OWB 9.2 (for linux) can be installed on ES3.0?

Hi,
I am having OWB 9.2 for Linux. I installed the same on Linux AS2.1
When I am trying to install it on ES3.0 (2.4.21-4.EL #1 Fri Oct 3 18:13:58 EDT 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux), I am facing the below error
"Initializing Java Virtual Machine from ../../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.3.1.0.0/1/DataFiles/Expanded/jre/linux/bin/java. Please wait...
[oracle@bplinux55 Disk1]$ Error occurred during initialization of VM

The Java version installed on the m/c is
java version "1.4.2_04"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_04-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_04-b05, mixed mode)
How I can install OWB9.2 on ES3.0, or Oracle will issue some patch for the same.

Vipin Rana

I had a similar problem using Red Hat. The solution was to reinstall JVM. There is an article in metalink describing the process:

I am trying to download Bridge CS4's Output update, but get a 'can't install/quit' message when I open the dmg file.  I have checked system requirements, space etc and everything should be OK.  I have been using Bridge CS4 for some years, and for some reason didn't know about the Output add-on.

  • Purchased Mountain Lion, but can't install on Mavericks OS...Paid for but Can't install

Purchased Mountain Lion, but can't install on Mavericks OS...Paid for but Can't install

You can't install an older OS over a newer one. So you'll get a message saying you can't install ML until you erase the drive.
I'm presuming you already have the full Mountain Lion installer on your drive.
Download DiskMaker X. Use it, the ML installer, and an 8 GB flash drive to create your own bootable ML installer. Boot to the flash drive when it's ready. From there, you'll get the same minimal work screen as when you boot into Recovery Mode. Use Disk Utility to erase the drive, then install Mountain Lion. Restore your personal data.

I think you should make a service call to Sun support.

  • Creative Cloud for photographer, Can I install in several computers? Does it includes a cloud backup solution?

    Hi All,
This questions are regarding Creative Cloud - Photographer plan.
    1. Can I install in several computers? For instance, install Lightroom on both my PC and my laptop.
    2. Does it includes a cloud backup solution? I mean a "real" cloud backup solution, something like crashplan.
    Thanks,
    Rave.

Yes, you have 2 activations and can use it on 2 systems. You get cloud storage, but well, the sad truth is it's so full of quirks and unreliable I wouldn't entrust it any critical data.

  • The web page says firefox for android can be installed by clicking the link on the site but the only link that shows up is for googleplay.

I do not use googleplay. I choose firefox specifically to avoid google. How can i download directly, since the app is not available on amazon?

    Hi laSirena,
    Good question!
You can always download the latest version of Firefox from here:
    ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/latest/android/ pick locale
Once installed, Firefox will check for and download updates automatically - you can control this behaviour by going to the menu - > Settings -> Customise -> Download updates automatically.
You can also check for updates manually by going to the menu -> Mozilla -> About Firefox -> Check for updates
Best of luck with your principled stance against Google. Keep it up!

  • Konqueror browser for Linux has an useful CPU limitation feature for websites using Flash content. Can you add such a feature in Firefox?

I have recently found that Konqueror browser for Linux can help user to limit cpu usage while visiting a website using flash technology by changing settings in the Flash section and adjusting the slider from VERY HIGH settings to HIGH and MEDIUM and so on. It actually works, and it does not have a direct impact on the general performance for flash player but it may generate some conflicts if other extensions such as add-blocker or click-to-flash are enabled also.
Maybe you can add a similar setting in Firefox in the browser option section or just as an useful addon or extension.

Sorry for being late with my reply. I've just tested that addon that you mentioned in your post ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../system-monitor/ ) , it looks like a system monitor and nothing more than that.
As for the memory tip ( about:memory ) I agree that it can be extremely useful for users that have less than 1 gb memory installed on their system. I know very little about computers but I can tell your tip for optimizing memory usage in firefox has merits.
Me, I have another problem with cpu overload in Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera and most of the browsers with flash support enabled. Each and every time time I visit a page that features all sort of adds and gadgets based on flash technology, and each time I try to watch a video online my cpu goes all the way up to 100% and stays there until i finally decide to close the browser.
I am running winxp and also linux on a Dell Optiplex GX260 machine with 2000 MHz cpu, 1024 Mib ram and 128 Mib video card, it is not the best computer in the world but still 2000 MHz should be enough for a limited and uneventful web experience.
It is not as much an issue with the web browser, any browser, the whole problem is caused by funny people claiming to be deeply involved with web development, and promoting flash technology for ages instead of choosing other alternatives, more user friendly. All I am saying is that flash ruined the entire web experience making people to believe that they actually need dual-core cpu and coreduo and deepfreeze cpu and so on which is only partially true.
I always get better results for cpu usage when watching online videos that use media player as default player and not flash player, and my cpu stays below 70% usage which is not much but still it is not 100% usage.
Konqueror offered me a nice surprise, and I was able to limit cpu usage once I moved that slider from Very High setttings for flash player to Medium settings. I got something between 80-90% cpu usage as a result, and I was very pleased to finally see a working solution to my problem at least for linux if not for windows.
The only other browser that I can use for windows only, which handles both flash player and cpu usage well is Kmeleon browser which is a long forgotten project but does offer nice features once you find some plugins that it needs to make it come to life again.

  • Labview 7 for Linux on Redhat9,NI example Finder not working.

I have Labview7 for Linux on Redhat9, installed at /usr/local/lv71. "NI example Finder" is not working, the function of browser, search, submit, none is working. When I try to close it, the window looks dead, cannot close it. I will force to close it. What is the problem? Where are the examples?
Another question: the simple help text is working, but the details help is not working. I can open the help file by Mozilla. But I want the help could be linked, like what it is in Windows platform.
    Thanks

    Hello
If whenever you type labview at the prompt, LabVIEW 7.1 is launched, it probably means that the paths are setup to launch 7.1 but it doesnt necessarily mean that you do not have LabVIEW 7.0 installed.
If you only installed LabVIEW 7.1 in that computer, it is possible that somebody else had installed LabVIEW 7.0 before.
What I suggest doing is to run the UNINSTALL scripts for both, LabVIEW 7.0 and 7.1, and reinstall LabVIEW 7.1 as root, not as user.
    Hope that helps!

  • Is there a way to use Labview for Linux for IBM AIX 5.1.

I think any application built for linux can run on the AIX 5.1 if the application is recompiled on the AIX 5.1. So theoretically NI can just recompile there Linux version of Labview on the AIX 5.1 and it will work. Is there a possibility that NI will port Labview for AIX 5.1.

I think that the use of LabVIEW for linux is platform independent as far as hardware. I believe that as long as you are running a compatible GUI (I believe XWindows and KPT??? are two that are recommended - check ni.com/linux for more information. So, for your purposes, as long as you can install the proper GUI, and then LabVIEW for Linux, you can then run, code, compile, and deploy applications on the AIX 5.1.
I am personally VERY interested in knowing about your success (or failure, should that unlikelyhood occur) on Linux. If you browse the topics, there is actually one on non-windows useage of LabVIEW. I am currently setting up my first Linux machine at my home office, and am very curious to know how other people do with this 'adventure into unc
harted territory'. The only documented useage I have seen is in Gary Johnson's newest edition of Power Programming.
Good luck, and please keep us posted. I sense that I am the only LabVIEW for Linux fan besides yourself. But please feel free to post to this thread, and to the topic.
