OWAS Question, Where is the owa executable?

After installing OWAS on my linux 5.1, I can not find the owa
that is supposed to be in the $ORACLE_HOME/ows/3.0/bin. This
owa is for making CGI pl/sql calls instead of going through the
cartridge. Am I missing some steps here? I am pretty sure I
installed the whole package. Helps will be appreciated!

Are you saying with Webstart in Java 5.0 that client logs are logged on the server if logging is enabled? I do not see any client logging information in my server logs....
I, too, cannot find the webstart client log and have logging enabled. In 1.4 you could set the location but in 5.0 the log file is where???
There is no javaws.log anywhere on my machine after several application invocations with logging enabled...
Any comments appreciated...

  • Newbie cluster question: where does the admin server live?

Hello, I'm looking at clustering for our application where I work, and so I'm reading through the cluster-related documentation for 11g. I have a sort of an architecture question: where should the admin server be started? Hypothetically speaking, if you have two nodes for your cluster, would the AdminServer run on a 3rd box which sort of stood in front of the two nodes?
    Thanks much -

The ideal situation would be for your admin server to be separate from the machines hosting your managed server. This allows you to control access to the admin server, eliminate the performance impact if you have the admin + managed on the same host, and limits impact if youir #1 host fails, etc.
But companies may be unwilling to invest in a distinct (3rd) host just for the admin server, especially if you have multiple environments ( prod, testing, dev, etc. ).
So usually the admin winds up sharing the host with a managed server.

  • Beginner's question - where is the form?

    Hi
I've just installed Visual Studio Express 2013 (success on the third try).  It now runs and I have created a project BUT I cannot see the Windows form upon which to place my controls etc.
The application is developed using the project wizard, C++, Windows forms application.  I have not entered any code and only have the files that are automatically created.  When I run (debug) the application, it runs and a form appears
with basic controls only (a couple of default menu items) and, needless to say, it has no functionality.
I now wish to add a control onto the form.  My problem is that I can't view the form to drag the control onto, from the toolbox.
Does the form get automatically created as a form for use at design time, or is the application just creating a default one at run-time?
There does not appear to be a form in the solution explorer.  Also pressing F7 does not show me the form - I can only see the code window.  Right-clicking on the code window tab does not offer any way to view the form associated with this application.
I did consider adding a form of my own, however I got a warning about this saying that if I added a form it would change the application from "native" (whatever that means) to CLR.  Do I want to do this?  Or should that question be: how
do I decide whether I want to do this or not?
And if I did add a form of my own, would it automatically be (or become) the 'main' form, and if not, how would I make it the main form?
I just want a C++ Windows application that I can add some controls to.
I did try to use Help to assist me but swiftly realised that this was not going to be easy.

    Hi BulletToTheBrian,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
According to your description, you mean that you want to create a windows form app using C++ language, am I right?
If yes, as far as I know that there have no the windows form project template in the C++ language like the following screen shot.
Based on your issue, could you please tell me what version of VS 2013 Express you install on your machine?
If you want to create a windows form project using the VS2013 Express, I suggest you will need to install the VS2013 Express for Windows Desktop.
For more information about the different version of VS 2013 Express, please see:
    https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/products/visual-studio-express-vs.aspx
After you installed the VS2013 Express for Windows Desktop, I suggest you could refer the following MSDN document to create a simple windows form project and then check if you still get same issue.

  • P6N Diamond, SLI question: where does the 2nd card go?

As per title, I have a P6N Diamond motherboard with 4 video card slots (four PCI-e x16), two yellow + two white. I have a single GPU/card in the first slot as usual, but I got a 2nd GPU/card today. Where does it go so I could get 16x16 SLI? Manual is unclear.
    2nd white slot (third PCI-e x16) or the yellow (second PCI-e x16) ?
I ask because this motherboard has non-standard color coding. Even the RAM slots are not color coded (channel-wise). Instead of A-B-A-B color arrangement on the RAM slots as every other motherboard out there, this motherboard has A-A-B-B arrangement.

Update: First of all, the case connectors on the motherboard are in the way for SLI purposes. They are too tall and block the insertion of the second card. On my old ASUS moterboard the case pins were on the bottom of the PCB, out of the way, but on this MSI motherboard they are on the side, lined up with the PCI-e x16 slot. Really dumb design! It might be fine for short video cards like 9600GT or similar, but for extended length dual slot video cards like GTX260 (which what I'm using) they are in the way, so much that the second card can't be inserted into the slot at all.
I spent two hours modding the connectors. I had to snap and break the plastic plugs, remove the metal pins and mod them so they are only 3mm tall, instead of 9mm. I know this motherboard is old so MSI couldn't plan for GTX260/280 and other long cards, but cards like 7950GX2 and similar did exist and predate this motherboard so there is no excuse for MSI for placing the connectors in that position.
Anyways, warning for any P6N Diamond owners: if you have extended length or longer dual slot video cards like GTX 260, GTX 280, and 4870x2 you will have problems with clearance and would need to do some severe modding or get a different motherboard.

Is that with BB on both lines? EE don't do freestanding landlines.
EE will never match BT's excellent online voice fault monitoring service. You'd have to phone them up every time. I wouldm't risk a business with them. Only consider EE for the mobile service.
You won't get a quote by email. You need to phone EE Sales.

  • What/Where is the 32-bit version of Windows System Image Manager?

I'm running into the problem described as follows in the WAIK documentation:  "Windows SIM fails to create a catalog for a 32-bit Windows image from a 64-bit version of Windows SIM. To workaround this issue, use the 32-bit version of Windows SIM to
create catalogs for your Windows images."
Question: Where is the 32-bit version of Windows SIM? I can only find a single download for "The Windows® Automated Installation Kit (AIK) for Windows® 7"
Or are the 32-bit tools included in that version? If so, how do I use those instead?

    Hi,
The issue should occurs when you install the WAIK on a 64bit Windows 7 machine.
You need install WAIK on a 32bit machine.
Different binary versions of Windows SIM cannot create catalog files for some Windows images of different architecture types. We recommend using the
32-bit version of Windows SIM to create catalog files because this version can create catalogs for all Windows image architecture types. The following list describes the Windows SIM architecture types and catalogs that can be created for each Windows
    image architecture type.
    x86 Image Manager. Can
create catalogs for x86, x64, and Itanium-based Windows images.
    x64 Image Manager. Can
create catalogs only for x64 Windows images.
    Itanium-based Image Manager.
Can create catalogs only for Itanium-based Windows images.

  • Quick question, where to put global variables

    Very quick question:
where is the best place to put global variables,
(e.g. a flag that turns on debug mode)
if they are needed by the entire application?
I'm guessing they should be placed in their own class.
But should I make them public static final constants,
    and just do Globals.MYCONSTANT
OR should i do "implements Globals" in all my other classes?
The first way seems simpler and more logical,
but in the examples for JSDT, they use the second technique.
    Any thoughts?
    thanks! =)

I would suggest either creating a properties file for your globals, or adding them to the system properties at startup. Placing items like debugging tags in your code means that you have to change the code, recompile, and rejar before your change is implemented. Using system properties means that you simply have to change your command-line options (i.e., from -Dmyapp.debug=true to -Dmyapp.debug=false).

  • Where is the equivelant of favourites in firefox versus IE

I am new to firefox, always used IE. Question, where is the equivelant of favourites bar in firefox, is it called something different. I changed to firefox because of several problems with IE9.

In Firefox, they are called Bookmarks. There is a Bookmarks menu, a Bookmarks sidebar, and a Bookmarks toolbar. If you tap the Alt key to display the classic menu bar, you can display/hide the sidebar and the toolbar from the full View menu.

  • Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium, it cost more than €2,000. When I recently tried to re-install it due to having to reformat my hard drive I could no longer activate it over the phone or online.
When I rang the help number it directed me to the downloadable versions that don't require activation. Great! UNTIL I realise Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional is only available for Windows as a download.
Where is the download for the Mac Version as it not included in the bundle either. This is extremely urgent. Thank you in advance.

    To maswatson
The answer to your question of March 12, 2015 – "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere. That doesn't mean it's not available to you, however. I have successfully installed several CS2 programs and Acrobat 7, on two computers.
The hard drive on my MacBook Air crashed recently. After a new drive was installed I had to reload various programs, including CS2 Premium. I used the original disks and the serial number on the package.
When I tried to open InDesign, however, I got an "Activate Using the Internet" message which led to an "Activation Server Unavailable" message that gave me three options, the last of which was "Click the Phone Activation button to activate the product over the phone." I called the toll-fee number and heard the following recorded message: "We no longer support activation issues over the phone."
So I searched the Web, figuring that others had encountered and solved this problem. Eventually, I found "Creative Suite Help / Download Acrobat 7 and OS2 Products" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I also found "How to Fix Adobe’s “Licensing for this product has stopped working” Error by Aaron Nelsen at http://hijinksinc.com/2010/01/20/how-to-fix-adobes-licensing-for-this-product-has-stopped- working-error/. He writes "… you MUST delete adobe_00080000_tsf.data and adobe_00080000_event.log" which is found in /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet. So I did that.
I also deleted Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 from my Applications folder. I did not delete Acrobat 7 or GoLive.
After clicking on "English" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#, I downloaded Illustrator CS2 for Mac, InDesign CS2 for Mac, and Photoshop CS2 for Mac. I was not able to download Acrobat 7 because the only option is for Windows. As you know, there is no download for Mac.
Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 all opened without any problems. When I tried to open GoLive, I got the same "Activate Using the Internet" message I got at the outset, when I tried to open InDesign. I proceeded, and now have a 30-day trial. The same limitation has been placed on Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, because I downloaded them, whereas GoLive was installed from the CS2 disks.
Next, I opened Acrobat 7.0 Professional – the one installed from the original CS2 disks. It works fine.
BOTTOM LINE: If you want Acrobat 7.0 Professional, install Creative Suite using original CS2 disks, then delete the other CS2 programs from those disks. If you want Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, Photoshop CS2, and others, download them from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I am hoping this explanation will help you. I feel great sympathy for you because the "answers" you received have been obtuse and clearly less than helpful. (I requested a "Yes," "No," or "Don't know" answer to a very straightforward question, but didn't get it.)
My experience tells me that the answer to your question "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere, but you don't need to download it. It's on the original disks and it does not require activation. That's why Adobe did not included it with the Windows version at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I hope this answers your question, solves your problem, and ends your frustration.

  • Premiere CS4 Version 4.2.1  – Where is the file "Name"?

I have my video files on a hard disk which I connect to my laptop. My project files are on the laptop. I have been able to work with the files for a long time without any problems. Today I get the question “Where is the file?” and I don’t want to spend many hours finding all the files, when I don’t know why this happen so it could happen again. First I thought Premiere got confused with the drive letters because I had a UPS Flycard network connector, but I restarted the computer without it and got the same problem. How can I let Premier find the files again and why did this happen?

Well, this most often happens when the OS assigns a new/different hard drive letter. One can set the external to a set drive letter in the OS. Do not know your "flyback card," so do not know how it might affect things. What is the current drive letter, and what was the one assigned originally?
With PrPro, one only has to locate the first "missing" file, when asked, and the program will then link to all other Assets in that folder. If you have the Assets in several folders, you will need to do this for each folder, containing Assets for that Project. The Find function of that dialog screen will prove very helpful.
I'd first exit from PrPro (do not choose Offline, Ignore, etc., and then Save the Project file), check out the drive letters, and then set the external to what was originally assigned.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
