quick question: it is known that project specific customizing needs to start with Z or with Y in order to avoid being overwritten in the next SAP version.
Is there any other letter I may use in order to start my own customizing?

Hi,
No, for customer specific objects you've to use objects starting with Y or Z.
But however, customer can apply for specific customer namespace though.

But you have to apply for it and get it approved first. Tip - get as short a one as possible... I'm using one with 8 characters...

Custom Chrome with Drag/Move Support

In a regular AIR file, if you click and drag on the chrome, you can move the whole application around the screen. I want to create my own custom look with the close, maximize, buttons, etc., but when I do this, I am not able to move the application around on the screen. How do I do this? Can you provide me with an example?

I am automating the process of sending appointment reminders to my clients. I started with an alert with an email in calendar using the clients email address as a custom entry in my me card in my contacts. this was resulting in three emails being sent with slightly different versions of the same address (see my previous post). Heating someone else's suggestion I created a workflow file to send an email and calling that file from an alert on my calendar. This is working and sends only one email to the client.
My calendar is on I cloud and I access it from three different computers so I can keep my appointment calendar current. The files that send the email only exist on one computer. My other computers show error messages when those emails get sent. It seems that each computer wants to send the email. It's a small problem but is there a way that I could not get those alerts.
But appreciate any thoughts about this. It seems like both problems might be related to the iCloud system.

Good work, catch so far Michael, does seem to be a "feature" of iCloud syncing, not sure what you could do to disable it.

Recently at the Apple Store in Vancouver an Apple staff reset my computer (erased everything and sent to iCloud to reset the iPad) and I hoped this would fix the problem. IPad Safari still crashes. Short of booking an appointment for taking it for repair to Apple technicians which will cost me money can anyone help me to fix this Safari crashing.

Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Correlation Settings
Define which algorithm is to be used to create the message ID of a new XI message. The prerequisite for selecting an ID is that it is a GUID (globally unique identifier) according to ISO-11578.
If the message ID is not a GUID, message processing will fail. This can cause message duplicates if the ID is not unique. Furthermore, if the GUID does not conform to ISO-11578, this can trigger a GUIDFormatException.
Set XI Message ID (MessageID) To:
-         GUID (Recommended Value)
-         JMSMessageID (Uniqueness Is JMS-Provider-Dependent)
-         JMSCorrelationID (Uniqueness Is JMS-Sender-Dependent)
-         JMSProperty (Uniqueness Is JMS-Sender-Dependent)
Enter the JMS Property Name. This value is set for the XI message ID.
If the JMSCorrelationID or JMSProperty are not set in the JMS message, a message ID is generated automatically.

Create custom transation with start variant

Hi All,
I'm trying to create one custom transaction for a Report and it should start with Variant .
For this in SE93 we will give transaction code, program name and there is option called 'start with variant' but in this screen I could not able to see the variant I have created for this program . If I check any sap standard program I can able to see all the variants in this screen. Can any one help me out in this regard.

Following are the setps for creating variant, attaching it to the target transaction & making available for all the users -
1. Transaction SHD0 - Create a variant for the required transaction by changing the layout through hiding fields and screens.
2. Transaction SE93 - Create a variant transaction (e.g. for VA02 = ZVA02). Next allocate the transaction variant to this variant transaction.
In 4.6c, you can default your transaction variant as the standard variant. (SHD0 - Edit -> Activate/Deactivate as standard variant)

would like to know how to set for the following:
User01 cannot create SO/Quotation with the user02's customer.
If fact, we have 10 salesman and they have their own customer individually, each salesman is only enable to use their own customer to create SO/Quotation and they are not allow to see other's salesman's customer or SO/Quotation.

a solution could be as follows:
- create and mantain a ztable where you stablish the relationship between user and customer (this user can work with those sold-to's).
- use userexit MV45AFZZ, form userexit-field-modificaction and check here if user creating the S.O. is found in ztable. Once you type in your sold-to system will check and you can pop-up an error message and stop the transaction if needed.
- you'll need a developper for this solution.

"iTunes could not back up the iPhone 'my IPhone' because a session could not be started with the iPhone"

Since 2 updates I started getting iTunes could not back up the iPhone 'my IPhone' because a session could not be started with the iPhone. This is happening with my iPad and iPhone. I see hundreds of complains on this issue starting from last year and obviously Apple has no clue how to solve this error. I went through the solutions and spend over an hour deleting backups resetting lockdown, restarting and nothing is working. Are they serious to ask us to disconnect all other USB devices to sync our equipment everyday to solve their problem? iTunes is the worst program I have seen on the market in the past 10 years. It reminds me of DOS programs that could only do one item at a time. You click a command and just wait and wait and wait. Of course they want me to call customer service, wait for x time to talk to tech support and then spend more time. I don't have the time. I spent a lot of money to get an equipment that should work as advertised and not spend further my valuable time. I have reached my limit with Apple and that crap iTunes. I'm calling for a divorce.

How to add custom start options in VS package

I need to add custom start options in VS package.
Example:
Instead of showing "start", need to provide options like "Start in Firefox", "Start in Chrome" and handle their events on our own.

the path to the billing module is "sap.com/wec/ecom/mc/billing". But nevertheless
1. you need only to enhance in your current modul the metadata.xml file with the link to your own myaccount.xml which you can create.
2. and then you can define within the new file the menu options you need.
3. the last step is to update your shop configuration with the new menu options.

An InfoCube describes a self-contained dataset (from the reporting view), for example, for a business-oriented area. In its esence, Infocube is a data container. Data containers are used as a basis for analysis and reporting processes in SAP BW. Infocubes in SAP BW serve exactly this purpose. Infocubes in SAP consist of Key figures and characteristics. You can find some detailed information on key figures here. Simply speaking, infocube is any repository which contains data. Moving on to the types of infocubes. In SAP BW, there are basically two classes of infocubes. These are:

Remote Infocubes - These are also called as virtual infocubes.
The basic difference between the above two types of infocubes is that basic infocubes are physically stored in the same SAP BW system as their meta data description. Extract Structure
In the extract structure, data from a DataSource is staged in the source system. The extract structure contains the amount of fields that are offered by an extractor in the source system for the data loading process. You can edit and enhance DataSource extract structures in the source system. To do this, in the BW Administrator Workbench choose Goto à Modeling à Source Systems à Your Source System à Context Menu (right mouse click) à Customizing Extractors à Subsequent Processing of DataSources.
Transfer Structure
The transfer structure is the structure in which the data is transported from the source system into the SAP Business Information Warehouse. It provides a selection of the extract structure fields for the source system.
Use
The transfer structure provides BW with all the source system information available for a business process.
An InfoSource in BW requires at least one DataSource for data extraction. DataSource data that logically belongs together is staged in an extract structure in an SAP source system.
In the transfer structure maintenance, you determine which extract structure fields are transferred to the BW. When you activate the transfer rules in BW, an identical transfer structure for BW is created in the source system from the extractor structure.
This data is transferred 1:1 from the transfer structure of the source system into the BW transfer structure, and is then transferred into the BW communication structure using the transfer rules.
A transfer structure always refers to a DataSource from a source system and an InfoSource in BW.
You get to the maintenance of the transfer structure using the InfoSource tree of the Administrator Workbench. The context menu of the source system belonging to an InfoSource provides you with the maintenance marker using the function Maintain Transfer Rules.

SAP Business Information Warehouse
SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) is the name of the Business Intelligence, analytical, reporting and Data Warehousing (DW) solution which is one of the major enterprise software applications produced by SAP AG. It was originally named SAP BIW, (Business Information Warehouse), but is now known as "SAP NetWeaver BI".

SAP's BI application is a very pervasively employed data warehouse / analytical enterprise software solution, often utilized heavily by companies that essentially run their business on SAP operational systems such as SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP ERP, traditionally known as SAP R/3). How to input my own Validity Start and End Dates in ME21N

Hi All,
I have to change the Validity Start and Validity End date in Addiitional Data Tab of ME21 transaction( PO Create ) using default Customer Values.How Can i accomplish it?
I have used the BAdI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST and implemented it, I have coded in the method PROCESS_HEADER.First I retrieved the data using get_data( ) method, changed the values with Customer Values and called the method set_data( ).
However my validity start and End Dates and not changing.
Even in ME21N if I create the PO with my own Validity Start and End dates, and go to ME23N to display the created PO, still in the additional data tab, the start and End dates are current date and Next date respectively.why its happening?

Can you please let us know in which business scenario this is required.
SAP has provided separate functionality of Outline Agreement for considering validity period.
If you let us know the business scenarion some solution/workaround can be suggested.

Select a Folder/File starting with a Space via Keyboard

I have just upgraded to Snow Leopard and I am having problems selecting a folder/file that starts with a space in the finder and in open/save. The problem is that it activates QuickView. In Leopard (10.5) you could override QuickView (in the Finder) by pressing the Option Key and the space bar at the same time and then pressing the next letter in the folder name. This action now open QuickView in Fullscreen mode. I have tried other key combos without success.

Creating keyboard shortcuts for applications
You can assign your own keyboard shortcuts to menu commands in any Mac OS X application or in the Finder. This may be useful if, for example, one of the “global” shortcuts, which works the same in most applications, is used by one application for a different purpose. In this case, you can assign it a different key combination.
You can create keyboard shortcuts only for existing menu commands. You can’t define keyboard shortcuts for general purpose tasks such as opening an application or switching between applications.
To create a keyboard shortcut for an application:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Keyboard.
Click Keyboard Shortcuts, and then click the Add button.
Choose an application from the Application pop-up menu. If you want to set the same key combination for a menu command that appears in many applications, choose All Applications.
If the application you want to select does not appear in the list, choose Other and locate the application using the Open dialog. Some applications may not allow you to set keyboard shortcuts.
Type the menu command for which you want to set a keyboard shortcut in the Menu Title field.
You must type the command exactly as it appears in the application menu, including ellipses and any other punctuation. An ellipsis is a special character that looks like three periods. To type an ellipsis, press Option-semicolon, or use the Character Viewer. It may be difficult to know whether the command is written in the menu with a real ellipsis or with three periods, so if one does not work, try the other.
Click in the Keyboard Shortcut field and press the key combination that you want to assign to the menu command, and then click Add.
You cannot use each type of key (for example, a letter key) more than once in a key combination.
Quit the application for which you added or changed a keyboard shortcut.
Restart the application to see the keyboard shortcut in the application’s menu.
If you assign a keyboard shortcut that already exists for another command or another application, your new shortcut won’t work. Find the menu command that’s using it and reassign the keyboard shortcut for that item.
To remove a customized shortcut, click the Delete (–) button.
