OWA on windows 8.1 appears incomplete

Bought this computer about a year ago with windows 8, updated to windows 8.1. This is a personal computer that I use for business e-mail.
The company I work for uses Outlook Web Access for e-mail.
I somehow was able to get OWA on the computer, not sure how it was done. The issue is it does not seem complete. When I look at the screens of other coworkers using the same server they are different.My menu on the left has three options: Mail/Calendar/Contacts;
there is the usual list of 'deleted item', 'drafts', 'inbox', 'junk' and 'sent' folders beneath this and the choice of folders beneath these. When I go to 'manage folders' my only options are: 'create new folder', 'rename folder', 'move folder' and 'delete
folder'.
For one thing I cannot change the contacts within a distribution list, the options for this just aren't there.
I don't know if OWA is supposed to be an app, a stand alone program or is part of windows 8.1. It is frustrating to use this as I can't manage the files as I used to when I was using XP with OWA.
I have asked the IT person for the company I work for for assistance. He apparently is not familiar with 8.1. If I have to I will keep asking him for help on this, he is 3000 miles away and the timing is never right.
I have all the updates I know of installed for the OS and IE.
Any ideas on what my next step should be?

No difference whether I use IE or Mozilla for a browser.
So the fact that I am running 8.1 should have no bearing on this, as <mail.-----> is simply a URL that is controlled by my home office, correct?
I was of the opinion that OWA was a program that had to be loaded on to a computer - seems I was quite wrong about that too.
Could the fact that I am running 8.1 whereas the others are not be part or all of the cause of the differences? I believe I just copied over my files from the computer I was using the XP OS on to this computer. Could their server be part of the issue, not
updated for 8.1?
Anyway thanks for ending at least a part of my confusion.

Try using the find or locate Terminal commands to determine where the files are; the find command offers more options, while the locate command is faster but requires that the locate database is up to date.
The locate database is updated with the locate.updatedb command, which doesn't search network volumes by default.
In either case, you will need to know the name of one item stored in that account's home folder; if you're unsure, start with com.apple.finder.plist followed by identifying the correct line of the output.

How do I restart my macbook for updates without having it reset because the log in window, suddenly, now appears? I've never had this issue until a few days ago when there were updates available. Somewhere the settings were changed. I may have inadvertently changed a log in preference but can't trace it back.

That usually doesn't happen (unless you do not use automatic login) unless you boot into Safe Mode. When prompted do you enter your admin password? What happens when you do that?

The clip is intact and it has video and audio.
I have worked on it before and all was fine until I lost the work when it got frozen!
The issue is:
I have a (MOV.) ready clip that I wanted to edit a bit, hence I have imported the clip (import media) and whenever I try to work on it, the black screen prohibits me from doing anything.
Any ideas please ... It's really strange !

Popup window won't appear, even after allowing website in IE 10's popup blocker

I have tried desperately to download iTunes onto my Win7 computer, but even in Google Chrome 35 & IE 10, the popup window refuses to appear, & therefore I cannot download iTunes. What else is causing this? Is there a direct download link that I can email to myself to download iTunes? My iPhone 4s is almost full, & I need to take off some files to allow more room.

I'm using Chrome 35 (latest build):

Click on the green Download button (top right).
On the next screen, click the Download Now button
The installer should download immediately - no pop-up window - by default it'll be saved in C:\Downloads.

Speech Feedback Window Doesn't Appear

In the beginning, speech recognition worked with some commands, but simply didn't respond to most others. Then the speech commands window suddenly emptied itself. I got a temporary fix for that problem, but now I find that the speech feedback window doesn't appear at all.
I tried the advice in the help (switching it off and back on again; rebooting; deleting the com.apple.speech.recognition.feedback.prefs.plist) but it has not worked. And the plist file hasn't even recreated itself.
Please help if you can.

Hi. I followed the advice of another related thread and now I'm convinced it works.
There's a bug in Panther that cripples Speech Recognition when the Address Book is activated to respond to speech commands. (Maybe it's b/c Address Book overloads the SR system?)
Go to System Preferences > Speech > Speech Recognition. "Apple Speakable Items" is the only choice in my Recognition System window; so I didn't choose anything there but the default. Then, go down and make sure that Address Book is UNchecked (not On). I have all the other ones checked (On), such as Global Speakable Items and Application Specific Items, etc., and am not experiencing problems.
Hope this works for you. It seems to have worked for many others. I have no other advice! Best,

When opening a file of any type in Photoshop (CS4), the windows will not appear. Photoshop will open and I can see the layers on the right but the document window will not come up no matter what I try. I try closing down everything, double-clicking a layer, opening multiple windows, etc.. Any thoughts?

Can you post a screenshot of your entire Photoshop screen with a file loaded in and the layers panel showing?

Yeah. Apparently there was a hardware malfunction. I took it too the apple store and they replaced the top clamshell. The repairs would have cost around $750 if it wasn't under warranty. I recommend buying AppleCare when you can.

Inspector window doesn't appear

I suddenly find that the inspector window won't appear. Media, color & fonts windows are fine. Quitting Keynote, and restarting haven't helped.

Same problem here - the inspector is on the edge of the screen and I cannot move it back into view. Is reinstalling the only option? It seems like that is the #1 fix people give on these forums. Everyone knows reinstalling fixes things - the thing is most people don't want to reinstall.
