OWB 10g repository assistants no longer work on 10.3.0.1 win2003

Just posted this to the database forum... oops.... now that I'm in the right spot...
I just installed Oracle 10.2.0.1 for win2k3 and OWB 10g. With 10.1.xxx the design and runtime reporitory assistants worked fine building their respective schemas, but with the new database release, they tell me that sys and system (and any other user with dba priv's) need to have dba priv's. Is this a known bug in the new release for winsrv?

From Metalink note 332371.1:
The OWB 10.1.0.2 and 10.1.0.3 versions are not certified with the 10gR2 database.
A complete 10gR2 certification will be available for the OWB 10.1.0.4 patch.
You will need to wait for the release of the 10.1.0.4 OWB patch or use and earlier version of the Database.

  • Arch Assistant no longer works with netcfg

Finally arrived home where I could update Arch.  Now Arch Assistant will not work with the netcfg profiles I set up previously.  I can use netcfg by logging in as root and typing a profile afterwards, but I find this tedious.  How can I get this to work again?
EDIT: I see that Arch Assistant has been orphaned - unfortunately.

Please mark the thread as [solved] (well, it isn't really but you DID find your answer as to why).

  • Why is Siri Assistant no longer working on my 3gs?

I downloaded and used Siri Assistant on my iPhone 3gs for about a year.  Loved it.  Now, the app still starts, but continually says there is no network connection available? Has Apple stopped supporting the stand alone version just because they have now included it in the 4gs?
Also, does the 4gs have file send capability via Bluetooth yet, and if not, what are we supposed to do with synching our contact and phone information into our Prius?
Only way I have found so far is to copy my Outlook contact list into my old Sony Ericson phone and synch it with the Prius.  That worked from day one, and sure beats the heck out of trying to enter each and every contact one key at a time.

The Siri app was not made by Apple. It was made by a company that Apple later bought. Once that company ceased to exist, the app and the servers required to run it were no longer supported.

  • Keyboard setup assistant no longer works after 10.6 update

I did not upgrade to Lion yet but this week I downloaded five of the Apple software updates. Today when I tried to connect my AlphaSmart 3000 (which functions as an external keyboard) via usb the customary select-your-keyboard assistant did not show. I tried typing anyway but nothing happened.
I was able to find the Keyboard Assistant in Core Services but that did not help.

Then other day I updated the OS to 10.6.5
    The other day?
Your post in the other thread on 29 November shows you had 10.6.5 installed.
Also I can't explain why but it most certainly did work with the previous OS X
AirPrint is not dependent on the OS
It is dependent on the printer firmware. The printer needs to be on the local network and does not need to be connected directly to a computer.
The fix in that other thread allows iPads to print to printers connected to a Mac.
The code that allows this was not present in Mac OS prior to 10.6.5
If it worked previously, it sounds like you have an AirPrint compatible printer.

  • Verizon Call Assistant no longer works after single sign-on change

Last month after going through the single sign-on change to use one sign-on for both verizon.com and verizon.net, I can no longer sign into VCA. Apparently the user name/password change did not propagate to the VCA server, but my old sign-on doesn't work either.
The VCA reset password link is just a circular reference back to the home page.
I wanted to un-install and re-install the VCA software, but can't get into the VCA area to get the software.

Login to MyVerizon and try this link. Or this link will ask for you to login, if you are not logged in.

  • Accessing OWB 10g Respository through OWB 11g Client

We have an Oracle Database 10.2, we installed OWB 10.2 and created a repository.
I want to install OWB 11g Client and use the existing repository. Is this Compatable.
Thanks in advance for your suggessions.

No, there were substantial repository changes in OWB 11g, you cannot connect an OWB 11g client with an OWB 10g repository - but you can host an OWB 11g repository in a 10g database though.
    Cheers

  • Installing OWB 10.2.0.1 Unable to start Repository Assistant  in XP

I've just installed OWB 10.2.0.1 on am XP machine with Oracle 10G running. I've used a different home as recommended. The application will not respond at all. I can't get the Repository Assistant to work among other issues. I just finished the install. I've done no other configuration. What do I still need to do?

    I've had the same problem:
On windows XP pro, 32 bit
    - Installed 9.2.0.1 Server
    - Installed 9.2.0.6 Patch
    - Installed Oracle Worflow + and created workflow user
    - Installed OWB_10.2.0.1.win.zip
All seemed to be fine until attempting to create the OWB repository owner.
The first problem is the same as mentioned above. The issue relates to the view dba_kgllock which was forced created against objects that do not exist. To solve this I used TOAD to find the script used to create the view, deleted the view and created an empty table with the same columns.
This is a complete HACK but allowed OWB Repository Assistant. All then continued and was looking good until about 60% complete and then the system fails with a socket read fail within java.
Thats it, I've stopped dead now, going to continue installation attempts in the morning

    Hi,
during creating the repository owner in repository assistant in about 96% I had an ORA-22905 exception. I read somewhere that I need to patch 9i. I used
    Oracle PatchSet 9.2.0.6
Now "Creating repository owner" step has stopped after i had set owner user and password. CPU is working on 100% and memory used by process is growing. There is no exceptions and Repository Assistant hangs.

Should I set any java paths or anything.
    Thanks

    Hi
As mentioned by Andreas you must not have the ORACLE_HOME environment variable set when you are doing this work. You also need to make sure that you don't have any Oracle software running, that all services (if on Windows) are shut down, and that you don't have any other environment variables that Oracle would use. Thus you probably shouldn't have CLASSPATH, PERL5LIB or QTJAVA set. What I do is rename these to ORACLE_HOME1, CLASSPATH1, PERL5LIB1 and QTJAVA1.
The final thing I do is to alter my Path to remove all references to existing Oracle software. I save my existing path first though so that I can put it back later (funny how a backup comes in handy at times). Then after the install I look to see what path settings OWB added and I insert these into my original path, reinstating any environment variables that have not been replaced by OWB.
I got to tell you that I find it a pain in the neck that some Oracle software won't install when they detect another Oracle product on the same machine. When you think about it, how head shakingly, frustrating is that in the modern world? Personally I, and my clients, are crying out to see these elementary interactions overcome once and for all.
Things are certainly improving but boy its exasperating when one product interferes with another from the same vendor.
    Does this help?
    Regards
    Michael

The line "Installation of the seeded data failed" reminds me of
installation problems with OWB Repository a colleague had.
He found help at MetaLink Note:289823.1.
    Hope it helps.

I installed Oracle 11 on my desktop as my playground.
So far SQL Plus works fine
    SQL Developer works fine
Was going through the first installation and configuration of OWB as per the guide here

And I am now on the "Repository Assistant" section

I make it to step 5 (enter in DBA password and ID) and hit the following error
INS0009: Unable to connect to the database with user SYS.

ORA 12514, TNS: listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptorI know my SYS DBA user id and password are correct as I am sitting in SQLPLUS right now with the credentials.
I also know my connection is fine, as I input the same host name, port # and oracle service name as I entered into SQL developer, which is also running currently
    What am i missing?
