  • OWB Transfer Wizard - Does It Work?

    Hello,
    I'm trying to find out how the functionality to import metadata in CWM (Common Warehouse Metamodel) format works, so I fire up the wizard from
    Design/Import/Bridges
    Hit Next to get to the Source and Target Metadata Locations screen. Now, if I click on Help it tells me that
    "The From field automatically identifies your metadata source as OMG CWM 1.0"
    Well, not for me it doesn't! The From and To fields are empty and greyed out so that I can't change them. Has anyone had any joy in using this wizard?
    I'm using OWB Client 11.1.0.6.0
    Thanks

    I think the integration is now done via MetaIntegration, so this needs to be purchased in order to do this. The database import may be a faster, cheaper option for you to o.
    Cheers

  • Metadata Transfer Wizard in OWB

    Hi there,
    In a technical white paper about Oracle Warehouse Builder dated Feb 2000, there's a section on Metadata Integration, a Metadata Transfer Wizard is shown to transfer OWB's metadata to Oracle Discoverer. However, I could not find this Wizard in OWB 2.0 (which was released on Jan 2000).
    I would like to know if anyone of you have ever come across this function and where I can find it?
    Thanks a lot for your help.
    Regards,
    Dilys

    I've gone to oracle bug database
    http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_gui.startup
    and enter your mentioned bug number, but I got not hit.
    Are you sure you give me a correct bug number?
    Anyway, is there any work around for this error?
    thx and regards,

  • Execute a mapping deployed with OWB 9.0.4 from SQL*Plus

    Hello,
    I could execute a mapping designed with OWB 9.0.3 from SQL*Plus with the next sentence:
    SQL> exec my_mapping.main;
    But now, with OWB 9.0.4, mappings are deployed as functions (in 9.0.3 were deployed as procedures) and they need parameters.
    Somebody know how I can execute deployed mappings with OWB 9.0.4 from SQL*Plus? I don't know the parameters I need to call a mapping.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pedro.

    Well, I've solved the problem with roles but
    I've executed the script called sqlplus_exec_template.sql and it fails at Stage 2 because the next sentence
    l_audit_execution_id := wb_rt_api_exec.open(l_task_type, l_task_name, l_location_name);
    returns me NULL.
    It is not clear the value that the variable called l_location_name have to stored. The script explain that this variable store the physical name of the
    location to which the task was deployed. I understand that this variable have to store the schema where the mapping was deployed. That's right?
    So I called the script in this manner:
    SQL> @sqlplus_exec_template OWBRUN904I OJBHT PLSQL MY_MAPPING "," "," ;
    where OWBRUN904I is the name of the Runtime Repository Schema, OJBHT is the
    schema where MY_MAPPING is deployed, PLSQL is the task type and MY_MAPPING is
    the name of the mapping I've designed.
    Can you tell me why the scripts fails?
    Regards,
    Pedro

  • OWB: .ctl files deployment

    Hi
    I'd like to know why OWB doesn't give me the option to deploy
    the generated .ctl scripts; in fact, the only two available
    options are "view code" and "save as file".
    I am working with OWB 3i and an Oracle 8.1.6 data base.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
    OWB can't deploy Ctl file because it doesn't use SQL Loader.
    YOu need to use either OEM 2.2 with register your run.ini either
    SQL loader in your console.
    With OEM it seem to work fine. But don't forget to put good
    value in the OWB configure mapping....
    Good luck

  • Transfer Wizard for CWM still available in 11gR2?

    Hi,
    I need to import CWM metadata into OWB 11gR2. I came across the OWB User's Guide 11gR2 [1] which mentions the Transfer Wizard. I wonder if this feature is still available in OWB 11gR2. It says, from the Design menu, select Import > Bridges. In 11gR2, however, there is no Design menu, but there is the File menu where I can select Import, with no option Bridges, though.
    I would be glad to hear if, and how, import of CWM metadata into OWB 11gR2 is still possible. Thank you very much.

    I'm trying to export metadata from OWB to Discoverer. I have got some problems with this because Discoverer don't understand the file generated.
    I have read something about the "Oracle Transfer Wizard" but I can't find it. Somebody know's how to install OTW?

    Hi faiz,
    >>Error 0xc02020c4: Data Flow Task 1: The attempt to add a row to the Data Flow task buffer failed with error code 0xC0047020.
    According to this message, it can be caused by that there is not enough memory available or the buffer size is too small. To resolve this issue, I recommend you perform the following steps.
    1. Change the Server memory configuration of the SQL server. For example, you can increase maximum memory via the following scripts. For more information, please review this article:
    Server Memory Server Configuration Options.
    sp_configure 'show advanced options', 1;
    GO
    RECONFIGURE;
    GO
    sp_configure 'max server memory', 4096;
    GO
    RECONFIGURE;
    GO
    2. Adjust the buffer size by increasing the DefaultBufferMaxSize and DefaultBufferMaxRows properties of Data Flow tasks. For more information about it, please review this article:
    Data Flow Performance Features.
    Thanks,
    Lydia Zhang

  • Will the reports developed in sql server 2008 r2 BIDS work when deployed on sql server 2012 reporting manager

    Will the reports developed in sql server 2008 r2 BIDS work when deployed on sql server 2012 reporting manager?
    when I check on Microsoft site it says
    Reports are not upgraded when you upload a report definition file directly to the report server
    or SharePoint site. Upgrading a report definition in SQL Server Data Tools is the only way to upgrade the .rdl file.
    When you open an .rdl file in Report Designer in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), if the report was
    created for a previous namespace, Report Designer automatically creates a backup file and upgrades the report to the current namespace.
    This is the only way you can upgrade a report definition file.
    Now here is another confusing statement which says
    You can upload an .rdl file created in an earlier version of Reporting Services to a SQL Server
    2012 report server and it is automatically upgraded on first use. The report server stores the report definition file in the original format. The report is automatically upgraded the first time it is viewed, but the stored report definition file remains
    unchanged.
    All I want to know is if I deploy a rdl made in 2008 r2 to 2012 will it work on the report manager of
    2012?
    <o:p>
    </o:p>
    Mudassar

    I have tested this fucntionality and can confirm that ssrs 2008 r2 reports work when you deploy them on new ssrs 2012 report manager .
    No Migration is required .
    I didnt even moved report server dbs .All I did is just deployed reports on the report manager and it worked .
    "You
    can upload an .rdl file created in an earlier version of Reporting Services to a SQL Server 2012 report server and it is automatically upgraded on first use. "
    Microsoft needs to correct this the documentation is misleading

  • I have used the easy transfer wizard to export/import data incl TB, do I now move all the Mbox folders between profiles to move the mail contents?

    I installed TB on the win8.1 box and have run the easy transfer wizard to import my data. The support item showing how to mark up my TB data for inclusion in the easy transfer wizard was very useful for this, but it does not describe how to get TB to recognise the imported profile.
    I can see two profiles in the folder: C:\Users\Andrew\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles
    and one appears to contain my old data, the files in the other profile are very small by comparison.
    My question is whether I should move (or copy) the mail folders (or all folders/files) from the imported profile to the new one, overwriting any files where relevant? Alternatively, is there a way to get TB to recognise and use the imported profile?
    I did look at the profile manager but it does not recognise the imported profile.
    Thanks in advance for any assistance.
    Andrew

    I decided to do the following:
    1. renamed the profile folder created after installation of Thunderbird, to a name like nnnnn.default.bak
    2. renamed the imported profile folder to the recently created profile nnnnn.default.
    3. Restarted TB.
    All working fine. All my email for the three email addresses has been transferred from the old computer to the new.

    What do you mean by Deploy BITS to the servers? The BITS client should already be installed on then as it is native to the OS.

    Yes it is possible but database size should not be greater than 10 G as max databse size supported for Express 2012 is 10 G

  • Moving thunderbird withEasy Transfer wizard but no Application data in list

    Hi
    Im using the easy transfer wizard as suggested. I have saved all my old computer files and settings to zip drive. Started the wizard on the new computer hit thr customise button undef my account nsme then the advanced button on he next screen but there is no file called Application DATA

    re; Im using the easy transfer wizard as suggested.
    Perhaps this was suggested by Windows to copy Windows files and folders, but I've not seen this advised to copy other program data that is stored in the hidden files and folders under 'Appdata' or 'Application Data' as this is where Thunderbird Profile data is located.
    If you are looking for a way to backup Thunderbid Profile:
    You can manually copy the Profile folder.
    you would need to make hidden files and folders visible:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
    more info on Profile fodler:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird
    In Thunderbird
    Help > Troubleshooting Information
    click on 'show folder' button
    This opens a new window showing you Profile files and folders.
    Go up the directory to see the Profiles folder which contains your Profile name.
    or
    navigate to:
    C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\
    Copy the 'Profiles' folder and the 'profiles.ini' file
    see image below.
    Save to another location outside of Thunderbird preferably on an external device.
    Manual and Auto Backup info at these links.

    You could use a tool called MozBackup which can be used to install as well.

  • Transfer Wizard & BES

    Ok, I should have known better.....
    Anyway, I just upgraded from a Tour to a Bold.  After it was activated on the BES I used the transfer wizard to transfer some of my applications to the new Bold.  Now I am no longer connected to the BES and it only wants to sync with the desktop.  When trying to set up email it asks if you want to use a work email and if you have a BES password then instead of giving you the screen to enter the email and BES password it has it syncing to the desktop.
    Any ideas?

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    You need to stop now...and go see your BES admins. The best thing to do is to have a totally clean BB that they activate on BES. After that, then you would start adding other things. But get BES working first.
    Good luck!
