  • OVM 3.0.3: Please wait while system is initializing issue

    Hello,
after logging in to OVM 3.0.3 I cannot do anything anymore. I see the states of the vms and the servers but when I want to modify anything I simply get the current time and the errror Please wait while system is initializing.
And the system really isn't initializing anymore, unless it takes a few days... I'm using a 11g SE database. I used to have a problem to login which I resolved by manually restarting the DB/listener and OVMM again. But now I get this weird issue when I'm logged in, I see all but I cannot use anything.
Seems like the OVM isn't in sync anymore with the real database items.
Does anyone know what to do next? I wonder how I can resync the manager with the database commandline?
    Kind regards,
    J

    Avi,
nothing really noticeable, does this provide any insight for you?:

  • OVM 3 - Please wait while system is initializing

There's also the AdminServer.log to scan. I don't know if this will solve your problem, but I too had the same problem with my VM Manager (running in a VirtualBox VM on my machine, whilst the VM servers are running bare metal) after restarting it. After scanning the log I noticed that there was a complaint of time drift between the OS and the DB so I did an ntpdate -u , restarted the system and upon re-accessing the Manager, all was well again. Yes, time sync is quite important for the Oracle VM Manager for a few reasons: firstly, to align stats received by all the Oracle VM Servers to manage policies in the pool, also Oracle VM Manager is automatically configured as an NTP time source for Oracle VM Servers that are discovered, so it's worthwhile trying to run Oracle VM Manager all the time as a reference time source in your environment.Ah, gotcha. Well then, I might have to move from using openfiler on third server to a proper linux host using tgt to export iscsi luns and run the Manager there. My workstation is a little less stable/static than a proper sandbox server :-)
    Thanks Avi.
    Cheers,

  • OVM3.1.1 - Please wait while system is initializing

    Hello,
One of my OVM Servers is having issues within the OVM Manager 3.1.1. I checked the ovmmanager admin log (/u01/app/oracle/ovm-manager-3/machine1/base_adf_domain/servers/AdminServer/logs/AdminServer.log) and found this . The server (ovs1) is alive, it has the /OVS repo and heartbeat attached. I can even manually start VM on it if I wanted to. It just seems the OVM Manager and that server are for whatever reason no longer talking.... Please Help!

    Hi All,
Have similar problem but after following below one also still we are facing same error "Please wait while system is initializing" and unable to acknowledge any of the events.
    1) Stop OVM service on the server with Oracle VM Manager installation:
    # service ovmm stop
    2)Please run the following commands:
    # cd /u01/app/oracle/ovm-manager-3/ovm_upgrade/bin
    # ./ovm_upgrade.sh fixup dbuser=ovs dbpass=<password> dbhost=localhost dbport=<lsnr> dbsid=<sid>
Port and sid values are recorded in /u01/app/oracle/ovm-manager-3/.config
    3) Start the OVM service:
    # service ovmm start
    Process followed logs
    [root@ablvmmgr bin]# ./ovm_upgrade.sh fixup dbuser=ovs dbpass=System123 dbhost=localhost dbport=1521 dbsid=XE

  • UCCX 7.01 hangs after "Please wait while System Parameters are saved"

Have a new system, here is the order in which I completed the steps:
    OS disk
    OS Patches
    installed CRS
    Installed SQL
    installed SR5
    OS patches again
    initial config
When going through the initial configuration I get to enter the information for HR Sessions and Codec and it tells me "Please wait while System Parameters are saved".  After a few minutes it refreshes to a blank page and the system is not configured.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Rebuilt the damned thing and started from Scratch.  (Need to add to the release notes “UCCX server must be rebuilt a minimum of 3 times” as it seems this always happens.)  After this things are happy.  I did see a differnent set of screens during the initial configuration but wasn't smart enough to document them.
    1.       Installed OS
    2.       Installed UCCX 7.01
    3.       Installed SQL for UCCX 7
    4.       Ran Initial Configuration
    5.       Installed SR5 for UCCX 7
    6.       Installed OS updates 3002.1.5aSR9

  • Launching VB6 Editor after installing Visual Studio 2013 results in "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Visual Studio..."

I have had various versions of Visual Studio installed beside Visual Basic 6.0 Enterprise for some time with no problems, most recently Visual Studio 2012 Premium.
I recently installed Visual Studio 2013 Premium, and now every time I open VB6 I get a dialog that says "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2013" that shows a progress bar. After it finishes (30 seconds or
so), it launches again and again and finally VB6 will open. This happens with each instance of VB6, regardless if I've already done it once and never run VS2013 in between.
If I cancel the dialog, I get this error message in a dialog: "Error 1712. One or more of the files required to restore your computer to its previous state could not be found. Restoration will not be possible." Several more "Please wait"...
dialogs will appear and if I continue to cancel, eventually I'll get the VB6 editor. It appear to work fine despite the error messages.
It seems to me that the VS2013 installer flagged some dll's or other files to be rolled back whenever starting VB6. It doesn't appear to be necessary, and I'd like to avoid playing the "Please wait" wack-a-cancel-button game before launching each
instance of VB6 (or waiting several minutes for no reason). So how do I fix this?
Note: I've seen something similar happen in Outlook on a different PC when upgrading from 2010 to 2013. The same sort of "Please wait"... dialog would appear each time I opened Outlook. Judging by the "similar" questions that popped up when
entering this forum post, I'd say this is a general problem with upgrading older versions or installing newer versions of major Microsoft software side-by-side.
    /* Don Reynolds */

    I found the answer!
I was having the exact same issue, and I was search for a solution and I happened across the following thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f4b0fd38-f4f9-41ea-bd8d-834203a175d2/building-visual-studio-2010-project-triggers-please-wait-while-windows-configures-visual-studio?forum=vssetup&prof=required
Scroll a small bit down, and there is a post by Barry Wang explaining that you need to use event viewer to find out what is missing. Anyway, I opened event viewer, then open VS 6, then hit refresh in the event viewer (under Windows Logs -> Application)
and saw a warning message from MsiInstaller. It gave me the following message:
Detection of product '{9C593464-7F2F-37B3-89F8-7E894E3B09EA}', feature 'Visual_Studio_Professional_x86_enu', component '{E3FF99AA-78B9-4A06-8A74-869E9F65E1FE}' failed.  The resource 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\URTInstallPath_GAC\' does
    not exist.
I opened an elevated command prompt, I navigated to the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework folder and verified that 'URTInstallPath_GAC' didn't exist, and then I did "md URTInstallPath_GAC".
Closed and reopened VS 6, and it instantly opened - no "Please wait" message.
Now this may or may not be the same problem you are having (problem is - I have had it happen on two separate computers now with VS 6 and VS 2013 installed), but it should point you in the right direction. In fact, you should be able to use the Event Viewer
for anytime the "Please wait" message shows up for any application, and then once there find out what is really missing.

  • Is there a setting to automatically close the "please wait while we generate your document" page that pops up when downloading a pdf file?

I am constantly downloading pdf's and excel files from our company software which uses a web browser to access it. When I download a file, firefox generates a full screen pop up window that states "please wait while we generate your document." My problem with it is the fact that pop up window does not close after the download. I have to manually close the window. Is there a way to set that pop up window to close automatically after the file has finished downloading and is open in foxit reader or excel or word or whatever?
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hi,
You could try is to '''Disable''' the Foxit, Adobe and Office '''Plugins''' in '''Tools '''('''Alt '''+ '''T''') > '''Add-ons''' and use the normal Firefox Open with (when you click on a link) to browse/open it in the required application.

  • ITunes 10.7 upgrade - 'Please Wait While Windows Configures iTunes'

Upgraded to iTunes 10.7, which I now regard as one of the poorest pc-related decisions I've ever made.  The time suck on this issue is massively depressing.
Running Windows Vista.  Have completely uninstalled and re-installed (clean registries, re-boots etc) all iTunes and Apple products with no resolution.
Every time I try to start iTunes I get a "Please Wait While Windows Configures iTunes" message on loop.  At some point it will usually default to "Checking iTunes Library" and then both that and the installer will run in tandem.  When I look at Task Manager it seems to indicate from the amount of memory usage that iTunes is in fact running in some form or at some level, but it does not actually open the program.
When I reinstalled yesterday iTunes opened right up (after the install it did not ask me to reboot the system).  When I restarted the system this morning the problem was back.  Just installs and installs and installs ...  Doesn't actually open.  Wouldn't any registry conflict/problem have been fixed with the clean reinstall?
I've tried every solution/trick/suggestion I can find with internet searches. No luck.  This has been a month now.  iPhone and various iPods completely inaccessible re content and that really hammers home the danger of relying on a closed system like this.  Really disappointed in this situation.
Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.

when i start my itunes each time i have a message ''please wait while windows configures iTunes''.
The iTunes desktop shortcut is an "advertised shortcut". When you click it, the first thing it does is check the iTunes.msi and determines (against the installation database in there) whether or not there's any files and registry entries and whatnot for iTunes missing on your PC. If it finds something missing, it'll do a repair install of iTunes, which is the "configures" message you're seeing.
As to why it's always doing it in your case, and fixing it ... we'd better first work out if there's real damage to the iTunes stuff on the PC or if the shortcut/itunes.msi/registry machinery is just a bit confused.
Apart from the "configures" message you're getting every time you launch iTunes, is it working okay? Are you able to sync, play music, use the Store and so forth without any trouble? Or are you getting other problems as well?

  • Everytime I try to scan it says "Please wait while windows configures scan".

Hi guys. I am trying to use my HP Photosmart D110 on my windows XP SP3. I am using the same printer on another computer (Windows 7) and it works perfectly. I don't know why everytime I try to scan it tells me "Please wait while winows configures scan". I have done research on this and nothing has helped. Some people it has something to do with scan.msi. People found success with the issue I have with this forum
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-and-Copying/HP-C7250-quot-configures-quot-itself-every-...
Unfortunately, the program "Windows Installer Clean Up Utility" is no longer available and has been replaced with "Microsoft Fix it" and the person who answered the question (rasengan-bankai) said to look for "scan" but in the list it doesn't show anything that specifically that says that. This is what the list contains (that has to do with HP):
    HPAppStudio
    HP Product Assistant
    Solution Center
I don't know what to do and anything that helps fix the problem will be greatly appreciated. Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with the subject but the computer I am using (Windows XP SP3) was not working a while back and had to replace the hard drive and reformatted it.
Thanks a lot for your help.

It sounds like your install has become messed up in some manner.  It is possible that not all portions installed correctly or that registry keys tied to the program have been broken.  I would advise performing a cleanup uninstall process and then reinstall the software on your PC.  I will provide these steps below.
    1. Run disk cleanup on your computer
    2. Download and run the software and drivers below.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-80511-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
    3. Once the download is done extracting, cancel the download.
4.. Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.
    5. Type %temp% in the run field and click OK.
    6. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    7. Open folder Util
    8. Open folder CCC
    9. Run the uninstall_ L4.bat for non-HP computers.  For HP computers run the Uninstall_L3.bat
    10. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    11. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
    12. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
    13. Use this tool to clean the system and registry.  Note: This utility is not HP sponsored or approved.  HP and I are not responsible for damages or loss of data caused by the utility.  This step is optional.   You can skip it if you want.

    14. Download the full feature software and drivers
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-80511-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
    15. Run the download to reinstall the printer

  • After upgrade to 10.0.1.22 - "please wait while windows configures itunes"

    Hi all,
After successfully running iTunes without problems including version 10, I routinely upgrade to the latest version 10.0.1.22 and all of a sudden now I keep getting this "please wait while windows configures itunes" dialog with a status bar before the iTunes application properly launches. Once its up, its functioning fine, but its annoying to get this dialog and status bar every time I use the application. What can I do? I tried a repair install and it didn't do anything.

There's no trace of any other itl file on my PC
Are there any files /Music/iTunes/Previous iTunes libraries/ ?
guess this means I won't see my apps and music again
Just because they do not show in iTunes does not mean they ar enot on yoru computer.
Besides, you do make regular backups of your computer correct?
Look in /Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications/ for your apps and /Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/ for everything else.
If they are there then iTunes menu File > Add folder to library and select /Music/iTunes/ .
