Owb 9.2 compatible w/ HP-UX 9.2.3?

Is OWB 9.2 compatible with HP-UX 9.2.3?
A Follow-up Question. Where can I find certification documemntation for older releases of Oracle products?

Hi,
look here: Getting RPE-01008 when deploying objects Some problems but it seems to work.
Certification information isn't available because 9.x and 10.1.x are out of support.
And HP-UX is an unsupported platform - says metalink.

  • Is OWB 11.1 compatible with 11g database  cubes/dimensions

I heard OWB 11.1 stores data in 10g format and it is not compatible with 11g format. However AWM 11.1 creates 11g compatible data. Is it true? Any idea?
    thanks

    Hi
That is correct, the OWB 10gR2 and 11gR1 releases both generate OLAP 10g style cubes using the AWXML api. AWM 11.1 can create/administer both 10g and 11g styles cubes. Needless to say, it takes a little time to catch up with an ever changing API....plenty of fun stuff to come ;-)

  • Can OWB 10.1.2.0.2 deploy to RDBMS 10gR2

    Hello,
Can OWB 10.1.2.0.2 deploy to RDBMS 10gR2. If so what do I need to do to make this happen.
    Thanks,
    Carl

    Hi Carl,
OWB10gR1 is not certified with 10gR2 database until patch 10.1.0.4 is available.
When that is going to happen.... no idea.
OWB 10gR2 is compatible with 10gR2 database but not available as production software yet.
    Cheers, Patrick

  • It’s compatible OWB 9.0.4.10 with W2003 and Oracle 10.2.0.1?

    I have to migrate a DWH on Server 1 (OWB 9.0.4.10, Oracle Workflow 2.6.2, Windows 2000, Oracle 9.2.0.6) to Server 2 1 (OWB 9.0.4.10, Oracle Workflow 2.6.3, Windows 2003, Oracle 10.2.0.1)
It’s posible to use OWB 9.0.4.10 with W2003 and Oracle 10.2.0.1?
    Thanks very much in advance!

    Hi,
This is the relevant section from Metalink's 'Certify' section:
    Server Certifications
Product      Server      Status      Addtl. Info.      Components      Other      Issues
10.1.0.x      9.2.0.x      Certified      None      None      Yes      None

10.1.0.x      10.1.0.x      Certified      None      None      Yes      None
Additional info on 10gR2 DB: Database 10.2.0.x is only certifed with Oracle Warehouse builder patch set 10.1.0.4 or higher.
So: bad luck, need to upgrade OWB 10.1.0.4 to at least.
I suggest you learn to use Metalink for having these kinda questions answered.
    Good luck,

API5036: Client version 10.2.0.1.31 is not compatible with repository version 10.2.0.2.0
I got this error after upgraded with patch p5696353_10202_AIX64-5L
I tried to log in but there was a pop up dialog told me about this error. Do I have to install new client version?? I cannot find owb client 10.2.0.2.0 on the download site. Would you guys help me to get though this please?? Any solotion if I still used owb client version 10.2.0.1??
    Rgds,
    Godtee

    Hi Godtee,
you have to use the same version on the client as on the server.
There is only one software package containing owb client and server components. Use it for server and client side installations.
It seems that you have patched your server installation to 10.2.0.2.0. Apply this patch to your client installation and you will be able to connect to the repository with version 10.2.0.2.0
    Regards,
    Carsten.

  • API5036: Client Version 10.1.0.4 is not compatible with Repository version

I have an OWB repository version 10.1.0.1.0 and a client of 10.1.0.2.0. We have have been running this fine. I need to upgrade to 10.1.0.4.0 of OWB so I can begin to use a 10gR2 database as my target. I exported (database wise) my repository and imported it into the 10.2.0.1 database - all went well. I now went to upgrade the repository from 10.1.0.1.0 to 10.1.0.4.0 and ran the shell in the ../bin/unix dierctory. It ran fine, yet when I connect to the repository using the 10.1.0.4 client I get the "API5036: Client Version 10.1.0.4 is not compatible with Repository version 10.1.0.1.0" as if I never ran the DT upgrade shell. I then noticed the shell provided with the 10.1.0.4 install is DTupg92to10g.sh and I am not upgrading a 92 repos to a 10 repos. Is there a upgrade for 10.1.0.1.0 to 10.1.0.4.0?
    Thanks,
    Sean

for OWB metadata, run this following script
    <OWB_HOME>/owb/reposasst/upg/upg10gTo10104.sql
    For runtime data
    <OWB_HOME>/owb/bin/unix/RT_upgrade_to_10_1
This is only if it's NOT upgrading to 10gR2 database
If you are upgrading to Oracle10g Release 2 with partial export and
import and if you are changing the database instance or the computer
hosting the database, then run the migration script:
    – For UNIX, navigate to OWB_HOME/owb/bin/unix and run
    RT_migrate_to_10_1.sh.
The RT_migrate_to_10_1.sh prompts you for several parameters:
the User Name and Password of your original Runtime Repository
schema, the database connection string for your original Runtime
Repository (in the form of host:port:servicename), the User Name
and Password for your new Runtime Repository schema (whose values
should match the original Runtime Repository), and the database
connection string for the new Runtime Repository (also in the form of
host:port:servicename). Additionally, as it runs, the script prompts
you for SYS User Names and Passwords for the Oracle Database
instances for any Target Schemas and Oracle Workflows being upgraded.

  • Error when deploying a mapping to Staging in OWB 11gr2

    Hi,
I recieve the following error when I try to deploy a simple Source to Stage mapping:
RPE-01012: Cannot deploy PL/SQL maps to this target schema. The target schema must be in the same instance as the Control Center and have the OWB_USER role granted.
I have spent few hours researching it, but have not yet found a solution.
    My environment:
DB 11gr2 on Red Hat Linux. (OWB Server is on linux and the same machine as its Repository and the 11gr2 db).
    Source is on an Oracle 10.2 DB server in Texas;
Target (Staging env) is in California, also on Oracle 10.2.
I can validate the mapping and the Staging table was deployed sucessfully to the Staging DB.
Do I need to create a repository and workspace on the Target DB (Oracle 10.2) using Repository Assistant? (If that's the case, then would one also need to create OWBSYS?)
    Please help.

This is an urgent request. Would appreciate it if someone could point out what I may be doing wrong.
To summarize, my target DB is on Oracle 10.2 in a remote location, so I ran the 3 scripts that OWB Install documents require: Section: Configuring OWB Installed as a Standalone Instance.
    Cat_web.sql, reset_owbcc_home.sql, and remote_owb_install.sql.
But, when I run the Repository assistant, I get the error above (asking me to install compatible OWB version.)
    Here are the detailed steps:
    1. Ran clean_owbsys.sql
    2. Ran cat_owb.sql (Against USERS Tablespace)
    3. reset_owbcc_home.sql (?? Ora home for Target???)
    4. Ran remote_owb_install.sql (??Ora Home for Target???) -- I have tried different combinations, but no difference.
For Repository Assistant, here are the detailed steps:
    1. Provide connect info for the remote db (host:Port:Service)
    2. Selected "Managed Warehouse Build Workspaces"
    3. Selected "Create a new Warehouse Builder Workspace"
    4. Select "Create a workspace with an existing user as workspace owner" (Since we have user already defined for this role. Should I create a new one??)
    5. Entered Workspace Owner's User Name, Password and created WKS1 as the Workspace.
    6. Entered System / and Password to logon
    7. Provided Owbsys user id and Password and clicked on Next
    8. As soon as I hit Next on the OWBSYS Information screen, I get the error:
"OWB software with the compatible version must be installed locally on the database server machine". If it is installed, acquire the DBA user credentials,
and run the remote_owb_install.sql script on the Oracle Database server machine..."
(I have tried with different paths for the reset_owbcc_home and remote_owb_install scripts)

  • OWB 9.2 on 10g?

At work, I'm running 9.2.0.2.8 on DBMS 9iR2. So, I export the .mdl file, email it home, and load it to a 9.2.0.2.8 client. I'm also running DBMS 10g. (10.1.0.2.0). I import the .mdl, and try to deploy some objects that are giving me a problem. Then, I get an RPE-01011 "Cannot deploy to target database location because it does not have a compatible version".
Just for fun, I do a SELECT from WB_RT_PLATFORM PROPERTIES, and property.RuntimePlatform.0.version is indeed 9.2.0.2.8, just like my client.
So what does this mean? Version incompatibilities between the original development RDBMS and my personal environment? Or what? The message is just a little bit cryptic!

    Hi Donna,
Are you implying you want to go from 10g to 9.2 using
import/export of MDL? I don't think this is tested
in-house, so you may want to test this...Hi Jean-Pierre
Umm. Not quite. I run 10g on my personal kit, but was trying to reproduce my client's environment.
Reinstalling 9.2 would work, no problem with that,
simply re-register the locations to the new box and
make sure the setup (runtime repos) runs on 9.2Yeah, true, but sod it. I already got so many version installations, it drives me crazy. I'll use my 10g OWB and that will be that.
(FYI, I have a five machine personal setup, including a huge SMP RAID box. I've got everything since 8.1.6 and Scalpels).
(Also FYI, I am a Principal Consultant in England in OWB, having used it since it first became commercially available). Now see my next post, and see how much help I need (because I am legally blonde).
    Best regards,
    Donna

  • OWB 9.2.0.4 Process Flows Validation and Export

    Hi
I'm trying to export my OWB 9.2.0.4 repository into one mdl file in order to upgrade to OWB 10.2.0.4.
I have problems with exporting many of my Process Flow Packages but not all.
    Here is one example:
    Process Flows
    Process Module (Davia)
    Process Flow Package (DATAFLYT)
    Process (DATAFLYT_AF_EDW_STAGE_OG_EDW)
I can validate at the Process level (DATAFLYT_AF_EDW_STAGE_OG_EDW) with Success.
I can validate at the Process Flow Package level (DATAFLYT) with Success.
When i Validate at the Process Module level (Davia), I get the following Validation error in the first Window:
"VLD-10008: Process flow DATAFLYT_AF_EDW_STAGE_OG_EDW does not have a location associated with it."
When looking in the "View Details" I get the following messaage:
"VLD-10008: DATAFLYT_AF_EDW_STAGE_OG_EDW's owning process flow installed module DAVIA does not have a location associated with it."
When looking in the "Message Editor" I get this message:
    "NAME","STATUS","MESSAGE TYPE","MESSAGE","DETAILS"
"DATAFLYT (Process Flow Package)","Valid","SucMsgKey","VLD-0001: Validation completed successfully.","Validation completed successfully."
    "DATAFLYT_AF_EDW_STAGE_OG_EDW (Process)","Valid","SucMsgKey","VLD-0001: Validation completed successfully.","Validation completed successfully."
In Deployment manager the column Location has the value "OWF_PRODUKTION" for all Objects.
I can Deploy the Process Flow Package (DATAFLYT) with Success.
I can make an Export to MDL when I stand at Process Flow Package (DATAFLYT) level.
End Result: Everything seems to work at the Process Flow Package level but not when Exporting at the Process Module level (Davia).

i am not 100 sure but what works in OWB 9.2.0.4 might not work in OWB 10.2.0.4 in the same manner. There have been lot of changes between these versions so i am not very sure about compatibilty from 9.2 to 10.2, If you have exported your mapping and other stuff then without wasting too much time it is probably easier to re-create the process flows manually. This failure might be because some of the components/objects used in process flow of ver 9.2 might not be compatible with 10.2 or hvae been enhanced to work differently.

  • OWB 10.1.0.4.0 deployment results in RPE-01011

We are deploying the same project, developed in OWB version 10.1.0.4.0, to both a test and production server. Since a reorganisation of those servers we've been unable to deploy mappings to the production site, due to an apparent version discrepancy:
RPE-01011: Cannot deploy to target database location because it does not have a compatible version. On the test site we have no problems, even though both databases are identical.
In the design repository, the module has system type (on the data target rider in the properties window) set to "Oracle Database 8i/9i/10g". For the same module, the pl/sql generation mode in the generation preferences is configured for "Oracle10g".

  • Urgent Please!!! API5036 Client version 10.1.0.4 is not compatible...

    I have a new server with W2003, Oracle 10.2.0.1 and OWB 10.1.0.4
My old server have W2000, Oracle 9.2.0.6 and OWB 9.0.4.10
I have a Project with OWB 9.0.4.10 and I have done the Migration Procedure explained on the OWB 10g Installation Manual “Chapter 3 - Upgrading to 10g Release 1 (10.1) and Migrating Data” and when I want to connect to OWB Client Repository I receive the error:
API5036 Client version 10.1.0.4 is not compatible with repository version 10.1.0.1. OWB will now exit.
Why is it????? What happens???? Could you help me please!!!
    Thanks very much in advance!!!!

for OWB metadata, run this following script

  • Upgrading OWB from 10.1.0.4 to 11.2

    Hi,
We have plans to upgrade OWB in our environment.
    OWB - 10.1.0.4
    DB instance - 10.2.0.4
    OWF - 2.6.4
Planned OWB upgrade -> 10.1.0.4 to 11.2.0.2 (as most of the bugs were fixed in this version)
As far as my study, I have learnt that we got to do an intermediate upgrade for this
    10.1.0.4 -> 10.2.0.5 -> 11.2
Our database version is currently 10.2.0.4. We are upgrading our Database too - to 11.1.0.7
    Please clarify my below questions,
    1. How can I do the intermediate upgrade from 10.1.0.4 to 10.2.0.5?
    2. OWF 2.6.4 will work with OWB 11.2?
    3. Below is the path, we have planned for this migration
    a. Upgrade OWB from 10.1.0.4 to 10.2.0.5
    b. Upgrade the DB instance from 10.2.0.4 to 11.1.0.7
    c. Upgrade OWB from 10.2.0.5 to 11.2
    will this path work?
    4. OWB 11.2 will be compatible with DB instance version of 11.1.0.7?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance!!
    Many Thanks,
    Parthy.

Any insight on this would be of great help.
    Thanks,

  • Export/import OWB (10.1 and PARIS) metadata problems

I am attempting to import an OWB 10.1–exported map into an OWB 10.2/PARIS repository .. this failed as follows from the Paris Design Center menu bar ...
Design – Import – Warehouse Builder Metadata and specify a previously exported OWB 10.1 map. I receive the following message … ”Metadata version is not compatible with you current repository version. Upgrading the file is required to import your metadata”
… Selecting ”UPGRADE” yields the following …
Upgrade started at Jul 25, 2006 12:02:05 PM
    Preloading objects from release 9.2
Upgrading objects from release 9.2 to 10.0

any advice on importing OWB 10.1 metadata(maps) into OWB PARIS ? as I am trying to create business case for upgrading from OWB 10.1 to PARIS.

There is a similar issue logged in our Support database relating to this type of problem. The bug (ref number 5309802) has some workarounds relating to issues within an MDL file relating to non-unique IDs and blank properties for certain objects.
The log file should tell you exactly where the problem objects are located, row and column reference. If you could open a TAR with Oracle Support and send them the log file and the associated MDL file they should be able to organize a fix for you.
If you want to try this yourself then make a backup of the MDL file. Next open the MDL file using Winzip and extract the two files within the MDL file. The larger of the two files is in fact an XML file. Open this file in a text editor that shows line and column numbers. Now refer back to the log file and find the error messages from that file and cross reference row/column numbers within the XML file and see if the error makes sense to you. If it does, correct the error and then rezip everything back into an MDL file and try importing the MDL file again.
Alternatively you may want to leave this to Oracle Support to manage for you.
    Hope this helps
    Keith
