OVS Search Help in Web Dyrnpro Java Online Interactive Form

Hi Experts,
Is there any  OVS Search Help control we can use in Online Interactive Form as a as we have in Web Dynpro java. Can we assign this search help to any existing control.
If it is not possible can we call a Web Dynpro View as a popup from Intefactive Form such that field search can be done in popup window and on selection the resultant record should populate to Interactive Form control.
Please suggest me feasible solutions
Thanks
Chinna..

  • OVS Search Help

    Hi,
    I am using OVS search help for an input field.
    I want to know whether it is possible to use personal value list in OVS, Like one in dictionary search help.
    If yes, then how to proceed for that and also suggest any dummy program if possible.
    Regards
    Pankaj Aggarwal

    Hi Pankaj,
          I think, 'personal value list' in value help is only possible for Dictionary Search Helps, but not for OVS & Freely programmed. Check out the NOTE section of the [link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/47/9ef8cc9b5e3c5ce10000000a421937/content.htm]. It says below.
    Before programming your own input helps, see whether your input helps can be depicted using an ABAP Dictionary search help. If you consistently use the search help and thus the default input helps, your Web Dynpro application is more uniform. In addition, the ABAP Dictionary search help allows you to maintain a personal values list (favorites).
    This clearly means that, PERSONAL VALUE LIST is only for dictionary helps.
    Incase if you use mix of dictionary helps & OVS helps and to make your WD application uniform, its recommended to disable PERSONAL VALUE LIST for dictionary helps.
    Hope it answers your question.
    Regards,
    Manne.

  • Search help for Web Dynpro using the SAP-search help

    Hi,
    I’m trying to create a generic search help for Web Dynpro using the SAP-search help. It should working so, that I construct a Web Dynpro-component, that gets the data of the search help from the SAP-system, interpreted it and creates the ui-elements and the needed context generic.
    The mapping between the Input field of the customerview and the right search help is to be made with an xml-file, which contains the information: name of the view, the input field, the search-help-name and the name of the field that will be returned.
    The xml-file is reading from a helper-class. That helper-class contains any information, witch need the search help-component as well as the customer-component.
    The initialization takes place in the method wdDoModify of the customer. The call of the search help from the customer should be implement with an Action, witch is bound to a Button(create dynamic in the helper-class behind the input field).
    In a second foot should be create a plugin for eclipse, witch insert the used files (search help component, helper class, …) in the project. In addition it should create the call in the customer generic.
    It would be great if someone can give me a feedback!

    Hi Mike,
    The BlanketAgreement.exe is a reference to the executable that will be created when you compile the solution you created in Part II - Part III. I think there is a mistake in the tutorial because it asks you to name the project 'Blanket' which means that by default the executable will be called Blanket.exe and not BlanketAgreement.exe. The tutorial also misses the step asking you to compile the Blanket project before you go on to create an installer. You should compile your Blanket project in Release mode before creating an installer. By compiling the project you'll get a Blanket.exe file in the bin folder of your Blanket project which you then need to add to the installer per the instructions.
    SAP do offer development courses in some areas and there is training material here on the SDN and on the SAP partner portal (and maybe the customer portal as well). Try searching this forum for 'training' or 'tutorial' and you should get a few links. There's also a development certification.
    Personally I'd recommend you give yourself a little project to work on and just get stuck in
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

    Hi friends, I have a prblem with OVS component layout

    Basically in my product search.. there is already an OVS component created.. in the Z component layout.. jus the result table is been designed. I dnt see any other UI elements availble in that layout. (like input field to accept vaules on OVS), .. so i was wondering how to create a new button.
    this was developed by others;s so .. i m fighting with this and not able to get anything from sdn aswell.. pls help me.
    And also when they enter values in input fields.. instead of clicking search.. they wanted to hit ENTER key on keyboard... and result shoud display.. how to achieve this..
    sorry im very sorry but pls take out some time and help me out.
    I want one more button COPY on OVS search help. just under the SEARCH button... and also the search shud start once i hit ENTER key on keyboard.
    pls help on this.
    Niraja

    Hi Niraja,
    As how discussed in the email we can get this additional push button as how desired by enhancing the standard component WDR_OVS. Just click on the "Enhance" (spiral kind of button) button present in the application toolbar & create an Enhancement Implementation for the component. Now within this standard component you have the corresponding layout present in the SEARCH view. So go to this view & make the necessary changes. From now on what all components which declare a component usage of the WDR_OVS would be getting this newly modified UI & functionality.

    Uday

  • How to set column names in OVS search help of ALV EDIT

    Hi All,
    I have a OVS search help for my ALV EDIT column.This OVS will have two columns,I need to give the names(name1 , name2)  to the columns.
    I am writing the below codo in phase 0.
          ls_text-name = 'Column1'.
          ls_text-value = 'name1'.
          INSERT ls_text INTO TABLE lt_column_texts.
          ls_text-name = 'Column2'.
          ls_text-value = 'name2'.
          INSERT ls_text INTO TABLE lt_column_texts.
          ovs_callback_object->set_configuration(
                    label_texts  = lt_label_texts
                    column_texts = lt_column_texts
                    group_header = lv_group_header

    Below code in Phase 3.
          Assign ovs_callback_object->selection->* to <ls_selection>.
          if <ls_selection> is assigned.
            ovs_callback_object->context_element->set_attribute(
            name = `ATR1`
            value = <ls_selection>-Column1 ).
          endif.
    But,the column names are not getting set.Please provide your inputs.
    Regards,
    Salma

    hi,
    About your requirement, i don't know why you need to code in "Phase 3" of OVS.
    "Phase 3" is used for transporting your selected value to Your ALV.
    I think, the reason why you loose the result table including your customized column title, is that you loose the "Phase 2".
    Generally, in the past i used OVS as the following code simply.Just one example:
    * declare data structures for the fields to be displayed and
    * for the table columns of the selection list, if necessary
      types:
        begin of lty_stru_input,
    *   add fields for the display of your search input here
          carrid type string,
          connid type string,
        end of lty_stru_input.
      types:
        begin of lty_stru_list,
    *   add fields for the selection list here
          carrid type string,
          connid type string,
          text   type string,
        end of lty_stru_list.
      data: ls_search_input  type lty_stru_input,
            lt_select_list   type standard table of lty_stru_list,
            ls_text          type wdr_name_value,
            lt_label_texts   type wdr_name_value_list,
            lt_column_texts  type wdr_name_value_list,
      case ovs_callback_object->phase_indicator.
        when if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_0.  "configuration phase, may be omitted
    *   in this phase you have the possibility to define the texts,
    *   if you do not want to use the defaults (DDIC-texts)
          ls_text-name = 'CARRID'.  "must match a field name of search
          ls_text-value = 'Search Field-Carrid'.
          insert ls_text into table lt_label_texts.
          ls_text-name = 'CONNID'.  "must match a field name of search
          ls_text-value = 'Search Field-Connid'.
          insert ls_text into table lt_label_texts.
          ls_text-name = 'CARRID'.  "must match a field in list structure
          ls_text-value = 'Result-Carrid'.
          insert ls_text into table lt_column_texts.
          ls_text-name = 'CONNID'.  "must match a field in list structure
          ls_text-value = 'Result-Connid'.
          insert ls_text into table lt_column_texts.
          ls_text-name = 'TEXT'.  "must match a field in list structure
          ls_text-value = 'Result-Text'.
          insert ls_text into table lt_column_texts.
          lv_group_header = 'Group Header'.
          lv_window_title = 'Window Title'.
          lv_table_header = 'Table Header'.
          ovs_callback_object->set_configuration(
                    label_texts  = lt_label_texts
                    column_texts = lt_column_texts
                    group_header = lv_group_header
                    window_title = lv_window_title
                    table_header = lv_table_header
                    col_count    = 3
                    row_count    = 8 ).
    when if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_2.
    *   If phase 1 is implemented, use the field input for the
    *   selection of the table.
    *   If phase 1 is omitted, use values from your own context.
          if ovs_callback_object->query_parameters is not bound.
    ******** TODO exception handling
          endif.
          assign ovs_callback_object->query_parameters->*
                                  to <ls_query_params>.
    SELECT * INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE lt_select_list FROM ZTABLE_FLIGHT
                           WHERE CARRID LIKE lw_carrid
                                 AND CONNID LIKE lw_connid
    *ovs_callback_object->set_output_table( output = lt_select_list ).*
    Hope it can help.

  • Creating Search Help for Web Dynpro ABAP (FPM) Forms

    Dear All ,
    I am very new with SAP HCM P&F with FPM form. I am stuck with field search help functionality in FPM form. I have created on search help using
    Web dynpro component to get all travel requests for all employees and linked it to FPM form field and its working fine....
    But.... my requirement is how to filter travel request based on the PERNR (employee number) field in FPM form.
    I think it can be achieved by using importing parameter LISTENER of interface IF_WD_VALUE_HELP_LISTENER but I am clueless how to pass PERNR to this interface to get travel requests for only employee number in field PERNR.
    Kindly help me out in this issue.
    Chohan

    Use this code in set_value_help_listener
    for e.g to read effective date.
    wd_this->help_listener->f4_context_element->get_attribute( EXPORTING name = 'EFFECTIVE_DATE' IMPORTING value =  wd_this->gv_eff_date ).

  • Search Help with Web Dynpro call on another system

    Hi all,
    I have to create a search help with web dynpro on a field but the database is on another system... How can I do?
    Many Thanks in advance...

    I would use a search help exit. Nothing WDA specific here, as this has been possible long before WDA came around.  With a search help exit you define the search help like normal, but instead of database table or view being the source of selection, you have a function module.  Within the coding of this function module you can call an RFC to read data from another system or call a web service if you need to bridge over to something that isn't ABAP based.
    You can read more about Search Help Exits here:

    Question 2:

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
    1. I you are woking from the Web Dynpro for ABAP then after binding the Context variable in the view, and in the Adobe Layout Designer from the Library goto WebDynpro Native Tab and drag and drop the Value Help and for this automatically JavaScript is being generated, go that script and edit the line
    Var fieldname = "yourfieldname";
    Note: dont forget to link the context attribute to search help. ie. in the context properties of the attributes select the input help mode as dictionary search help and specify the name of the search help present in data dictionary.
    And now go to Utilities and click on u201CInsert Web Dynpro Scriptu201D.
    Also make sure that you specify the Layout as ZCI Layout in the Propertioes of the Adobe Form.
    2. Only the Submit button , the Enumerated Drop-Down List as well as the Value help button from the Web Dynpro Native library of Adobe LiveCycle Designer are supported. Check SAP Note: 1098009

  • F4 Help online interactive form

    Hi,
    Im designing an online interactive form in WD ABAP. I got the context from a BAPI and mapped to view context. Now how to map F4 field from data view to UIelemnt?
    Im dragging value help dropdown list from webdynpro activex palette to the form and selecting that field from dataview and dropping on the value help dropdown which i placed before. Doing like this the field is changing to text filed.
    Is this the right of way doing for getting f4 helps in to interactive form? Should my filed in dataview should have anyother properties to be a f4 help?
    Can some one help me on this?
    Regards,
    J.Smitha

    Hi Jawaji,
    Here is a note about input helps...
    [Note 1035630 - ISR WebDynpro ABAP UI: Input helps from ABAP Dictionary|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1035630]
    Also, when you defined your form, under the properties tab, what did you select for the Layout Type?  There is:
    - Unknown Layout Type,
    - xACF Layout
    - ZCI Layout
    - Standard Layout
    You should be choosing the ZCI Layout.  Then from inside your form, you want to select the Value Help Dropdown List from the Web Dynpro Native library, not the ActiveX one, unless your form is of type xACF.
    Once you have the element on the screen, go to the Object tab and select the Binding tab.  Under Default Binding, navigate to the field that you want bound to the dropdown.
    Next, select the Field tab.  You should see a parameter there called List Items.  If it is not green and underlined green, click on the little black triangle that points to the right, and select Show Dynamic Properties.
    Then click on the green List Items link.  Inside the popup, you want to put the following line of code in the Items binding:
    $record.sap-vhlist.FIELD_NAME\.DATA\.FIELD.item[*]
    where FIELD_NAME is the name of the field that you have previously bound to the dropdown.  I'm not 100% sure on this line, this is what works when developing an HCM Process & Form form.
    Hope this helps...
    Cheers,
    Kevin
