OX X Yosemite and Adobe Creative Suite 6

Hi People,
Im currently using Macbook Pro Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013 running on OS X 10.9.5.
I have yet to upgrade to Yosemite because I'm not too sure if there will be any problems running Adobe CS6 programs.
Would like to ask if anyone knows if it is safe to do so or if there are any issues with these 2 running together.
Need some help and advise from the pros.
Good Day~

Best place to look would be the adobe site for photoshop and their forum.
I have CS3 Photoshop and on Snow Leopard and I believe I saw some posts that say it will run on Yosemite.
You will also see that Adobe has changed from charging up front big bucks for upgrade - to a monthly license fee for modules you want - with upgrades included - in order to level out sales rather than having big lumps of profit when some users upgrade because of OS.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite: New Choices for Customers

Adobe has announced the new Cloud-based model for software distribution, along with new terms for boxed product upgrade eligibility. Beginning with the CS6 releases, when they happen, upgrade pricing on boxed products will only be availble one generation back. There is a limited window to upgrade now to the current versions at a discount.
    See http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2011/11/adobe-creative-cloud-and-adobe-creative-suite -new-choices-for-customers.html

    Eugene:
Based on the current information we have (from the blog post), which may not be correct and which you should not rely upon:
There is some confusion about the word "discount." As used in the blog post, in general there are no "discounts" for upgrades, there is the upgrade price and there is full price. But, also in the blog post, there is a special "discount upgrade" if you choose to upgrade to CS5.5 today (prior to Dec. 31, 2011), which is 20% off the regular upgrade. However, Peter used the word "discount" to distinguish between upgrade pricing and full price. It's probably a good idea to avoid using that word there because of the potential for confusion.
I have CS5 InDesign in work. So I will be able to upgrade that to CS6 when it comes out at the discount price?
You will be able to upgrade to CS6 at upgrade pricing. Not the 20% discount, but it is "discounted" from the full price of CS6.
I'm still using CS2 Illustrator and Photoshop, for the little work I do in those programs, they're fine. But if I want to upgrade them to CS6 I have to pay the full amount of an upgrade, with no discount... or will I have to pay for CS6 in full for both of these programs?
You will have to pay the full price (not the "full amount of an upgrade," whatever that means).
If you elect to upgrade to CS5.5 prior to Dec. 31 of this year, however, then then you can pay the discounted upgrade price to upgrade to CS5.5 (well, CS5 since Photoshop CS5.5 doesn't exist), and then you can pay the CS6 upgrade price in March/April. So you can pay for no upgrades (full price) or two upgrades (one of which is 20% off).
At the moment I can upgrade CS2, photoshop and Illustrator for €240 each, to CS5. So wouldn't I just be able to do that now and then buy the CS6 upgrade at a much later date perhaps just before CS7 comes out?
    Yes, you can do that.
If CS6 has the tools to basically go "File>Export>Epub" and I get a fully working epub file without having to trash about in code afterwards or make complex tagging in InDesign, then I'll be buying it.
It looks like EPUB is evolving pretty fast, so even if ID CS6 fully supports what you want out of EPUB on Day 1, I bet you'll need to be prepared to postprocess it on Day 2. Or at least long before Day 200.

Getting new computer without disc drive. I have Lightroom 4 and Adobe Creative Suite 5.5. Can I download these to install on new computer? I have discs for Creative Suite but the LR was downloaded originally so I don't have the disc. In the past, Adobe support has been very helpful in getting these installed, but now it looks like Tech phone support is only for CC users. Hope somebody can help me here. Thank you!

    Hello,
Is it possible to protect ePub files directly from Adobe Creative Suite (for e.g. in InDesign) ?

Bonjour. Cette partie du forum parle français

  • Yosemite and adobe cs5 suite

Has anyone tested Yosemite with the adobe cs5 suite
    Photoshop CS5 Extended
    Illustrator CS5
    etc....?
I do not plan to purchase any further upgrades to Adobe
I have been using their products in my business since 1994 and I have spent a fortune keeping them updated.
CS5 is as far as I will go
I do like to keep my Apple OSX updated
    Macbook Pro 10.9.5

    Hello Jonnny.
I use the same software as you, and have the same thoughts and issues, and have been searching the internet and Adobe forums for similar answers and questions. Many people are having issues and most are saying if you are running older versions of CS, (I don't think CS5 is that old!) then a Java update is needed and easily downloaded from the Apple website. Personally I will wait another 2 weeks or so before deciding, but I may just keep my Mavericks, the last time I upgraded it caused me countless hours of downloading and reinstalling software again, one of Apples pieces of software I enjoyed using was iDVD which is no longer supported and just about got it too work again on Mavericks, but not sure if it will work on Yosemite.

  • Problems with new iMac and Adobe Creative Suite 2

Just wondering if anyone can help me out. I am a Graphic Design student and just bought Adobe Creative Suite2. I installed it on my new iMac, and it wouldn't open InDesign or Photoshop although I had no problems with Acrobat and Illustrator. A pop-up window stated that the program "unexpectedly quit". I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times and was on hold with Adobe Tech Support for three hours until I finally gave up. If anyone knows what's going on I would appreciate it!

I dragged the installer from the install disk to my desktop and was more successful in installing problem CS2 apps. Make sure to update everything as well. Some times it takes a restart to get the finickiness out of PS.

  • Mac Mini Server and Adobe Creative Suite

I am looking for buying a new server and wonder if the Mac Mini with OSX Server is powerful enough.
4 Intel based macs in the office, all working with the Adobe CS4 package creating a weekly newspaper.
The client macs are mainly working with InDesign and Photoshop files. There is a heavy use of Bridge for seachings and Smart Folders. From InDesign we create PDFs based on InDesign Book (recompiling info from various InDesign docs into one PDF).
Will the Mac Mini with OSX Server be powerful enough?
We are currently working with a QNAP NAS Server with 2 500 gb discs mirroring, which aparently doesnt fulfill the needs.
Anyone can recommend the Mac Mini OSX Server?

    Which QNAP are u using?
Should be able to support 10 mac in an office like yours!
A minimum TS 239 pro surely does the job.
Why use mirroring in a QNAP NAS!? IT got great backup feature
put the 2 drive in raid 0
If not available onsite - Buy an external 2 TB used to backup the qnap daily or at least 3 times a week.
In my office we work directly with the indesign files on the nas without any issue.
If you will NOT be using all the features of mac os x server, its NOT worth the investment.
When you say powerful enough what do you mean?:
    - Holding your files? any storage will do.
    - Functions and services like ICHAT, ICAL, ACL, WEB for a mac office, YES OS X Server is the thing you need.
Also consider that as of now QNAP NAS does not offer any mean of being bind to LDAP. Even AD binding seems to be an issue, have a look on their discussion forum.
Setting MAC OS X SERVER as PDC and trying to bind the QNAP to it is a kind of an issue requiring adequate human resource for config.
Investing in the os x server now you will leave the QNAP on its own for file sharing, unless going through Global SAN, which, combine with Mac OS X server and QNAP/iscsi is a wonderful solution.
Wonderful solution only if you Mac OS X Server machine have TWO Gigabit NIC and you switch support VLANS. So here surely not the mini, though still depend on the size of the files you work with.
Then again you will need to rethink your Backup solution, may be going with combination of : CarbonCopyClonner, Automator and Ical.
The Mini Server with a DAS will suit your need. Already in possession of a QNAP NAS I dont see a Mini Server and external FIREWIRE RAID box be a good investment unless you are of those kind of rich business who dont know that in madagascar woman are giving birth in the streets without any doctor, in jakarta children below 5 yr old are being left on their own to survive the streets…

  • How do I return Adobe Creative Suite?

Here is the story. On March 21st 2012 I purchased my MacBook Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium Student Edition. I know CS6 was going to be coming out, however I did not know it was going to be out in May. Today I recieved an learned through and email which stated something along the lines of 'those who have or will buy any CS 5.5 product on or after March 26th 2012 will be able to upgrade to CS6 for free.' I want CS6, I have CS5.5 still and it is still wrapped up. Can I return it so that I may buy CS6 when it comes out? How would I go about returning this item? If I bought this item online can I return it at an Apple store? Also, is there a pre-order option for the Student edition of CS6 through Apple? If I can not do any of this, and I end up stuck with CS5.5 how much would it be to upgrade?

You will need to ask Adobe about an upgrade to CS6, either free or paid. None of us here can speak for them regarding upgrade policies, though it appears that you purchased CS 5.5 prior to the date after which you could upgrade for free. You'll have to talk to Adobe about the matter.
As to a return to Apple, you can read Apple's return policy here:
    http://store.apple.com/us/help/returns_refund
You're well beyond the return period, I'm afraid, which is 14 days from date of purchase.
    Regards.

  • Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool

    Windows 7
I already have the Creative Suite for CS5
I have recently purchased the license for and downloaded some programs with Creative Cloud
Question about the article at http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    The first paragraph states:
"The Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Suite 6, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite 5 - 5.5, Adobe Creative Suite 4, and Adobe Creative Suite 3 software."
Item 7, near the bottom states:
"Now you can proceed with your installation of the desired shipped version of the Creative Suite"
    My question should be obvious:
    Which is it?
Does the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool apply to Adobe Creative Cloud or to the shipped version or to all listed in the first paragraph?
This is another example of why SO MANY OF US are so frustrated by your support.
Please answer the question without a link to another article with contraditions or, for that matter, any article.
    It's a simple question.
I am spending MANY hours trying to correct YOUR error, which leads to Creative Cloud install failures. And, yes, I have gone to the forums, to the community, and have replied, and continue to read support's circuituous excuses and misdirected answers.
    Thank you.

The Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Suite versions 3-6, and Creative Cloud. The tool can clean up install records for prerelease installations of Creative Suite products. The CS  Cleaner Tool does not interfere with existing installations of previous versions of Adobe Creative Suite products.

If I understand the translation, you want to buy a Cloud subscription at the special offer price, and the offer says you do not qualify... is that correct?
If my reading is correct, the Cloud special offer is not available if you have an Education version, since the Education version was sold at a discount

  • Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard and Yosemite

    Hi all
I installed on my iMac the Yosemite and now I can't start my Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Programs (Student and Teacher Edition). There is a message, that I have to install an old Java SE 6 Runtime-Version.
How can I install this Java Version? I can't find it on the internet.
Are there other possibilities that solve the problem?
What would be the best upgrade-possibility?
Best Regards and thanks for your helf
    Renzo

This is something to do with certificate handling and compatibility issues. you need to hack some .plist file, I believe... I keep forgetting the exact solution and don't have a link handy, so perhaps ask in the more active forums for PS or AI perhaps...

    rezala,
You should be able to get round the issue altogether without the legacy version (and its security implications), by following this:
    http://oliverdowling.com.au/2014/03/28/java-se-8-on-mac-os-x/
It is even more thoroughly described in this thread, see post #3 on by gator soup:
