I tried several times to go to the BIOS for reinstall 8.1 or fresh installation of windows 7. but I cant enter into the BIOS by pressing F2/F8/F10/DEL whatever after restarting my system immidiately! what should I do! please help me to install my previous windows 7 OS.
    Solved!

If you performed a clean install, try again and see if it works out. The same thing which you faced happened to me while I was upgrading from windows 8 to 8.1, it took me a couple of tries before 8.1 would finally install.

This issue was caused by root user cannot su to oracle user.
The W/A is to disable ypbind service and run createOracle.sh to make the oracle user a local one.
How to disable ypbind? issue following command based on your host env,
    service ypbind stop
    or
    /etc/init.d/ypbind stop
More details, pls check Bug 16416238 - manager installer should add a prereq check that root can su to oracle user

  • OVM Manager 3.3.1 Installation Fails

I am having a hard time figuring this out. I am trying to install OVM Manager 3.3.1 on Oracle Linux release 7. I have configured the host file with the IP address and the Name of the host. I have setup the IPTABLE firewall ports. I ran createOracle.sh script successfully. I can ping the host by name and IP address, I can ping outside addresses. When going through the OVM Manager install I get through the point where I choose "1-for installation" and then it says that its retrieving MySQL Database 5.6 and then just goes back to a command prompt. The logs do not give any insight on what went wrong. Not sure where else I can try other than starting over again and installing Oracle Linux 6 and trying to install OVM Manager from there.

by any chance do you have existing installation of mysql to the machine
    you are installing OVMM?
another hint is to disable SELinux.
I checked the documentation and OEL 7 is not in the list of supported
OS. I would not try to run any Oracle product on unsupported
configuration and based on this I would advise you run the installation
on OEL 6 updated with the latest level.
    Hope this helps,
    A.

Reboot and start install again.  If it fails again try the -n switch.  i.e. ./runInstaller -n
Also make sure you have run the ./createOracle.sh script, before running the installer,  which creates the required environment, groups and users.

  • Why is the installer stuck on "Checking System Profile-"?

I'm trying to install Flash Catalyst Beta on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard).
The installer starts to work, but then it stops at the point where it checks the system profile (see attached screenshot). It doesn't seem to have crashed as the dock icon allows me to quit without force quitting the application.
I've tried it in my regular user account and the administrator account, but the behaviour is identical.

Subject: Why is the installer stuck on "Checking System
    Profile…"?
    Thanks Gary.
I need to ask you a few questions and request you to perform some more steps
so that I can debug your problem.
    1. Have you modified any folder permissions, authorization setup using
Keychain Access utility (or any other tool)?
    2. Open a Terminal window, and run the command 'ls -l /tmp' and copy-paste
the output printed on your screen in your reply.
    3. Delete all files whose name start with 'asu' in your /tmp folder. Run the
command 'rm -rf /tmp/asu*'. Restart your machine.
    4. Launch the Flash Catalyst setup and check if installation proceeds
successfully. If it doesn't, proceed to the step below.
    5. Open the folder containing the Flash Catalyst setup. Browse to the
'packages' folder and rename the file 'install.sig' to 'update.sig'. Double
click and launch the Flash Catalyst setup. This will not install the
application but install the Adobe Application Manager. Let me know if you
see a small dialog with a progress bar. Rename back update.sig to
install.sig. Update us your observations. Continue to next step.
    6. Launch 'Disk Utility' app (from /Applications/Utilities). Select your OS
partition in the left panel and click on 'First Aid' tab on the top. Click
on the 'Repair Disk Permissions' button at the bottom.
    7. Again, launch the Flash Catalyst setup and check if installation proceeds
successfully. If it doesn't, proceed to the step below.
    8. Open a Terminal window and navigate to the directory containing the Flash
Catalyst setup. Run the command 'sudo Install.app/Contents/MacOS/Install'
and enter the password. Let me know if the installer launches and on
following the screen instructions do you still see the error screen or does
    the installation proceed successfully.

  • Oracle EM and OVM management--where to start?

We are interested in evaluating EM for OVM control, but after a quick glance through the docs it's by no means clear how to start. We have not used EM before this and it's a daunting prospect.
What I'm interested to know is:
    1. What is the minimum amount of parts I need to download and install to get OVM management under EM working for a simple environment?
    2. Does it really require a full oracle DB installation or will it work with XE?
    3. What plugins and agents etc. are/are not required?
It looks simple enough on paper but the EM framework has an enormous amount of apparatus most of which it seems we don't need.
    Any pointers greatly appreciated!

  • BO Edge 4.0 Installer stuck on "Run command-line executable"

    Hi,
Our BO Edge BI Server 4.0 Installer on Windows Server 2008R2 is stuck on one of the last steps; "Run command-line executable".
Before is was stuck on "WaitForCMSForTheFirstTime". We upped the RAM to 16GB and then the installer went past this, but after a full reset of the server and trying again it is now stuck a few steps later on "Run command-line executable". This is very frustrating, especially since there is no error message at all, no install log and the installer is just stuck indefinitely and we had to cancel it.
At that point the Central Configuration Manager shows this:
    Apache Tomcat - Running
    BW Publisher Service - Stopped
SAP BO Mobile Authentication Server - Stopped
SAP BO Mobile Processing Server - Stopped
    Server Intelligence Agent - Running
We can't deinstall from Windows to start over at this point because the installer says an install is in progress.
    What is going on?
    Help urgently needed and appreciated

    Hello,
Yes, certain stages run for a long duration. "Run command-line executbale" runs for atleast 45 mins. It's normal.
My suggestion would be to leave it for 45 mins-90 mins.
Now that you have interrupted your installtion, try uninstalling it through the control panel.
In case you can't see the software there, then you have to edit registry entries, which is very tiresome.
