information.
We would advise you to check if you have a prior backup of your phone on your computer and restore that. If you do not have a backup, I am afraid your contacts are lost.

My photos will not sync to my Apple TV (1st generation), ipad, iphone, or itouch. They used to be there but upon recent syncs with all devices they have all gone. I am totally baffled as I have not changed settings?
I had the same thing happen to me. It's a bug in iPhoto 9.4.2.
The first time you run iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2, it "updates the iPhoto library". This sometimes tickles a bug where iTunes can see all your iPhoto albums, but iTunes thinks they are empty. Since iTunes thinks all your albums are empty, it dutifully deletes any photos from your synced iOS devices.
It's easy to tell if this is the problem you are seeing. Open iTunes and go to the photos sync panel for one of your iOS devices. If you have multiple albums checked, but iTunes shows a total of 0 photos, then you have the problem.
I spent an hour with an Apple Genius. he couldn't find any mention of this problem in their internal support system. His recomendation was to reinstall the operating the system. I suspect that this won't solve it.
The only solution I have found is to restore iPhoto 9.4.1 and the corresponding iPhoto library from your backups.
I would refrain from upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2 until Apple has a fix for this issue. -
I was using my notes earlier today and now for some reason they are all gone. How does this happen and is there anything I can do to get them back, the new ones also that haven't been synced.

I downloaded IOS 5??? yesterday and synced, last night when I went to look at photos and videos they were all gone. How do I get them back? I noticed all my pictures from my computer were now on I pad but nothing that was originally on I pad, everything gone. Could this be on my computer some where?

JanDemo is right. If you have a backup/synced with your PC you might be lucky finding a previous backup? You can just restore your iPhone to get your photos & videos back. Simply sync your iPhone via iTunes to transfer the files back to your device. Alternatively, you can also use iPhone Backup Extractor to extract the media files off to your computer (assuming you have a backup of the files you are referring to).

I synced about 50 books to my new ipad air 2. When I click any other books, the sync starts all over again for all books (it shows 51 books syncing). If I abort the sync, all of a sudden, all books are gone from my ipad. I don't know why. I did not have this problem on my old ipad...or before I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was very worried losing all my medical stuff on my iPad Air 2, plus i have nothing to use for the next day! So i have to try all the possible things i read on the internet!! And this worked on my part (Thank God, and thank you Google)
Perform a hard reboot
Hold down the Home button and Power button on your iPhone or iPad and keep holding them until you see the Apple logo. Once you do, you can let go. When your device boots back up, go ahead and check to see if the apps have started re-downloading. If they still appear to be stuck, continue on. -
Songs are showing up and playing fine in iTunes yet will not sync to my iPad it is a selection of songs by the same artist, all gone?

Have a classic 5th gen. have restored, relaoded itunes, gone through the troubleshooting tips and I still can't sync my latest 3 albums to my ipod. It will sync all but those. Also, when go through ipod trblshoot and select check for sync, says can't see my ipod. pls help
Thanks for the reply. The Itunes trouble shooting in Itunes help. I don't get an error message, it just states can't see ipod like if it wasn't plugged in. I do get an error message on a few of the songs when sync that say error 50, and state that they can't be loaded to ipod. The weird thing is that I can load all of my libary except the latest 3 albums. They are in my libary but they won't load. I'm not sure but it seems like it started when the cloud came about from amazon which is where I buy most of my music.

Ovi Music Sync - do NOT sync all "My Music" folder...
I am using Ovi Suite 2.2.0.245 with my Nokia X6. After installing, I wanted to select a Music folder to by sync'ed with my X6, and I do NOT want to sync all files from Windows "My Music" folder.
Under "Sync Option" / Music I can add a folder to be sync'ed.
But pleeeeaaase - How can I disable automatic synchronization of all "My Music" files????
The only choice I have is to say "do only sync the following playlists" - but I want to say "do only sync the following FOLDER...
Any ideas? Is this not possible??

I removed the "my music" folder, but still I have all songs from this folder in OVI Music.
I want to completely get rid of all indexed music, and only have OVI watch a specific folder... -

sync'd my 3gs last night. Got ios5 update. Woke up this morning and my contacts were all gone!. Where'd they go? How do I get them back?

You need to check other places where your contacts may be stored:
- iTunes/iCloud back up
- iCloud if you synced them to it -
Went to use my contacts and they are all gone! Changed iCloud accounts on Saturday, performed a backup and then synced my music only on iTunes via a PC. How do I find out if my contacts were really stored on iCloud? If so, how do I get them back?
Log into icloud.com and then click on the Contacts icon. If the list is empty, then it's gone.

For example I have Skype, Google Talk and jabber account linked to almost all of my contacts, but I can not see or edit them from the Nokia Ovi Suite.

FieldPoint Explorer is no longer used to configure FieldPoint systems. However, I do not think that the configuring your system in FieldPoint Explorer is causing the error.
FieldPoint systems are now setup in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). Information on setting up FieldPoint systems in MAX can be found in the MAX help under: Installed Products>> FieldPoint. Also, I recommend upgrading to the latest FieldPoint driver and version of MAX. The FieldPoint VI's will be slightly different when you upgrade, so there is a good chance that this will eliminate the error.

I had almost 30 different seasons of tv shows in my library, alot. Now there all gone, my library is blank. My purchases are in my purchasd section on the store but I dont have enough space to download them all over again. I cant figure out what happend to them. I just watched one, then turnd my pc off, and later that day they were gone. And its IMPOSSABLE to contact apple about it, I dont know why its so hard to ask them any kind of question... Please help..

The Apple TV 2 will play all the content in your iTunes library that your Apple TV 1 does. It can no longer sync any of it but can stream it all just as the older model did. Airplay is a different feature that lets you stream from an iPad/iPhone, the Apple TV 2 has Airplay the first didn't.
You can still sort and search content by genre, it still marks content watched and unwatched and mainly still lets you organise much as the Apple TV 1 did, with one exception. It doesn't do nested folders, so the ability to tag a movie as a show (ie James Bond) and have all the associated movies in a James bond folder has gone and it lists all these movies individually.
It has a similar situation with TV shows. It will put all TV shows in a series in a folder as the older one did, but the new one lists each series separately whereas the older model would put all the series in one folder.
Not nesting folders is a bit of a pain with large libraries and whilst I don't like it, it's more or less the only compromise I have to make and of course I get additional features too.

DNS names keep "flikkering" randomly in Apple Remote Desktop
