OWB 9.0.3.33 download hanging upon completion

I tried to download OWB 9.0.3.33 (NT/W2K) several times already but at the end the download window says 99% completed and then it hangs. I do not have similar problems with other downloads from otn. Please advice.

After waiting an awful long time, it finally came through. Apparently, for this specific download the last percent takes longer than the first 99%.

LR4 Hanging Upon Startup in Win7 - Application Un-useable

I recently upgraded LR3.6 to LR4 64 bit, and the program is no longer useable. CPU is current generation Win 7 64-bit, powerful efficient machine with 6 gb of memory. Longtime user of LR and never had any problem with previous versions. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling LR4 - same hanging or freezing result while opening. Have to close the program using Task Manager. LR-3.6, which has always worked well, is now also hanging upon launch. I am now considering downloading the most current LR4.1 RC (Release Candidate) to see if that will correct the problem, but Adobe release notes make no mention of bugs or fixes. Adobe is not helping - no acknowledgement of any problems. Any thoughts from folks would be helpful.

Update: Tried loading LR4.1 RC. No change - program still freezing or hangs when I first open program.

ITunes Downloads Hanging & Freezing

We seem to be experiencing difficulties when downloading music from iTunes on multiple of our workstations. When a user signs onto their personal iTunes account and tries to download songs they have previously purchased, the download begins, but shortly into the download (1-5 MB), the download hangs, and the time remaining counter begins to increase. After 30-90 seconds, the download then resumes, the song starts to download again, but it then hangs again. The download does eventually complete, but the total download process takes 3-5 times longer than it should (with multiple freezes).
I've noticed this issue mainly with our Dell Precision workstations with Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller. When uninstalling Symantec Endpoint Protection, the downloads still experience issues. We're running the newest BIOS on each workstation, have downloaded the latest version of iTunes, and have updated the network adapter drivers.

I am having the same problem with 8.2.1, which seems to be related to whether my iPhone is connected or not. If my iPhone is connected, it hangs, regardless of whether it is connected upon startup, application launch, or connection after the application has been launched. When I open the "force quit" window, I can see iTunes' status change to "not responding" when I connect my iPhone.
I trashed all my preferences, even went so far as to trash iTunes 8.2.1 and reinstalled 8.2, but it didn't help. Trying to install an even earlier version of iTunes won't work either, because the earlier versions can't find my iTunes library.
I wish that Apple would provide a customer service/support line for downloads and updates of its own software.

Final Cut Pro X hangs upon opening due to large project. Way to access previous project Version?

I'm running FCPX on what I assume is close to the bare minimum... low end 2011 Mac Mini, upgraded to 8GB RAM. I was working on a project, not too long, but a lot of clips, and for one near the end I decided to "zoom out" to a sort of tile collage of a couple hundred clips (each 1080p24). Whoops. FCPX hung pretty much all night, and after a Force Quit, the app now hangs upon starting up again.
I tried Apple's suggestion for hiding events and projects that aren't being used at the moment, to try and lighten the load, but I guess the current project with that one short clip of those hundreds of simultaneous clips is, on it's own, still too much. FCPX still hangs upon opening, once the project shows up in the project tray. The rotating beach ball mocks me.
I noticed a backup file in the Project folder, but there's only one file and it's not dated old enough to not have the troublesome clip. I can't access Versions because I can't do anything upon opening FCPX except Force Quit. Is there another way I can access a previous Version in order to not resort to starting the whole project over from scratch?

There is only one backup file - I think it gets over-written every fifteen minutes so unless you have some other backup, you'll have to resort to inginuity.
Try moving the Media to a temporary folder - that way the Project will open with disconnected clips. You can then re-link them a few at a time - leaving out the ones which you believe are causing the problem.
Then duplicate the project and in the new project, concentrate on the complex clip - ditch all the rest and work on getting that clip back up. Then you could export that clip as one movie file and import it back into the project.
Always keep regular duplicate projects - they are your backup - or, do as I do, and clone your working external HD to another of the same size and speed.

CC downloader hangs at 41% every time

I am trying to download a trial of Illustrator CC but the download hangs at exactly 41% every time. This time (the fourth time) I've left it running for 6 hours and it still hasn't budged past 41%. I don't receive an error -- it just sits there, at 41%. I don't know what's wrong. I successfully installed Photoshop CC before.
I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling CC to no avail. My internet connection is fine -- I've been downloading other things without problems all day. Can someone please suggest a solution? I've found threads that have posed similar problems but no one seems to have fixed it.
I generally love Adobe's products, but I've never been more frustrated than I am now with Creative Cloud.

Leopard NAT downloads hanging at random intervals?

Hey guys,
Tried upgrading to Leopard Server 10.5.2 for the first time today, with mixed results. Our office has computers that are given 192.168 addresses from DHCP on Leopard Server, and we use NAT+Firewall on Leopard Server to route traffic to the internet. Nothing fancy.
The new problem: downloads hanging at random intervals.
Things cruise just fine at first, but at some point -- sometimes at 4 MB, sometimes 20 MB, sometimes 200 MB -- transfers completely hang, and data would stop transferring.
Not just web data -- I had a number of remote SSH sessions simply freeze in the middle of typing.
This is using stock NAT and stock Firewall and stock DHCP.
Anyone else seen this, or is it just me?

This is happening to me as well. All web traffic will stall for about 20 seconds then startup again. It's really starting to get annoying. Can't find anything in the logs - the server is barely being taxed at all for disk/proc/network. I can't figure it out but my coworkers are starting to get ****** that ever 10 minutes the network goes out then back on.
I can still hit the machine internally via SS or Server Admin or SSH. Its happening on the external interface.
Anyone else seeing this?

Firefox hangs upon startup

When I try to start firefox it does nothing. Via CLI it does the same - nothing. It just sits there and appears to be hung up. No pid, nada.
Deleted ~/.mozilla and tried to run firefox -profilemanager. Same thing, just hangs.
Tried to run firefox -v just to see if it return the version -no joy. Hangs.
no locks present and did a killall firefox before each attempt.
Uninstalled via yum and reinstalled via yum. Same.
Is there a log file I can view to try to determine whats hanging upon startup?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.

The proxy setting is an issue for some, System Preferences/ Network/ Advanced/ Proxies/ make sure everything is UNchecked.
The Apple server is extremely slow and unreliable for some people so it's just a matter of retrying a few more times.

Download hangs

I've just got my Apple TV, connected to a Dual G5 via Ethernet. Have a Cable Modem connected to a hub, to which both the G5 and ATV are connected.
My problem is that I can't get anything to download. ATV connects to the net. I can get the first 45 seconds of You Tube videos or Software update downloads, but then the download hangs and won;t resume.
Tried restarting ATV, but still the same issue...

I actually noticed the problem while trying to update from 2.4 to 3.01. Strangely, although I ordered ATV after 3.01 was released, it's still shipped with 2.4... Anyway, the update will start downloading and then just hang.
Meanwhile did a factory reset. Watched a YouTube video of 2 min without hangs! Wow, thought the problem was solved. But the next one hung 2 min into the video. The 3rd one hung after a few seconds.
When watching movie trailers, the blue download bar shows fast progress and indicates a full loading of the preview. However, after ~ 30 seconds, the preview hangs, and the blue bar goes from full to 30 sec. Then it goes to full until the next hang and so on...
I have a very fast cable modem connection (130 mbps). When downloading software updates from Apple, I usually can download at a speed of >2MB/sec (Mega Byte!).

Firefox 7 download gives my XP machine a blank screen upon completion... now what?

I'm running Firefox 3.6.23.... and when firefox asks me to update to firefox 7 I download it and upon completion, end up with a blank screen and no options to click.. I've done this routine more than once... and always end up with a blank screen on the desktop... I'm running Windows XP for an operating system... can't figure out what the hangup is with Firefox 7 download...

Bootcamp Hangs on Completing Installation!!

I am trying to install Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro. I have downloaded the Windows support software to another CD and I have been trying to install the Windows 7. It partitions it fine and then it goes into the setup of Windows 7. It gets a check on every thing up to "Installing Updates" After that it reboots and starts the "Completing installation" The three dots will continue to go for a little bit but then after about 4 minutes it just freezes up. Nothing works. The mouse won't work and I can't click any buttons. So I have to hold down the power button. I have done this maybe 5 times. I have looked things up online about freezing and I try their suggestions but none work! I have been trying all day to get it to work but it won't. It is very weird! I try to run it in Safe Mode but it says that I can't do that and it makes me reboot it again in Windows. I am running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4; 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3; Mid 2010 model. I have enough memory to partition and enough left on Mac. Please help!

I have the same problem. I try install windows for a 5 time from a different disc. But installation is hangs on Completing Instalation. I slove this problem. :
- After first hangs on , i'm load to mac os and format disck with windows from disc utility to FAT 32.
- Then load from CD with Windows and launch installation agan.
- After first reboot - load to MAC OS, edject CD and reboot to continion installation Windows.
AND its WORKS!
Maybe problem only in CD-ROM and after first reboot just only edject a CD, and it dont need a re-format disc

Downloads frequently not completing.

Frequently my downloads are not actually finishing, even though Firefox says they are done. For example I download a 250 MB file, then I check on it later and it says the file is 75 MB and completed. Needless to say the files are incomplete and archives do not even open.

I saw that thread and nothing there helped me. Would using a third party download manager like DownThemAll work better?

If downloads hang at the last minute or dont complete (just before reaching 100%), the cause might be antivirus software which tries to scan the file and during that process hangs the Firefox instance.
In order to fix the problem, try disabling the scanning as follows:

So I just did this on my iPhone 4 and it worked like a charm it unlocked it immediately. My phone was put into recovery mode and I know that not all data is deleted it just puts the phone into a sort of hibernation in order for the files to stay uncorrupted. I went to http://www.recovery-ipad.com/iphone-stuck-in-recovery-mode.html downloaded the software it unlocked my phone in a matter of minutes. Calls, messages, photos, apps, and voicemail was all there as if it never happened If you leave it unregistered you don't have to pay for it works for either windows or mac. Hope this helps!

I downloaded a free App called ThaiPad from Bangkok Post newspaper. I downloaded on my PC running Windows 7. The Bangkok Post recommended itunes for downloading. I completed download but it would not open. I am assuming that perhaps this App. was for iPod

Any app that you download using iTunes is for use only on iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, and not on a PC. It's possible they have a separate app for PC, as some companies do, but the one you downloaded via iTunes definitely will not open in Windows 7.
