OWA Users Mailbox Size Inceasing

Hi Guyz,
Hope ur all doing good. I have a query regarding OWA, we have so many remote users who only uses OWA and cannot use outlook. Now their mailbox size are increasing, is there any way to archive their emails and still allowing them to access their archived
emails as well? Cannot use outlook and also dont have enough space to use Personal Archives option, please suggest any other solution or any tool
Virgo

Well the main question is why you want to archive the data in the first place? If they're accessing the email via webmail then what ever you do the messages will have to remain in Exchange, since there's no way for those users to access email exported in
a .pst file. Obviously that means there's little point archiving if the aim is to reduce the overall amount of disk space used by Exchange. Additionally, I can't imagine their mailboxes are large enough that Exchange can't handle the size of them.
However, if you wanted to do something like reduce the amount of data being backed up, by spitting the old messages out of the mailbox store holding them, then I guess one option would be to export those messages into a separate "archive" mailbox for each
user. That way if you have multiple mail stores configured you could move those archive mailboxes to a different store, with perhaps a smaller backup frequency etc.
Since OWA does allow users to open additional mailboxes that they have permission to, so long as you granted the users full mailbox permissions to their corresponding archive mailbox, they could then access the old data from OWA still. You can export the
messages using New-MailboxExportRequest
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607299(v=exchg.150).aspx and specify the period of time you want to archive. I can't see a method to directly archive from one mailbox to another, but you could use that to archive to .pst on the server, and
then use
New-MailboxImportRequest http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607310(v=exchg.150).aspx to import it into the archive mailbox.

    Hi,
    To get the size of a mailbox, we can use the Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlet to obtain information. In Exchange 2007, the ESM no longer exists. Where do you see the different mailbox size (15gb)? Do you mean EMC?
    In EMC, Recipient Configuration->Mailbox, right click on the user mailbox and choose
    Properties, under General tab, you can see the
    Size.

  • Exchange 2013 - EMC 2013 - View Mailbox Size With Column In EMC - How To View Mailbox Size Exchange 2013?

    Is there a way to add a column to show each users mailbox size in the EMC for Exchange 2013 under recipients > mailboxes?
    Such a simple tool would be so much easier for administrative purposes.

    Hi,
    There is no way to add the column of mailbox size back to EAC in Exchange 2013, I don't know why this option is removed and there is no official document explaining this issue.
    To get the mailbox size, we can use commands to get it.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Exchange 2007 servers reports mailbox size full, but mailbox shows empty in OWA or Outlook.

    When the users log into their mailboxes in OWA or Outlook get this warning: "You have exceeded your limit quota and can not send or receive mail" but really they have the mailbox empty, there's nothing in calendar, folders or deleted items.
    I ran this command Get-MailboxStatistics and the mailbox reports for example 500 MB.
    I deleted the deleted items and I configured deleted items retention to 0 days to ensure that it wasn't the problem, but the servers still reporting the same mailbox size (500 MB).
    This happen to some mailboxes, not all
    Please help, what can I do?

    1. How many Exchange 2007 servers do you have?
    2. What service pack and rollups are installed on the Exchange 2007 server(s)?
    3. If you have more than one server, are you using any form of replication: LCR, SCR, CCR... etc. ?
    4. What 3rd party software is installed on the Exchange 2007 server(s)? For example, antivirus, archiving, etc.
    5. Can you confirm that this happens in OWA as well? I see you mentioned OWA but I've just glanced at another problem with incorrect folder size being indicated in Outlook and it apparently had to do with the .OST file. Of course, if the problem occurs with
    OWA as well, then the OST file would not come into play. Sorry to insist on that but I'm trying to rule some things out, if possible (like 3rd party apps, maybe something with replication, maybe a problem that was corrected in a service pack or rollup).

    Hi,
    How about this?
    http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/gg576861.aspx
    EDIT: Or maybe this:
    $out = @()
    $users = Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited
    ForEach ($user in $users) {
    $userMailboxStatistics = Get-MailboxStatistics $user
    $props = @{
    Username = $user.SamAccountName
    DisplayName = $user.DisplayName
    Database = $user.Database
    OrganizationalUnit = $user.OrganizationalUnit
    'Quota Status' = $userMailboxStatistics.StorageLimitStatus
    TotalItemSize = $userMailboxStatistics.TotalItemSize
    $out += New-Object PsObject -Property $props
    $out | Sort-Object Database,DisplayName | Export-Csv .\mbxDetails.csv -NoTypeInformation
    Adjust the $props hash as needed to add/remove properties to the output object.

  • Increase Users Voice mailbox Size

    Hi All, after I upgraded to 6.1(3) it seems that some things have defaulted in Unity. Such as time zones and mailbox sizes. I have a couple of users that cant access there mail box because its saying that its full. How can I increase how many voice mail and the size of the voice mail for users.
    I have currently changed settings in the "message store" for "warning quota, send quota, and send and recieve quota." Directly under that I have number of voice mail boxes and size however, that is greyed out. I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly.
    Please any suggestions?
    thanks,
    Mike
    Were running
    CUCM 6 business edition bundle unity 2.1

    You are on the right track, you can either change the quota globally or per user, simply specify customer settings that will override the defaults (12,13,14 Mb I belive).

  • Cannot access another users mailbox via OWA 2013

    Hello
    I have just migrated a few users from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013.
    If I try and access their mailboxes via OWA 2013 using "open another users mailbox" I receive the following error:
    something went wrong
    Sorry, we can't get that information right now. Please try again later. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk.

    X-BEServer: EX2013.company.local
    Date: 07/11/2014 11:23:46I can still access any mailbox on a 2010 server via the same method.
    Can anyone assist in resolving this issue please?
    Matt

    Hi Amy,
    Yes Inheritance is enabled.
    Just to clarify this is affecting ALL mailboxes once moved to Exchange 2013, not specific users.
    There are multiple 2013 databases all with mailboxes on. Each databases is displaying the same behaviour.
    Here are the permissions I have checked so far:
    ADSI Edit: CN=Databases,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (<>),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=Company
    ,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=localnet
    The AD group has inherited Full Control on all of the database objects.
    EAC: The AD group has full control on every migrated mailbox
    EMS: The AD group has the following permissions on all mailbox databases:
    Identity User                                           IsInherited   Deny  AccessRights
    MDB01  Company\AD Group                         True         False     {GenericAll}
    I have removed permissions for the group and re-added them, this has made no difference.
    The only way I can access any of the migrated mailboxes is to explicitly grant my account "Full Access" via the Add-MailboxPermission command.

  • Mailbox migration size(data copied) vs mailbox size limit granted to user

    Hi,
    I have an odd question. I am migrating a user from exchange 2010 to 2013 I can see that the statistics of the user are as follows:
    The catch is that the user is restricted to a 2GB mailbox size limit. So where did the extra 10GB come from?

    Hi,
    The data migrated contains two large things I can think of: Personal archive mailboxes and corrupted items.
    And corrupted items are most likely to lead to greater 2G.
    We can cheek this problem after migration completed.

  • Webconsole user diagnostics: "Current Mailbox Size" missing

    Hi Forum,
    why does the administration console show the following line for most users? For a few users this entry is missing...
    Code:
    Attribute ID Description Value
    61238 Current Mailbox Size (MB) 187
    Is this a bug or are these accounts some kind of defect or is this field just hidden or....?
    We definitely need this statistic for ALL users
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Pascal

    Hi Laura,
    thanks, I did that (after I run some gwchecks with "Update user disk space totals ).
    But no offence here and you were right. After running an audit report for the POA where the user resides, the mailbox size appears.
    Problem solved, thanks Laura, you can now call it a day

  • How to fetch size limits of users mailboxes in exchange 2007

    Hi Team,
    I've a list of users who scattered on different SGs of same server in exchange 2007. The Exchange Server is SCC cluster.
    My query is to input the user list (.txt file) and find out the storage quota limits (IssueWarning, Prohibit Send and Prohibit send and recive) currently set on listed user mailboxes. The output shouold be in .txt or .csv file.
    Please help me in writing the power shell command to fetch the required details
    Thanking you
    regards,
    Midda

    This will read the names from the txt file and export the details to a csv file
    Get-Content "C:\userlist.txt" | ForEach-Object {Get-Mailbox $_ | Select-Object DisplayName, IssueWarningQuota, ProhibitSendQuota, ProhibitSendReceiveQuota} | Export-Csv C:\Userquota.csv
    But it will show unlimited if the user having database default quota. Below command will show you the database quota settings
    Get-Mailboxdatabase | Select-Object Name, IssueWarningQuota, ProhibitSendQuota, ProhibitSendRe

  • Generate detailed user information including Mailbox Size Information

    Hello everyone,
    Using the Exchange management console I was able to export mailbox information that include 'UserMailbox, LinkedMailbox, RoomMailbox and Shared Mailboxes' but I wanted to also include a column for mailbox usage data and export that to a CSV..
    Exchange Management Console Output:
    Get-Recipient -ResultSize 'unlimited' -SortBy DisplayName -RecipientType 'UserMailbox' -Filter '((((RecipientTypeDetails -like ''*UserMailbox*'') -or (RecipientTypeDetails -like ''*LinkedMailbox*'') -or (RecipientTypeDetails -like ''*RoomMailbox*'') -or
    (RecipientTypeDetails -like ''*SharedMailbox*''))))' | Out-file c:\UserListing.csv
    When I put in the following code:
    Get-Recipient -ResultSize 'unlimited' -SortBy DisplayName -RecipientType 'UserMailbox' -Filter '((((RecipientTypeDetails -like ''*UserMailbox*'') -or (RecipientTypeDetails -like ''*LinkedMailbox*'') -or (RecipientTypeDetails -like ''*RoomMailbox*'') -or
    (RecipientTypeDetails -like ''*SharedMailbox*''))))' | Get-MailboxStatistics | select TotalItemSize | Out-file c:\UserListWithMBSIze.csv
    This will only output the mailbox stats information in one column.
    Does anyone know how to generate a listing that will include the following:
    DisplayName, SamAccountName, LastModified Date, Organization Unit, Mailbox Size Data
    Exchange 2010 Outlook 2007 (cache mode)

    Thanks Amit!
    This command works perfectly on an individual mailbox.
    ie:
    get-mailbox identity "Bob Jones"  | Get-MailboxStatistics | select displayname, @{expression={(Get-Recipient $_.DisplayName).SamAccountName};name="SamAccountName"},@{expression={(Get-Recipient $_.DisplayName).OrganizationalUnit};name="OrganizationalUnit"}, @{expression={$_.totalitemsize.value.ToMB()};name="Size(MB)"} | Export-CSV Mailboxes.csv -NoTypeInformation
    But if I try and use the same command for all mailboxes it's missing the OU information and SamAccountName is missing but displays the MB size and name.
    Exchange 2010 Outlook 2007 (cache mode)

  • Outlook 2013 reporting the wrong mailbox size

    Hi,
    I am seeing a problem with Outlook 2013 where the mailbox size under "Mailbox Cleanup" does not reflect the actual mailbox size on Exchange. For instance I have a user that has a mailbox size of 300MB according to Exchange, but her Outlook 2013
    is reporting her mailbox size as 2.2GB. Is this a bug in Outlook?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You can logon OWA to see if the mailbox size displays the same as Outlook does. If no, simply have the user delete the .ost file, Outlook will then recreate the .ost file, try if the mailbox size displays correctly with the new .ost file.
    The .ost file may be stored at: C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook. If you are not sure, go to FILE -> Account Settings -> Account Settings to find its location.

  • Issue with a user mailbox.

    We're running exchange 2010 SP2 RU8. I have one particular user were I'm getting the following error:
    Cannot open mailbox /o=Org/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=EXSRV01/cn=Microsoft System Attendant.
    It was running the command 'Get-CalendarProcessing -Identity 'company.com/Users/<username> -ReadFromDomainController'.
    I've done some searches but the advice is all over the place. This user lives on a database with about 600 other users. This error only occurs on this particular users mailbox. The user can't access OWA as well.
    I've tried disconnecting and re-connecting but it gives the same error. Anyone have advice on what to do or try? Again the database itself is fine as all other users are working fine.
    Thanks
