OWB 10.2.0.4 patch application failed and seek advice.
Hi,
I have read some posts in this forum and tried to solve my problem with OWB 10.2.0.4 patch application. My basic situation is: OWB 10.2.0.3 was installed by someone before. Now developer only can get OWB 10.2.0.4 client. It can not access into existing OWB 10.2.0.3 repository because the version is not matched. I have to apply OWB patch 10.2.0.4 to OWB server. Installing patch is OK. After that, I need to create a test repository to upgrade OWB 10.2.0.3 repository to 10.2.0.4. When I tried to do so. I failed to either a new test repository or even accessed into existing repository. I got different errors as INS0009, ORA-01017 and LRM-00109 with the message as 'unable to connect to database with user SYS, invdlid username/password' Then I followed advices from another thread. Done these steps:
1. SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION SERVICES=(NTS)
2. INIT.ORA, remote_login_passwordfile=exclusive.
3. shutdown database
4. recreate password by using orapwd.
5. startup database and connect as: sys/new_sys_password as sysdba, I connected.
6. select * from v$pwfile_users; I got ' no rows selected'
7. I guess the sys might not have sysdba privilege, Grant SYSDBA to sys; I was feedbacked with ' password file missing or disabled'
I haven't used OWB before and don't know where is the problem that I cannot create a new test repository or access current repository. The password file has been recreated and verified. Why login process failed. By the way, I still use OWB client 10.2.0.3 on my desktop (old) and I have no problem to access into exisiting repository. Please help me to figure out the problem and upgrade my OWB server. Thanks in advance.
You don't answer to my question (about name of password file), maybe your problem is caused by incorrect filename.
Also please show instance name with select from v$instance:
select instance_name from v$instance;
Do you show me how to check this? What is the filesystem type where Oracle software installed?
In Windows Explorer open directory ORACLE_HOME\database, rightclick on password file and select Properties from menu.
Select Security tab and select (in Groups ans users list) the user under which Oracle instance service is executed (by default it is user SYSTEM),
in the bottom list (Permissions for ...) check granted rights.

FAILED: file LoadDTDToClob.class on worker 5.
FAILED: file LoadXSLTToClob.class on worker 6.
ATTENTION: Please fix the above failed worker(s) so the manager can continue.
I found that the fix for the above said is to set the classpath variable in the ieoenv.sh
I found the ieoenv.sh in the following location:
/d01/oracle/visappl/ieo/11.5.0/admin/scripts/VIS_vision/ieoenv.sh
and the content of the ieoenv.sh is as follows:
IEO_TOP=/d01/oracle/visappl/ieo/11.5.0
I could not find the jdbc111.zip file in this location
How can i proceed further to fix this
Many thanks and best regards...plz post the adworkxx.log and try to following also
1- backup your adovars.env file
2- modify your adovar.env file and substitute appbsorg2.zip by appsborg.zip
3-restart the patch
the jdbc111.zip is under
appl_top/abm/11.5.0/jar/jdbc111.zip
appl_top/fnd/11.5.0/java/3rdparty/stdalone/jdbc111.zip

Win XP Home SP2
Installed Firefox, but receive the following error message:
firefox.exe +application error +the application failed to initialize properly (0x0150004) +click on OK to terminate the application.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but same message. Firefox won't even open.Usually someone has been down the track before and occasionally they post some useful details which may help others to investigate and/or eliminate factors in their particular case.
This AccessibleMarshal.dll error seems to have a long history --- posts from 2006 with early Firefox versions had issues similar to yours.
There is a link and an excerpt below which could be worth checking in your case,
particularly since it mentions the problem would occur on a clean install (no previous instance of Firefox on the system and Windows before Vista --??)
Have a look here:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=712960
and the post to read:
'''Mark Banner (:standard8) 2011-12-22 12:55:21 PST'''
"Created attachment 583905 [details] [diff] [review]
Add the Win32 redistributable directory to the mozconfigs"
"Somehow we missed shipping the Win32 Redistributables from Visual C++. We didn't detect this as it would only show on Windows versions less than Vista, and you'd probably only see it if you had a completely clean install, and you didn't have the dlls installed elsewhere (as it appears my XP system does)."
"If you're seeing this then you want to copy the following files from a Firefox installation:
Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest
msvcm80.dll
msvcp80.dll
msvcr80.dll
The patch I'm attaching updates our configuration files to specify the Win32 redistribution directory, which will then cause the build system to include the files in the build."
.... ends....
The earlier 2006 instances also had the same issue in some cases:
forums.frontmotion.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=393
Hope this progresses the search and resolution.

Patching Always Fails on One WS Type
Since I've implemented Patch Management in my organization I've cycled through several different workstation types, but recently I'm having trouble with this past year's computer model in that patching always fails.
What is happening is that I have narrowed the patching down to doing the individual machines (HP dc7900). I'll select the patches I want to push go through the wizard using default settings and force the restart. The deployment process will go successfully but the install/launches will fail.
In the reporting I'll get a remediate.exe failure with a Windows error: Unknown error (0xffffffff) on the bundle package. On the workstation I'll get notification messages for every patch in the bundle. Overall ZCM status reporting says that the package was successfully deployed but in actuality absolutely zero updates are applied.
This happens the same for every dc7900 in our building which were set up using the same process as dc5700 and two generations of dc5800 workstations that all patch successfully. Has anyone run into a similar situation? Thanks! We make a new "source image" for each computer model that we have so different base images for the 5700, 5800 and 7900. All of our images are made with the same XP SP3 volume license and network deployed apps installed. The 57/5800 systems had Windows Updates enabled as "download and let me choose when to install" but with the 7900 we thought that we would be able to use Patch Management to deploy updates so on the image the updates were turned off, but we have since manually turned them back on to automatic to make sure they keep updating.
I did recently find out that this behavior also follows application bundles on these systems now. I usually deploy bundles as dynamic administrator but have read in another thread that deploying as system may cause less hassles but I haven't had a chance to test this yet. -

My iTunes will not start. The box on the error message APSDaemon.exe, And message says "This application failed to start because MSVC80.dll was not found. Reinstalling may fix." I did the reinstall and I get the same error. The error first happened after I approved the an iTurns update.
Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. Apple has posted a way to fix and you should follow their's first. I finally got to upldate correctly by doing their fix but with one difference. I did the following:
1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replace)
2) Restarted computer and still got error message
3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not specifically put in their fix but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
5) Restarted computer.
6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try. Even updated my ipad to make sure everything was working. -
I updated my itunes the other day and now it won't open I get error message saying "application failed to start because MSVCR80 was not found" When I close that window I get message stating Itunes was not installed correctly Error 7 Windows error 126. My PC is a Acer and I'm running Windows Visa. I tried to uninstall Itunes and reinstall it and get same message. Can anyone help.
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I tried to install the latest version of iTunes on my Windows PC, but the installation failed and I have the error message "Runtime Error R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly." When I then tried to run iTunes (assuming that, since the new install failed, my older version was still OK) I got the message "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114". I tried then uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it fresh, but encountered the same problems. Help!

Premiere Elements 11 application fail
Recently purchased Premiere Elements 11 as an upgrade to Elements 9 installed on my windows 7, core i5 PC. The application seemed to install OK but the desktop short cut failed as did trying to activate from c:/programs/adobe. I uninstalled and downloaded again - fail. I followed one of the question strings on Adobe Community and found out about dependency walker. I downloaded the program, did a dependency check and recieved the following warnings:
Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a mising export function in an implicitly depended module.
Error: Modules with differnt CPU types were found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved inport due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.
I am not a technocrat. I am a basic consumer. I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. Do I need a computer expert to sort this problem out?Thank you for the response Jeff. I do not receive any error messages from Premiere Elements. The install process appeared to work ok. I got the standard sort of prompt commands, the install program selected the directory in C drive, the install program set up the shortcut icon on the desktop and I clicked finish at the end. There was nothing obvious to indicate an install problem - but the application fails to activate when the shortcut is clicked or if I select the program through windows, start button, all programs, premiere elements.
Dependency Walker is a free program for Microsoft Windows used to list the imported and exported functions of a portable executable file. It also displays a recursive tree of all the dependencies of the executable file (all the files it requires to run). The program was suggested for use in one of the Adobe community forums discussion threads. I used it, it told me there were errors, they mean nothing to me as a non-technocrat and I dont know where ot go next. However, I will try the troubleshoot-install-logs link you included and see if that gets me closer to a solution. Thanks again. -
