OWA on IE 11 missing PUBLIC FOLDERS, TASKS, NOTES

My Internet Explorer 11 computer opens a Outlook Web Access in the navigation pane is redesigned. Missing from this pane are PUBLIC FOLDERS, NOTES and TASKS.  My other computer with an earlier version of IE continues to open the conventional Outlook
Web Access with its full navigation pane. Can I restore this functionality to the navigation pane on OWA on IE 11?

  • Public Folders Assistant not forwarding and replying to emails

    Hi All,
We have an issues with our Public Folders Assistant not forwarding and replying to any emails. This was working with EX2007 for 6 years and EX2013 for the last year. All of the sudden all of the mail enabled PF stopped working. We can receive emails but
that is it. Can't find any event logs pertaining to this issue. We have not installed any Windows or Exchange updates prior to this happening. We use Office 2010 and 2013.

    Hi,
Do you have public folders in Exchange 2007?
In Exchange 2007, you can increase logging level for "MSExchangeIS\9001 Public\Rules" to a higher level. In Exchange 2013, this event is removed.
Besides, please try to change the conditions for public folder assistant rule to check result.

  • Public folders are not in sync after settting up Replicas between Exchange 2003 and 2010

I have setup Public Folder replicas between the 2 Exchange servers and I can see all the top and sub level folders.
For those mailboxes that were migrated over to Exchange 2010,  I have noticied  a lower number of item contents in these fodders when views from an Outlook client whose mailbox had been migrated over to Exchange 2010.
On Exchange 2003 System Manager, if I properties one of the Public Folders, under the Replicataion tab, I can see the old and new server there. On the Exchange server 2003 box, I can see the last update reviced was a few weeks ago.
I did see an option to synchronize content but I am not sure which server to run this one from. The Exchange 2003 or 2010 server.
There is also a Resend Changes... option. Should I use this instead?
    Can anyone advise?

    Hi,
The "Resend changes" and "Synchronize content" options in Exchange 2003 ESM are used to initiate hierarchy and content replication.
To update public folder hierarchy and content from Exchange 2010 side, you can use the following commands.
    Update-PublicFolderHierarchy
    Update-PublicFolder
Please run the Get-publicfolderstatistics cmdlet to get public folder details such as item count, this information will help you compare content replicated between the source and destination servers.
Besides, here is a blog about public folder replication troubleshooting for your reference.

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 - RU3 RU4 Public Folders issues ( not refreshing ) when grouping by Categories for "(None)" Group

After installing Exchange 2010 SP3 RU3, I had an issue in Public Folders, once having group by categories in Outlook, the Group of "(None)" categories is not refreshing when changing flag... I also installed RU4 but nothing changed, any reason
    Thx

    Hi,
From your description, the group with none categories won’t fresh when changing flag in Category view. If I misunderstood, please point it out.
As you can in the View tab as below, there is Category as well as Flag: Start date or Due Date. It means that grouping per color categories is more or less different from that
    grouping by flag.
Should you need more assistance, feel free to tell me.

  • Network account public folders are not shared?

Ok - I have posted before... but I have done more looking and have confirmed:
When I log into my mac using a network account, my public folder is not shared for guest users. I have set the permissions for my Public folder: chmod -R 0777 /Public but this does not help - the share is not visible. I can only imagine that there is a config file somewhere... maybe accessible through netinfo? Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks,
    Davod

    Heh... no problem.
Well, I am the network administrator.
Since the network account(s) I am referring to are MS Active Directory accounts (opposed any other LDAP or OS X Server Open Directory accounts), there is no other NetInfo database other than what is local to the Mac workstation.
I don't know why Apple thought it was more secure to lock down file sharing like this. I say that because the alternative (that I have seen in practice anyway) is to have all users run as an admin account all the time. Then when users want to access a coworkers files over the network, they are sharing thier (admin) account passwords to do so. It just seems really backwards to me is all. Run as least privilege. I always thought that was computing 101.
Anyway, this question is expanding, because there are scenarios where a user will get external hard drives from a client, and plug them into thier Mac. THey may want to have a coworker access some of the files on these drives for assistance with the job or whatever... but the drives do not show up just as the user's public folder does not show up.
Has anyone had good luck using a Preferences Panel applet called SharePoints? It seems like it could help me to solve this sharing dilema...
    Thanks...

  • Public Folders Assistant not forwarding emails

Hi All, I know this issue has come up plenty of times, but after a week of research I still can't get it fixed.
The problem is this,  I have created a test email enabled public folder (hosted on exchange 2010).  I have owner rights and send as rights (both tested and working) to the folder.  In Outlook 2010 I have successfully created and
public folder assistant rule to forward all emails to a different
internal address.  The public folder receives emails fine, but the incoming emails never get forwarded.  No NDR's, no event logs, nothing :(
To try and fix this have:
created a transport rule for the test public folder email address.  This works perfectly, but I want end users to manage the rule so not a suitable solution.
Enabled "Allow automatic replies" and "Allow automatic forward" options in the default (and only) domain in Hub Transport > Remote domain and restarted all exchange servers.  I assume however, that is only meant for auto replies
    and forwards going externally.
Checked ADSI edit for any legacy exchange servers (this is fresh install so grasping at straws here):http://blog.samkendall.net/2010/09/07/exchange-2007-to-2010-migration-public-folder-issue-fix/
I have now run out of ideas, so any help would be gratefully received!
    Thanks,
    Ed.

There is nothing in the application log that points to this issue
The above example is from a test public folder I have created (I have created a few tests now, all have the same problem).
The Outlook rule I created is exactly the same as the example you gave, and I did get the message saying it would work for all emails.
I am really banging my head with this one now!

  • Unable to open Public Folders in Outlook or OWA (Exchange 2010)

Exchange 2010 Public folders can not be opened from Outlook or from OWA, in the ADIS I do not see Folder Hierarchies.  Under the public folder Management Console,i get an error that states "You cant perform this operation because public folder
database isnt mounted.  Please mount it and try afain,  It wsas running the command ger-publicfolder -getchildren -identity "\"-server 'MBXserver'"

Run "Get-PublicFolderDatabase" and see what it says the status of the database is.  This error implies that the database in offline.  You will also want to find the status of your public folder copies.
    Get-PublicFolder -Recurse | Ft
    or
    Get-PublicFolder -Recurse | Export-Csv PublicFolderStatus.csv -NoTypeInformation
The first will work if you are checking a small number of folders, but you'll want the latter if you have many of them.

  • Exchange 2013 SP1: Public Folders in OWA

    Hello!
Tell me please should I be able to use Public Folders in OWA 2013 SP1? I can see them on People tab of OWA, I can send mail to them, but I don't see them on Mail tab (in the folder tree):
    Thank you in advance,
    Michael

    Hello,
In Exchange 2013 OWA, we can only see public folders on Directory by default. If you add public folder under Favorites, please follow the Martina's suggestion.
Besides, you can't create or delete public folders.

  • OWA & Public Folders

OWA seems to work fine with the iPhone Safari, but if I try to look at public folders, it just hangs up. Tried restarting, etc., and it doesn't help.
Logging in as same user from a PC in Firefox, IE, Opra and Safari from both inside and outside the corporate network, and it works fine.
I've turned off pop-ups just in case that was a problem, but I never had a problem with the e-mail portion of OWA in iPhone Safari, just PUBLIC FOLDERS.

    Hello? Anyone here? HELP!

  • Problems with Public Folders in Exchange 2010

Last month I upgraded my servers from 2000 to 2010. The route I took for exchange was 2000 -> 2003 -> 2010. Everything went fairly smooth and I have had no real problems until this week. (I have uninstalled the older exchange servers.) I have been
trying to clean out some of the remnants that have been left over from the older servers (for whatever reason the uninstall did not remove the information on the new server). I used ASDI edit to remove some old information that was pointing to the old exchange
server (First Administration Group I think it was called).
After that I upgraded to SP1 and Rollup 1. The Public folder database no longer appears under Organization Configuration, Mailbox. I am not sure if it was there after my deletion or not, so I am unsure if the problem is caused by my deletions or the upgrade.
I followed the instructions found here, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727370%28EXCHG.80,printer%29.aspx . The CN=Public folders was found in CN=Folder Hierarchies. However
msExchOwningPFTree is greyed out, so I cannot update it. I have tried to delete it and remake it, same thing.
I also get the following events which I am assuming is caused by the Public Folders database not being mounted:

Also, the CN=InformationSore is empty. Is this normal?
Now I am assuming I deleted something that I shouldn't have.

Tried that, I get the following when I go to the Public Folder Management Console:
Cannot complete the operation because there isn't an available public folder database on server
And even if I did that how does that help me retrieve my missing information?

  • Why are emails in public folders being marked as read when viewed in the viewing pane when I have disabled this in settings

I am using office 2010 on a windows 7 PC. In outlook I have changed the settings for the reading pane so that emails are not marked as read unless I actually open them. This is working for emails in my inbox and outbox but not for emails in public
folders. Emails in public folders are marked as read as soon as I click on them. Do public folders have a different setting for marking email as read in the reading pane?
It is important for me that emails in the public folders are not marked as read when i click on them as I need to read through hundreds of project emails in these folders and need to be able to distinguish between emails I have read and actioned
and emails I have just clicked on while searching for an email I need. This folder serves as an archive for my emails so i cant delete them once I have read them. I also don't have permission to label them or create tasks from them.

    Hi,
I tested in my lab, it worked for public folders. My Outlook version is Outlook 2013.
Please open Outlook in safe mode to check result.
If possible, please check if this issue persists from a different client server.

  • Mail delivery to Public Folders stops when Public Folder database dismounted from old server. Old server to be decommisioned.

I have 2 Exchange 2010 SP3 RU6 servers.  All Mailboxes and Public Folders have been moved from the old server to the new one.  If I dismount the Public Folder database from the old server, delivery to mail enabled Public Folders stops.  I
believe resolving this is the last step before decommissioning this old server and uninstalling Exchange from it.
Before I delete the Public Folder database and/or uninstall Exchange from my old server, what do I need to do to setup routing/transport of email to Public Folders on my new server?
I've used the MoveAllReplicas.PS1 script successfully and believe nothing remains on the old server.  Do I simply need to remove all mail enabled Public folders now with the Remove-PublicFolder EMC command?  Or is it a background kind of task that
automatically updates after some period of time and then messages just start delivering directly to the new location of my Public Folders?

Hi and thanks for your suggestion, but Get-PublicFolderMoveRequest  is an Exchange 2013 command.  I first ran the MoveAllReplicas script, probably a month ago.  I've also used the RemoveReplicaFromPFRecursive script and
still it says that Replicase still exist within the Public Folder Database that I woul like to remove from my old server to be decommissioned.  I've read of other people trying to uninstall Exchange from an old server that have encountered this error,
causing the uninstall to fail.   Get-PublicFolderStatistics -Server "oldserver" | Format-List returns:

Here it shows the size and count are 0 (zero), so I should be good to go.  But, I am unable to remove it due to the Replicas Exist error.
Elsewhere, I found a suggestion to clear the checkmark in the OAB 'Distribution' settings regarding Public Folders, but that didn't help.  I've also seen posts saying to dismount the Public Folders, rename them and when mounting,
take the option to create a blank or empty Public Folder database.  When I did that, the mail enabled Public Folders did not resolve when sending emails.  I had to quick mount the saved copy of my Public Folder database.
So, regarding your suggestion, does Disabling and then Enabling mail enabled folders re-associate or register them with the current Public Folder database structure?
One more thing I found is that the get-mailpublicfolder command returns an error stating a folder is corrupt.
WARNING: The object ci.walla-walla.wa.us/Microsoft Exchange System Objects/Library Vacation Calendar has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened:
    WARNING: Property expression "Library Vacation Calendar" isn't valid. Valid values are: Strings formed with characters from A to Z (uppercase or lowercase), digits from 0 to 9, !, #, $, %, &, ', *, +, -, /, =, ?, ^, _, `, {, |, } or ~. One
or more periods may be embedded in an alias, but each period should be preceded and followed by at least one of the other characters. Unicode characters from U+00A1 to U+00FF are also valid in an alias, but they will be mapped to a best-fit US-ASCII
string in the e-mail address, which is generated from such an alias.
I don't see anything in the name of the folder, unless it actually has the " character embedded in it.  But what is also odd is that I don't have a folder called "Library Vacation Calendar".  It may be the remnant of something in the
past of a failed attempt.  I do have a folder called VacationCalendar that the Library uses, and have even exported to PST and recreated without any impact to this problem.  I do not know how to clear this condition, and assume it is responsible
for the Active Replicas error I get when trying to remove the PF database.

  • Migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 Public Folders coexistence

    Hi all, I'm migrating from Exchange 2007 SP3 to Exchange 2013 SP1.
I have an Exchange 2007 server (Client Access, Hub Transport and Mailbox Server) in Site A, mailboxes and Publics Folders
In another Site in Site B, I have already installed (Client Access and Mailbox Server) Exchange 2013 server.
I am migrating test users, the fact is that users who migrated to Exchange Server 2013 Public folders do not see.
How I can make the migrated users from viewing the Exchange 2007 Public Folders duration coexistence?
Is there a "how to" to migrate Public Folders from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013?
    thank you very much
Microsoft Certified IT Professional Server Administrator

    Hi,
In Exchange 2013, the Public Folder is changed to Public Folder mailbox instead of Public Folder in Exchange 2007 database.
Due to the changes in how public folders are stored, legacy Exchange mailboxes are unable to access the public folder hierarchy on Exchange 2013 servers. However, user mailboxes on Exchange 2013 servers or Exchange Online can connect to legacy
public folders. Exchange 2013 public folders and legacy public folders can’t exist in your Exchange organization simultaneously. This effectively means that
    there’s no coexistence between versions.
For this reason, it’s recommended that prior to migrating your public folders, you should
first migrate your all legacy mailboxes to Exchange 2013. For more information about migrating public folder from previous versions, please refer to:

  • Users could not open Public Folders in Outlook 2007 SP3.

Is anybody had this issue or probably know how to fix it?
We have Exchange 2013 server and users workstations with XP SP3 and Office 2007 SP3 installed. Exchange has users’ mailboxes and public folders. Public folders work OK until last week. Issue probably happened after latest CU update for Exchange 2013 installation.
Now users could not open Public Folders in their Outlook. The error is:
"Cannot expand the folder. Your profile is not configured. (/o=First Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=[email protected])"
And this "[email protected]" is public folder ContentMailboxGuid.
And this error message appears when user click on Public Folders \All Public Folders in Outlook. So company public folders do not even appear in All Public Folders folder. Users have Owner permissions for all Public Folders and Root Public folders.
Also one more error in Outlook about it:
“Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook cannot access the specified folder location.”
One more issue is that previous Exchange 2007 server died (RAID died) so we had to delete it from AD and clean its records in ADSIEdit (CN=configuration,DC=.domainname,DC=.COM > CN=Services > CN=Microsoft Exchange > CN=Organization > CN= Administrative
Groups > CN=(Groupname) > CN=Servers >) and install new server with Exchange 2013, and import all users mailboxes from backup. Public folders were not migrated from the old server because of its death. We create new public folders in Exchange and
then manually import all folders from latest .pst backup using user Outlook.
And it work OK more than a month till last week.
    Thanks,
    Andrey

    Hi Mavis,
    Thank you for your answer.
I check permissions couple of times for both public folder and its root and both are granted for users as “Owner” and applied to public folder and its subfolders.
This server has 2 mailbox stores and both are currently mounted.
    [PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-MailboxDatabase -Status |fl name,mounted
    Name    : Mailbox Database 2104233799
    Mounted : True
    Name    : MBDB1
    Mounted : True
But when I check homeMDB property for Microsoft System Attendant in ADSIEdit I found that it is empty.
And it looks like System Attendant mailbox & service have been removed from Exchange 2013.
    http://howexchangeworks.com/2013/05/cannot-open-microsoft-system-attendant-mailbox-error-during-exchange-2013-mailbox-move.html
    and even from Exchange 2010.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dvespa/archive/2009/10/06/say-so-long-to-the-system-attendant-mailbox.aspx
Also I check arbitration mailboxes and all are looks to be in default database “Mailbox Database 2104233799” which is currently mounted.
