OWA iview

Hello all,
When accessing the Outlook Web Access(OWA)2003 by url, it works fine. But when I tried to create the url iview and pointing to the same owa url, it does not work. Did I miss any other configuration? can i integrate the whole OWA into the portal using just the url instead of single component like inbox, calendar ect...?

Configuration of Outlook Web Access iViews
iViews that are created from the generic template of the SAP Application Integrator component can be used for quickly integrating the inbox, calendar, task, and contacts folders on the Microsoft Exchange Server. You can integrate this iView into a SAP Enterprise Portal framework page.
Proceed as follows to configure an Outlook Web Access iView.
1. Select New From Portal Archive and then iview.
2. Select the SAP Enterprise Portal application com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap and choose Next.
3. On the next screen, choose Generic and Next.
4. On the iView Wizard, enter the iView Name and ID for the new namespace, and choose Next.
5. Select Open for editing when wizard completes, and choose Finish.
6. In the Property Editor for Property Category choose Show All.
7. Scroll down and set the iView property URL template as URL to your target application. You configure the following link as follows:
http://<server_hostname>:<port>/Exchange
8. Replace <server_hostname> and <port> with the Microsoft Exchange server name and port.
9. Save the iView

OWA iViews and EP - configuration problem

Hi All,
since EP60 SP2 P3 HF3 there are several OWA iViews under
Collaboration folder. According to SAP note 739911 alias of portal
user and exchange user (or exchange mailbox) MUST be identical to
connect to OWA.
Using Application Integrator "HOW TO..." I've tried to break this
condition above. But it does not work OK.
1. I've created Exchange system with UIDPWD logon method
2. I've mapped portal login with exchange login (in my case these are
not identical...)
In OWA iView Calendar:
3. I've set property system to above created system
4. I've set property URL Template to
http://owa.orion.myorg.org:81/Exchange/<Authentication>
5. I've set property "URL template fraction for user mapping" to <MappedUser>/Calendar/?cmd=contents
Test user has: Portal login: test ; exchange login:test_exchange
Preview is blank. But...when I saw properties of page link to OWA was
correct:
http://owa.orion.myorg.org:81/Exchange/test_exchange/Calendar.
When I copied this link to new window -> result was OK.

I think I've found the solution.
1) Download the com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap
2) Inside .par file try to find:
 PORTAL-INF\portalapp.xml
3) Add extra lines:
 
 <property name="RequestMethod" value="GET">
 <property name="personalization" value="none"/>
 <property name="inheritance" value="final"/>
 </property>
under G E N E R I C part of file.
4) Find PORTAL-INF\Property\Generic\SSO-Layer.properties
5) Add at the end of file extra lines:
RequestMethod
 #RequestMethod = <no value>
 RequestMethod.type=select[GET,POST]
 RequestMethod.default=GET
6) Using Support>Administration Console upload .par file again into EP.
7) Check the result of OWA iView preview.
In my case it helped!

Portal OWA iView logon popup issue

Hello,
I have configured web outlook (owa) access via iView and everything is working fine, except that the user is seeing logon popup every time when the new browser session is started. Our portal is only used within intranet environment. Is there way to suppress this logon popup?

We have looked at the logs on exchange server and see the following info:
15:59:28 9028/8308 E getAccountFromCookie: Ticket is NOT valid

OWA iView configuration

Hi,
I'm trying to configure Outlook Web Access iViews in EP 7.0
http://<server_hostname>:<port>/Exchange/User.UserID/Inbox/?cmd=contents
In the above URL Template im replacing it with my server name.
But Page cannot be displayed error is prompting.
i cud access OWA by sepeartely in the browser using
http://<servername>/Exchange
Please guide wat port number shud be given in the url.

Logging of the OWA kills portal session

Hi,
I have integrated OWA iViews into Portal.
The problem im facing is when im clicking the logoff button on the OWA
iViews, the Portal session is killed.
I confirmed this from the SAP Note 732911
Could you please provide me with any updated solution or work around.

The Problem has no solution as of now. It is confirmed when i raised an OSS Note for the same.
According to the JSR page 63 line 25
For portlets within the same portlet application, a portlet container must ensure that every portlet request generated as result of a group of requests originated from the portal to complete a single client request receive or acquire the same session.
In addition, if within these portlet requests more than one portlet creates a session, the session object must be the same for all the portlets in the same portlet application.
Hope this will help others immediately...without spending a long time by searching and raising OSS notes.

EP60 : Business Package for Communication & Exchange

Hello, I see that the Business Package for Communication isn't supported on SAP EP 6.0 SP2. Is there any other package available which can be used for Exchange integration and EP60 SP2? Sorry if this is an obvious answer but I am new to portals and part of our project sign off was the ability to do exchange integration.

Please note that the Business Package for Communication was only available for SAP EP 5.0. Newer releases of SAP EP contain the groupware (GW) functionalities and some GW iViews automatically as soon as KM is installed with the EP. The integration with MS Exchange 2003 should work. If you look for iViews such as Send EMail, Create Appointment, Show availability and Room Calendar, you can use the iViews shipped by SAP. If however you need the EMail inbox or the personal calendar and tasks, then the native OWA iViews are the way to go. Business Package for Communication with NW04 and Exchange 2003?

Hi, we are evaluating opportunities to realize a groupware integration in the SAP Portal EP60SP2. A upgrade to Netweaver is planned, so the possible solution should work with Netweaver too. Our Exchange version is 2003.
I'm thinking about the standard SAP Groupware-Integration in combination with the Business Package for Communication.
Has anyone expirences with the Business Package for communication, Netweaver and Exchange 2003, yet?
I know, it's not officially supported, but maybe it works.
With the OWA-iViews we've got problems to implement our Styleguide and to devide into different iViews. The informations shown in the iViews of the Business Package are adequate and we would save ActiveX.
Is there another solution that works?
Are there other iViews from 3rd party developers, that show Outlook informations? Has anyone realized something like this in a project yet?
I would be grateful for any ideas.

Outlook Web Access & User Mapping

Hello everyone,
I know this question has been asked often and I have attempted to read as many messages related to this topic as I possibly can but I haven't been able to locate an answer that works (or that I fully understand).
I'm running EP6.0, SP13 on a Windows 2003 server.
Our corporate email is running Exchange 2000 SP3.
I've been able to successfully setup my Exchange Transport in that I am able to successfully connect to the Calendar repository and I have been able to create my SAP-provided Outlook Web Access iViews.
My question/problem that I have is, is there a way to get around the fact that when a user first accesses the OWA iviews, they get prompted for their domain user ID and password?
I setup User Mapping for the Exchange server and figured that would get around a user having to enter their user name and password.
Is that not the case?
I've reviewed the documents: "How to...Create iViews to Access Exchange Data", "How to analyze Microsoft Exchange integration with SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0" and "Integration of Outlook Web Access (OWA) into SAP Enterprise Portal" but haven't found a definitive answer.

Getting Error in SSO with OWA scenario.

Hi All,
I am trying the SSO with OWA with EP 6.0 SP13. I am refering the document " Integration Of OutLook Web Access into SAP Enterprise Portal "
I am getting following error:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
Unknown Logon Method 'null' for system 'SSO_OWA'.
See the details for the exception ID in the log file.
I do not find any option which allows me to specify the Login Method While creating a system, in SP13.
What should I do to get the successful implementation?

There are three methods for creating a new system
1. Use the XML profile in a deployed PARfile
The new system inherits all the global properties defined in the PAR file component. It inherits property names, meta attributes and any default property values.
2. Use an existing template.
If the template was created directly from the PAR file, the new system is identical to the one generated by the first method. If the template has undergone changes, the system inherits the changes made to the property attributes in the template.
3. Copy an existing system
The procedure you use to create a system is not application-sensitive.
You run the same wizard for creating the system for any of the applications to which the portal provides connectors, or for which you have created and deployed a PAR file. The differences reside in the XML profiles, whose properties are determined by the application being defined, as each application has some unique connectivity requirements.

Outlook Web Access (OWA) - Sidebar has vanished.

I am having trouble with my Outlook Web Access (OWA) which I use to access my work email from home. Unfortunately, I am not able to access the same functions like flagging emails ect. More importantly, I can't seem to get the sidebar to show. This is the sidebar that I use to move between folders ect. I am only able to see the list of emails. Anyone have any ideas on what I need to do to fix this? I can't even find the Logout button. Thanks so much for your help!

maybe you can do a little trick on the HTML page:
1. Display it as an URL iView
2. Instead of deleting the button in the HTML, take a look at the HTML code, the CSS is .nbButton. Maybe you can change this for the logoff Button (eg: to .logoffButton, with the same properties as .nbButton)
3. In the portal, overwrite the logoffButton CSS so, that visibility = false. Because the portal CSS will only be used in the portal, you can maintain just 1 version of the OWA HTML file and still have the ability to "hide" the logoff Button.

Can not view ABC iView on tablet

I am unable to get ABC iView to work on a 10 inch tablet with Android 4. iView works perfectly with the 'Dolphin' browser but I only get a blank screen after iView says to "Tap here to activate plugin".

I have tried that and now I just get a blank screen instead of the "Tap here to activate plugin" message. I have also tried disabling plugins and then get ABC's opening screen with the warning "Your browser does not seem to be supported. iView requires Adobe Flash Player 10 and Javascript to be enabled". There are no such add-ons for android in the Mobile Add-ons page.
I was assuming they are built in to the Android version of FireFox because many web sites require them.

Open iView in new WINDOW for CATW

HI All,
We are on Netweaver2004s and the browser used is either Internet Explorer 7 (Microsoft Vista) or Mozilla Firefox.
Now what I need help on is that I have a link on my page that says "Report Your Time", this link calls the Internet Service CATW via the ITS from my R/3 and opens the TIMESHEET (which is an iView) to be filled in by the user in a new window.
On this TIMESHEET I have a link called as "EXIT" , now after the timesheet is filled and saved, the user should use this "EXIT" link to leave the window. The code behind "EXIT" is so written by SAP that it kills the user's session. But not always and all user's use this "EXIT" link, they generally close the window by browser's (X) close button. This causes the user to get locked in the backend.
So far I have been able to trap the browser's (X) close button and kill the session by using "setOKCode('/nex')". This works fine in I.E 6 (which has no tabs) and if the user closes Mozilla Firefox from the top (X) close button of the browser.
BUT, in I.E 7 and mozilla firefox, when the user clicks on "Report Your Time" link on my page, a new tab opens and the TIMESHEET is displayed on this tab within the same browser window, so after filling and saving the timesheet when the user closes the (TIMESHEET) tab, the session does not get killed and the user gets locked in the backend. Here, if the user had closed the entire browser window by using the the top (X) close button of the browser, instead of just closing the tab containing the TIMESHEET, then his session would have been killed by my code.
This is the code that identifies if the user has clicked on top (X) close button of the browser. But this code does not identify if a browser's tab is closed.

In the above I check clientY property of the event object, which is used to set or retrieve the y-coordinate of the mouse pointer's position relative to the client area of the window, excluding window decorations and scroll bars.
Is there a way to capture the closing of a browser's tab. A way by which I can trap the event raised when the browser window's tab is closed.
This has to be done via "Java Script" since the code will be placed in the HTML template in SE80.

Hi Aviad,
You could set "fullscreen=yes" (without quotes) for the property called "Window Features" (technical name: "com.sapportals.portal.navigation.WinFeatures") on the navigation element in question (iView or, if existent, surrounding page). Take care, this opens the window without frame and toolbar (closable by ALT-F4).
To get a 100% screen (with toolbar, frame etc), you have to calculate the clients resolution before, using JS for example. So you would need to build a workaround, for example an iView with no output but opening a new window with a certain NavURL as target.

Excel service and OWA - getting ERROR while trying to open/edit Excel documents

We have configured SharePoint 2013 with Excel Service and OWA (Office Web Apps).
After configuring, we are able to view/edit Word or PowerPoint documents from the browser (as OWA is configured). But we are getting errors while trying to open/edit Excel documents.
We are not able to view/edit the excel workbook from the browser (through OWA).
To open the excel in the browser, decision has to be taken at the farm level on what to be used – Excel Service or OWA Server? Is it possible to do setting at site collection level?

How can I use ONE Text search iView to event/affect mutliple Result Sets?

hello everyone,
i have a special situation in which i have 6 flat tables in my repository which all have a common field called Location ID (which is a lookup flat to the Locations table).
i am trying to build a page with a free-form text search iView on Table #1 (search field = Location ID). when I execute the search, the result set for Table #1 is properly updated, but how do I also get Result Set iViews for Tables #2-6 to also react to the event from Text Search for Table #1 so that they are updated?
i don't want to have to build 6 different text search iViews (one for each table). i just want to use ONE text search iView for all the different result set tables. but, in the documentation and iView properties, the text search iView doesn't have any eventing.

hello Donna,
that should not be a problem, since you are detailw with result sets and detail iviews because custom eventing can be defined for those iviews.
Yes, it says "no records" found because an active search and record selection havent' been performed for it (only your main table does).
So, yes, define a custom event, and pass the appropriate parameters and you should be fine.
Creating a custom event between a Result Set iView and an Item Details iView is easy and works. I have done it.
See page 35 of the Portal Content Development Guide for a step-by-step example, which is what I used.
For my particular situation, the problem I'm having is that I want the Search Text iView's event (i.e., when the Submit button is pressed) to be published to multiple iViews, all with different tables. Those tables all share some common fields, which is what the Search iView has, so I'd like to pass the search critera to all of the iViews.

How can I set OWA to use Public by default and hide that section from OWA?

I have an Exchange 2013 deployment that needs a customized OWA page. I've already run Set-OwaVirtualDirectory "ex1\owa*" -LogonPagePublicPrivateSelectionEnabled $True to show the Public option. I've also edited the logon.aspx
file to set the checkbox to be unchecked by default. My problem is I need to hide that entire line, I don't want users to see that section at all as if I never ran the above command. When I was testing hiding it with  it hid it but
caused that piece to stop working as it went back to private. Has anyone been able to accomplish this or can clue me in on how to do this? Thank you in advance.
